I had ordered the 14oz strip steak & she got the Vault Burger with fries. Excellent presentation & tasted amazing! Michael was our server & did a fantastic job as well. As for the ambiance, the background music was good. However, the only suggestion I'd make is perhaps "dimming" the overhead lights a bit. Otherwise, a 5 out-of 5 stars overall rating. read more

Vault 237 - 14 oz Strip Steak / The Vault Burger with Fries. - Salad Near Me - Buffalo, New York

For opening night I was wildly impressed! It was insanely busy but staff was friendly and on point. Chelsea our waitress was polite, friendly, and apologetic when there wasn't even reason to be on such a busy night. Russ, our bartender was attentive and very friendly, at points we had to play peekaboo around some of the architecture in the bar area, but he never failed to forget we were hiding out behind the column. Food was absolutely amazing - favorites being the gnocchi and short rib dishes. Our table shared those, the Smashburger, calamari, Mexican Cobb salad, Mac and cheese, and pork chop. So many option we had a hard time choosing. I should add to my edit that it's been a couple days now and all 4 of us in my party have not stopped talking about this place - the food! The drinks! The people! Day dreaming of gnocchi for days! read more

First of all, first time to Buffalo. Second of all, this restaurant hit it out of the park. They have a beautiful cocktail menu with many different and unique choices. I chose the spicy marg and my friend had the honey pot. They were beautiful, tasty and strong and the price was on par. Where they really shined was the menu. They have multiple options for short ribs. If you love short ribs, prepare yourself emotionally; I had the short rib carbonara. Now I know it sounds rich, but, it was only a light touch of parm where it didn't overpower the ribs. The meat was tender and flavorful and you could tell it was a fresh batch because it was so fresh, it tasted made to order. Their service was excellent and hats off to always keeping the water glasses full, because people take that for granted, I barely saw the woman come over and fill it she was kind of stealth. When I looked around the dining room I noticed it was full of business folks, clearly a popular after work spot. My friend had the shrimp and crab pasta and it was so beautifully arranged and she said it was very flavorful. So all on, I'd give this place a perfect 10, and the vibe was totally right! Go here! read more

Great new spot in downtown! Classy vibe! Service was excellent! Went with a group of 3 for dinner! I ordered the jambalaya and the others ordered the meatloaf and the short ribs! My jambalaya was filled with shrimp and sausage! Good size portions! Everyone loved their meals! The short rib looked amazing! Reasonably priced too! read more

Brand new restaurant in downtown Buffalo. They have an entrance in the building right on main along the Seneca rail stop, or you can go in through the awning on Seneca and Washington. The atmosphere is chill and classy. There isn't a specific dress code, but it is a bit more upscale. Jeans and a nice shirt seemed most common. That is outside of those who decided to where full suits and prohibition attire. That is the main theme of the bar, so it was fitting. Their cocktail menu mainly consist of gin and whiskey, but they have a full service bar. The bar area is huge. The drinks are awesome. They have wine by the glass or bottle. A lot of the wines are from California or local. There were 3 of us in our party. Since they were booked solid for their soft opening, we decided to reserve a table. I recommend making a reservation as it does appear to get full quick. There weren't even bar spots available and we went on a Monday evening. Now for the main event.......the food. My 2 friends got a salad and a french onion soup for appetizers. Now, my friend is a French onion soup connoisseur and she said this was the best French onion soup she has ever had. I got the short rib. OMG talk about tender. No knife needed. Pulled apart perfectly and was not fatty. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. There was like an onion chutney on top that tasted amazing. I also got a side of mac and cheee. They were penne noodles with a delicious cheese blend. friend got the stroganoff and she really enjoyed it. The noodles look homemade. My other friend got the steak diane that she also enjoyed. We got a tour of the other half of the restaurant which includes a bank vault that you can host a private event. The staff was really nice and the service was great. The bathrooms were clean (they are not gender neutral) and the place itself was well kept despite the ongoing traffic. After our meal we moved from our table and sat at the bar. Our bartender was Russ who was very energetic and personable. The drinks were phenomenal just as they were at our table. I highly recommend coming here. They are open for lunch and dinner. The only downside is downtown parking. read more

Overall a great experience! A friend and I went to Vault @237 for a celebratory dinner. We had a reservation and were promptly seated upon our arrival on a Saturday evening. The ambiance was elegant and comfortable. For our meals we had the crab cakes and calamari. Both were delicious. For our entrees, we both ordered steaks. One was the hanger steak and the other has rotated off the menu and I can't recall what it was. However, I do recall that they were both delicious and cooked to our respective temperatures perfectly! We also ordered cocktails. They were good, but didn't necessarily stand out. They were simple and solid. At the completion of our meal we asked if we could be shown the vault and the host graciously arranged it for us! It was neat to see the hidden door that lead to the vault and our tour guide was gracious enough to take pictures of us as well. It is definitely a space that I would consider reserving for a private function. Overall a great experience and we look forward to returning and trying some new menu items! read more

I saw a post about this restaurant on StepOutBuffalo and wanted to try it out. I'm glad I did. The chicken sandwich was very delicious and well seasoned. Our server Kevin was very attentive and kind. He made our time there very enjoyable. The restaurant had a unique and classic atmosphere. I liked the copper ceiling. It really brings the place together. I will be coming back for to try out the desserts! read more

If you enjoy loud, I mean loud, environments where you have to shout to be heard even by the people at your table, then this is the place for you! The sounds of other tables cackling and shouting to the people at their tables takes you right back to the best parts of your high school cafeteria. Who doesn't want to pay $20 for a burger and yell to the people at their table? I, also, still don't even know where the vault is that is the namesake of this establishment. Interesting gimmick with no payoff of actually seeing the gimmick. What a treat for our night out! I can only speak to what I ate in my party of 9 because I could not even talk to those at my table so I have no idea what they ordered or ate or if they enjoyed it. I had the chicken sandwich that was as good as any KFC you can get to. It was nothing special and I would not come back for it. I do not drink liquor but do enjoy beer but the beer menu was mostly beers that I don't drink so I did not order one. At one point in the evening, I looked across the table at my wife and said I hate it here and cannot wait to go home. The best part of the whole experience was leaving knowing I will never return. I have two stars because my dinner was edible, just nothing special. The ambiance was horrendous. The colors of the place are awful (copper ceiling, brass door, black metal light fixtures, faux marble laminate tables, gray walls, etc) and the noise level was off the charts. I am sure the loss of my business will mean nothing to this restaurant as they seem to have already attracted a crowd of other 50+ year olds pretending that they are 20-somethings in what they think is a more upscale place. read more

Start to finish excellent experience. Burrata and pork belly appetizer were terrific. The server was fantastic and even showed us the bank's vault. read more

This is my favorite restaurant downtown and I've never reviewed it before! I've had the scallops, short ribs, and carbonara before, all excellent. Their date night on wednesday evenings can't be beat. There was something on the menu (short ribs) I wanted that wasn't on the date night menu and they were more than happy to accommodate! Service is always friendly and quick. I dream about their aviation cocktail. read more

Recently had a party in the Vault room, food that was prepared by Chef Joe and staff was top notch. Highly recommend booking a party or just stopping in for a drink or dinner. Bar prepared excellent drinks for our guests. read more

This is a cool location and a really nice ambiance. The food was very good, portion sizes were appropriate for the price. The jambalaya was excellent, calamari to feed a table of six and the drinks on the cocktail menu are really good. I feel older than 30 saying this but the main issue is the sound. It is LOUD. We like a crowded spot with lots of energy but this was almost deafening when full. They need some dampening material to make the dining room enjoyable. Otherwise you're simultaneously unable to hear what the people at your table are saying while fighting to drown out the variety of shrieks and cackles from the folks at every table within 30 feet. read more

Food was tasty and hot. Service was a little forgetting but they were busy. If you want a very loud restaurant then this is the place.

Food and drinks were good. Atmosphere was really cool. Menu was VERY small so hopefully you're not picky. A couple small service hiccups. Waiting 10 minutes for them to clean our reserved table while there were plenty open and having to ask for specials after we were already prepared to order. Overall a nice dinner at a cool venue. read more

Gitchy new restaurant in Buffalo! Very cool vibe. Noise level was a bit high but it may have just been the table next to us. The food and drinks were good! Our server Jenny was wonderful! Order the banana bread pudding for dessert- you won't be disappointed! read more

The Vault is an intriguing use of a historic location. But I guess South beach prices have finally made their way to Buffalo. I was charged $25 for a tequila sunrise, which in hindsight I consider to be daylight robbery! The food was good, but I feel once the novelty wears off about a new location in Buffalo, their outrageous prices will bring about a swift demise. read more

Cool new spot that just opened downtown. The Vault restaurant is location in the same building at the very popular wedding venue, the Admiral Room. There were a lot of cool features that looked like they were from the original bank, the decor was very classy and fresh. We dined in the actual vault private dining room downstairs. It was very roomy and comfortable for our group of 10. Service, cocktails and food were great. I wish would've taken more pictures, I will definitely be back. Everyone loved everything that they had. For appetizers, we had the chicken tenders, calamari and crabcakes. Crabcakes were my favorite. I ordered the flank steak, I was sold when I saw chimichurri, and it did not disappoint. Others in the group had a steak Diane and steak Frites, everybody loved their meal. The steaks were all cooked perfectly. Desserts did not disappoint, we tried a variety - cheesecake, chocolate cake banana foster bread pudding, and crème brûlée. If you're looking for a new spot to try, I would definitely check this place out. read more

The atmosphere, food and service were superior. Delicious cocktails and the apps and entrees were terrific. I love that the French influence to not have massive portions is adhered to. Compliments to the chef, bartender and wait staff. read more

I guess the experience depends on the day. The first time I went with a coworker and was seated in a romantic, dimly lit corner. The food was exceptional! So I brought my boyfriend for a birthday dinner. We were seated right near a very bright light and two larger parties (including one party of three who apparently felt they needed to yell everything. The food was not as good either. He had jambalaya and it had only one measly piece of andouille sausage in the entire dish. I had the short rib again because I loved it so much the first time. It had a significantly smaller portion of meat and the potatoes were meh instead of wow (as they had been the first time). Even after requesting a more romantic table nothing was done even though there were plenty of open tables while we were there. When I expressed my disappointment to the server I was told, "We're still working out the kinks" in a defensive and unapologetic tone. There are some solid choices for consistently good food in Buffalo. This is not one of them. I certainly won't trust Vault@237 for any important occasions ever again and am not likely to return for casual dinning either. read more

It was fine. A bit over hyped, imo. Appetizers were better than the entrees. We ate in the "vault" room which was neat but I felt like considering the motif of the place the vault would be a bit more fun or decorated. It was literally just a room in a basement with a vault door. It would be cool if they have the pictures of the bank back in the day or played a bit more into the theme. It's worth a try. read more

There were six of us there for dinner. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Great staff and bar tenders. Amazing drinks! The food is simple, but done perfectly. I recommend the french onion soup and mac and cheese :)

Food was delicious, great service, the fact that there are actual vaults on the property is fascinating, but it was a bit loud. Now it was closed again for a while and they said they were still trying to get it right so maybe they did. The bar area was quieter. read more

This place is wonderful! Just went after reopening and the food, service and ambiance are great. Stop buy! They have specials on different days. Not quite what we expected, which was a higher end date night establishment. With a 30's style speak easy vibe. It really wasn't close. Cocktails were poor, the Old Fashioned tasted like it was a premixed drink. The Shrimp and Crab pasta was an Asian style noodle? The Day Boat Scallops with risotto, was scallops and wet rice but definitely not risotto...no capers, small portion. Waiter was very nice, and staff was polite. The rest was poor read more

Food, service and experience were top notch!!! I would highly recommend. The food was very good...The airline chicken and filet were delicious. The charred burrata was amazing...the sauce on it was the best. The experience of visiting the vault was very very cool. And our waiter was super fun and took us on a tour. We got street parking close by even though there was a Sabres game and snowing. Felt very old school Buffalo yet very contemporary. read more

Started at the bar where my sis and I each had a drink. I had the aviation she had a gin Rickey. Both had a decent amount of booze but the $15 price tag I thought I was in manhattan. We try to flag down our original bartender but she was on the busier side of the bar so the other very busy bartender making drinks for the restaurant helped us. He even let us sample a new botanical gin from Hendricks. We then told the hostess we were ready to be seated. The restaurant was loud and busy. Good thing we made reservations. Our server didn't introduce herself (pet peeve of mine) but was efficient in taking our order. She seemed overwhelmed, like she hadn't been a server long. We started w the wedge salad crab cakes. Wedge was good but dry. We asked for more dressing which our server spun around in the dining room before realizing where the table was that requested it. Entrees were stroganoff and smash burger. The stroganoff was very tasty but noodles were dry. Probably because it was 8pm? Not sure if the noodles sit w the sauce but this seemed to be the case. Smash burger was tasty served w chips. I like a lot of tomato on a burger so note that. Overall not bad, but the drink prices were a turn off for blue collar buffalo. read more
