Unfortunately, things haven't improved. Every medication has an auto refill button, and they don't tell you that certain medication can't be auto refilled. You have to find out the hard way. It took them almost two weeks to deliver a new medication. Yes, it was the holidays, but they don't communicate and give you the head's up about anything. They didn't tell me a medication needed a refill request from the vet until after I ordered and it was refunded. The icing on the cake is our clinic told us their refill numbers were very off. 0 instead of the 2 on the label. 1 instead of the 4. Etc. They claimed it was cause it was imported information from the pharmacy that closed, but they should be updating that. Auto refills should be based off how long a bottle will last given the daily dosage. Nope. I've been given a day before notification several times that a medication that lasts a month will be refilled two weeks in or sooner. I have had to go to their site so many times to extend these times. Everything is last minute with them and we run a rescue with many sanctuary animals. We've been forced to do the math (with the help from our vet) and share medication between animals. read more

My cat was prescribed 2 medications. One arrived 2 days later than indicated. Luckily, I still had some from my vet. The second medication is now 2 days late with no ETA. I have to now bring my cat to the vet on a Friday to have them administer the medication to try to hold him over through the weekend. I called MixLab twice to see if I could get expedited shipping or even go pick it up, as the medication is urgently needed and neither could be accommodated. I wish the estimate of when the medications will arrive were accurate when I ordered them. The concept seems convenient but the execution is lacking, which is very disappointing for those depending on these medications. Still no ETA of when the second medication will be shipped. read more

They are always very helpful and super efficient. The autoship is great and my cat loves the little toys that they include.

Though they are a little more expensive than my previous pet pharmacy, their reliability and response to our needs makes them worth it. I have to give my dog 1.5 pills every 12 hours. Unlike our previous pharmacy, they give us tablets that are easy to cut and don't shatter when you cut them. Since it is such a small dose of a highly controlled medication for a small animal, and it needs to be as accurate as we can make it - pills that dont shatter are so important! read more

As you can maybe tell from my previous review, I've never been an unreserved fan of Mixlab. I used them for years because they were the only place I could get a common medication in an unusual dosage, and that convenience was worth the various customer service headaches. I've finally had enough, though. They're unresponsive and incompetent, and I am fucking done. For a business whose whole pitch is that they make your life easier, they sure did a good job making my life unnecessarily difficult. I can't even say how many times I had to call or text them because a prescription ran out and they didn't bother to tell me. Admittedly, I've been less on top of my dog's prescriptions than I should be, but that's why I authorized them to reach out to my vets and get prescriptions renewed on my behalf. Last month, I ran out of Benazepril, one of the two medications I was getting through Mixlab. I wasn't worried about it because I had a Mixlab package sitting unopened from a week earlier, and I figured it was the new bottle I needed. I was stunned to find that it was actually the Amlodopine, which I wouldn't need for another couple of weeks. (This is a smaller complaint, but the timing of these autorefills was also suspicious--we always had more than we needed, and I suspect Mixlab inflates its revenue by sending like 20% more pills per month than strictly prescribed.) I immediately texted to ask what became of the Benazepril and had to call hours later to get through to anyone. Turned out, they'd just reached out to our vet and were waiting to hear back, and they 100% blamed the vet for the delay, even though they had taken it upon themselves to reach out and take care of the prescription. It took another day for the prescription to go through, at which point my old dog with heart problems had missed two doses. I asked for same-day shipping and requested they waive the fee. Care to guess whether they agreed to refund me the $13.95? The Benazepril came that day, but Mixlab took no responsibility for their mistake, and made no attempt to make things right (I was honestly kind of astonished that they didn't spot me the shipping). I told them this would be our last order, and they could not have cared less. And as long as I'm complaining, I've never been a fan of the cheap little toys they send out with every order. I tried unsuccessfully for months to opt out of receiving them, but they were incapable of offering that level of customer service. I've switched to Chewy and regret all the years I wasted dealing with Mixlab. Good riddance to a regular source of stress. ETA: Thank you Frederic for the apology, but your response is (intentionally? I don't know your life) misleading. It appears you did refund the same-day shipping, not to make up for the lapse in your service (I know you were waiting on vet approval, but when you have taken on the responsibility of getting said approval, it is on you to get it in time) but over a month later, in response to this review. read more

Negligent and Dangerous - My Dog's Life Was Put at Risk by MixLabs If I could give MixLabs zero stars, I would. My experience with this company has been not only deeply frustrating but potentially life-threatening for my dog, Charlie, who relies on Sotalol to manage a serious heart condition. On May 9, 2025, I called to report that the prescription bottle was leaking -- something I've experienced with their faulty dispenser tops before. I specifically requested they ship a new bottle immediately. Nothing was done. Then, on May 12, after speaking to the pharmacist and being assured that the medication would be overnighted, I was hopeful MixLabs would finally do the right thing. Instead, all I received was a tracking number. As of May 13, the medication still hasn't arrived -- and Charlie is out of his heart medication. Let me be very clear: this delay is unacceptable. My dog's life was placed at risk because of their repeated failures to act responsibly, despite multiple warnings. Whether it's due to misfilled doses, inaccurate syringe markings, or leaking bottles -- MixLabs is aware of these issues and has not corrected them. This has been the most stressful and infuriating experience I've ever had with a veterinary pharmacy. Their lack of urgency, care, and quality control is disgraceful. If Charlie suffers any medical consequences from being off hermedication, I will hold MixLabs fully accountable. Who is the operations manager here? I really want to give you guys 5 stars. You have a great product, and good people work here and I really want to change this review to a 5 stars review but the operations here needs a full overhaul. I don't know the black hole that the medication ends up in once it's been compounded, and leaves the hands of the person making it, to once it's delivered to the customers, but the U-Line shelves with alphabetized bins ain't cutting it. The amount of times I've walked in here and witnessed myself and other customers get met with confusion and the medication is nowhere to be found with the staff frantically turning the place upside down looking for it is bananas! Not only that but the turnaround a lot of the times as well. You get something prescribed but by the time you even get it in your hands it's a week later. This may be great for animals on recurrent medication but for urgent medications, we've called multiple times, they said they can have it ready, but by the time we actually get it, with all the delays it's a week later. I understand wanting to take the business but please just be forward about stock or also overhaul your inventory tracking. Please, please, please fix these issues or hire the right person as floor manager or operations manager! read more

When in Los Angeles, it's so convenient to drive to the lab and pick it up and they make it just as convenient when in Miami they ship it all the way from one close to the other less than 48 hours the ice packs are still frozen They labeled the box perfectly so that UPS did not hold onto package longer. I seriously don't know what I would do without Mixlab! I've been using Mixlab for five years now and I've never had an issue with them ever so I'm honestly baffled at a lot of the one star reviews and not to discount people's experiences but I get three different medications from them very consistently for my 14-year-old 3 1/2 pound Yorkie so I just find it very odd That these people are reviewing them so low and when reviewing them low because they're not getting things quickly that also comes down to planning like if you know your dog's medication is gonna be low. This place prides itself on customer service and being a premium pharmacy because they give you a dog toy work your prescription. I'd rather skip the dog toy because most of us have a bin of dog toys already at home and would favor pharmacists who actually listen. Also for what they charge, you can find more cost efficient places and buy 10 dog toys yourself with the savings. Last year my dog almost died because of their lack of listening skills and I regret not writing a review to warn others then. Recently my vet called in prescription and I told them how their lack of listening skills was the reason my dog ended up in the ER and thankfully after a $1,000+ bill I got to bring her home. My vet encouraged me to give them another chance, so I called just now and spoke to the pharmacist Anna (I believe). She answered rushed and anxious, cut me off 5 times during our 7 minute call, answered questions not how she "heard" the complete question (because she didn't let me finish asking it), but rather how she "assumes" the question might end, cutting me off mid question. I'll skip the dog toy and find a pharmacist who listens and understands that the wrong pet medication can be life threatening and proper professional two way communication is the best form of customer service and medicinal safety. Using this service has been an absolute nightmare. My old compounding pharmacy stopped doing vet prescriptions and this was the service that I was connected to when I called for a refill. Not happy with them due to the time it takes to fill it, even though it's on auto refill, and the price went up, and it was already overpriced as it is. However, when you call, their customer service is great. I just wish I had more options. The liquid always leaks out of the top where the syringe goes in, and it never lasts as long as it is supposed to. I am a nervous wreck every month wondering if I will run out before it arrives!! I even started ordering it earlier and it still takes way too long to get where I am scared I will run out before getting it. Lastly, they don't put clear tape over the label, so if you don't do that yourself, within a week, you won't even be able to read the label. My dog could die if he runs out of this medication, since it is to regulate his heart beat. There is another lab in AZ called Wedgeworth that I am thinking of giving a try. read more

We've been using Mixlab for years, and something has definitely changed for the worse. As you can see by the other recent one star reviews, we're not alone. Every time we text or call in a refill request, they send a payment link, then, after the payment is processed they send a text informing us that this medication is out of stock. I would expect them to say the medication is out of stock before I pay, especially when it's needed urgently. Their delivery estimates are also terrible. They give an initial estimate, then when that date is missed and we call to get an update they provide a new estimate which also gets missed. This is extremely frustrating when I depend on them to get my pet's necessary medication in a timely manner. Their service is too unreliable and I'll be switching pharmacies. To put the cherry on top, as other people have mentioned, the tops on their liquid medications leak. read more
