I bought a car from Keyes Lexus, and my experience is a good example of what's wrong with the traditional dealership model. After the deal closed, I never got my finalized paperwork. I was told it would come once the bank opened Monday. It didn't, and I had to chase it down myself. When I finally read through the documents, I found $6,495 in extended warranty (VSA) and prepaid maintenance (PPM) added to my loan that I never agreed to. My sales rep Ronnie and finance manager Shayan had only mentioned a few complimentary oil changes, not a $6,500 package. If I hadn't caught it myself, I'd have paid for it for the life of the loan. To their credit, they did process the cancellation once I flagged it. But it took repeated follow-up on my end, and I never received an apology or any gesture of good faith to make things right. Terrible experience. As my lease was ending, they repeatedly called and pressured me to sign a new deal. I was told the new lease would be the same as my previous vehicle, but after taking delivery, I discovered that several digital features were missing. When I brought this up, the sales manager, Arman Chivichyan, told me it was my responsibility to check the car before signing. Apparently, it's acceptable for them to misrepresent a vehicle as long as the customer doesn't catch it. To make things worse, a week after I returned the car, they called and said the charger was missing and charged me for it. Ironically, the same sales manager, Arman Chivichyan, who told me it was my responsibility to make sure I was getting the car I was promised, said it wasn't their responsibility to check for missing items when the car was returned. As I go to buy the car we do a drive and all is good so we get to signing the deal. They tried to tack on $3,000.00 worth of bogus add ons. $1,000 battery warranty. Bro a better is $200 why would anyone insure it. $1,000 for some kind of low jack service I don't want. $1,000 for paint protection that I'm pretty sure isn't on there. Anyways, I walked from the deal 3-5 times and every time they took one off. I ended up getting the deal for the price I saw on the 3rd party site. Anyway the $3k in add ons is deceptive and a total scam. We recently bought a car for Culver's city Toyota and they pulled the same thing for $1,200 with of bogus accessories. Buyer beware when purchasing from Lexus of Keyes Valencia. I purchased a 2024 Lexus RZ 300e that was advertised and represented as a Premium trim. After discovering key Premium features were missing, I raised my concerns and was assured by dealership management that the vehicle was still properly represented. After the sale, the documentation I received did not match those representations. The vehicle was also sold as L/Certified, yet required items were missing at delivery and there were concerns with the accuracy of the certification inspection. I made multiple attempts to resolve these issues directly with the dealership and Lexus Corporate, but the response and follow-up have been disappointing. I went against my better judgement (and Keyes terrible reputation) and purchased a used car here with my son. Yep...that was a mistake! It first started with Moe, who assured us on the phone that he would sell the used car we wanted "in the $34,000's". Once at the dealership, he had already reneged on his deal and started negotiating at $35,500 and wasted 45 minutes of my time. Once the deal was agreed upon, it came time for the purchase and contracts. Moe had disappeared and we were passed from one person to the next (total of 4 people). The car was delivered with water spot stains all over the hood and only one key fob. We definitely did not feel like a valued customer. We were told to come back to have the water spots removed and get the additional key fob on Saturday. Well, the water spots were removed, but Moe and Jimmy said they don't have the key. Moe said he would get the key fob to to us, but instead, he did not reply to any calls, voicemails or texts for one week. We called, texted and went to the dealership in person THREE times. Moe and Jimmy's story changed each time we asked about the key. They didn't want to solve the problem, they just wanted to jerk us around. It took 11 days of trying to get the key fob. We just reached out to the GM and was successful in getting the key that should have been delivered once possession of the vehicle took place. You can not trust the dealership. This is the quickest paperwork processing I've ever experienced when buying a car. We test drove the car, driving around , and I really loved it. Later in the parking lot, we tried the self - parking option, but it was not working. That 's okay; no big deal. I can figure it out later. I am very happy with my new electric car. However, later on, I tried multiple times, and the self-parking feature was still nonfunctional . I called Ruman to get it fixed and taken care of with no hassle. Ruman always answers my calls and quickly replies to my text messages, even on his days off. Also, shout out to Andrew, the manager of the service department. Thank you for fixing my car correctly . Lexus in San Diego diagnosed that my driver mirror camera needed calibration and took them three days. Andrew and his technician diagnosed my car again, and there was nothing wrong with the driver mirror; the camera was still working. Andrew found out that my backup camera was not functioning . You could still see the camera when backing up the car, but the sensor was not working, so it wasn't braking when cars drove by closely . He replaced the new camera and recalibrated it; now the car is 100% working. I am very happy even though it took ten days to fix . Mostly, ordering parts took three to four days . Check the DOT numbers on your tires before you leave the lot. I wish someone had told me this sooner. I leased a brand new 2024 Lexus, only to later discover that the tires installed on my vehicle were manufactured in 2022--already two years old at the time of delivery. After doing my research, I learned that while 0-24 months is considered acceptable for a new car, tires older than 24 months are NOT standard and should be replaced when brought to the dealership's attention. When I notified Lexus of Van Nuys about this issue, I was told there was nothing they could do--despite industry guidelines and customer service standards saying otherwise. This kind of dismissive response feels dishonest and unprofessional. Please be cautious. Do not assume a "new car" automatically comes with new, current-year tires. Check everything before signing. My lease is ending soon, and because of this experience, I will not be returning or spending my hard-earned money at this dealership again. Overall, We had amazing experience at this Lexus. My mother has always had leases with Lexus and it was time to change her car again. We went to Glendale and Cerritos Lexus and had the most awful experiences. These dealerships have the most predatory and deplorable sales tactics and just customer services overall. They told my mom she had no chance of getting the new GX550. Both locations pushed for her to get a TX and offered a lowball offer for her trade in a 2023 Lexus GX460. I told my mother we should try Van Nuys as I had always been curious to visit. I am so glad we listened to our gut. As soon as we got there we were greeted by Samaneh , Manager of Lexus of Van Nuys and she was so nice and we told her our situation! She immediately got to work and showed us a GX550. This car was amazing to look at. The new GX's are scarce and for them to offer something that exceeded my mother's expectations made us really happy. The biggest thing is that they were able to figure out a good deal better then we can expect. They cared about our previous history of good clients and just respected our good relationship with lexus overall. We got some goodies and some great photos. It was just an incredible interaction.
