30-year Valley resident here. I got tired of the lines at CVS and tried a few of the small pharmacies up and down the boulevard, from Studio City to Tarzana. The best one I found was Rubio. On the phone or in the store, they've been consistently great. The employees are nice. The pharmacist will spend time with me if I have a question about a med. If I don't, I can get in and out fast. Drug co-pays are determined by my insurance plan, so it doesn't matter where I go in terms of price. I just get better service at Rubio than a CVS or a Walgreens. read more

The customer service at Rubio Pharmacy is outstanding! My son is disabled and his medication needs are complex. The pharmacist takes extra time and provides additional attention to all of my sons prescriptions. He then arranges to have them delivered to our home which is a huge time saver for me. I would give Rubio Pharmacy 10 stars if that were a Yelp option. I highly recommend them for your medication needs. CVS which is sufficient for after hours emergencies, is not on the same level as Rubio. read more

I've been using Rubio's Pharmacy for a few years now. JP & his Family are very polite, honest & always have my medication's in stock. My medication requires a triplicate document & this particular medication has a million genetics. JP has been very open to discussing the different generics & allowed me to express which one works best for me! I'm very appreciative of that. Most pharmacies/pharmacist don't care about the individual. .It gets quite busy at times but I don't mind the wait, never longer then 15,20 minutes It's close to my Dr's office & in fact my Dr. recommended Rubio's. All in all I'd recommend Rubio's. They also validate so if you turn left on Rubio from Ventura then at the parking driveway make another left press the ticket button grab your parking stub & either park yourself or a valet will tend to your vehicle. Once inside Rubio's the 1st thing they ask is can we validate for you? It's great! Because I would never remember to ask! read more

I recently found a Drug Store and a Pharmacist that will go the extra mile in providing the best service possible. JP at Rubio's Pharmacy and the staff that work there are the best. When it comes to service finding that specfic generic drug that works on you. He is absolutely wonderful. Generic drugs are not all the same. You may get one you like go back for a refill out of stock. It is like starting with a new drug hit and miss. Rubio when you give them a heads up you may need a refill. He will do his best to see to it that you get the one you have used and works. And for that I am eternally grateful. But it is a two way street. You as a consumer have to give notice what and when you need a particular generic drug. Otherwise backordered and you get very upset. So thank you JP. I know I create more work for you. Transferred my prescriptions over and requested delivery and came same day! I could not be more impressed. SO much better than CVS!!

I wish I could give no stars. This is not the first time this place has completely confused me but I'll give yesterday as an example. My 3 month old daughter was in need of a couple things from her pediatrician, who is located upstairs from the pharmacy. Normally we go to CVS but thought why not, it's right there. They're re doing their floors, ok it's loud and there's chairs in the lobby, no big deal. We're (husband and I) next in line trying to purchase a couple things. They send him out to retrieve whatever it is so now we're waiting in the lobby. A woman comes out and asks for our insurance card. I pull mine out and she tells me that what I had given her was not an insurance card. I'm confused so I ask my husband to pull out his. She says the same thing. That it isn't an insurance card and she wants to know what prescriptions are covered. Ok first of all, that's not the same thing and we don't have the prescription card. This lady keeps telling us we don't have an insurance card when we have two right there. I'm getting frustrated because I know what a freaking insurance card is especially since I literally have to use it constantly for myself and my two babies. To me, that showed how incompetent this place was. How do you not know the difference between cards? I worked in a medical office for years so I know that they are different ones but if you can't ask for the right one then INSIST we're the ones in the wrong, how can I trust you with life altering medications? Especially with my babies. A hard pass on this place. read more

Rudest employees ever. My daughter and I went in after her drs appt to get water and a toy. We literally stood at the counter to pay for 8 minutes before anyone helped us. Not only did both ladies see us but the pharmacist did as well and just continued on with what they were doing. Pharmacist was actually on the phone with a patient so I'm good with that, but he saw us waiting and didn't tell the two ladies to help us. The ladies were shuffling through papers from the fax and walking back and forth. I get that paperwork is needed too, however so is taking care of your in person customers. At least acknowledge and say "we will be right with you". NOTHING! Just straight out ignored. I finally said to my daughter let's go they clearly don't want our business and then one of the ladies served us with no apology, no nothing. Didn't even say anything accept for the total. THEY NEED TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

My doctor sent my prescription via e-script and somehow the pharmacy by my house did not get it and were not helpful at all. After really terrible experiences over the last 3 days trying to secure an over-the-counter medication from Walgreen's & CVS, I was delighted by my experience at Rubio pharmacy. If at all possible, I will never support large chain pharmacies again, which are overwhelmingly understaffed and don't prioritize customer service, care, efficiency, or even competency. My experience at Rubio was the exact opposite: a quick answer to phone call inquiry, patient & thorough answers to my questions, and efficient & friendly service at the pharmacy itself (nothing at all like waiting 20 minutes at CVS only to be redirected to a different line!) They are so caring, they go above and beyond their duties to make sure everything is taken care of for you. By far the best pharmacy you will ever go to. The gentleman that owns ( or runs I'm not positive) it, JP Is what I hear people calling him, really does a fantastic job. One time he only had a partial of my prescription (1 time is all because he always seems to have everything in stock) and instead of turning me away he gave me what he had and shipped the remainder at no cost. My prescriptions are always filled promptly, the prices are very competitive and the staff is caring and polite. Just to give you an idea of how good their customer service is, I live 20 minutes away but would rather commute to Rubios than wait and deal with CVS and their incompetence. Very friendly local pharmacy. I don't use for prescriptions since I don't live very close, but I buy over-the-counter medications and products at their store on a regular basis. Always very friendly and helpful--whether in answering a question about a product or honoring a coupon price. They provide 1-hour validation for the parking lot and there is a complimentary valet---all of the valet attendants are very friendly as well. read more

They are very aware of when meds are for kids and work extra fast to get their prescriptions filled so they don't have to wait a while for the prescriptions to be filled (their store is in the same building as a pediatric group - so they see lots of kids) and so they can get home and start feeling better.
