Where do I begin? So I come in because I wanted to do a return. I wanted to return a shirt and exchange a hat. The hat didn't fit good that I ordered so I wanted to exchange it. The girl that helped me at the register seemed a little brain dead. She returns the shirt and then I tell her I wanna order the hat because you guys don't have it in the store. So she asked me so you wanna re-order this hat and I said yes and for some reason, she's having a problem at the register with my phone number and she had to ask me for it at least seven times, it was extremely annoying. I don't know why it took her so many times. I don't think she had a clue what she was doing at the computer. I have no idea if she knows how to work that computer but definitely seemed like she didn't. As I mentioned, she asked me do you want to re-order this hat? I said yes I do and she looks at the hat and starts the order. Now obviously I'm assuming she's completely doing it right so the transaction was over and I left. Later on that day, I look at my email to see what's the status of the hat and she orders me a shirt instead. How incompetent can you possibly be to mess that up!? She told me you want this hat and I said yes, she's even looking at the hat. I don't understand how that mistake gets made. She looks at the hat asked me you want this hat but we don't have it in store and she said we'll order it for you. Absolutely dumbfounded how you can make this mistake. I wasted my time and now money is coming out of my account because of her idiotic mistake. Tillys, please hire people with working brain cells, cause clearly this girl doesn't have a single cell in that brain. What a disaster of a situation. Biggest waste of time. During the holidays, I was surprised to get amazing service at a retail store. I came on a Saturday so I knew it was going to be busy but was pleasantly shocked at the experience i had. I walked in and was immediately greeting by the front employees. I was instantly greeted by Marcus and was asked if i needed any help. He let me know about their deals then proceeded to help me with shoes. He was a very charming gentleman and put my shoes on hold while I continued shopping so I didn't have to carry it around. Alyssa helped me in fitting rooms and was so accommodating towards me. She provided a variety of options and different sizes for me which is very rare cause most shops don't pay attention to you. I went in to buy two pairs of Doc Martens but the large girl behind the register and the skinny dude were too busy giggling and flirting to even look in my direction to say hello. I probably could have got their attention if I approached them and interrupted their chat. But no. I'm over it. This is why retail is plummeting. I went to purchase a watch for my gift. Spent almost $300 on a nice Nixon watch. Someone helped me out and I paid for it and I was out best service. I get home to look at the watch I realized it's DEAD .. completely dead. I came back to see what I could do. The first woman at the register asked what I needed and immediately told me I can't refund it. I could only exchange it or store credit. I obviously need a watch. So she doesn't even help me. She gets some other girl to help me instead who doesn't even know my situation. We find the same watch and guess what .. did you answer the battery was dead? Ding ding ding you are correct! EVERY SINGLE WATCH IS DEAD .. ALL THE ANALOG WATCHES ARE DEAD. I didn't want a digital watch or store credit. Horrible service when I needed them the most. So refreshing to come into a store where they greet you and ask you if you need assistance with anything right off the bat. When we walked in, Sandra greeted us right away and asked if we needed help, which we did because my boyfriend needed to do an exchange. We were able to do an exchange without a receipt and didn't feel like we were being harassed like other stores who shame you for doing exchanges/returns lol. She smiled through the whole interaction and made our visit pleasant. The whole store is pretty much organized as well. The sale section was organized by color & they had a deal going on for an extra 30% off sale. I used to work retail, so I know how hectic and stressful it can be. But honestly, smiling makes your day so much better, especially in the customer service industry! I like Tilly's stores in general but don't know what to say about this one. Most of the employees you will encounter here are very nice and helpful. The store is neat, clean, and well-organized. Tilly's has the best brands like Diamond Supply Co, Volcom, RVCA, Vans, Nike SB, Electric, Spy, Nixon, and more. They also usually have good clearance sales. However, that is where the good ends. I came in to buy a pair of Nike SB shoes, not any certain specific pair, just browsing through. A nice female sales associate came over to help me and she was super friendly and helpful. After looking around, I found a pair of Nike SB's that I liked and were on clearance. When I came up to the register to pay, that is when the annoying part started. Because the shoes were on clearance (normally $70 I know, crazy) they were now $60. I also had a coupon for $10 off. The cashier said that I can't combine a coupon with clearance items. I politely asked her if she could honor it and she refused. I personality think $45-$60 is a reasonable price range for men's shoes but I still wanted the extra discount if I could get it. I don't understand why Tilly's would not honor their own coupons when I have spent so much money at their overpriced store. I have bought T-Shirts, hats, hoodies, shoes, belts, jeans, backpacks, shorts, and sunglasses from their store. Their merchandise is extremely overpriced when not on sale. You can buy the exact same jeans that they have for sale here at JC Penney for half the price. I can go to other stores where employees inform me that I cannot combine coupons with sale or clearance items when I am unaware at the register, but will still honor them out of kindness. Tilly's never does this. My final complaint is that this place is understaffed. Even when there is a huge line and the store is filled with people, they only have one register open. The cashiers are so SLOW. What is the point of having 3 or 4 registers if you're only going to have one open? Get it together Tilly's!! read more

This is the only Tilly's that I enjoy going to because of the size of the store, the variety of items that they carry, and the service. I will go out of my way just to buy pants from this particular store. The service is great and the workers are always willing to help. Yes, items here are sometimes expensive but that is because of the brands they carry. They do often have the 20% off one item purchase coupons offered as well. Parking is not too bad. They are located next to a Nordstrom Rack. read more

I personally used to shop here once a week for myself. I buy new clothes and donate on a regular basis. I stopped shopping here a few months back because I simply got tired of the rude employees. When I say rude I mean being walked by several times without any help whatsoever. I recently stopped by since I was in the area and found out nothing has changed. I was planning on buying a pair of shoes but as I went to pay for my sweater the cashier asked if I found everything ok. I said " well I was going to buy a pair of shoes but nobody seems to want to help" She didn't even react. She obviously didn't ask because she wanted to help. She's just programmed to say that. So I went next door to famous footwear and bought my shoes there. I'm done with this tillys. I rather go to the one in my city even though parking is a nightmare. At least I know I will be treated like my money is green there. There's plenty of places to shop. So imo the employees can make a big difference. My average $180 a week is nothing to a company but I rather spend it somewhere else. read more

This Tillys has the worst customer service I ever experienced I recently moved to the area and used to go Tillys in West Covina I ask the sales lady a question and got a simple over there and pointed instead of showing me where a certain item was. when another person walk in she was greeted with help and went out of her way to greatfully help this person but I did not get the same service. Tilly's really isn't my usual retail store, but if you look hard, you'll be surprised to find some good bargains. I used to come here often for their purses which had decent sales. Lately, they haven't so I stopped coming. But every once in a while, I'll check them out anyways if I don't feel like shopping too far from home and I'd actually find some cute jewelry on sale. I got a black bow duo-ring which fits both the index and middle finger.. only $3! Just recently, I also snatched a dark brown cross-shoulder studded handbag for $19! This crossover handbag is awesome because it can be worn casually or dressy so it's perfect for just about any outfit. Well I'm glad to know Tilly's hasn't failed me completely! read more

Every time I come here the sales associate with the gray hair and big nosis on her phone and can never answer any of my questions. She's always recording herself on the mirrors in the store and ignoring customers. She has an ugly attitude and tone as well. Not only towards me, but the way she was speaking to another employee as if she was the boss of them. The entire staff is so friendly here. I took my 12 year old nephew birthday shopping along with my loud, rowdy 2 year old. Everyone smiled and introduced themselves by name. I was going in an out the buidling because of my son's meltdowns and the staff stayed to help my nephew with all he needed for over an hour. his sitters and personal shoppers you could say. A young man named Loren at the fitting room was super attentive of all we needed and no one was phased by the running around and crying of my toddler. I love this store! It's the only place I can find nice decent guy clothes that actually fit me! I rarely go into a clothing store and have a good enough time there to write a review, but this store is an exception! It was well organized, and well managed with great staff. One person in particular really made my experience here the best it could be! I was on my way to get some khaki colored shorts from Walmart. Out of curiosity I came in here just to see what they had on sale. Clinton, an associate, was very helpful. He would take things from racks if you wanted another size. I was trying on some chino shorts. I was appalled when I found out they were actually boys shorts. I was wondering why they looked short. Clinton told me about moolah, a sale where if you spend $50 or more you'll get a $10 discount. I ended up going to Walmart anyway. At least I know about moolah. read more

I wish they had no star review. Came in around 10:30am and a female with brown hair was helping me in the shoe area. I asked for shoe sizes she started off helpful but seemed another she had to walk all the way back check. Than I asked for one more shoe size in another pair to see if they had my size, she tells me we only have a 6 but I looked around the rounder and found my shoe size on display tried it on and fit perfect. However, it was all scuffed up on the bottom of the shoe and it was the last pair in that size , I asked for a little discount on it. She responded back saying, "Nope" , I asked one more time she tells me "Nope" again very rudley shaking her head and walking away. So, all done and said I didn't want to purchase from that store. Any store that has a display all scuffed or scratched and the last shoe size gives you some type of discount even if it's just the taxes off. I won't be coming here again! read more

Came in here to process a quick online return. My order was only from 2 weeks ago and everything was full price, but when the associate tried to ring it up it only offered the option of store credit. After two attempts she called up the manager Alyssa, locked up without even so much as a greeting and said that if this is all that was being offered than that was the only thing they could give me. I told her that I was not going to accept store credit as I had paid using my credit card, and she said that they don't know they couldn't give me back my money but that was the only options you could offer. I pushed her to do something warm but she said go home and call customer service. She refused to call them on her own so I stood in the store and I called them on the spot, of course they then called the store to figure it out as is what makes sense. Had the store manager been more proactive I would not have had to stand here for over 30 minutes with still no resolution. The store said that online sales was not their issue and the online sales department told me that in-store returns was not their problem, so as the customer I am stuck in between. Moral of the story is think twice before you make an online order, and definitely do not come to Chino Tilly's to process a return. read more
