I walked out feeling extremely frustrated and angry. The next day, while venting to a friend, they suggested I try Galpin Mazda. I was actually planning to rent a car for another week and continue searching, but I decided to give them one last shot first. Honestly, I went in expecting the worst and was mentally prepared for another fight. Instead, the entire experience was the exact opposite. It started with the phone call. I'm pretty particular about what I want (for example, I really don't like leather-type seats), and I also didn't want a black car. The person on the phone actually took the time to go physically confirm they had exactly what I was looking for before continuing the conversation. We discussed pricing, and while their number was slightly higher than the original quote from the other dealership, they **did not have any of those "mandatory add-ons."** That made the total cost lower and far more transparent. I was even able to complete much of the paperwork over the phone with Manny Arias, the salesperson I worked with. Even so, my guard was still up because of my earlier experiences. Often, people assume they're helping and immediately try to grab or touch you. At Galpin, the employee in the lot came over and **asked if he could help** rather than assuming. Anyone with a disability will appreciate that level of respect. He held the door for me and offered me a drink while I waited. Manny, the salesperson I spoke with the night before, came out with the keys and showed me the exact car we had discussed. When it was time to get into the car for the test drive, he again asked how he could help rather than assuming--another big plus for me. I simply asked him to hold my crutches since they normally sit in the passenger seat. The test drive went great, and everything felt straightforward and relaxed. The finance process took a little longer due to the paperwork, but again, it was very pleasant and completely transparent. There were no surprises. I did decide to add prepaid maintenance because I tend to keep my cars for a long time and prefer having them serviced at the dealership anyway. My wife and I drove an hour to get to Galpin because my research indicated they get high marks for transparency and non-pressure sales tactics. It was worth the drive. Our salesman Jose Juarez was exceptional. He was patient and helpful in showing the CX-30 models we were interested in and never tried to add on accessories or services we weren't interested in. I brought my brand new 2026 Mazda CX-30 in for multiple concerns and left extremely disappointed with the level of service I received. From the beginning, my concerns were dismissed rather than properly evaluated. When I explained that my wireless charger was not functioning correctly during normal use, I was repeatedly told "it works" after a very basic test that did not reflect real-world conditions. At one point, the advisor even placed her own phone on the charger and said "see, it works," which completely ignored the issue I was actually describing. The same approach was taken with my keyless entry concern. I was told "it works for me" after she opened the door herself, instead of taking the time to understand what I was experiencing. While it may have worked for her in that moment, this is my vehicle and my daily experience -- that distinction seemed to be overlooked entirely. The most frustrating part was the handling of a noise coming from my vehicle. After I insisted something was wrong, it was eventually identified as a bent brake shield. When I asked whether it had been replaced or repaired, I was told it was "fixed," followed by an implication that I must have caused the issue by hitting something or getting debris lodged in the car -- on a brand new vehicle. At no point did I feel listened to, respected, or taken seriously. Instead, I was met with a condescending and nonchalant attitude that made an already frustrating situation worse. I expect better communication and professionalism, especially when bringing in a new car under warranty. I do appreciate the other staff member who took the time to explain things clearly and respectfully, and I'm grateful it was an easy quick fix but overall this was not a positive experience. I was there for service and felt like Mayra and the other lady in the office are the only people who actually care to help customers. I asked several of the young men standing around doing nothing for help with something and I think they are so used to do nothing that they can't even help people with simple questions, I regret buying a car from this dealership, it's been one disaster after another and we bought a total of 4 cars from these people. I recently had a very disappointing experience at Galpin Mazda. I had an 11:00 AM appointment with a representative named Guillermo. I notified him that I was running a little late, and he told me he would be available at noon instead. I arrived around 12:15, but when I walked in, there was no one at the front desk or anywhere to assist me. At 12:30 I called, and the receptionist transferred me to Guillermo's voicemail. I left a message letting know I had arrived but never received a response. I called again around 1:00 PM to let him know I was leaving. That time he answered, but when I explained the situation and express my frustration in a reasonable way, he decided to end the phone call hanging up on me. This experience was incredibly unprofessional and frustrating, and it left me with a very negative impression of the dealership's customer service. I purchased my first brand-new car ever at Galpin Mazda this past April. It was a breeze, and I'm pleased with my decision to go to Galpin for such a monumental event. I had to replace my 24-year-old PT Cruiser, and a new Miata was the only car that I was considering. Via the Galpin website, I submitted a request for a test drive and my contact information, and Guillermo almost immediately texted me to follow up. He kept in contact with me to confirm my slot for the test drive, which assured me that he appreciated my time. On the day of the test drive, I met Guillermo and he showed me the Miata section of the lot. The test drive went well - I was allowed to take my boyfriend with me, and there was no time limit. I immediately loved driving the MX-5, but I spent maybe half an hour zipping around the area (North Hills) to make sure. I didn't feel rushed or nervous at all. Since I'd already made up my mind and the test drive cemented my decision, once back at the lot, I told Guillermo I wanted to move forward with purchasing a Miata. I had some specifications - I wanted a 2024, I wanted a certain colour, and I did not want a hard-top. Guillermo checked on a batch of incoming Miatas and one of them happened to be just what I specified. I put down a deposit that day. My 2024 Mazda Miata MX-5 Grand Touring arrived twenty days later. During the waiting period, Guillermo kept in touch with me to update me on the transport time. On my pick-up day, he went through and clearly explained the paperwork. The car was freshly washed, with a full tank of petrol, but right before they brought it to the front, I was led to another salesman's office to discuss service options/upgrades (I declined - they seemed like good deals; I would just have no use for them). Even though I wasn't expecting the upsells, I never felt anyone at Galpin was aggressively pushy, gruff, or shady in any way. Guillermo was incredibly professional and pleasant throughout my buying experience, as were the others with whom I briefly spoke. Two things to mention: one, I made things easier for them by paying upfront, in full, with a cashier's cheque - ergo, I can't comment on Galpin's leasing/financing options. Two, they made things easier for me by already having the car registered with paper license plates attached. I thought I'd have to go to the DMV to do that myself, which I'd been dreading - what a wonderful surprise! My experience with Galpin and Guillermo was beyond five stars, and my Miata is perfect. read more

I had an appointment today to get my oil changed here. I purchased my Mazda Certified Pre-Owned at the Mazda in Orange last year. It came with a service agreement with 2 complimentary service/ oil changes that could be used at other locations. This would've been the second oil change at Galpin. When I called to make the appointment I spoke to a nice guy and asked him specifically to make sure that this will be a complimentary service and he assured me that it would be. So I show up today and the service gal, Mayra, said because I purchased the car June 21st of 2024 that it no longer qualified for the free oil change because it was more than a year ago. I told her that I called and spoke to the guy yesterday specifically asking him that question and he said it would free. She said No it wouldn't. I asked her how much it would be and she said $150. I said No Thanks and left. So I took an extra few hours off work and drove 30 miles roundtrip for nothing. I am very disappointed. I've owned Mazdas since 2016 and have loved and respected their values but I'm rethinking this now. read more

Ok it's time I leave a review as I am absolutely flabbergasted after today's appointment. Trying not to make my review to long but let's get into it: I went for service on 2/22/2024 and after regular maintenance and their suggested repairs, one of them was to replace my rear shocks! It was filed under immediate attention. Quote was around $680. I did not find the time to get them fixed!!! I went today for my regular maintenance, so short of a year later from that previous maintenance. Again, received detailed information and suggested details on which things need immediate attention. The Shocks were NOT on that list. Matter of fact, they passed inspection with flying colors. So my shocks magically fixed themselves??? I think not!!!!! Either scamming back in feb 2024, or the mechanic than made a mistake. Either way, bad!!!!!! Second issue, my last maintenance on 2/22/2024 suggested my back brakes to replace which I did. Brand new brakes/pads, etc. I am not a professional but new Brakes last about 25k-60k miles... but today, less than a year and less than 10k miles my rear brakes did not pass inspections... how? I am not a race car driver. I drive my kid to and from school and run a few local errands. No wonder people don't trust dealerships and how often do we hear, women getting taken advantage of... well, not me! I ask questions and get second and third opinions!!! Ps. I have everything in writing and on paper. Receipts... so impossible for them to deny any of this. And hopefully they don't blame the mechanic for giving wrong information and suggestions because that could be very dangerous if anything happens on the road!!!!! read more
