I bought a 2022 certified preowned WRX on 12/27/25 with 20k miles on it.. right away I noticed a sound from the engine area like a rubbing sound and one of my USB ports was loose and the suspension squeaked .. i dropped my car off Feb 4th.. I had a hard time getting a hold of them. I kept getting sent to voicemail. I would send them a text and they would not respond. Played cat and mouse for a couple days. . Long story short they had my car until February 12.. They called me to go pick it up.. When I got there, they made me pay $100 deductible to use my extended warranty.. mind you the car has 20,000 miles on it. It should be under the manufacturers warranty still.. not only that I just bought it a month ago how did it pass certified preowned inspection with all the problems that it has (see the attached pictures for what they found wrong with it). yes, I called Subaru America and there's an open case for an investigation on it... but this is the best part of it all when I got there to pick up my car , at first they couldn't find it.. then proceeded to tell me that my car was parked down at the Van Nuys courthouse and that that was their "overflow" parking 2-3 miles away.. i call B.S. now I'm still trying to get my $100 dollars back and I keep getting sent to Voicemail and dodged. AND.. they didn't even repair the speakers or the port .. they're on order supposedly.. read more

**Note: they charge $280 for a diagnostic. I took my Subaru here a few weeks ago and received a quote for over $7k of work. Not only was I shocked, there was absolutely no way I could afford it. It also took them three days to get a diagnosis and they would not offer a loaner. I subsequently took the car to another Subaru dealership and am now going to be able to have all of the necessary repairs done (by a dealer) for less than $2800. This place is an absolute joke. When I went to pick up the car, I was told that they were waiving the diagnostic fee. I don't know what the reason for that was, but I'm sure my upset over the situation was clear. I have told many Subaru-owning friends about this experience and will continue to spread the word to others that they should avoid this place at all costs. Service centers that try to take advantage of women/upcharge and upsell in excess should be ashamed of themselves. The worst part of this whole experience? My service advisor was also a woman. Shame on you. On a semi-related note: while I was here, two other customers were extremely upset at their respective service providers. This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I arrived on time for my appointment and waited in my car for over thirty minutes without being helped. I was the very first car in line, yet another vehicle that pulled up at least fifteen minutes after me was assisted before I was, even though I pointed out the situation. It was clear that my presence and time did not matter to them. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was not just there for service, I also intended to look at purchasing a new Subaru during my visit. That means they didn't just lose my trust in their service department, they lost out on a potential vehicle sale as well. I asked to speak to a manager twice, and still, no one came to acknowledge or address my concerns. The lack of professionalism and courtesy shows that no one at this location truly cares about their customers. Before I left, I told them I wanted to cancel my appointment. I even asked one of the desk representatives if they needed my name, and he casually replied "no," showing no interest whatsoever. Then they wanted to charge me $10 to replace the 10 cent battery inside the key. Then they told me that they did not have a Forester as a loaner, after being told that they would ensure the same car I am leaving (Forester) as a loaner, 4 weeks ago when I made the reservation. They said they were out. You would think that they would reserve one when making the appointment!! Then after all this, the loaner they gave me was dirty, covered in tree sap. When asked if they would wash it, I was quoted a 2.5 hour wait. Terrible terrible terrible. Extremely disappointed in the way I was treated as a long time customer ( bought my Outback from them)... I recently made a service appointment for 11:45 online, I arrived on time and upon entering the lot, I got into a small line of cars also there for apts. 30 minutes in line before an agent approaches only to say 'we are short handed because everyone is out to lunch' and will be with you shortly.. another 30 minutes go by and still waiting to get assistance. A few minutes later another agent asks me to move my car out of line so they can assist a customer behind me in line (?)... I comply and 15 minutes later finally someone comes to help me with service. My driver side mirror was knocked off by someone in the middle of the night and I needed it replaced and needed a new set of windshield wipers. When he gave me a quote ($69 per wiper blade/part, and approx $1600+ ) I was shocked and couldn't believe it (!!!!????) Of course they did not have either of the parts in house and they couldn't tell me a timeline to service correctly. WTF Subaru? Price gouging is really not a good look especially in today's economy. Despite my faith in Subaru of Sherman Oaks in the past, this horrible experience has ruined my trust in you and your service team. Just out of curiosity I went online to find out what this part really costs (subarupartsplus.com) - shocked to find how much more my dealer was over charging.. A basic wiper blade : $29.65 ($69 is considerably high mark up) Door mirror for Outback ($165.76/$100 for mirror cover)... again huge mark up! Is the ridiculous quote additional labor? Plus, agent tells me that if I didn't like the quote I should file a claim with my insurance (sure and my monthly bill goes up !) I'm at my wits end and can't imagine ever recommending Subaru to anyone. I am not a car broker but a Car Finder (I do not charge the dealership a fee for bringing them a customer; that is actually part of how I get the best deal in town). And working with Sherman Oaks Subaru was fantastic. My customer had found me and Don't Go To The Dealer! on Yelp and hired me to find him the exact car that he wanted. After canvassing 25 Subaru dealerships to find the "Needle in the Haystack" best deal in town, I brought that deal to Jose Gabriel and he beat it! It is not an easy thing to do (and there weren't many manual BRZ's out there) but Jose was a true professional and gave me confidence that he would honor the lowest price in town for my customer. There was a little hiccup in price so I spoke with the Sales Manager, Logan Clark, who smoothed it over. Jose was great to work with, very repsonsive and took care of the paperwork and everything through giving the keys to my customer. Normally, I try to get the cars I negotiate delivered but this wasn't possible at this dealership. My customer reported to me that the entire transaction and experience at the dealership went quickly and smoothly as I had promised him it would as part of my service. Changing my previous bad review to a good one. Yes, I had frustrating scheduling issues around getting a badly cracked windshield fixed, but both Subaru Of Sherman Oaks and Subaru did right by me. My car is just out of waranty, but the service tech asked Subaru to cover the cost of both the cracked windshield and the rental car while it was being fixed under the extended warranty. Subaru agreed. Then there was another problem: the Eyesight camera wouldn't calibrate after the windshield was installed. A new one would need to be installed. A new camera is $5000. That wasn't covered under the extended warranty, but the service rep asked Subaru to cover it as a "good faith" repair. Again, Subaru agreed. Can't ask for much better service by either the dealership or the corporation. They did right by me. read more

By far the worst experience ever! I have a busy schedule, so I made an appointment. I arrived on time, only to be taken in 30 minutes later. Then I was promised the service would be completed within a 2 hour time frame. I patiently waited for over two hours in their lobby. The entire time, there was no update or communication from the advisor. I finally went to check on my vehicle -- it had never even been taken in for service! It was still parked in the exact same spot I left it. I am on my third owned Subaru and have been a returning customer for over 10 years. No -- this is not okay. This is a completely honest review from somebody who hates dealing with car salesmen and dealerships... I was on the hunt for a new Forester and was ready to trade in my 21' crosstrek. I had been dealing with a few Subaru dealerships in the area and was becoming increasingly frustrated at the experience. That is, until I came across Sherman Oaks Subaru. I had submitted an online inquiry for a new forester and got an email and phone call within about 10 minutes. The email contained an awesome offer for the car I wanted which included a generous amount off the MSRP. I got the call from Tamaz and set up an appointment. I was surprised at how prompt and professional he was over the phone, yet still skeptical that this would be a smooth and easy experience. That is, until the next day when I met with Tamaz. I arrived and he showed me the Forester limited as well as the wilderness, as I requested to see this one too before I made my choice. I decided to go with the wilderness. I cannot explain how smoothly this went. He came back with all the numbers and it was just what I was looking to pay, in terms of monthly payments. There were no added fees, expenses, etc. No games, no scams; just straightforward and easy to understand. "How could this be?" I thought to myself.
