We stopped in on a Friday at 3 and it was packed so we were hopeful. We were sat pretty quickly and a waitress took our drink orders, I got the peach Bellini and my husband got an adios. Both drinks were great. I got the pan seared salmon with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, my husband got the alligator poboy sandwich. I loved my meal (except the sprouts but that's completely a me thing) and my husband enjoyed his sandwich but noted that the chips were a little burnt but otherwise great. Over all the aesthetics were on point and the staff was very friendly. read more

The experience is great, the ambience is perfect, the drinks are fun, and the food is delicious. Don't be scared to try the alligator! Easily one of my favorite meals since being in NOLA, doesn't help that I am also a big vampire fanatic. But even if you just need a good meal and tasty drinks please stop by the vampire cafe ! Not to mention the staff is so sweet and they give out free temporary tattoos and even a little surprise if you're lucky ;) read more

Great spot for a quick bite. We ordered: - AB+ sazerac - O- blackberry mojito; sooo yummy, but don't drink with a straw (seeds at the bottom of the glass) - shrimp and grits; hands down the BEST thing I ate my entire visit in NOLA - dracula burger; the meat was good but the bread was way too thick Molly was our server and she was really nice! read more

Unfortunately, this place really didn't meet our expectations! The food wasn't really that great and the wait for the food was so long. We were seated pretty fast when we got to this place and the waiter seemed super nice! However, they forgot so many of our dishes and we waited over an hour or so for the food to come out. The desserts were good but the food itself was disappointing given we had to wait for it for so long. I wanted to like this place because it seemed popular but I definitely don't think we'll be visiting again. read more

Didn't have to make a reservation but the service was just...ok waitress forgot to place my order for my drink and took a while to get us our cutlery after getting our food I had the tomato salad that was good and i will recommend the salmon as well . Fun place to go for the "blood bags" but it's a pre-made drink and it tastes kind of plastic-y read more

The vibe is fine, definitely overhyped. The bar service was mediocre and not very attentive. The blackened bites appetizer were extremely small portions and the alligator was so chewy that most could not be eaten. The blood bags are gimmicky and watched them make the mix in front of us the entire time, and there is hardly no liquor in them. The best part was watching a waiter, eat food on the side of the restaurant in plain view, lick his fingers, and then grab some napkins and silverware to put on a table, and grab some waters which he held towards the top of the rim and give them to a table. read more

This was a go to during the epic snow storm last year but with few choices available and the convenience being a block from the hotel that was great. This visit we wanted to make a stop in and I was craving the lamb stew. We got there to find they were all out of lamb stew and were not sure when they might have it. So opted for burgers. My burger the first time came out overcooked and dry. Was very disappointed in our meal. The staff there were great and service was amazing but disappointed in the meals we received. Love the history that is a part of this restaurant and the drinks there are pretty amazing and interesting. It brought back many fond memories of our prior visit read more

This location used to pop up on my Facebook feed all the time until I followed the account and was one of many reasons I wanted to visit New Orleans with my love of vampires. Having read some reviews beforehand, I had low expectations but wanted to experience it for myself. First, the interior is very sparsely decorated and quite small. There are some vampire decor but not as much. I did enjoy the place setting for the tables and thought that was a nice touch. Second, I ordered the drink that came in the blood bag for the novelty and was a fun little experience to remember. From there, it went down hill. We arrived around 6pm, still quite early in the evening. Everything we wanted to order they were out of which I found hard to believe as they are open until quite late. We ended up offering the garlic appetizer and it was basically hot cloves of garlic to smear on bread, and while I like garlic, it was underwhelming and would've preferred garlic infused butter. Then we ordered the pork belly and found them tough and underseasoned and lackluster. The entree I chose for myself was salmon with the Brussels and mash, which was not my first choice so it was settling, and found that the price was way over for what I would pay as this is a dish I could've made at home. The best part were the chocolate bats. Would I return, I could be convinced but I will ask ahead of time if they have things in stock on the menu before dining in read more

We had a great experience, dining here. I very much appreciated. The food recommendations we got from the server. They were custom to what was available that night, and not simply generic recommendations. The atmosphere was nice and all the food we had was a hit. I'm not much into the kitschy kind of cocktails, but other people enjoyed them. Overall, this was a solid choice as a tourist destination. read more

First time came to NOLA and this restaurant for lunch. The dish didn't have coconut taste or blend in at all but sour. I suspected the tofu was not fresh but sour. The Caesar salad tasted awful. It took long the food ready to bring to our table. Server's service ok! Dining area was small. The seafood gumbo was ok but the Rice was like not cook done. One star was only for the server's service. ~~ 7/1/26 read more

This is 100% a tourist trap and I don't care. Every post on social media suggested the Vampire Cafe so it was at the top of our to do list. We got here right when it opened. We were lucky that we got seated immediately because the inside is small so it can fill up fast. The inside was vampire themed but it's very subtle. I guess they try to make it look themed but don't want it to look cluttered They do have a decent size menu but the main reason people come in is for the drinks. They have cocktails served in blood bags but I was so disappointed when they told me they ran out of them. The food was great. I had the breakfast burger and it was top notch. The fried egg was cooked exactly how I like it. My mom got the salmon eggs Benedict and she really enjoyed it. The Vampire may be gimmicky but I enjoyed it. I do recommend it if you want something different read more

My wife had already paid a visit to the Vampire Café the last time we were in New Orleans; only I was predisposed at a conference and couldn't join her. On this most recent trip, I made sure I had the opportunity to experience the glories of a blood bag within the dining and bar area with its vampiric-like aura. The interior features yellow-cream-colored walls for most of the dining area, contrasted by the blood-red walls of the bar area, which is adorned with gargoyles perched on top of the liquor shelves, overlooking us all. Had we just gone for drinks, or were it just a party of two, we would probably have sat at the bar. But we had three in our party, so we grabbed a table by the tall liquor cabinet. I love the gold dining ware and the blood-red napkin setup, representing a crucifix and a bat, respectively. Our server was very friendly and had us started with drinks, which I started with their bloodiest mary that was, for lack of a better word, bloody good, with a garnish of pickled green beans and an olive. The blood bag was in the opposite direction, comprising a fruity sangria that was very satisfying for an afternoon cocktail. For food, the elephant garlic was gloriously delicious, rich and gorgeous in mouthfeel. We worked on that for a little bit. The only part of the experience that was disappointing was the braised pork belly due to the chewiness and the lack of flavor. I didn't even both finishing it because it just wasn't satisfying. Despite the one hiccup selection with the pork belly, the Vampire Cafe is a fun spot that has the ambiance and vibes for those who enjoy being a little vampy. read more

I have been coming to New Orleans for years-love visiting the French Quarter! And somehow I've never heard of this place. This was my best friend's first time to NOLA, and she wanted to try this place out. I have no idea how she found it, but I'm so glad she did! 1. Vampires theme is awesome! We went during the day so there was some sunlight inside, but it is mostly dark and mysterious. We also received vampire bite temporary tattoos with our check-which we loved!! 2. Food was great! We came for a light lunch and shared the pork belly appetizer and a slice of purple velvet cake. They were running out of some desserts, but our waitress was nice and let us claim a slice of cake when we sat down. 3. Drinks! The cocktail list is an assortment of blood types. Additionally you could get a bloodbag in either a sangria or pink lemonade flavor. My friend got the Fangria blood bag and I got the O+ cocktail. So creative and delicious! When we were done with the meal and drinks, my friend ordered the tea leaf reading. It was cool but not what I expected. Essentially you receive a QR code to read your leaves once you finish your tea. My friend's future looks bright so we can't complain, but there are probably better tea reading options in the French Quarter. I enjoyed the vampire cafe. I would come back to show more people, but I'm not sure I would come back alone. The novelty might be lost on me if I came alone, but it would be nice to share it with someone else who loves vampires! read more

Love love the Vampire Cafe. The food was one of our favorites on our short trip to NOLA. Super memorable!!! Definitely on the top of my to-do list for vampire lovers visiting New Orleans. First, I want to recommend to put your name down when you aren't so hungry. Wait times tend to be a little long, you can also call to ask how long their wait time is as well. They'll shoot you a text when your table is ready. Makes it more convenient to walk around (lots to see in the area!) while you're waiting. The ambiance is like no other. It feels like you're in a spooky dungeon! So cool!! The employees here are so so sweet and kindhearted here, too. Our server went above and beyond taking our photos and helping us with whatever we needed. So sweet Blood bags are a must! Definitely add to the experience. They've got alcoholic and non alcoholic blood bags but we noticed the non alcoholic bags tend to run out towards the end of the night. Not a problem, just something to be aware of in case you or your party are non-drinkers. Might want to plan a trip earlier in the day. As far as food goes, the alligator po boy was my favorite thing I had during my entire trip. The alligator was seasoned to perfection. Never had it before! Don't knock it till you try it. I'm from SoCal and I've never seen alligator on a restaurant menu so it was a must try for me. Parents loved their steak and my brother got a burger but dug in before I could get a picture. He loved it too, and he's picky! Overall, I'd 100% go back if I'm ever visiting again, and it's something I recommend everyone to experience at least once! Such a fun and spooky place. read more

There are meals you politely chew through, and then there are meals that brand themselves into your memory like a scar you're proud of. The Vampire Café is the latter--New Orleans excess with teeth. The elephant garlic? The single hottest plate I have ever ordered in my life. Served blistering, molten, a culinary dare wrapped in foil. You crack it open and the aroma hits you like incense in a cathedral--holy, sinful, irresistible. Spread across bread, it melts into velvet and leaves you wondering why you've wasted years pretending garlic was just a side act. This is garlic as a headliner, garlic as seduction. And then the steak--bloody, seared, and to die for. The kind of steak that feels like it belongs in a vampire novel, served under candlelight while someone plays harpsichord in the next room. Tender enough to make you pause mid-bite, wondering if this is food or sorcery. The theme could have been cheesy--but it isn't. This is New Orleans, where myth and appetite make love in the streets. Sit here long enough and Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire stops being fiction and starts to feel like dinner theater. You half-expect Louis to brood over his red wine while Lestat laughs too loudly in the corner. It's theatrical, it's indulgent, and it's damn delicious. Come for the vampires, stay for the garlic and steak, and leave with the smug satisfaction that you've just survived the most decadent meal in the French Quarter. Five stars. Even Dracula would make a reservation. read more

Old New Orleans. Drink menu fun and in theme. Drinks in the blood bags were funny as hell. We went twice!!

I was really looking forward to the "deluxe" charcuterie board, but it ended up being one of the most disappointing parts of the meal. For $35, I expected a generous and thoughtfully curated selection. Instead, the board came out with just four very small slices of salami and four equally small portions of cheese -- something that felt more like a light snack than a shareable appetizer. The presentation was fine, but the portion size and value were way off. A charcuterie board at that price point should feel abundant and a bit indulgent, not sparse enough that you're counting pieces. To make matters worse, our total for four drinks and the "deluxe" charcuterie came out to $109, which really drove home the lack of value. At that price, you expect quality and quantity to match -- and this just didn't deliver. Overall, the experience felt more like a tourist trap than a place worth returning to. I'd strongly recommend skipping the charcuterie and choosing something else if you decide to visit. read more

This is a super cute cafe that attracted us due to its blood bag drinks! They are $15 a pop but dangerously tasty and very Instagrammable, so we weren't mad! The lady that greeted us when we entered was so full of energy and welcoming. We loved her so much!! We both got the second drink available for the blood bag and loved it. I don't remember exactly what it was but I think it was like blueberry lemonade with vodka? Something similar lol. It was super refreshing and had us feeling nice halfway through it! read more

A friend really wanted to come here, and they showed vegetarian options, with modifications that could be made vegan. We came in a Friday night. It was packed and very loud to where you had to yell so that the others in our group could hear. I went to order asking if the vegetarian curry could be made vegan, and our waitress response was "You're in Louisiana, nothing is vegan. There's only one restaurant that is vegan and it's "old" and far away." She didn't offer to check with the chef. I'm sure the chef could've made the curry and a salad vegan, but with her attitude, I was over talking with her, and I just got a drink. My friends said the food was good, and the drink I had (O-) was decent, but the service was one of the worst I've experienced. read more

I recently stopped in here on a trip to New Orleans for a drink and snack if you would. I ordered the B- and it was strong and delicious. the service here was impeccable! Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The decor was very on theme. While I was there it seemed like a mix of tourists and locals. This place is really more about the hype than the actual food. The blood bag drinks were decent but nothing amazing. The blood bags are cute. The waitress was excellent. The food was mediocre. The deviled eggs were ok, pork belly was ok, the steak was bland, mashed potatoes were ok, and Brussels sprouts were too sweet for me. It's a cute place and I mean who doesn't like vampires, right? But now that we've tried it out I don't see us going back anytime soon. Maybe just to sit at the bar and have some drinks. read more

I had booked the monthly tea reading vampire high tea. It sounded like a great event and I expected it to be for $95 per person. This event was disappointing. We arrived at our scheduled time and no one addressed us for quite a while. We finally sat down and our waitress was all over the place and clearly needed some help. We were offered a cocktail with the package, but they were out of the one I chose (pear Bellini). We were given a cup of tea, choice between 2 types. Then the snacks came out. The cutest part was the fudge shaped like bats. Nothing else about this event was vampire themed. The souvenir cups were nothing special... I figured they would have bats on them.... Nope. Nothing special. The yea leaf reading portion was quite annoying and they did not do a good job assisting on how that should work. Moral of the story. Don't bother with the high tea.
