Flavor on that banh mi heo quay 10/10 for houston area. I think it's the BEST banh mi heo quay in Houston. The skin is still crunchy and the meat is still soft. The veggies are plentiful. I've been searching and hoping to find it as close to the banh mi heo Quay in Vietnam but it's never gonna be that good in Texas but this is second best. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

First time here and saw the good reviews on the Bánh Mì's and they are right! The bread is fresh and the meat is nice and hot and the veggies are nice and crunchy! I will be back to try more items :)

Credit card payment accepted The service was great and when one of our diners requested no onion and no cilantro on a few dishes, the diner was heard. As for the food chefs kiss. Portions are pretty big here. Egg rolls seasoned well and crispy Banh beo is a wet topping my favorite. And the size is not your average tiny little ones. Bò Né - sizzling beef & egg plate flavorful and tender meat and some lap xuong (Chinese sausage) We mentioned we are sharing it as group appetizer, they brought us enough bread/pate/vietnamese mayo to be shareable. Pho portion looks generous. One diner got tripe, but the tripe flavor over powered the broth. I was recommended Bánh Đa Cua (new item off the menu) You can have an option of stone pot bowl or regular bowl. It's a very comforting and rich pork, crab, tomato broth filled with lots of toppings. It's a popular dish in the U.S. but here's a better breakdown of it. https://www.fifteen.net/recipes/banh-da-cua/ Overall I would come back I love the options I can get if I want banh mi, rice plate, or soup.

Absolutely delicious and bang for your buck! Came here after a six hour tattoo session, so I was hungry! Got the Bo Ne (Baguette with Steak, eggs, Chinese sausages, and vegetables). It absolutely did not disappoint! All that food (pictured below) for $17 (after tax). Absolutely worth it and bang for your buck. Friendly and prompt service, and calm vibe for a relaxing meal. The family sitting next to me ordered pho, and that looked super delicious as well. This place is an absolute must for Vietnamese food enthusiasts!

Visiting any Vietnamese Banh Mi restaurant off Bellaire Blvd, competition is amazing for us consumers. It makes Banh Mi elevated to another level, the minor changes a restaurant can make, can be a big deal in a competitive Banh Mi market. The banh mi xiu mai, is one of the best I've had off Bellaire and I am now a return customer. Yes, my favorite restaurant is, Don Deli Banh Mi but now, I don't think Don or even Lee Sandwich can compare. -better crispier bread -fresh inside soft bread, pillowy -big cuts of daikon and carrots (great idea, you can taste the freshness of each vegetable, like pickle on them, I prefer the bigger cuts) -fresh meat ingredients, love how the xiu mai are big chunks of meat balls This restaurant does not skimp out on meat and I love it. Big meats, big vegetables, big long banh mi rolls. Pate is very pronounced and I love it.

Fast and friendly service Cleanliness Good portion and quality A bit steep on price however (most places are charging +$15 which I find a bit ridiculous not just this place) I also tried their heo quay banh mi which was pretty good. I believe its buy 5 get 1 free.

so this place is off the beaten path of china town bellaire but it's worth it!!! i think it's one of the best combination banh mi sandwhich i've had in a long time! i ordered to go, veggies on the side, no toast. i toasted at home and it's still just as tasty as if it was just made by VBM and Pho. They are generous on the pate and butter. Good amount of meat to bread ratio. There's a hidden surprise sausage in there that elevates the dish but i won't give it away! you have to try for yourself! There's also meat floss inside which is something new for me! I also had the thit nuong (grilled pork) banh mi and it was tasty as well! definitely coming back for more!!!

    Chả Giò (Vietnamese Egg roll)

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after hearing about this place earlier in the week at work. It is located in an older shopping center on Beechnut and the parking lot was packed. I walked in and the restaurant was busy but not packed. We were greeted and shown to a seat promptly. I ordered a bánh mì đặc biệt, bánh mì bò nướng, chả giò and bánh bèo Huế. The chả giò (Vietnamese Egg rolls) were good. Crispy and the pork inside was juicy and tasted great. The bánh mì đặc biệt was packed with meat and veggies and there was a generous amount of patê. It tasted very good. The bread was not as crispy as I like but not bad. The bánh mì bò nướng was also very good. The meat was tender and flavorful. It was one of the better tasting bánh mì bò nướng as far as the meat goes. The star of the show for me was the bánh bèo Huế! Bánh bèo is a steamed rice cake with dried shrimp, ground mung beans , diced crisp pork rinds, and scallions. This is not a dish I find on many menus, so I had to order it because I really like it. This bánh bèo did not disappoint at all. I added a spoonful of nước chấm, pried it out of the dish and gobbled it down. It was magnificent! I would definitely come back for that. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was typical of most Vietnamese restaurants I've been to where people are friendly but busy, so do not expect long conversations from the staff. However the waiter was very polite and helpful when I asked him a few questions about the menu. I did try to order bánh mì phá lẩu but they were out. Next time I will come earlier. I am also interested in trying the bún bò Huế and bò né next time I come by.

Bo Ne (Beef Steak Cubes) with 2 complimentary breads
    Thao N.

Bánh mì heo quay (Roasted Pork Sandwich) was a great hit. Unique, flavorful & crunchy! Bò Né (Beef Steak Cubes & Eggs), Pho & Bun Bo Hue were very average. We've had them better at other places for either slightly cheaper price or more generous portions. They've currently stopped serving rice plates & other special dishes. They only accept orders for Banh Mi, Pho & Bun Bo Hue at the moment. Service was quite unpleasant. The server who took our order had an attitude with everyone and raised his voice at the coworker when he asked him something.

Nice but not always clean. Various choice. Servers doesn't learn the menu very well.

The filling is placed in a pan and then a thin layer of batter made with tumeric and coconut milk yellow batter is poured on top. You wrap the lettuce around the bánh xèo/bánh khọt and dip it in the fish sauce. I got the bánh khọt and the bò né. Bánh khọt is like a mini, thicker version of bánh xèo and came with nine pieces. Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. It's nice having an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in our area, close to us, so we don't have to make the trek to Bellaire every time we crave some Viet food!

I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. (#3) Boh-Neh. Not bone.

When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The restaurant is clean, the owner is very nice, and it's a nice low key space to just enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

It didn't take long to receive our order. They offer reusable wooden chopsticks. Will plan to try the other dishes other than Pho like rice plates next time.

It comes in a set of 2 but we got a 3 pack! I ordered the grilled branzino and let me tell you! That chimichurri sauce !! Clutch! It is demonetisation and truly grilled to perfection. My friends ordered the filet mignon and the chicken and they were equally as impressed! I ordered the espresso mousse for dessert which comes out in the shape of a coffee bean. Cuteeee and perfect! This place didn't disappoint and it is a must visit.

This is a higher end fine dining restaurant so you should expect the portion sizes and price to be pretty comparable to a lot of other finer dining restaurants. Overall the food's flavor was fantastic. I ordered the king salmon clay pot. I thought the salmon was so tasty! They added pepper and sauce to the salmon - It was tender and flavorful and paired nicely with white rice. The quail (not pictured below) also was super flavorful and was cooked so well it tasted like beef. The soup was also light and refreshing, similar to a west lake soup. It was thicker consistency and had cilantro and chucks of lobster. The drinks served were also super balanced. We ordered the mojito and the dragon fruit cocktail. The mojito was the right balance between minty and sweet with just a hint of alcohol flavor. For the dragon fruit cocktail, it was very fruity, on the sweeter side but not overpowering and was topped with egg whites to give it a little bit of frothiness. I will say, we are slightly underdressed to enter this establishment. Everything seemed so luxurious and many people were in formal business wear! Keep this in mind if you go! There is a parking deck right next to the location as well, both self parking and valet!
