One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Subaru dealership - would highly recommend not coming to this location. I dropped off my car for service on a Saturday and was told I would get it back by Tuesday. It's now been about 2 weeks and every day I contact them they assure me it'll be just "one more day." The service technician Manny was rude and unprofessional. When I called to speak to him, one person told me he was busy and another told me he was taking a day off. When I finally got a quote for my repairs after 10 days, it was more than double the quote I got from another place. Very disappointed in this customer service and I won't be back. I called to make an appointment for my Subaru. They ask me on the phone what the problem was and I told them. I scheduled the appointment, cleared my calendar and made arrangements to drop off my car. This is also across town from me. When I showed up to the appointment, they asked me again. What was the problem? I told them and they agreed. I was going to need a new tire pressure sensor. Which is exactly what I had told them when I made the appointment. They said they would need my car for a few days and unfortunately, they did not have a rental car for me. (I have an extended warranty so a loaner car is part of my package.) Not sure why you would schedule an appointment for somebody who most likely is going to need a rental car and then not have one there. So needless to say I couldn't leave my car and they asked me to come back next week. They said they would need my car for a few days. I tried to reach the service manager to make sure that there would be a car and I wouldn't jump through hoops to get my car there and not be able to leave it. I called two different days and left a message for a service manager to return my call. No service manager ever returned my call. Terrible customer service. I will say that the gentleman that helped me at the dealership was lovely. But I would never recommend this dealership. read more

We had a very disappointing experience working with Elan while trying to purchase a Subaru Forester. We spoke with Elan and agreed on a price for a specific Subaru Forester. After driving an hour and a half to the dealership for our agreed-upon appointment, he called us one minute before we arrived to say the car had already been sold and that he "didn't know". Unbeknownst to Elan, we found out through another car salesman that the car had been sold a few hours earlier. He immediately tried to sell us a different vehicle. I purchased my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek because Subaru claims 97% of the vehicles it sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today. I planned to keep mine well beyond a decade. Instead, after 100K miles, the repair costs exploded thus making me question the data used for that statistic. For the first 100,000 miles, my Crosstrek performed reasonably well aside from minor issues. After crossing that mileage threshold, the ownership experience changed dramatically. In Nov 2025, I paid $599 for radiator service. Six months later, a radiator crack caused overheating that melted the head gaskets and seals, requiring a tow from Norwalk to the SF Valley and then to Subaru Sherman Oaks. Subaru Sherman Oaks quoted $9,157, then $8,800, and finally $6,682 only after I questioned the pricing. A trusted independent mechanic reviewed the work done and estimated the job at $3,000. 9 days later, the thermostat light returned due to an incorrectly installed clamp, requiring yet another tow and an extra $100 out of pocket. Subaru also never tells owners that after a battery change, you must complete a 7‑step drive cycle just to pass smog. Sherman Oaks said it would take two weeks to complete this drive cycle with no loaner available. A specialist mechanic did it in one day. I trusted Subaru's reliability claims. My experience has been the opposite. I cannot see myself purchasing or leasing another Subaru unless the vehicle and its maintenance were provided for free. I am deeply disappointed in a brand I once trusted. Subaru -- do better. read more

One of the worst dealership experiences I've had. Before coming in, I made it clear I don't like dealerships because of the games and lowball tactics they're known for. I was told things would be straightforward. Instead, the sales manager did exactly what gives car salespeople their reputation with presenting a typical low trade-in offer. His credibility instantly plummeted, followed by predictable excuses. This wasn't a normal negotiation gap. It felt like a deliberate attempt to see if I'd accept a bad deal. That was enough for me. I walked, and I won't be back for anything, not sales, not service, nothing. If this is how they start a relationship, there's no reason to trust them with your business. **Note: they charge $280 for a diagnostic. I took my Subaru here a few weeks ago and received a quote for over $7k of work. Not only was I shocked, there was absolutely no way I could afford it. It also took them three days to get a diagnosis and they would not offer a loaner. I subsequently took the car to another Subaru dealership and am now going to be able to have all of the necessary repairs done (by a dealer) for less than $2800. This place is an absolute joke. When I went to pick up the car, I was told that they were waiving the diagnostic fee. I don't know what the reason for that was, but I'm sure my upset over the situation was clear. I have told many Subaru-owning friends about this experience and will continue to spread the word to others that they should avoid this place at all costs. Service centers that try to take advantage of women/upcharge and upsell in excess should be ashamed of themselves. The worst part of this whole experience? My service advisor was also a woman. Shame on you. On a semi-related note: while I was here, two other customers were extremely upset at their respective service providers. One was an elderly woman who was crying and another was an irate middle-aged man. In sum: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. read more

This place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I arrived on time for my appointment and waited in my car for over thirty minutes without being helped. I was the very first car in line, yet another vehicle that pulled up at least fifteen minutes after me was assisted before I was, even though I pointed out the situation. It was clear that my presence and time did not matter to them. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was not just there for service, I also intended to look at purchasing a new Subaru during my visit. That means they didn't just lose my trust in their service department, they lost out on a potential vehicle sale as well. I asked to speak to a manager twice, and still, no one came to acknowledge or address my concerns. The lack of professionalism and courtesy shows that no one at this location truly cares about their customers. Before I left, I told them I wanted to cancel my appointment. I even asked one of the desk representatives if they needed my name, and he casually replied "no," showing no interest whatsoever. I bought a 2022 certified preowned WRX on 12/27/25 with 20k miles on it.. right away I noticed a sound from the engine area like a rubbing sound and one of my USB ports was loose and the suspension squeaked .. i dropped my car off Feb 4th.. I had a hard time getting a hold of them. I kept getting sent to voicemail. I would send them a text and they would not respond. Played cat and mouse for a couple days. . Long story short they had my car until February 12.. They called me to go pick it up.. When I got there, they made me pay $100 deductible to use my extended warranty.. mind you the car has 20,000 miles on it. It should be under the manufacturers warranty still.. not only that I just bought it a month ago how did it pass certified preowned inspection with all the problems that it has (see the attached pictures for what they found wrong with it). yes, I called Subaru America and there's an open case for an investigation on it... but this is the best part of it all when I got there to pick up my car , at first they couldn't find it.. then proceeded to tell me that my car was parked down at the Van Nuys courthouse and that that was their "overflow" parking 2-3 miles away.. i call B.S. now I'm still trying to get my $100 dollars back and I keep getting sent to Voicemail and dodged.
