Vampire bar

Cool, kitschy bar, totally packed and busy during the day! I imagine it would be crazy packed at night! We had the Fangria blood bags!!! Good stuff! You get the password to go to the speakeasy if you want....or dare.....

Came to this (not over the top) vampire themed restaurant while visiting NOLA, and enjoyed the experience. The worn brick, detailed ironwork on walls and windows, and gold embellished ceiling tiles over the bar help give the interior a warm, castle like feel. I don't know of any other place where you can get an assortment of cocktails in a blood bag, which is their main gimmick. I opted for the sangria, which was very good. My husband ordered the Eggs Your Way, and I split the Vampire Breakfast Burger with a friend. His breakfast was good, though not great, as the biscuit and potatoes were a bit overdone. The burger was very good, as were the side of french fries. The only issue was that there was some sort of disconnect between the waitress and kitchen, and the burger didn't get to our table until everyone else in our large party had eaten. This is a great spot to visit and enjoy something unique. Seats fill up quickly, so plan ahead.

This cute and cozy joint is right near the Bourbon Street area. Stopped in for a light bite. I decided on a beer flight and charcuterie board. I was delighted with the board , the cheeses were so good. The beer flight was a good size and I had some nice local beers. I can't say enough about the service - and the atmosphere. If you are looking for a place to rest your weary bones while downtown, this is a great spot.

We did not stop for a full menu order or even sit in. The host at the front was absolutely amazing and helpful with giving us the go to, how-to obtain a "blood bag drink!" If you choose not to sit in and eat or drink, the side order window will suffice enough. This establishment is unique. The blood drink bags are also a popular item to have and enjoy while walking through the Krewe of Boo vibes and NOLA 364. Y'all have fun. Stay awhile.

Great wines and appetizers. I ordered a glass of the Vampire Cabernet and the Blackened Trio which had Alligator, Shrimp and Salmon. It didn't take long to get both. The Blackened Trio was really good. I wish it was a little bigger. They really sell the Vampire theme inside with the decorations and food options. Grade: A

We planned our girls trip to New Orleans around all things spooky, so the Vampire cafe was a necessary stop on the itinerary, and the vibe was everything we thought it would be. The brick and iron work inside the restaurant was stunning, and the tables and settings helped the gothic vibe. Soft light shone through caged windows, but just enough for the restaurant to still feel like a dimly lit hideaway. The food menu has vegetarian options which are clearly marked, I ordered the veggie burger. It was stacked with two patties and marked with a V, an order of potato chips were served on the side. It was a generous plate and that had me at first bite, the food was delicious. Unfortunately they were out of their infamous blood bags, which both the hostess and server were kind enough to let us know. The upside to that is they have an excellent blood themed cocktail menu. I ordered the B+ whiskey cocktail, also called blood and sand, which probably gets its name from the demura sugar crystals that were sitting in the bottom of the martini glass. Served with a cherry, this is a sweet and fun drink. My friend was celebrating her birthday, so our server offered her a birthday shot, which was made with bailey's, kaluah, and something else I can't recall. I had a sip, it tasted quite nice. When receiving the bill they give you vampire bite temporary tattoos and a ticket to their speakeasy bar Potions. We had the best time and service here, our server was amazing!

A quirky vessel to stroll around with in NOlA. Appreciate the easy click and close feature. the beverage inside was a light sangria wine which is good for day drinking - better quality in my opinion so no hangover.

this was SUCH a cool experience! despite being busy, it is worth the wait for the ambience & experience. as the menu is a bit small, there's stuff for vegetarians & meat eaters here :) i think the coolest part was how into it they got with the gothic vamperic decorations at the table & surrounding you, the blood bags (alcoholic & non alcoholic!), & even on the food! the food was pretty tasty as well, the staff was super sweet & i think it's a pretty good stop to make if you're ever in NOLA :)

The Vampire Café in New Orleans has a cool vampire-inspired atmosphere that makes the experience unique. The service was good, and the shrimp and mashed potatoes were delicious. I just wish there were more options for vegetarians and those following a halal diet, as the menu felt a bit limited in variety.

Very cool experience and fitting for the town. Went during lunch time and it was pretty packed. Decor, atmosphere and table setting fits the theme. Service was fine, our server was friendly and pretty fast even tho it was busy. Avocado toast was good, with pickled onions and smoked salmon on a crispy bread. Chicken and waffles dish was so good, chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly with crispy skin and I appreciated it being 1/2 of actual chicken instead of known breaded meat, waffle was fluffy. They have good regular drinks that we tried but blood bags drinks were a show stopper! Sangria option looks just like the actual thing because it's darker (which I tried later) but we opted out for second option. Still looked unique and tasted delicious. Will definitely come back next time I'm in NOLA.

This place is so fun! The service was great and we only had to wait about a half hour for a table. The sangria blood bag is SO FUN! And tasty! The food was good too! We got gumbo and it was mild but delish, It's the perfect spot for a little Halloween New Orleans visit.

True Blood fans come to this place for the fun photo opp of drinking out of a blood bag. They have alcoholic ($15) and non-alcoholic ($9) versions. 4 stars instead of 5 because I ordered the ribeye medium well (don't come at me!) And it was served bloody red so I asked them to re-fire it and while the outside looked more cooked (the pieces were already sliced) the inside was still pinky red. It tasted fine but I didn't want to send it back a second time. Staff is quick and attentive. My daughter loved the decor in the main dining area, bar and bathroom! Fun to try!

Crème brûlée
Kyanna G.

We came in for apps & dessert- the creme brûlée was outstanding. The little chocolate bats were good, dark chocolate. The Brussels were more steamed or boiled and not roasted- the flavor was ok, they had a soggy texture. The staff members were professional and prompt. The decor was nice- classy.

We planned to have dinner here and was seated in a casual area with lower tables. While nice to sit for a casual drink was not up to par for parties who planned to dine in. Our first server we asked to move had declined our request. Stating there wasn't any room to accommodate. Which to be fair is fair when it's a Saturday night. However, we had made reservations and was astonished this wasn't an accommodation for a party they knew was coming in ahead of time. Thankfully, my friend went up to the host to request a table change, and was eventually accommodated with a booth. Booth can sit 6 people comfortably and 7 was a tad squish so they immediately offered an ottoman for someone to sit in the end. Food was delicious, most of us ordered the steak and frites.

However, a few of our drinks took longer than expected to arrive, which temporarily paused the fun and conversation while we wondered where they were. That aside, the staff were all very pleasant. You'll find street parking and there were some parking garages within walking distance.

(they have a sister business bar, but the internet told me they didn't open until 3 or after and the show I was attending was at 2:30...so The Apothecary it was!) It was super busy, I think there may have been a special or private brunch event. But bar seating was open. If you like absinthe, this is a place to try. They have a lot of cocktails based on that spirit. I saw other ones though, one with lavendar and one with gin and peaflower (I am a sucker for a color changing drank). I ended up going for the gin and peaflower one. And it tasted good but, it did have "spritz" in it's name and I expected it to be a bit lighter on the tongue and perhaps with a fizz. It will pack a punch, it is a sipper of a drink...it is almost all booze and has a thicker mouthfeel, if you will. The flavor is great, but I guess I just expected something a little different with the name of the drink. They do have food, but we had just had a brunch and didn't need much. But there was truffle popcorn that I opted to get as a snack in between boozy sips of my pretty purple cocktail. I enjoyed my visit here and would certainly recommend it if this is your vibe.
