My family and I have been using this pharmacy for over 15 years. The service is consistent and all staff members are polite.

I always take advantage of their free delivery, which is great. I've been having these three prescriptions delivered for a year now without a problem. So, I go to my CVS account online to schedule the delivery. But for the first time, it says I have to talk to a pharmacist about one of them and answer some questions, after which they can deliver. Check. I call. After a few minutes on hold, I get some young woman who sounds like she's fifteen. Check. I said what questions do you have. She says something that makes no sense to me, but I answer all her questions and there were a lot. Check. Mind you, I have never had to answer questions before. Check. She verifies my address and says it will be delivered today. Fine. I ask if there's a window of delivery time, which there always is, as you have to be here to accept the delivery. She gets very irritated and nothing she's saying is making sense to me. Check. I finally get so frustrated that I say, "I'm speaking English here - I know I have to be here for the delivery and am just looking for a window - I've done this many times." Click. She hangs up on me. Check. I get a text saying they have my order and there's a link so I figure my time window will be there. But it wants a code they say is in an email they've sent. No email was sent. Check. So, I just figure it will show up when it shows up or I'll call in the morning. So, I'm about to go to bed when I decide to check on the original link I was sent. And what do I find? This young person has totally and obviously on purpose changed me to a shipment, meaning they mail it and I don't get it until Saturday. Not acceptable. It's two-thirty in the morning at this point - this store is twenty-four hours. So, I call. No one answers - for fifteen minutes. I call and get someone from the front of store and she informs me they're on their lunch break for thirty-five minutes. I decide to drive over there and just pick it up and so I can tell someone what happened. I get there. They're on their lunch until three-thirty. I decide to wait. I'm then told that their system is updating and won't be finished until four-thirty. I still wait. They finally open a window - well, "they" being one newbie who just started to work there. I tell him what happened - he's new - he hasn't a clue as to what I'm going on about. I tell him I just either want to pick it up now or have it delivered but the system is down and there's nothing he can do about it. I will remind at this point that we're talking about MEDICATION here. That someone needs. I may call over there in twenty minutes to see if their system has updated and if he can stop the shipment and deliver. At this point, if they can't stop the shipment they're gonna just have to do it all over again and deliver or, I suppose, I'll drive over there. I wrote a five-star review and noted that all the one-star reviews, of which there are MANY, seemed to be about the pharmacy there. Again, usually I set up the delivery online so I don't deal with them - very simple and works efficiently. But the young jerk who hung up on me? And then changed everything in the system to totally screw up everything on purpose. I don't wish anyone ill, but she should be fired. Sadly, as is obvious, no one from corporate OR this branch of CVS reads the comments. I'll do another update when all this is resolved. EDIT: I finally got someone on the phone at nine the next morning - she was appalled at what happened, cancelled the to be shipped order, scheduled the free delivery order, which arrived thirty minutes later. Thank heaven for a professional. Turns out she knew exactly who'd been the initial problem as they had two pharmacists out and had to bring in two new people. I don't like to get people in trouble, but if you're clearly out of your league, just get someone who knows how it works. I suspect she'll at least be talked to and since they record all calls I suggested they just listen to the call.

There's something uneasy and depressing about a store that- for YEARS- has pushed their agenda for…read more'wellness' and 'caring'- and yet is impersonal and downright rude in terms of actual customer service. KEVIN, the "Manager", is disinterested in helping customers, this is the third interaction with him where he's been hurt and makes it clear that he'd rather you go to another store than have to deal with anything less complicated than pulling something off the shelf. Note that this issue came up with Kevin a year ago, and he's consistently uncaring if it doesn't suit his agenda or his timetable. That that's not how you handle loyal customers. They employ one "homeopathist", who apparently splits their time between stores, and was not available the three times we called. Apparently, she runs her own business and puts more of her time and energy in that then in being on site for walk-in customers. Did manage to schedule a call with the owner, we'll see if that makes any difference in how this rather entitled staff handles loyal customers. Called on a Thursday around 3:30 to see if they had anything to help me address what felt like a hard-hitting cold or flu, RIGHT before a 4 day business trip starting that evening. Got transferred inadvertently to the pharmacist - a woman who was lovely and took the time to go through over-the-counter options. She said she would put them aside for me at the register. I literally jumped in my car and headed over- and traffic being what traffic is at that time, wound up right at the correct exit at about 5:15 (they close at 5:30). Called the store, got someone named "Kevin" who said they were 'already closing up for the evening' (? it's 5:15, but okay). I plead that I'd been in the car for close to 45 minutes for what should have been a 20 minute commute, and could I please purchase the items, perhaps they could just leave them outside or with a neighbor. NOTE that I've been frequenting this business for close to 30 years, and like so many businesses, have observed what used to be genuine kindness and care for customers dwindle along with the rest of the retail culture. So Kevin again repeats he's 'already closing the register' and cannot help me. I manage to park and make it to the front door at EXACTLY 5:31. EXACTLY. The store is already gated and there is Kevin - RIGHT by the front door - and he ignores my knocking. Yes. This 'caring' business about wellness that knows I am trying to beat a horrible cold before travel chooses to IGNORE the 30-year-loyal customer because it's uncomfortable for Kevin to show some compassion or kindness. He waves for me to go away. I plead that the pharamacist left everything right there at the register, could I just please pay cash and get my items after being in traffic for close to an hour? Again, he ignores me. That will be my last trip to Capitol Drugs. Caring and wellness, this place is definitely NOT about. And Kevin: I hope you never are on the receiving end of the unkindness you showed this 30-year-loyal customer... WOULD GO TO KING'S DOWN THE ROAD with far cheaper pricing for the same Chinese and Homeopathic remedies at 1/3 the cost of the re-branded Capitol Drugs items.

They'll check on my wife's prescriptions while I'm picking up mine. They text to remind me when I've got prescriptions to refill or that need picking up - and it's not an automated service, it's a real person reaching out! They do deliveries (and I believe they use their own people, not a 3rd party service). And when I pick up in person, there's never a wait more than a few minutes max. (I used to go to CVS. Never again. While I'm sure their pharmacist are lovely people, they're way too overworked by their corporate masters to learn anybody individually, and the wait time was always ridiculous. Their work conditions are atrocious, and it prevents them from delivering the service I'm sure they'd want to.)

The only downside is that parking is very very limited and everything is one way with a very narrow path to get in and out of your parking spot. But once you've parked and are inside, it's nothing but positives. The staff here is always incredibly friendly and welcoming. The nurses do an amazing job at keeping our two young children calm while they administer the shots (all the free candy & books & toys don't hurt). We're really appreciative of how well they manage what is such a scary event for so many kids. The location itself is quite small and they are doing their best to maximize their space which means outside of the room where they give the shots, there isn't a ton of space to walk around or even shop between aisles. But that's fine. If you're here to just put in or pick up a prescription it shouldn't be an issue. And both times we've made appointments ahead of time so we didn't have to wait for long. So, if you're looking for a good, local, family pharmacy, look no further than Elements. It's been great and as long as our kids are young, we'll absolutely be coming back.
