That shocked me to begin with. Although she was out of stock she recommended calling my doctor and having them adjust the dosage as she had a different strength available. I did as she suggested and everything worked out! She even called to tell me she received the script from my doctor and I could come anytime. I showed up at 5:30pm as she closes at 6 and she said you must be Renee. I was like omg hey yes I am! The pharmacy is so cute and so private you don't feel uncomfortable like at other pharmacies. I honestly always feel judged whether it is from a pharmacist or a pharmacy tech. Mai and I got to chatting about other medications I take and she said she would make sure they were stocked on the shelf for me. Wow! How great! IMO, people don't shop around enough when it comes to their healthcare - not this girl. For the same medication, I was quoted 52% cheaper at Shady Grove than at Vashan's down the road... automatic victor in my book! The service was quick (no lines) and the turnaround was short (pick up later the next day). I wish they would text you when your scrip was ready, but I knew to show up around the same time I had dropped it off. Easy enough. No one came so I went to the consultation window. After a long wait, a woman named Marcia checked me in again and told me to wait where the shots are given. There was no one else waiting. After about ten minutes the same woman showed up wearing latex gloves holding the red bio-waste container. She proceeded to touch the trash can and all manner of items as she set things up at her table while wearing the same gloves. Then she was about to give me the shots wearing those same gloves. Who knows how long she had then on and what else she handled in the back before coming out to the front so I asked her to change gloves and she willingly complied. Before she gave me my shot I confirmed that is was pfizer. This is when she accused me of having an attitude. I said I have a right to ask and she argued with me saying I should have asked when I first checked in. I said what does that matter? From hereon she continued to verbally berate me the entire way through the appointment even as she put the needle into my arm and squeezed the vaccine into it! I always confirm shots before they are given and no one has ever had an issue with it. I suspect she felt uncomfortable that I asked her to change gloves which highlighted her unhygienic practice. The gloves are there not just to protect her but also me. She seemed to have forgotten that part. I know this CVS location is not popular and people have had poor experiences here. I learned my lesson and will never go back to this CVS for a vaccine. This woman's behavior was unacceptable on so many levels and I felt very vulnerable on the other end of the needle.
