(Yeah, I know that says more about the shoe than the store, but still...kudos for carrying super comfy shoes!!) I also found the pair of Merrells that I wanted. I discovered that I bought it half a size too small so I had to go back to exchange. They didn't have the size in stock so they are ordering it for me and will call me when they get them in. I just called to double check on the status of the shoe and happened to get the same guy who helped me order the shoe. He remembered me! One of the nice things about a small store in a small town. :) I originally wanted to give it 4 stars because they don't allow returns but it is a small store in a small town after all and both salespeople I have talked to have been super nice so 5 stars it is!

I asked to try on this specific pair and he asked for my size and when I told him I'm a 36 in the regular, he said they don't carry regular width but I can try the narrow to see what I think. He brought out 2 different sizes for me to try and when I told him I wasn't too fond of the way the narrow looks on me, he told me no pressure to buy and it's a good thing I came in store to try on because now I know my size and can order online or go to other stores. He even offered to hold this pair for me in case I change my mind. I was honestly so impressed because have you ever seen a sales person tell you no pressure to buy?! I ended up leaving the store with the birks because I was blown away with his customer service. He was very knowledgeable about Birkenstocks and was so friendly and did not pressure me or give me attitude at all. Nowadays streetwear trends have shifted, blurring the line between casual fashion and high fashion. It's made its way into high fashion, collaborating with major fashion heavyweights like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Vetements, etc. to list a few. Kings to me is what pure streetwear is all about at its core. No bots, no asinine reseller mark-ups, no insane pricetags, no bullshit. Just tried and true streetwear styles from iconic streetwear brands that have withstood the test of time. I'm thankful Kings and others like it still exist (Proper, BAIT, Bowls LA and Union are both kind of). I say kind of because Bowls opens whenever they want and Union definitely has a certain audience in mind with the brands they carry. Anyway, maybe I'm looking back at the history of streetwear with rose-tinted glasses, but there's no denying that the fact that a place like Kings can still thrive despite the fact that a lot of boutiques I used to frequent have either shifted to online exclusively or just shuttered their doors permanently is respectable. The fact that you can still walk into a place like this and get some sick drip without playing bullshit games and waiting for drops or buying bots to cop shit is something I truly appreciate. The staff is cool as always and if anything, their selection has improved over the years and they've definitely stepped up (heh) their shoe game as well. This event took place at the same time at exhibit hall 8. For their first year running, it was very impressive that they took over the entire hall and that they had a pretty good crowd going around. To be honest, I am extremely far removed from this kind of culture, but it was still neat to look around. There's lots of, of course sneakers and shoes, of which I assume are high quality and highly sought after and lots of trendy street fashion style clothes. Lots of vintage and anime collaboration clothing which was really neat. Loved how the vendors would decorate their booths as well. There were some cars at this hall, a place to shoot some hoops, and a trading area for shoes too? Perfect if you're a sneaker collector. Holy Ground had them for $100 cheaper than where I typically get my shoes from, in person, here in NYC. I placed my order on Sunday morning and received them today.
