Today I was in AWE of the way CVS security and it's manager treated me. Today was a beautiful sunny day so I rode my very expensive, electric bike, that's covered in fur and looks adorable to run errands. I locked my bike in front of CVS and as I walked in the security guard was asking someone if I should be allowed in. I had on shorts, a tank top, high end jewelry and a cute pony tail... I was astonished and asked the security guard nicely, although clearly fascinated, why he would be concerned about me. He just started at me, I asked again explaining I'd just like to understand why he was about to refuse my entrance... still nothing, not even eye contact. I then went to the manager and shared my experience, she also barely spoke. I run 3 business, have rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and truly can't fathom what happened today. I hope CVS upper management reads this and works to provide a much higher level of customer service! read more

Let me start my review by saying how much I love this CVS and their customer service. I don't go there as often, but being the biggest store on Ventura Blvd, I can find a lot more things that I can't find at the 2 CVS stores closer to my house in Studio City. Customer service is top notch, they are all on board to help you and really want to help you by walking with you to the particular aisle/S to find what you are looking for. This review is ONLY for the store and not the pharmacy. I needed a special kind of vitamin about 2 weeks ago and the other locations that I normally go to were out. I found my vitamins pretty quickly and also checked out their medical supply aisle for some things like a walker, wheelchair, bed pan and other things for my neighbor, and they had it all for a very affordable/reasonable price. Thank God I haven't reached that point to use a walker or a wheelchair yet since my 2 legs & arms are working just fine. They have a vast amount of everything from food, clothes, beauty merchandise, medication of every kind, (over the counter), household items, paper goods, medical supplies, vitamins, beverages and more.. 3 employees are always on the registers with nice smiles, and 3 self check out machines. I get their coupons in my mail once every 2 weeks and they come in very handy when making a big purchase. They also have a lot of discounted items like buy one & get the 2nd one for free or 50% off. Look out for the yellow tags! Open 24/7, security guard by the door, they even have a water machine outside of the store, store is very well maintained and super clean. Plenty of parking spaces shared with Party City, a cleaners and this new business that opened up in the place of Marie Callendars! They do have a restroom and sometimes they let you use it and sometimes they don't. Thank you CVS & management!! read more

While there are many friendly and helpful store staff. You will have a stroke trying to get any information over the phone for simple things regarding prescriptions. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. The Ai answering glitches often so much I am thinking of not using them anymore and moving my prescriptions because it is so inconvenient that they rarely answer the phone. I have gotten over that in the last 15 years they can be very slow with long lines, but they are 24 hrs so I would just go at night. The not answering the phone on multiple occasions has lost them my money and now it is about to lose them my medical prescriptions. read more

This has become my go to CVS because of its convenience and ease of parking. I also like how spacious the store is inside. Checking out is also very quick as there are many available self check out stations as well as employees to help you if you need it. The store is also clean and well maintained. The downside is definitely that while the store is huge, a lot of products are often out of stock and they just don't do a good job of refilling things. I came here yesterday looking for a few items and every item I needed was out of stock. I was able to find some replacements but it definitely feels frustrating to see so many empty shelves! read more

Stopped in here quick because I've been having a struggle to find my fave hairspray and this was one of my regular stores when I lives nearby. I genuinely do not understand what is happening in the world when the beauty supplies are under strict guard. It certainly doesn't make for a pleasant shopping experience. First of all there are multiple guards, friendly enough sure but MULTIPLE GUARDS?!! Then you have to go through a security gate that will buzz very loudly if you try to use the wrong side. Then once you get into the area everything is behind a locked glass door. Diamonds are less secure for crying out loud. Like, as a society, what are we even doing?! Do better CVS. Staff your stores appropriately with people and make it a remotely welcoming atmosphere. You're not the Louvre for crying out loud! Anyway. I left. All the security was too distracting for me to even figure out if they had what I was looking for. The hunt continues. read more

Depressing store even after the remodel. High prices on everything and plagued by theft.

I've had too many problems with CVS and decided to stop using them for good (see previous review). In addition, their "partnership" with Aetna (my insurance company) needs to be investigated. They were charging me $50 for a common generic drug (using my Aetna insurance) where I just got the same drug through CostPlus Drugs (without using my insurance) for $8 and didn't have to deal with the disrespectful staff at CVS. read more

CVS has lost the plot. They're already losing business to amazon, and then they go ahead and make it feel more like a prison commissary than a business. This place already had everything locked up behind glass. Then they added multiple cops on duty inside the store. And just recently they added something I have never seen anywhere in my life: electronic security gates, blocking off half the store, with a one way entrance and exit. Shopping in places like this is just degrading. It's awkward, you're very aggressively and obviously being watched the whole time, and then you still have to wait for employees to unlock glass containers for basic items. And still, most importantly, you can't just stand there and shop! I can't do the basic things I need to do to make shopping a useful experience! Because you can't pick things up and look at them or read ingredients. You have to awkwardly bend down to peer at them at all. There's so little thought put into customer experience that they don't even bother to put the cases at eye level. There's just no point at all anymore. I want CVS to actually think for once: Why would I ever buy anything here instead of amazon? The pharmacy is great though, even though this location is always super busy they still have very friendly and helpful staff :) read more

This cvs used to be so much better before they changed the layout and cut staffing. We couldn't even get what we needed because no one came to help when we pushed the buttons. If you need to lock everything up please have enough staff to come help unlock things. Very disappointed as a loyal neighborhood customer for years. The two employees were just being lazy in the front not paying attention at all to the alerts. Was also very disappointed when I made a print order the other day and the workers did not know what they were doing at all. read more

If was possible to give zero stars I would. CVS is horrible. They tell you prescriptions are ready, then you get there and they're not, or there's an insurance problem or whatever. They waste your time. The pharmacists are nice but terribly overworked. There's always a wait. On top of all that, the store is literally dirty, half the times are out of stock or locked up and there's only one person working the entire front of store, so good luck finding them. They're supposed to be open 24 hours a day, but it's so understaffed that they close at random times to get a break. I once had to wait two hours before they reopened. CVS is a horrible company that makes gigantic inflated profits by cutting costs and service and it shows. Do NOT reward them with your business. Go to Pavilions pharmacy where it's clean and they're always nice. read more

This is the pharmacy closest to my home so it would be convenient, but the customer service is horrible! They keep a lot locked up which is understandable, but it's impossible to get anyone to help. Today, I was in the lock up area for 1/2 hour with no help. I had a couple of items, so went to the cash register to see if I could get anyone to help. I was not acknowledged. The cashiers were having a conversation about their schedules, breaks, etc. I tried to ask my questions, but was ignored. She started ringing up the items i had while still talking to her friend. I finally just left without my items. Ugh. Won't be going back. Worth a drive to go to another store. read more

This pharmacy averages a 2 star rating, and that is extremely generous, in my opinion. 1. Made no effort to call when a problem with insurance came up. 2. Had to wait in a long line in order to find out my RX had not been filled. 3. Forced to wait in another line for the explanation. 4. Was told that my med was non-formulary and would cost 1000 for a 3 month supply. 5. No effort was made to correct the issue which I imagine would be common knowledge amongst people who work in the pharmacy field over any length of time (In other words, they would know from experience that this med, in this strength is often non formulary, but the other two strengths are almost always formulary. In closing, they are too busy to care about whether your prescription is covered or not, how much you have to pay to get it, or if you get it at all. Thanks CVS. I hadn't been here for a while, so I was shocked when I arrived. It was a dirty mess outside with trash everywhere. And what happened inside!!! Remodeled! OMG! Depressing! Impossible to find anything. So many products are under lock & key. Have to ring buzzer for attendant to open the cabinet. Took forever (had to buzz 3x) for assistant to come open up to get one item - not enough. They have new Security measures in place. Every time I use the self check out the clerks will stand 5 feet from me and stare at me like hawks while I'm doing my transactions. This makes me feel uncomfortable and makes feel like think I'm about to steal. This place has somehow gotten worse. There are more security guard protecting the razors than people working in the pharmacy. They have a system so you can speed up the process via their app. But then literally no one is at that window. I'm pretty sure that if hell exists, it'll just be an eternity waiting in line to pick up your prescription here. It is on the street level along Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. Plenty of parking spaces shared with an Urgent Care and Party City. Upon entering I can see that the store is well lit and spacious. They have self - checkout too. They do have plenty of sales ongoing. Christmas items are 50% off, I saw some shelves that are not fully stock but the isles are free of clutter. I came to get some essentials and I was glad I found what I came for. The store was not that busy so I was in and out in no time. I used the self - checkout. It was fast and efficient. read more

I have been receiving the WRONG prescription from this pharmacy for nearly nine months! I've tried going in to get it fixed four times and have been shrugged off each time. On multiple occasions, I was told to talk with my doctor's office. However, when I visited my doctor's office and requested a prescription history, they told me that my prescription has not changed since last March, despite this pharmacy insisting it had. I checked my prescription history myself. Was it the CVS system that got my prescription wrong, or were the pharmacists lying to me? Either way, because of their repeated mistakes filling my prescription, I haven't been able to take my medication and have been sick. Today, thanks to Stella, who was kind and helpful, I was able to finally get the right prescription. Thank you Stella! I don't understand how the same mistake can be made so many times. It is important to note that I am trans, and the prescription was related to hormones. The same mistake was made 6+ times in a row. At that point, it feels deliberate. This pharmacy is either incredibly incompetent or transphobic. Either way, I will not be returning. read more

I think a lot of people have experienced that this CVS has gone downhill over the years. But I recently had a really positive service experience from Kinte. He was training Chris at the time who was also very friendly. Not sure if this is a new crew they're sending over to save this place, but Kinte deserves recognition for his professionalism and work ethic. This review has nothing to do with the pharmacy section, as I haven't used that since the 00s. I stopped in here for a passport photo, and the process was fairly quick...thanks, Esmeralda...and according to their fancy Kodak Biometric system, it should be accepted by the appropriate passport agency. Normally $17 (yikes!), but with ExtraCare discount and CarePass, it was under $5 all in. Other than that, I've been going to this location since it was a Sav-On, then Osco, it is definitely one of the larger CVS stores around. read more

Extremely low quality standards. Sandy checked me out today, very unprofessional mannerism. Tried to speak to me as if i was iterate when I'm more fluent in english than her. She was arguing with me instead of just getting to the point and checking me out correctly. Surprisingly the manager (by the name of Eric) was next to her, i genuinely could say he's just as guilty, he holds a higher position than her and there should be a higher standard than this. This CVS used to be my favorite one. Especially since it's closest to my home. The ONLY thing I like about this CVS is RAUL - who is by far - the most helpful employee ever! Anyway - this CVS has taken a turn for the worst. Almost every item that I need to buy is now under lock and key. And when you call someone over to open the glass doors - the staff member waits for you to pick your item - so you don't really have time to look at the different items, read the ingredients, directions, etc. The store is also very short on staff. If you stand in line to buy from a person - there usually is only one employee at the register. The store really wants customers to only use the self checkout. The pharmacy staff are good - but it usually takes an hour to wait in line to get your prescriptions. There are now 1-2 security guards in the store at a given time. Why have security guards and also put most products under lock and key? I hope that an HR specialist comes to this store to do a major overhaul on customer service and to re-think all the products behind lock and key. read more

The 5 stars here is ONLY for the hard working Pharmacy staff who always appear to be unhappy, overworked and under appreciated by CVS ownership. I have been filling my family's Rx here for over 4 years. Armen knows customers and greets them by name. He is professional, quick and gets the job done. The employee Darlene was incredibly rude. There was an item that was buy 1 get the second 50 percent off and when asked if the store would honor the discount, she said no and said we should go shop at another store instead. Asking a customer to leave because they are inquiring about a discount that is posted is unprofessional, disrespectful and potentially unlawful (a hate crime). I ask CVS to look into this employees conduct and we will no longer be shopping at this or any store while she is still there. read more
