My super stuffed taco pastor on a corn tortilla
Gabriella G.

A solid 3 stars for this neighborhood Mexican restaurant! Service was prompt and very cordial, we came for a light lunch around 1:30 pm on a Sunday and had ample parking and tables to sit at. Upon sitting we got a basket of chips that were warm and toasty: very delicious. The sauce was hot. I guess locals would call that normal- I'm a wimp so I felt the kick! Lol We ordered a carne guisada platter which was tasty and looked very appetizing. I ordered the Taco Pastor no onions, with a flour tortilla- and got a taco pastor. I was disappointed by the looks of what I was presented, but my daughter pointed out that that's exactly what I ordered... I didn't say "platter", so know the magic word for a full meal! Ha! The taco was actually all I needed to have as it was very filling, lots of good meat, but it was also somewhat greasy for my taste. Fast friendly service, good food, know what you order... that's a solid 3 in my book. Enjoy!

Solid breakfast, friendly staff, bright interior. I was along 183 and had heard nice things about this slightly-hidden Austin institution. Google maps will take you to the gas station next-door, but you'll want to drive an extra 20 feet and hit that second entrance. Would return.

Has. The classic omelet and coffee for breakfast. That is what they're known for is cheap breakfast and lunch for working class people. This fits the bill as I've got a day of errands today (Saturday) after a rain storm night. Was fairly quiet as I got here an hour after they opened. Everyone is friendly here, they greet you at the door. Decent place to enjoy a Mexican breakfast. My only complaint if I can find one is that they don't have pancakes, maybe another complaint is they aren't open in the evening .

The place is clean and the staff was great. Love the vibes at thos restaurant. I got the breakfast chalupa and my partner got the breakfast café. Both were delicious meals. Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Not too big of a space and not sure if there is more seating elsewhere. Anyhoo, coffee was good and I got the Royal toast and a single pancake with eggs, and sausage. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. Really wanted to try a slice of pie ( TX Pie Co) but seems a bit outta line with what I already ordered. Maybe next time.

I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

They specialize in crepes. They have a handful of small tables as well as couch seating. You place your order at the counter then the staff brings it to you once it's ready. I ordered my go-to drink, an oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon as well as their Lox n' found croiffin. The latte was great. The Lox n' found croiffin comes with a toasted croissant roll, smoked salmon, ricotta, avocado, arugula, capers, pickled onions and dill. I added an egg for an additional charge of $2. It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The menu says it also comes with a side of roasted potatoes, but mine didn't come with that. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.
