I always have a great experience at Vaso. Definitely can be pricey and although I think the food is good, I do feel like you're paying for the overall ambiance. The views especially during sunset are so pretty on the rooftop. I do prefer to sit outside on the balcony rather than inside. I've gotten many of the tapas options and they have all been good. I went to Vaso with a group of friends and ate in one of the igloos. The igloos has a small heater that is adjustable to stay a comfortable temperature. There are multiple chairs/couches that all have blankets on them. There are a few coffee tables/side tables to set drinks or food on. The restaurant is tapas style so the food will come out when it's ready, no waiting on all the food to be ready. We got a variety of appetizers to try and share which is the way to go in the igloo. Gluten free and dairy free foods were denoted on the menu. The service was fast and our waitress was very pleasant. The drinks were unique and good but quite expensive ($15-$20 each). Last night, we went to Vaso to kick off our girl's night; we were staying at the hotel and loved the convenience of the location. First, while the hotel was not super busy, this bar was. Luckily, one of our party members did make reservations a few weeks back in preparation. We arrived at 4:30 for our reservation and every spot for reservations had been filled. Everything was very good, but comes with a price tag. For the most part, you are paying for location and for the experience. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and two apps and the bill was an absolute splurge (most drinks are $15-$16 and the appetizers were around the same price). We got the Brazilian cheese bites, which were tasty, but a fairly small portion, and the charcuterie board. Our server was fantastic. I wish I caught her name so she can get the accolades that she deserves (she had our party of three on Saturday at 4:30, if that helps). She was just so sweet and genuine! After finishing our time at Vaso, we went out to the "rooftop" area- it was really nice and a fun little spot. I definitely felt like I walked into a trendy world that I do not often enter. At least now we know? I have wanted to check out Vaso for a hot second and since yesterday was our 3 year anniversary, my fiance and I decided it was time. I made a reservation with the convenience of Open Table, which was really nice. I also appreciated the free parking at the nearby garage but that's about where the greatness ends for me. When we arrived, there was a long line of folks standing on red carpet. We joined the line, in spite of having a reservation, because we weren't sure if we had to wait or not and we couldn't see anyone to ask. While in line, I called the restaurant twice to ask if we had to wait and no one ever answered which was super frustrating. We finally saw someone and were able to skip the line and then we took the elevator upstairs. We were seated right away at a tiny table with a view of nearby construction and an apartment complex. The table was crowded with stuff that we later had to move because we had no room. We both felt very constricted. The restaurant itself was extremely crowded and loud. They were also playing loud electronic music that made me feel like I was in a nightclub in 2004 Belgrade. It was not the atmosphere we were hoping for or expecting. The service was weak. We had three different people come to our table to ask our drink order because I'm not sure that any of them knew who was supposed to have our table. The first person that took our order was also taking a really long time and the third person who came by just assumed we had been waiting and explained that he wasn't our waiter but had seen us there for a while and just thought we hadn't been helped yet. Yikes. We ordered a vat of the sangria. It was really good and not a bad deal. If you get the sangria be leery of the pouring device. Our waiter was filling up our glasses but it ended up getting all over my purse which wasn't ideal. He did bring us an extra napkin but I urge you to use caution when pouring for yourself. The menu is a fairly average tapas menu. We ordered four items. The names of the items are in Spanish and our waiter had a lot of trouble understanding what we were trying to order and chided me for using correct Spanish pronunciation. It was a little off-putting to say the least but we ended up ordering the charcuterie board, the grilled octopus, the pork loins and the chicken bocadillos. The charcuterie board was really good. I liked the selection and it was a beautiful display. The octopus was a terrible disappointment. It was mostly potatoes and it was SO salty. We ate the octopus pieces but we couldn't make ourselves finish the potatoes because they were just way over seasoned. This was also the case with the pork loins and the bocadillas. Everything was just SO salty. I didn't LOVE anything that we tried which is a shame because this place is pricey and we were there to celebrate a great event in our lives. Leaving hungry and thirsty and down $100 was not what I had envisioned. We tried to check out the rooftop patio when we finished but it was so crowded and stifling that we ended up just running out and going to Pins where we had a much better experience. We will never be back, that's for sure. If you're looking for a great rooftop patio for dinner and drinks, I highly recommend Juniper in downtown Columbus. I only wish we had gone there rather than Vaso but now we know for future reference. read more

Had the opportunity to recently eat here as party of two. We had placed a reservation due to it being the holiday. It however wasn't very busy. Thought it would be a little more upscale for a rooftop restaurant but it's more of a casual atmosphere Unfortunately of all the lovely views that the restaurant offers we were set next to a pillar. Not the best table placement. Drink menu had a lot of different options which were inventive. I throughly enjoyed my cocktail. Loved the tapas options. I always like to try a variety of things and not have huge portions. There isn't a great flow to the menu. It's a variety of appetizers that one could find anywhere. The food was ok. I wasn't amazed by any of the selections and certainly didn't find any to be memorable. I understand the pricing based on ingredient choices but it's extra money that's wasted. To the management - that was rough night (they had a facilities issue that was not anyone's fault). You handled it with class and grace. Yes, finally a tapas place in Dublin! Great ambience. It's located in the New AC Marriott near Riverside and Dublin Grandville's roundabout. An elevator takes you directly to the eighth floor and there is outside seating with fireplaces but not when it is 8 degrees F outside! It is loud (not much insulation on the floors or walls) and the spaces are tight, but that's what makes it fun. This is a place for drinks and small plates. I wanted to try the sangria but didn't want it too sweet, so the server recommended the red sangria. It hit the spot :). The grilled octopus was my favorite tapas. It was a tiny portion, but delicious. The shishitos peppers were very good as well, and we finally got a spicy one in the mix (apparently on average one in every 10 shishitos peppers is spicy, and when I had those peppers at other places, I hadn't gotten a spicy one, so I was overdue I guess ). The artichoke salad was delicious and quite large relative to the other dishes. The pork loin with aoli was the final tapas we got. Yummy. The pork was tender and the aoli provided a nice complement. This is a great spot for dinner and/or drinks. The views are incredible and the outdoor firepits make a chilly night enjoyable. Seating is comfortable and cozy and encourages lingering. After one bite of VASO's tasty tapas and sip of their delicious drinks, you'll want to hang out all night. Portions are generous and encourage sharing. But the food is so good, you might not want to share. :) I ate here two nights and had almost everything on the menu. There wasn't a single dish that I didn't like. But my absolute favorites were the Pan Con Ajo and Queso a la Parilla. The Pan Con Ajo will have you rethinking olives. It was salty with some crunch and a sprinkle of cheese and so delicious I'd happily eat it every day. OMG, Queso a la Parilla! Super thick crunchy bread, sprinkled with Honeyrun local honey, and filled with cheese! Heaven! And the drinks! The G&T (gin & tonic) is a must especially if you want an Instagram photo. Their signature drink, the VASO sangria (white) is so good - you'll want to order a Porron full. If you're going to order several, you'll save money instead of ordering them individually. We had an amazing night ! Stayed at the AC Hotel and booked dinner at VASO. The ambiance was wonderful, music was loud enough to be entertaining but not too loud where we couldn't have a conversation. All good and drinks were delicious. We started out our evening with VASO Old Fashioned followed by the charcuterie board. The meats and cheese were perfectly portioned. This was followed by a margarita flat bread, the delicious blend of sweet and savory, PLUS the crust was cooked to make sure if was finished but not charred. Something a lot of places get wrong. Following the flatbread we enjoyed the flatiron steak; this was our favorite! SOOO SOOO tender and full of flavor. We ended our night with La Nube. This desert exceeded our expectations. We wanted something to cap off dinner but we're not big sweets people. This desert met the needs of our dining experience with just enough sweetness and it wasn't overwhelming. The waitstaff did great! Keep our drink full, the food out quickly and followed good COVID protocol. Can't wait for our next trip back to VASO. read more

Have to preface that I never leave reviews, good or bad, but this was unreal to me because it was an event that we paid a pretty penny for that wasn't worth it. Had a rooftop igloo for my 50th and have been really wanting to do this for a while! I think it could've been a great experience. You have to pay in advance with a 20% tip already added (which doesn't give them much incentive to do right by you), though we would've added an additional tip if all of what happened hadn't. Our waitress was giving another igloo all her time and did not ask for help from her coworkers for us. They were ordering a lot of shots and drinks etc. I had one cocktail in an hour and a half, which is all I could get out of them, not by choice. No one would come in. No one else would help. Asked if we should go to the bar and kept being told our waitress was on her way. So, when the waitress finally came back in to our igloo I ordered two drinks at the same because it was taking her so long to get water or anything at all. It took another half hour for those. However, during that half hour wait when 5 friends showed up that exceeded the 8 people max for the igloo, she showed up within 30 seconds of them arriving to rudely tell us they had to leave and informed us that "the drinks are ready" when we mentioned that we had had no water or drinks for an hour and a half. It took an additional 10 minutes to receive the drinks that were "ready". Food was mediocre. She knew it was my birthday and did nothing but give attitude about the extra people that showed up that we apologized about and we moved inside. Waitress did say that the other igloo she was in for so long all night "wouldn't let her leave". I should have asked for the manager, but I was trying not to let it ruin my bday. I just wanted some good cocktails on my bday. read more

Vaso is one of those places I've really been meaning to go to but never have. I've heard alot about it so I decided to give it a try a week or two ago. First off I'll start by saying that this place is beautiful. Very clean and elegant. It definitely gives you the high class feel, with a very nice view high up. Perfect setting for anything from a date to a get together. With that being said expect to pay the premium for anything you buy. And that's one of the only problems I have here. I feel like the price for the food and drinks were not deserved. They sell small plates or Tapas. Each plate is priced fairly expensive. About 12-18 bucks is the average I think. To me the food was not at that premium level of which i would feel justified spending that much. For example I got the Octopus. I am a huge fan of Octopus, matter of fact it might be my favorite seafood. It was ok, not bad, but ok. Normally I want octopus to be maybe a little crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This octopus was decently flavored but a little chewy. The potatoes it came with were great, but i'm paying 18 or whatever the price is for a small octopus tentacle, so I expect it to be on point. I forget the name of other dishes I had, but they were good but still didnt make me feel justified for the money. The drinks were ok too. Basically overall when i'm looking for a good restaurant i look at food, environment, service. Food didn't really do it for me here. Like i said NOTHING was bad, but for the price i won't be in a hurry back, and this is just my opinion. I'm sure a lot of people might love the food here. My husband and I love the atmosphere, the cocktails are great, and they have a very nice wine list. It can be hard to get a table depending on the day and time. Also, we went recently and NOBODY was wearing a mask - not one staff member that we saw, even though COVID is spiking. Almost all the other restaurants and bars I've visited, at least the staff wear masks since they're not drinking or eating. We also decided to try some of the food after asking about vegan options. We tried the hummus, and the sweet potato tacos. The hummus was SO good! It was a unique hummus-guacamole mix with good flavor, and came with very good crunchy chips. A nice decently sized serving. I double checked with the waitress if she got the order, and she said it was in with the others. She was really sweet and kept checking in on it. After a good 30/40 minutes since the 3rd dish was served, it came out and look super delicious. The flavors were there and it was trying to become an amazing dish, BUT the rice was saturated with oil and the bottom rice lacked the crispy, crunchy lining Paella are known for. It seemed like the dish was rushed and wasn't given the proper time to fully execute it well. It was trying to be good, but fell flat. I've been meaning to find a great rooftop bar since I moved from LA. Finally, I found this awesome place! I went there with my friends for girls' night out on Friday night, and I'm hooked on their cocktail menu. I had Late Night Feels, and it was SO good! They have good variety of options for liquor--classic gin and tonic, bourbon, whiskey, etc. All my friends really enjoyed their drinks. Definitely ask for their cocktail menu, which is separate from the food menu. I can tell (and the awesome manager explained to us) that all of the recipes are well-thought-out ingredient combinations--very unique and special, created through competitions. The staff are absolutely kind, thoughtful, and professional, especially manager Alicia, who has the best sense of hospitality and made sure all of us were having a great time; her recommendations are also top-notch. Yes, so I came back to the bar the very next day with more of my friends. Overall, the price is fair, and the ambiance is very chill yet classy, with that awesome view. I highly recommend VASO for any occasion. They do have a private room, and the winter special--outdoor patio igloo domes--are such a cool experience in cold weather. Inside the dome, there was a heater and cozy chairs covered with fur and blankets. I'm coming back, since I haven't had the chance to explore their tapas menu.
