Purchased a new 2026 Kia Carnival EX Hybrid from Kia Van Nuys on May 2, 2026. At delivery, I was told the second key would be mailed to me because the service department had already closed for the night. I was also promised a full set of all-weather floor mats as part of the purchase agreement. More than 11 days later, I still have not received either item. I have made multiple attempts to contact the salesperson and dealership, but have received little to no meaningful response or follow-up. Very disappointed with the post-sale customer service and communication. read more

We had a very frustrating experience with this dealership due to lack of transparency during the purchase process. We purchased a used honda oddesey 2019, which they price at $21,500. We agreed on pricing, we are told for the final cost will be $25,000, we asked for the breakdown on why it came to that price, NADIM didn't give us give us clear answer and walked away. So We just assume that is including the tax and registration fee. After our loan got approved by the bank, we are forwarded to finance manager ELISA, who has a little attitude when we ask for the final cost of the car , she seems to rush us to sign the loan agreement without clearly discussing what we are signing for. She talked about everything is included in the purchase. They will not give u the loan agreement paperwork after u sign and will be told it will be send to your email, which you need to beg for them to email it to you. The biggest issue was being charged for "optional" add-ons that were never clearly discussed with us beforehand. They added security system $3500 (that we have to call the 3rd party to have it install) anti scratch $2000 which they never install, and that Hyundai VSC $4500 on the final cost of the car, that comes out for the total of $29,000. These were presented as if they are standard or already included, which felt very misleading. My husband even have to go back to ELISA and who lied that this charges are not optional, my husband had to investigate and found out these charges are "optional". We have to seek for legal advice and wrote them letter for these "optional" charges be refunded. They need to be investigated for fraudulent charges and transaction. I recommend that anyone considering this dealership carefully review all documents, ask detail questions about every charge and not sign anything until everything is fully explained and agree upon. Zero star is what they deserve for all the hassle and trouble of resolving the issue they put the customer through!! read more

Car was dropped off at 7am for a road hazard tire issue. Not only did it take 12 hours to install a tire, I was charged $325 even though the tire was covered under a 1 year warranty . I've only had the car 6 months ! I'll be going to corporate on this , as they refused to sell me road hazard coverage on the NEW tire ! Unacceptable!! read more

I've never been so disappointed in a service department! They get you to buy extra things on your lease and then make it literally IMPOSSIBLE to get the service done! I'm so over this place! Scheduled a detail and oil service on my car. Bring it in and they have no knowledge of the detail. Then cannot accommodate the service even when I volunteered to leave it overnight. I don't live in the state anymore and try to use the auto detail package that we purchased. Now I'm going to have extra details that I can't use because they are only good at their dealership. This place is an absolute joke! I will not be buying from this dealership ever again and highly don't recommend it! *I will give a small shout out to Arnold who did give me some good advice moving forward and was polite. I was charged $792 for a battery replacement on a 2023 Kia soul! Picture this: 1. Took the car to Kia Van Nuys because the collision alarm light would turn on while driving and the car would not respond once it was stopped. Picture and video were shown to the manager-Greg. 2. The car was dropped off on Wednesday and we were told to call Monday to check on it. It was Greg's day off and I couldn't reach anyone with update that day. 3. On the 11th, I was told the car was ready and that it was driven for 15min but no issue was detected. I picked up the car and nothing was done. 4. The very same day the car was picked it was giving the same issue and so I took the car in again, I believe on a Saturday. Greg the manager mentioned to call back Monday. Again, his day off! 5. On Tuesday we got a call from Greg saying it looks like it's a battery issue and that the total cost would be $450. Being that the car is under warranty I did not want to do it myself so I had to accept. 6. On Wednesday, me and Greg had a heated exchange over the phone since it was the second time the car was there, the second time he says to call on his day off and the fact that it's really weird that now it's a battery issue. Keep in mind the car was there a week before and no battery issue was brought up, never had any weak battery signs but that's on what Greg is focusing. 7. Saturday, the car is ready and I and get charged $792!!!! That is $400 for battery and $330 for the labor on the battery item (itemized in their bill). So not $450 like Greg said it would be, but almost $800 for a battery change.  The other issue under warranty, no mention on the itemized bill... 8. After this, I called Kia Ventura and Kia van nuys to get an estimate for a Kia soul battery replacement. Parts and labor: Ventura: $295+$50 Van nuys: $350+$50  9. I also called another shop asking about the sensor issue to what they mention the following: You might have a dirty sensor.... Wash the car and disconnect the battery to eliminate errors. 10. I was upcharged an absurd amount by Kia but I was offered a complimentary car wash! So the car was washed and the battery replaced. Was the battery replacement necessary? I don't believe so. Never had any issue related to the battery and because the car was washed and the battery replaced, then the car errors related to the sensor that now was clean from the car wash, were eliminated. 11. Greg gave me an estimate above the normal and then charged me almost double of that amount for a battery replacement that was not necessary except to make sales! wish I could give zero stars. Do not bring your car here if you care about it -- especially if you've already prepaid. My car was barely used, yet it feels like they didn't even bother to change the oil. The oil was still dark, which makes it obvious nothing was done. On top of that, the package I paid for included a tire rotation, and they didn't do that either. So what exactly did I pay for? This is careless, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. Was I sold a lemon? After less than a month of ownership, the safety features have stopped working, the rear window washer fluids pours into the back of the car instead instead of the outside, and the engine frequently sounds like a jetliner trying to take off as it struggles to accelerate. That staff was so friendly, but their sales seem deceptive. I loathe that I am stuck with this wreck until the note is paid off. Update 14 November 2025: less than 12 hours since I parked my car last night and wrote this, the electronics in my windows are going out. Pushing the button up or down will move the window down but not up without a lot of trying up then down then up then down. 5 minutes to get my window back up is insane. It may be time to contact someone who specializes in lemon laws. read more

The service advisor representative Arno Babajanian is very unprofessional and rude. I came to drop my wife's car for an oil change and waiting in the lobby for 15-20 minutes and wasn't even acknowledged as most of the service advisors were either chatting or eating. I approached him to ask for assistance and all he said in a rude way was "it is not in my control" I am not available to help you. The other representative Greg Minanian after hearing him say that approached to assist us with our service. Kia's are horrible cars along with the service department. Best services are Lexus, Infiniti, and Audi from my past experiences never getting a car from Kia again better off taking a bus or bicycle. read more

This is about the new service center on Sepulveda, not about sales. I just had a crappy experience on multiple levels. I needed a tire and called to discover, great, they had it. But timing is important because I work everyday. So they scheduled me for the "first appointment" available the next morning. I get there and am told, "could be an hour and a half." I ask "to change one tire and do the alignment?" They say they have other cars and I would have to get in line. I look around an empty check in area as I'm the only one there. I figure ok, they're just saying what they have to, I'll get work done since they have this new lounge. I go in to find ICE recruitment ads playing on the TVs. Here I am in a room with mostly minorities and ICE ads are playing above their heads. I ask if I can speak to a manager. Surprise (not), he's not available. Who knows when he'll be in. That's convenient. So I go sit down to get work done. The internet keeps dropping out. It's not stable enough to do any work that requires the internet, such as mine. I go to ask someone and am told that it seems to be working for him. So you think I'm making things up. I have to explicitly ask "could you please have someone look at it?" The nice guy comes to where I'm at to say that all he can do is submit a support ticket and that someone at another location will get to the ticket at some point. What a great new lounge for people who have to get stuff done while they wait. When I get my car about 1.45 hours later I ask if the manger is in yet. I just want to politely say that I don't appreciate the ICE ads in the businesses I patronize. I wasn't going to get worked up: just one person expressing their opinion who has bought two cars from them. Maybe it will make a difference since the employees probably don't love hearing it all day at work but probably can't say anything. I was told he wasn't in still. Two hours without a manager or supervisor. Interesting. My brother owns a dealership and runs the service center in Texas. Two hours without at least a supervisor on duty would never happen there. But ok, I'll just leave a message for the supervisor online and get a call back. Two weeks later, no return email, no call back. So take it for what it's worth. Maybe you don't care about ICE or love them. Maybe you don't need working email, or care that they seem really uninterested in hearing from their customers about service issues. All good. But for those who do care about, at least, having a place with minimal customer service, set your expectations appropriately. Not that many of us with Kias have many options here in the area. But at least consider just getting a ride share so you're not stuck there listening to ICE ads without internet and eating popcorn at 8am. read more

Well, I came back because I was assured on the phone that a regular service appointment (as opposed to repairs) would take around an hour. When I got here I was told it would take 1.5 hours, so I decided to wait. I've been sitting here for over 2.5 hours and just got told it'll be 45 more minutes. I'm done with this place, which is a shame because it's not too far from me and they always give you a complimentary car wash. The advisor who checked in my car is very nice, but that doesn't make up for the length of time this is taking. read more

I've never had such dreadful service from a dealer before. I brought my ev6 in with a battery that died to a bad ICCU (known problem with this car). Even though the car is still under the factory warranty I was told the battery need replacing out of pocket. I was quoted $329 plus tax over the phone seemed excessive but I said yes. Then I was told I should forget about diagnosing the ICCU or it could be a few days in the shop or maybe a month. A weird scare tactic but I said keep it as long as it takes to fix the underlying issue. 2 hours later I get a text the car is ready. When I pickup the car suddenly the price is around $500. Avoid these guys and take your car to a different service place. They're crooks. read more

A couple of months ago, I went to the Kia Van Nuy Service center on Van nuys blvd to have my 2020 Kia Rio car a/c charged since it was not blowing cold air, I was told that they have to run a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with it and the diagnostic test would cost around $330 and once they find out what's wrong and I have it repaired, they would waive the diagnostic fee if I have them perform the repair, and they told me that diagnostic would take a day or 2, they said they would send me home via Lyft and send a car (Lyft the next day to bring me to the center tom pick up my car) I had to defer the service since I remembered I was waiting to get my replacement credit card, and they haven't done anything to my car. I called yesterday to set an appointment to finally get it repaired for today at 7am, I got to the van nuys blvd. service center at 6:50 and I noticed a large banner that said that the service center was moved to 5905 Sepulveda blvd, I drove to the new repair center, it was a bigger and roomier repair center, I asked my service advisor Arlene to verified that that diagnostic fee would be waived if I have them perform the repair and she told me no. They will not waive the diagnostic fee and they will only send me home one way via Lyft. Coming back would be on me. Sigh... I came in at 7:30am, I told her I would wait till end of today, at around 10:30am, she told me I just need to recharge my Freon and my car would be ready in about 50 mins, I was driving home around 11:30am. Overall, my experience was ok, the new center was nicer and more spacious, the waiting room is pretty nice and they have a coffee/chocolate machine or water bottles and popcorn for free. I complained about the fact that when I called yesterday to set an appointment, they didn't tell me or remind me that the repair center moved to a new location. And the diagnostic fee ($330) not being waived was unexpected and irritating. Arlene was friendly and professional. read more

It was all good until I signed the papers. I leased a new KIA electric - my third - the first 2 from Glendale KIA which is further away for me so I went to Van Nuys. Then I received a statement from KIA Finance that was $34 more monthly than was agreed on. I called Atta, my salesperson who tried to blame it on Eric in finance. From then on neither would take my calls - everyday for a week. I still had my old lease as I paid $2800 to repair the exterior scratches. Now no one responds to my calls to come get the old KIA which I do not own anymore but frankly expect to be charged for keeping it on my property. I still don't know why I have a higher monthly. (A friend chalked it up to taxes). And I don't know when they will miss their old leased vehicle. Plus, I have never received any communication - phone or email - from Atta, my salesman, Eric, the finance officer. And Ali, the dealership manager, owner. So I am a disgruntled, overcharged and ghosted customer. I'm an 87 year old widow who has been blindsided by these aggessive men. Did I mention the rudeness from Atta on my first call? And some other salesperson who happened to pick up one of my calls and dismissed men when I wanted Ali, the manager/owner. read more

I am NEVER buying a Kia. The experience I had with them was the worst one I've ever had. I bought a NEW car in January of 2024 and it turned out to be a nightmare. I took my car to service back in April of 2024 because it broke down after exiting the freeway. They had to tow it and kept it at service until May 2024. After getting my car back, a few days later the codes went off again and took it straight to service. I was told they would not be able to take it in since they had no room until July, so I had no choice but to take home a defective car. I took it in again in July and they were finally able to take it in. We weren't given a rental or anything after continuously asking for one . They had my car from July 2024 and in March of 2025 they called to tell me my car was ready for pickup. I wasn't able to take it home the day I went since everyone had conveniently gone home for the day. My husband went the following day to pick it up, and not even 20 minutes later the car had broken down AGAIN. During the whole time that my car was in service, I was not given a single update after continuously texting and calling them. They had failed to inform me that the first person that took my car had been fired; the second person that then took my car was also fired. I only found out this information when I would personally go to service. The third person that took in my car was completely clueless as to what was wrong with it, and I do not blame him - I blame their horrible management. This caused me so much stress, time, and money that I did not have. I had been paying for a car and insurance I was never able to use for almost a year. UPDATE: DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR RESPONSE BELOW. I HAVE CALLED AND CALLED THIS NUMBER. IT DOESN'T EVEN RING TO THE NAME THEY SAY IT DOES...THEY POSTED THIS RESPONSE TO FOOL OTHER PEOPLE INTO THINKING THEY WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. Can I give 0 stars? I had to come out of pocket $240 to program a key on a brand new Kia I purchased in November of 2025. The dealership said the original duplicate key was in storage but promised to mail it. After 6 weeks of calls and texts, they admitted they lost it and mailed us a new key. When we received it and contact them, they told us we had to come to the dealership to have it programmed...a 3 hour round trip from our home. We told them that was too great a hardship for us and ask they reimburse us the cost of having it programmed at our local dealer. They refused and offered a free service. I reminded the salesman that he sold me the service package...and also a new car does not require service. He promised to call me back. That as a week ago. I gave up and came out of pocket to program the key. read more

These guys get five stars from me all around! The shout outs go to Jimmy from sales and Greg from the service team. Jimmy worked with us tirelessly to help us find a car. Our original car was in a car accident and was totaled, so going into having to buy a new car was not something we were particularly excited about. HOWEVER, Jimmy got us excited about it. He was compassionate about our situation, and our budget...and he never made us feel bad about our budget, and did everything he could to work with us. But what was even more important is that he was the only sales guy, between four different Kia dealerships, who made me feel like he genuinely wanted to help me. He wasn't pushy, he just got us excited about the different cars. He never made us feel like we were being frustrating, or picky, or any one of the many feelings other dealerships made me feel. We did not end up buying from there, simply because their inventory was low and we couldn't find something that matched our budget with the options they had. They were very reasonable about everything, we just were on a tight time limit. If I had more time, I would have waited and bought from him because he made me feel good about buying a car from there. Onto Greg! We bought a car from a different dealership, about two hours away, and a few days later, the oil change warning came on. I called the dealership we bought from and they couldn't figure out how to fix it over the phone, so I thought I'd give the service dealership here a try, and I'm so glad I did. I pulled up, without an appointment, and asked if he could help me with it, and he was so nice about it! He did not have to be that nice. He seemed unbothered by me, and so willing to help. He didn't try to push anything additional on me, which I also appreciated. He got the oil change warning reset and set to notify me at the proper time, and then helped me figure out how to work out some of the tech in my car. He was very knowledgeable and just really kind. If you want to buy or get your car serviced by people you feel like you can trust, hit up Jimmy in sales and Greg on the service team. Car buying should be fun, even if it's not an ideal situation, and we're so thankful that Jimmy made it as fun as it could possibly be. read more
