I was so glad to find out that there is a SAS store close to me since I just moved to the area from Monrovia. Pasadena was always my go to store and I really dreaded driving out there to pick up the inserts for my new boots I bought. I was helped out by a gentleman named Frank and another associate that I did not get her name but I wish I did because she was very nice. I called and asked if they had the inserts that I use in stock. He told me yes and that I should bring the shoes that I was going to put the inserts into with me. Well, I brought my new boots in and he was kind enough to put them in the new boots to make sure they fit perfectly. I cannot say enough about the soft step inserts that I use and will always use in my work shoes. You can get them on Amazon for $43 plus tax . In store they are $40 plus tax. Frank, the sales associate is the kind of person you want taking care of you when you walk in to buy new shoes. After I purchased the inserts, I went looking at the new work shoes that they have since the last time I purchased my slip resistant SAS shoes well let me tell you I found the perfect shoe and Frank ordered them for me in my size since they only had a seven wide and I am a 7 1/2. He ordered the 7 1/2 medium narrow and the 7 1/2 wide so that I could try on and take the one that I was happier with. I also found the cutest sandals a new style they have they just came in. Oh my goodness so cute. I might have to pick those up when I go back to pick up my work shoes that he ordered for me. Great store, amazing product and wonderful sales team. Horrible customer service. The worst rep ive ever encountered. She was snotty, belligerent, and provided me with the bare minimum of info. Went in to look and try on some shoes I ended up ordering a pair cuz they didn't have it in my size. I like the slide more than shoes that are covering your whole foot. Franchise store. If you are familiar with them, then you know you won't get proper representation of the company. They don't seem interested in service, though they may attempt to compensate with a discount. SAS doesn't do discounts, therefore that should give you a sign. The inserts cost $25, $30-$35 for higher end ones. There they are $40+, I was shocked. Did not end up buying shoes for my wife, going to wait to go to a non-franchise store. Still one of the better versions of a Franchise Store all around. Another plus is there selection. read more

Worst shopping experience... I went into the store expecting to buy two pairs of shoes. Even though I clearly explained to the clerk what I was looking for, he offered no help...just told me to look around and I was told NOT to remove the boxes myself. When I found something and tried to get his attention, someone else walked in and he purposely ignored me and bent over backwards to help them. If you want help, go in with a cane or walker. I found his arrogant, dismissed attitude infuriating and I walked out. (Also, the selection of sizes was very limited.) Looking forward to seeing this store close. read more

My mom can't stop raving about the shoes she bought from this store; she owns literally 3 pairs. She swears by them. Their shoes are top quality and water resistant. When working in the rain day after day, her shoes looked almost untouched. I went here to get myself a pair for nursing clinical and love the fact that they have detachable comfort soles which specifically contour to your feet. At the heel, each shoe has a built in shock absorber which allows you to have a bounce when you walk. The sizes range from wide to double wide and can accommodate any type of foot. These shoes are podiatrist recommended, so for people with aching feet, these shoes are a great investment. My mom continues to buy these shoes for work and has had no more feet problems. The man at the counter is a very sweet, elderly. He helped measure my feet to determine the correct shoes to buy. Sign up for their mailing list and they send out $15 off coupons on their shoes. They offer a wide variety of shoe styles, perfect for anyone going out to events to athletic shoes. I had been hearing about this place for a few months but was hesitant because I heard they were very expensive but i still was curious to see if they really did work for my aching feet. I am a server on the weekends and a school bus driver thru the week so my feet really do hurt me at the end of the day, so much that I have to put them up against a wall for atleast an hour a day because they throb. After visiting this store and buying some work shoes I know now that I am a customer for life. You really do get what you pay for here. Best investment ever. Bad experience with the management of this store. Manager is very rude and unhelpful...now I am stuck with the shoes that I paid 186.00 and it doesnt fit me at all. When you tried the shoes while you are at store you cannot really tell. The shoes are fine when I put it on while I am at store but then wearing them for some reason the heals jst doesnt stay and it keeps moving up and down as I am walking and its irritating. I tried to tell the manager of the store of the problem and he jst doesnt care and not willing to work with me in finding the right one. I told him that I tried everything adding some more insert and back heals support but nothing work and his answer is that he cannot do anything about it. When I said then if he is not willing to help me find the right fittings jst refund me the money and he started yelling and and told me me to go away. I was very proffesional trying to deal with him but he is very uncooperative. Never again in my life that I will put my foot on that store. Sad... Mind you I only have the shoes for oneday and they wont accept an exchanged at all. read more

Low review because I dropped by there to see what was new, there was a woman & man being waited on by a lady. There was another man working there, creeping me out! He wouldn't let me out of his sight, kept asking me if I needed help, etc. I kept telling him I was fine. But no matter where I went, he was maybe 25 feet away, smiling & watching. I don't know if he thought I was going to try & steal something or what. It got to the point I didn't want to talk to him at all. Soon another customer came in & was distracted. I took the opportunity & made my exit. I won't be going back. I really don't understand what he was doing. If he thought I was a shoplifter, he has no radar for that type of thing. read more

My sister works in a hospital. Her feet always hurt after the long 12 hours shift. So I decided to buy a pair of SAS shoes for her as a gift. The elderly gentleman works there was very helpful. I got a call from my sister after her first day wore the shoes. She was so happy her feet felt much much better. The SAS shoes have thick cushion and makes her feet very comfortable. The SAS prices are higher than average but it totally worth the money consider your feet health. read more

SAS was recommended to me by a friend. I will NEVER go back. The salesman helped me try on shoes and told me to walk around the store in them to see how they felt. I ended up buying them even though they were very expensive. The receipt said they happily take returns within 30 days if shoes have not been worn and with original receipt. The shoes (sandal style) sat IN THE BOX in my closet for two weekend before I decided to exchange them for a tennis shoe style since the weather is changing. The exact same salesman looked at the shoes and said he can't take them back because they've been worn. I told him I hadn't even taken them out of the box since buying them. He raised his eyebrows at me and showed me a few tiny scrapes on the sole of the shoe and said, " they've been worn. It's out of my hands." He told me to return during the week when the manager was there. I told him I couldn't because I worked during the week. He said I could call but "it out of my hands". If they refuse to take the shoes back with any sign of wear, they should not ask customers to walk around with them in the store. I feel like this was a set up so I couldn't return these high priced shoes. The salesman was very rude and insinuated that I was lying. My grandfather needed new walking sandals and we saw an ad in the sales paper for this shop. We came on a Sunday morning to an empty shop with just two employees there. An older man by the name of Ed helped us out. He directed us to the mens sandals section and helped my grandfather try on difference pairs to figure out the perfect size. I've been purchasing my work shoes (and sandals for weekends) from SAS Shoes in Montclair for about 12 years now. I keep going back because the shoes are wonderful and the service is always good. A pair of $160'ish "Bout Times" easily lasts me 3 years. They're very comfortable and look professional. Actually my old pair can still be worn after 3 years, but they are worn down and scuffed by now, so I only keep them as a backup. During my visit last week to buy a new pair of each I was assisted by Frank. Frank was cheerful, courteous and incredibly helpful. He helped me get the right size (after 3 years I couldn't recall whether I wear a size 11 or 10.5) and made sure they fit comfortably before ringing up my purchase. This visit to SAS Shoes in Montclair was as good as any I've had, and I will be back in another 3 years when I need a new pair of work shoes. read more

All the shoes here are made in the USA, hand sewn by people who know how to make good quality shoes. The styles may seem "old fashioned" at times, but they're really comfortable and last a long time. After having pain with my feet I tried SAS shoes. I tried in a pair at the store and brought them home. When I went home, I tried them on in my living room. Still having feet pain, my doctor is referring me to a podiatrist. I went back to SAS shoes where they told me my shoes were scuffed and they would not return my money. My mom went into the SAS store in Montclair. I was speaking to my mother that I didn't like the pair she was looking at. My mom has been using SAS for over 20 years. An older gentleman (employee) was very rude and told me I was in the wrong place because they are not about fashion... they are about quality and comfort. I would not have cared if he did not say it in a condescending manner. I said I understand that, I am not stupid, but he should not have interrupted our conversation. It was none of his business. The other gentleman then, said well, Are you ladies done here!! These employees made my mom feel very uncomfortable and rushed so we left without buying her sandals.
