Even being really busy Emily was super attentive and pleasant in helping us out. Went to the store on Sunday. They had a sign out front "40 percent off sale". Started looking around and asked an employee is everything 40 percent off? He said no just on the two racks with the 40 off sign, which he pointed to on both sides of the store . So my wife picked out a pair of shoes and I went to pay for them. The guy puts in the system which is hard to see the price. Then I step back and look and it's full price. I said we bought those off the 40 percent rack. He tells me that the only ones 40 percent off are the 4 shoes with little tags on them. Very bad false advertising so buyer beware. read more

Stopped in to purchase a few last minute items, I was greeted right away. I already knew what I wanted from here so I grabbed my items and went straight to the cashier. She asked if anyone helped and apologized when I said no, but I did tell her that I already had known what I wanted when I walked into this store so it was no big deal! She also asked me right away if I needed a gift receipt which was awesome because I usually forget to ask! Worst customer service. I went to this location earlier today and the three female employees were rude the entire time. I asked if they could bring out a pair of shoes and they took around 10-15 minutes. When I wanted to look at some skate decks one of the employees was very rude and did not want to help. All three of them were talking to each other and never checked to see if I was doing okay or to see if I had any questions. I don't usually complain about stores, but this service was terrible. read more

I had the absolute BEST experience at the Vans Chino Hills store today! I walked in and was immediately greeted by staff, they then continued to tend to my each and every need. Isabella was helping me out today with her kind and bubbly personality, she truly made my visit unforgettable. Each shoe I asked for was swiftly brought out to me along with other suggestions she thought I may like (extremely thoughtful of her)! The store is nice, clean and organized. Only reason I'm giving it two stars. However the employees are rude and lazy. Isabella to be exact. Her other counterpart was not of any help either. Was at the store for a good 5 mins before I had to ask for help. The best part is that it was me and another woman inside the store. Two customers. Two employees. Doesn't seem too unreasonable. I asked for a specific shoe to the other girl (I couldn't see her name tag) and she went back to look. Isabella was just standing there adjusting her outfit so I asked her if she can help with another shoe I found. No smile. She looked at me as if I was bothering her standing session. She took the shoe from my hand, talked into her speaker, stood there for a couple minutes and without saying anything more she went to the back. So at this point there are no employees in the front of the store. A few minutes later the other girl comes back and said they had no size. I asked about the other shoe I asked Isabella about and she said she was pretty sure they didn't have that size either. This was the worst experience ever at this store. Please train your employees or have them not come in constipated. I went to the Brea store today and quite the opposite experience. I was greeted. Helped. They were friendly. Dang, I don't even know what to say., I would never expect such great service in a shoe store, a restaurant maybe but definitely not a shoe store. LIKE WHOSE mans is this (Dylan) he's amazing! Helped me pick out the shoes Ive been looking for! He even went through the effort of finding my exact size, preferred color. Although my initial color wasn't available, he made sure to get my email to send me about the availability and other promotions about Vans (Big fan of vans by the way). That is some effort and commitment! The fact he went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied was immaculate. The Vans store at the Shoppes in Chino Hills is really friendly and helpful without being overbearing or annoying. They are ready to help and quick to answer a question or get a shoe in your size (no matter how many you want to try) the reason for 4 stars instead of 5...the price for the quality of a pair of vans. My hubby wears his out in a matter of months, so $70 seems kind of steep for a pair that only lasts that long. But, the staff is great and they make coming in a breeze read more

Walked in to the store for a specific shoe that was seen online. Found it on the shelf & was immediately helped. The shoe came out to us in like 2mins or less. Tried them on and they fit well and started to lace them up when our clerk came over to assist in lacing them up for us. Her name was Leslie. She laced both shoes up & even had a conversation with us. Mind you, the store was busy and she took the time to be interested in our needs and very personable. The people at the register were just as welcoming & made sure our needs were met. Great staff & best store to have all employees smile, be friendly & helpful. More stores need your style of training. My one year daughter got a pair of mermaid vans for her birthday the Velcro started to detach from the shoe. I took them back to this location to see what they could do for me or how to fix them. The girl there and the manager both were busy helping other guests, which both still acknowledged me and knew I would be helped next. I explained the situation and they replaced her shoes no questions asked said when it's a defect like that we like to replace them. It was such a pleasant experience. Christian is a boss. We came in to get new shoes for our 18 month old toddler. Christian saw that we were struggling with his sizes. He asked if we'd like him to measure our sons shoe size. Of course we said yes. Our son started to cry (stranger danger) Christian smiled and asked our son if he wanted a sticker and proceeded to place a sticker on our sons shirt. That calmed him down in time for Christian to get his shoe size and then he gave our son a high five along with some knuckles. Our son was able to keep the shoes on and he excitingly walked around the store with his new shoes. The entire staff awed and cheered on how adorable he was. Pleasant experience for sure read more

My family and I have been shopping at this store since they first opened years ago. We've always had great customer service until now. Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, my daughter went in to buy a pair of shoes for herself. She asked the salesgirl for 3 different pairs of shoes. She loved them all and was taking her time on making her selection between them. She overheard the salesgirl, tell the other salesgirl, in a very irritated tone "Um, she's being indecisive", all while my daughter was being given a dirty look. I didn't think there was a time limit to look at and try on shoes. Isn't that her job, to assist customers? My daughter handed back the shoes, said thank you, and left. My wife and our two kids recently visited this location. We needed shoes for our 1year old it was 2 minutes after 8 and the gentleman pulling stuff in gladly welcomed us in the store. Then we we're helped out by Nicole who was fantastic. Willing to measure feet, get multiple sizes of shoes and styles all with a great attitude. I would recommend this location to anyone. This review is more for one person. I went in on July 20th. I had to return a pair of shoes my son got for his birthday that were too small. The gentleman was helpful in letting me know the credit I had and I started to shop for a new pair. I had my 2yr old son, husband, and father-in-law with me. My Father-in-law was watching over my son as he went in and out of the store laughing. He was behaving just wanting to wonder. The gentleman who informed me of my exchange credit then went to my Father-in-law and asked him to not let me son walk in and out. My son was not disturbing anyone, never touched their merchandise, and was relatively quiet(not crying or screaming). Maybe he doesn't have kids, but try keeping a toddler in a store when they wanna wonder. They are going to scream and cry. Would he have rather my son cause a scene in the store?!? I got a new pair of the Star Wars shoes that I had to pay additional towards (no problem just noting I spent money in the store). My son was not being disruptive or running into other people. I assume it's cause they have a counter and need so many sales per #of people. But come on! He is 2 and not ruining your store. Let him walk. I felt it was VERY rude for him to try and restrict us in that manner. I was thinking about getting a pair of adult Star Wars shoes but after that I just wanted to pay and get out. I can't shop at a store that treats my son and I that way. Overall the store is clean and the employees are decent. I just do not appreciate them telling us not to let him walk in and out. I could understand if he was taking merchandise outside or if we were letting him go on his own but neither of that happened. I will also be writing to their corporate. read more

I called this store for a particular size and color for a pair of authentic's. They said they had it in store. Picked them up and everything went fine. I got home and laced them up, but turns out there is a size 8.5 and a size 10. I called back the following day(today) and an employee said they will be able to size swap the sz10 for another sz8.5. I specifically named the two different sizes and the size that I needed(sz8.5). Employee said he can do it. I go to the store and an employee walks to the back to get the correct size. Comes back to the front desk to inform me she does not have it. Why? You guys said you had it in store the day before, then told me over the phone that they can size swap it for the correct size. What made it worse, is the employee I spoke to on the phone admitted he said it, but then follows up with, "I could've done it if we had the correct size." Basically saying he didn't even bother to check the inventory, he just said yea. AND the guy who initially helped me out the prior day, who was actually really helpful and nice, came in and brushed it off like "dang, that sucks."
