I usually don't leave reviews, but I'm at my wits end with Van Nuys Dodge. On January 5, 2024, I traded in my 2021 Dodge Durango GT for a 2021 Durango RT with an aftermarket warranty from Ally. Everything seemed fine until February 26 when the check engine light came on. I contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, and they told me they couldn't see my car until March 14th, which was too long of a wait for me. So, I took my car to LAX Dodge for a second opinion. At LAX Dodge, it took them three days just to diagnose the issue, which turned out to be a cylinder misfire. Then, it took them another week just to break down the motor to find the root of the problem. During this time, I had to miss a week of work because they didn't have any loaner vehicles available. On March 28, 2024, I finally got my car back, and they told me they replaced the valve gasket and head gasket, assuring me that I shouldn't have any more issues. However, on April 8, 2024, I had to take my car back to LAX Dodge for the same issue (cylinder misfire), and I didn't get my car back until April 26. On April 29, I had to drop my car off again for the same issue, and it's still there to this day. There's no telling when I will get my car back in working order. Throughout this ordeal, I reached out to Van Nuys Dodge, and their solutions to the problem were disrespectful and unhelpful. They offered to buy back my car for less than it's worth, leaving me without a vehicle, or trade my car in for a basic model downgrade, putting money down on that vehicle and paying a higher car note. This was unacceptable to me, especially since I had just put $3k down and traded in my vehicle a month ago. I am extremely frustrated with Van Nuys Dodge and how they have handled this situation. The lack of communication, the extended delays, and the disrespectful solutions they have offered have left me feeling completely unsatisfied with their service. I wish I could give no stars. This place is filled with crooks. I got finessed so bad and I feel like they took advantage of the situation. They said whatever it took to get a sell. My car didn't have any gap insurance, they lied and made it seem like I wouldn't have to pay my car note for the first three months, they claimed they washed my Honda Accord when they really rolled it over. Took my 2021 Grand Cherokee for a regular old fluid change at 17,500 miles due to car alerting me it's time. I had Jeep Wave service so it's a free service as per my purchase agreement. I was asked if I wanted to have a few additional items done that Jeep recommends. I asked what's the cost to do it as I always say yes to recommended maintenance, and the estimate was over $1,000 dollars. I said the car is almost new with 17,000 miles and change that seems like a lot for some basic maintenance on a newer car. Was told it's recommended work at 15,000 miles so now I'm concerned if I don't do it, but said I'll consider it next time while I get another estimate elsewhere. Anyway, pick my car up and look in my owners manual at the manufacturers service schedule. First recommended anything above and beyond regular fluid and oil change is at 20,000 miles so I feel like they attempted to take me for a $1,000 dollar unnecessary ride. I can't find anywhere that I need to do anything under 20K miles aside from oil and certainly not $1,000 worth of work. Pretty insane and makes me lose trust in dealership service here. I'm leaving two stars as they appeared to do a good job on a basic oil change which was complimentary due to Jeep Wave. Additional note: I looked at every piece of paperwork I got and none of it lists what was recommended at 15,000 miles and shows that I declined it. So I have zero idea what they were trying to sell me over $1,000 worth of parts and labor. Had an awesome experience here today, 10/20/2022. I ordered my 2022 Challenger Wide Body Scat pack T/A back in June. It finally came in today 10/20/2022. I had dealt with Lilly for most of my experience and she was great. She recommended I custom order my model based on my pricing needs. She made the process really easy and she was always responding back to every question, concern and annoying "did it come get?!" text. She delivered on all of her promises and agreed terms I requested. I had wanted them to not put on my front plate, keep the stupid yellow protector on the front splitter and to not wash the car or remove the protecting film that comes on new cars. It was a crazy request but they understood. I wanted my car to be untouched to bring to a detailing shop so they can professionally wash it and apply ceramic coating. Santos was the salesman I worked with when I came in, Lilly was off. He totally took care of me, kept the demands I wanted and requested thru Lilly and was also a cool guy. They did not play any games and gave me an excellent deal. I was shocked how fast the process was and extremely grateful they provided that service to me. Moe was the final boss as I call it in finance. He cut me a slightly better interest rate without asking which was great. Rates are high now so that was really awesome. I mentioned to him Dodge had a great tire and wheel protection plan, I had this on my leased 2017 Challenger. He was able to find a similar plan thru Ally which was great! He was quick had the paperwork ready to go and answered all my questions. Overall great experience, I would shop here again! I know there are a lot of negative review recently, I was apprehensive coming in believe me. The crew here did it right, Lilly, Santos, Moe and the service guys killed it. DO NOT TRUST THEIR CERTIFIED PRE-owned vehicles. I bought a GO "Certified" pre-owned Jeep with about 22,000 miles on it and found out the sway bar was disconnected after the fact. When I bought it, I didn't really look deeply into everything because of it being certified and the salesperson mentioning the 1 hundred something point inspection they did. Knowing that and the fact that its a CDJR dealership, I felt like I could trust them. Once I finally took it on the freeway I would get the death wobble as soon as I hit 65 mph or if I hit a bump. Two months later I get a check engine light and when I took it back they told me the death wobble was normal on Jeeps. I noticed the real difference when I test drove another Jeep at another dealership and had them inspect mine. That's when they told me the real issue. I really thank God my family and I didn't not get into any accidents or had to swerve because this could've really ended bad. The fact that this Jeep was a certified pre owned vehicle and had those inspections done on paper really shows the quality of inspections they do, if they even do them because clearly this was missed. Safety issues should be taken seriously because it puts people's lives at risk. When I took it back, they fixed the issue but could not even offer to get a tow truck to bring it back to the dealership since I live 1 hour away. This really showed me they don't care nor value their customers. I will never go back to a dealership with this level of unprofessionalism. Please be careful and do your own walk around the car if you plan on still going to buy a vehicle at this dealership. I could add way more about the experience I had but what most mattered to me was the safety concern and hazard this could've caused. I know aircraft and cars are different but as a Marine Corps veteran who worked in Aviation and has seen the causes of missed inspections, I hope they take this very serious. I would give zero stars if I could Here is the story to be fair. All the people who work in this dealership are good. they try to help you. I bought my car from this dealership and my sales experience was great. But when it gets to the Warranty & Repair, STAY AWAY from this place. Took my car for a recall last year to this dealership. They kept my car for 22 days (since they did not have the parts). after I got my car back, I started to hear a noise from the back of my car. so they caused an issue that wasn't there. It took them months and a lot of my time was wasted to fix it. Finally, they kept my car for 56 days (yes 2 months) to fix what they caused. The noise was gone finally ( and this was a couple of weeks ago) I drove my car for a bit and I noticed that now there is something else wrong with it. The steering wheel is a few degrees loose and does not respond and does not get engaged when I try to turn from one side to another fast enough. especially in the freeways. So, they broke something else. And I am talking about a brand new 2023 Grand Cherokee that has only 5K miles on it. So be kind to yourself and stay away from this place. My time is wasted, and mentally damaged, and yet, I cannot drive my new car with peace of mind. My car is in another dealership right now!!! 6/29/2024 Someone (from the Van Nuys Jeep) was nice enough to check my review and tried to help me. I tried to call the number left for me, and no one picked up. I sent an email, less than 2 hrs after their response that I am willing to bring my car back. No one emailed me back. I purchased a new Grand Cherokee. This Dealership is extremely chaotic. The first sales person was very rude, even though I had an appointment and I had done my research and went there for a specific car prepared to buy, he was repeating a question so often that it made me change my mind. The question was: "Are you going only to see the car? Or are you going to buy it?". I got annoyed and I told him I was going to buy it but I changed my mind. He didn't apologize, he added: "No problem, just go and never come back again". Unfortunately I didn't catch his name. On my way out another sales person saw this happening and he intervened and offered me to help choose my car. He was very helpful. His name is Hugh Brown. If you want to purchase a car from this dealer better ask for him if you want to be treated well. After choosing the car and agreeing on the price. While signing the docs the next big mishap happened. The signing was done with Elisa Zamora Villarreal. Take your time, read whatever you sign, because she will try to rush you thru signing not even letting you read the docs. The signing is done on a desk, that's a monitor, she will scroll thru the text an not even mention to you when she adds extra products to your purchase. I ended up ordering the KARR security system for $2000, without realizing it. When I got suspicious about the inflated final price, she managed to trick me with complicated figures and calculations. I spent the day Sunday, at a couple of different dealerships looking for a preowned jeep wrangler. I wanted to trade in my Grand Cherokee. Was a a bit frustrated by one dealership and walked away from from their hardball sales tactics. I saw a jeep wrangler on the Van Nuys CDJR website and called them up at 4pm to see if it was still available. Addi told me that yes it was still available and if I wanted to come by he would have it sitting there waiting for me. I live in Oak Park so it not just a hop, skip and a jump to get there. But, I had purchased 2 cars from them in the past and each time it was a good experience. So, I made it in about 40 minutes. The Jeep was there waiting for me. So far, a good start. I did a "walk around' to look it over and one of the salesmen standing nearby gave me a "thumbs up" regarding this car. We took it for a test drive and I could feel this was the car I wanted. The price was right. I say to Addi, "let's make a deal on this car". We get back to the dealership and I get out of the car, the same salesmen as before gives me another "thumbs up" . I smile and nod. On the way into the sales room desk The "thumbs up" guy askes me for the keys so he can park the car. Which I then give to him. Addi and I are now seated at his sales desk and start talking numbers. He gives me a "lowball" appraisal on my trade-in. Which I reject. We start crunching numbers and are getting really close. I want this car. But, I also want to walk away feeling good about it. After about 45 minutes Addi gets up to see if his manager can come up a little bit on the appraisal. Another 20 minutes go by and Addi comes back and explains to me that the "thumbs up" guy I gave the keys to SOLD THE CAR....!!! I was so fkng angry that I had wasted all that time talking numbers and getting really close to signing the paperwork. I wanted to throw the desk through the window. I ask to speak to the manager who then comes by to apologize. He starts showing me other cars on the desktop. But I can't even think straight at this point. He says he will give me the appraisal $$ I was asking for. I leave in a foul mood. The "thumbs up" prick never had the professional courtesy even to tell his colleague that he sold the car from under him. So, Addi calls me the next day to see if I'm interested in leasing or buying a brand new car. Very poor customer service. I went there to BUY a car, not just look. Stopped in the morning, told them what I wanted. Made an appointment with "Vinny" to come back at 1:30 pm to see the car. I showed up, he did not, waited around 20 minutes, no one attempted to help me.
