First, the cocktail I got was delicious and cheap ($10?) a marionberry spritzer with vodka. Then for food we had pretzels and fried calamari for apps which were pretty good, the pretzel cheese sauce was interesting texture but still good! For entrees, my husband and I shared the ribs and roasted chicken -- both so good! His mom got the Gorgonzola fries and we were all obsessed with them. The service was friendly and the restaurant itself is sooo cute! We'd come back!

The food is good enough that I keep going back so I think that says something. Not only that, I've always experienced the most friendly of staff which also makes me want to keep going back. If you're looking for an affordable lunch or even a drink with friends to start or end your night this is the spot!

We found this place after specifically searching for gluten free options. According to their…read morewebsite, they said they were "best in Salem for gluten free." This is absolutely not true. Website states they have gluten free pancakes. Nope. Gluten free chicken and waffles. Also nope. Potatoes are not gluten free due to cross contamination. According to the waitress, the website is very outdated and incorrect. The main gluten free options were to sub toast or bread. So I ordered the gluten free French toast. It was very bland and disappointing. My partner ordered the chicken and waffles (no gluten allergy). After ordering, we sat and waited 15-20 minutes. The waitress then came over and stated they were out of chicken breasts. My food was already ready by the time they realized they didn't have the chicken. So he had to reorder while my food sat and waited. He did however say the chicken fried steak was really good, and that's the only reason this place got 2 stars instead of 1. Overall, highly disappointed and will not be returning. Do not eat here if you have celiac or gluten allergy, as you will have very limited options. Their website is clearly wrong.

Just an update to confirm my continued reviews:…read more Josey's is still top notch breakfast food for the area. The prices have stayed somewhat steady since 23 and the quality remains high. Staff are friendly and responsive and are very helpful with requests or questions. I ate here when single, when dating, I brought my kids here when they were babies, and I take them at 12 year olds now. Really glad to have a constant like Josey's that I can always rely on.

The manager, I believe her name is Carissa, would benefit greatly from training on how to treat both customers and employees. Her attitude has come across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional every time we've been in. Watching the way the staff operated under that kind of management was uncomfortable and honestly embarrassing. Our server, Angalina, appeared to be nodding off or falling asleep mid-sentence while taking our order and while explaining the specials. On top of that, we watched her leave the bathroom without washing her hands, which is completely unacceptable and a clear health concern. When our pizza came out undercooked, we decided not to send it back because, at that point, we no longer trusted the food handling practices. The salad looked decent, but after everything we witnessed, it was hard to feel comfortable eating there at all. There may not be many dining options in Aumsville, but the cafe down the road has excellent salads and a much better overall atmosphere and there's always Figaro's for a pizza!
