I have loved Valleyfair since I was a kid and I still do! I remember my mom would never let me go on the state fair rides because she would say they put those up in a day... I will take you to Valleyfair! It was always a big deal! I love this place and get to be a kid again for the day. Steel Venom is nuts! Wild Thing, Power Tower, Renegade, Excalibur are a thrill seekers dream! The old white roller coaster (originally from Excelsior) will always be a favorite! The park is very clean! Always someone there to help you or point you in the right direction, and there to clean up if someone gets sick on a ride. Yes my nephew puked! To me that means the ride seriously rocked! Lol! I would love to give my old friend Valleyfair 5 stars but I can't due to the prices of the very mediocre at best food! I mean 14 bucks for a large fry? I know they are fresh cut but seriously?!? From Shakopee PD Facebook Account: Late last night, officers from Shakopee Police assigned to Valleyfair responded to reports of multiple fights. The number of individuals running throughout the park increased substantially and was difficult to control. Due to the large number of altercations, it was decided to clear the park of all guests. Officers from Shakopee and surrounding communities ushered out all guests from the park. There have been no reported injuries or property from tonight's incident. There have been some comments about a knife being used in a fight, but at this time we have no evidence of any weapons being used in these altercations. We can report that three individuals were cited for minor offenses.We have no other comments or updates at this time. I was there with family. It was much worse than described above. How can you not have a good time at Valleyfair? It's been a good 10+ years since the last time I remember going..and it's pretty much the same. Unfortunately we only had a limited amount of time here so we couldn't catch everything. The best rides were the Power Tower and Xtreme Swing. Cons: For lunch we ate at Chickie's and Pete's which was my only regret. The food there was very expensive and sucked. I should have grabbed a turkey leg from next door instead. Oh well! Such a fun amusement park I loved going here growing up and now I get to take my soon to be child here one day! I'm excited for them to experience what I did as a child I loved the Halloween themed valley scare the did each year it is a bit expensive but it's expected since it's a business just be prepared for that and you'll have a great day! I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service here. I paid $17 for parking and another $38 for a ticket. I entered the park at 5:15 and rode one ride. Lightning was spotted and nearly all the rides (all the good ones) were closed down. We waited for another 45 minutes and then decided to talk to customer service. They were not willing to give out any rain check tickets for those that had purchased them before they closed down. The whole situation was incredibly unreasonable. read more

Cool chill amusement park.! I came here 3 weeks ago as part of a sponsored event. They closed the park and everything.! I ended up riding the Wave, High Roller, Thunder Canyon, Excalibur, Wild Thing, Xtreme Swing, and the Bumper Cars. The Wave hell-a surprised me.!!!!! You think you're gonna get that splash feel when you ride down it... maybe a heavy shower feel. But.......NO! I literally felt like I was fully submerged in like a solid block of water during that 1 second of the ride. I had time to think "is this water splash gonna finish"..... And to answer you...NO, it just kept going. LOL. The Xtreme Swing was also a surprising ride and pretty scary. A Should-Ride. There was relatively no wait except on one ride so that was great. I'm kind of over amusement parks but it was a good time with my cousins and their spouses. Just a good place to hang out especially when it's closed and not busy like it was this time. Forgot to mention; we also went to the Haunted Mansion which had a great cast member dressed up as a spooky wife give us a funny/creepy tour of their 'home'. read more

Best amusement park in Minnesota. I would recommend purchasing tickets online, you'll save more. The rides and staff are great, if you're an adult, you'll realize the roller coasters give you major headaches compared to when you were younger and didn't get any. The new ride, the North Star, is actually kind of scary, you feel like you're flying without a seatbelt, it also goes pretty fast. I appreciate their drink program they have regarding the free refills. It's worth buying one and just sharing because you save so much on refills because you go through it fast. The newest water slides are crazy. You're literally standing straight on a plastic board that drops you vertically then goes into a swirl of tube. I climbed all the steps and just could not do it, it's terrifying watching people drop. read more

Don't bother coming. The park is closed Monday-Wednesday this year I'm told. You have to book a reservation WEEKS in advance to even get a spot. They only let you have 3 reservations at a time. One summer I came here 25-30 times with my friends. This summer I probably will only get to go 3 times with how crappy this system is. I will not be renewing my "all" you can eat pass or my gold pass next season. This park needs a new owner who has an IQ above room temperature. $35 isn't enough money to give to all the people you're screwing over. read more

I love roller coasters!! And I hate swings that swing around in a circle!! I recently got a season pass because I love roller coasters so much. The last time I went it was on a Saturday and the forecast had predicted rain. Thankfully, it didn't rain and that meant the majority of people stayed home so there were no lines for the rides. I could've gone on the front of every single roller coaster if I had wanted. The next time I go I will likely do that. I am also eager to check out valley scare even though I know it will be too scary for me. If you buy a season pass you get a discount on food and photos which I think is great. The other major bonus to getting a season pass is free parking. The parking is really expensive if you don't have a coupon for it so I would suggest getting a coupon or buying a season pass. You can also pack sandwiches and put them in a cooler and go out your car and eat them for lunch and then come back in.I'm looking forward to checking out the water rides in the summer! read more

I used to love going here but recently it seems like a horror fest. Not a single bathroom had soap in the dispensers, and most were out of paper towels. Not to mention the family rooms near the pool had human feces on the ground. It was disgusting. The food options were not much better either. All the pop machines were out of ice or the soda was flat. When you let an employee know, they looked baffled like they had no idea how to fix it. I even told them the CO2 was out, and they looked like I was speaking a foreign language. The diner was run horribly. They ran out of burgers but had plenty of tenders. However the employees literally just stood there while waiting for the burgers instead of taking chicken tender orders. It was embarrassing to watch. All while the lobby was so messy and the straws were out. These teens seemed to not know what cleaning was and there was no adult in sight. You could see 3 of them in the back just goofing off. All the food stalls also closed before the park so my meal plan became Useless. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE PRICING!!!! They are no longer affordable. Food costs an arm and a leg. Parking is also more than half the ticket price. Pack a lunch in your car if you still want to go. With the lines for food, it would be faster....... Speaking of fast, the lines everywhere are run by sloths. The only efficient ride that had a good loading, and unloading time was the Wild thing, which they stopped taking pictures for randomly and we could get ours..... JUST DONT GO Don't fund this poor management. Not only have they cancelled the best part, Valley Scare, but they run a park with no care in the world. read more

Breakers Bay Cabana service sucks. Took us 3 hours to get our food we ordered through the waiter. Multiple times we flagged him/them down and was told 5 mins at least 3 times. We get it, it's busy so we tried being patient. Finally my husband went to the restaurant and asked where our food was and said he will wait for it. Nope! Said they will bring it in 5 mins as it's being cooked "right now." An hour later still nothing. He went back and said stop with the BS. He said "if you haven't cooked my order, cancel it or I am waiting for it." Finally gave him the very expensive tender platter we ordered for our very hangry kiddos who have been waiting around for food. Granted, we went and ordered fries and burgers in the mean time to tie them over. Poor service from staff all around. Yes, prices are still crazy, but I just wanted to update and give kudos to Valleyfair for their Military Days. I went with a friend who is in the military and he got in free, they made it very easy, we didn't have to go buy a special ticket or anything, we just went to the gate, he shows his ID and they said "Thank you for your service" and let him. It was so easy. Very nice. I also went on some rides, which I haven't done forever! Rides are a lot faster now than they used to be! Steel Venom was crazy and the only mistake I made was opening my eyes. My friend talked me into the Power Tower, which I swore I would never go on, and it was great. I only wish we'd had time to go on more rides. At least now I will remember to never go on the Corkscrew again, holy crap if you're wearing earrings that harness that comes down over your head is painful. read more

I haven't been to Valley Fair since I was a teen; my excitement was high but my expectations were kept in check since Covid and forwarned staffing issues. Even with low expectations, I was terribly disappointed. The lines were 45 min or longer per ride, many were not open causing the one that were open to be very busy. The limitations on food choices were angering as again half of the park was closed. When we settled for indoor "Stadium" cuisine it was worse than old school cafeteria food. Cold bland fries, cold bland 20$ burger. I was not amused. The arcade and few prize games open were fun and the few rides we could get on were enjoyable. The park closed at 7p.m. so even arriving at 11 a.m. meant we were only able to get 5 or 6 rides. Not a great value for your time or money. Each employee moves at a snails pace, and clearly do not want to be there. The turn around time on most rides is terrible. What an absolute joke. We arrived at 11am, after paying over $100 for 2 tickets and parking, only to wait in line for over 2 hours for one ride. We finally got close to the front of the line and the ride was closed for the day. At 2:30 we hadn't been on one ride yet. We talked to guest services that said they wouldn't give us our money back. We went to another ride, which we stood in line over 90 minutes for, only to have that ride shut down as well. At 4pm we still haven't been on one ride. Again, we talked the guest services and were told they will not refund our money. They offered us 3 fast passes for next year. Which means we need to spend another $100 to use them. At 6pm we were told by a staff member that the current ride we were in line for we would not be able to ride before the park closed at 7pm. What a joke. We will NEVER suggest Valleyfair to anyone, nor will we ever return. The staff at guest services was rude. Many people were complaining and asking for a full refund. read more

What a fucking joke. I'm waiting in the power tower line as I wrote this. Been close to an hour because they are only running two towers and keep shuttling fast pass people in front of us. Already spent 1/5 of my day sitting here waiting for our first ride. Apparently the idle tower is not in the Wednesday's afternoon budget or someone called in sick. Havent been here in about 15 years and i remember why. This is a disgusting display of not only treating general pass customers like peasants but purposely running below capacity to further fuck is over. I've been going here since the 80's. As a child, it was the highlight of each year and became a tradition (thanks to company events and school field trips). I remember when Excaliber was the "it" rollercoaster and wanting so badly to ride. Each new attraction garners so much excitement and buzz. How can one not love this place?! Prices have never been low and people often complain about them. Please understand that it goes to maintaining the park as well as workers' pay. Keep in mind that a rollercoaster costs millions to build. It's not cheap to keep everything running and up to standard whilst trying to make a profit. A few suggestions to keep prices low. If you're planning on visiting more than a few times, get a season pass. There are coupons and deals. If you're against the food sold because it's not healthy or too steep in pricing for you, there are picnic coves where you can grill. Bring a picnic! You are free to come and go, but make sure you get stamped. I, myself, love the fare here and will always grab them in between rides to snack on. Funnel cakes, cheese-on-a-stick, mini donuts, pronto pups, cotton candy, chili cheese fries, ICEE, etc. I'm not a huge hot dog person, but for some reason I can always devour an entire hot dog myself. I guess hunger really is the best sauce! Parking is always available at cost and there is loads of it. Come prepared to walk a ways unless you are early and get closer parking. Something worth mentioning, don't leave your soda in the car on a hot, summer day because it will combust, leaving the interior of your car sticky sweet from the headrest to the seat (haha!). read more

Being that this is the best amusement park in the state of Minnesota, I give it four stars (simply for their crazy food prices). Prepare yourself for a day of rides, spend some time at the water park, and plan to eat outside the park at one of their many picnic tables. The variety of rides, both dry and wet, are great for all ages. If you are more of a spectator than a thrill-seeker, there is plenty of area for shade sitting. This place is a depressing shit hole. I haven't been there since the summer of 1997 and I don't recall it being such a dump. Granted, I went during Valley Scare and it was over run with teenagers but still, yuck. We went to Dickey's for dinner, which I find to be a tasty BBQ fast food choice outside of the amusement park world. This particular location was out of 2/3 of their menu and the prices were extremely high. I understand they have to pay rent but shit, for the quality of food it was excessive. Boo! Glitches, my arse. We went to Valleyfair on a recent weekend for a company picnic. I decided to go, because I hadn't been there in so long and I'm cheap. I didn't have to pay. Here is what I HAD to go on this trip - The Enterprise, Wild Thing and Corkscrew. As a kid and teenager, this was one place we went yearly for fun. I haven't been there in at least 8 years. There are a lot of new rides, but I couldn't experience much of the park. I know, nothing is free and coupons are available everywhere, but it's not my kind of place. So, we arrive around 10:30ish and pay the $10 to park. I think that's too much. I rode the Enterprise with one of the girls in our group, we buzzed over another ride, then to the Extreme Swing. Time check - 11:45! What, over an hour and only 3 rides? I guess I no longer have the patience for crowds and people. We decide were going to get a beer before the picnic. Some people in the group have already had a beer around 11:00. We buzz over to the 'sports bar' while the kids were on Mad Mouse. Lo and behold, the 'sports bar' doesn't serve beer before noon and you can't take it out of the place. Noon comes, we get the beer and get out. We go over to lunch and sit in the group picnic area to get out of the sun. Lunch is served and it's fine, nothing great. A couple of us have other engagements, so it's off to the Wild Thing quickly. I notice there isn't a line. I think to myself, "great, on and off!" IT'S NOT OPEN! The attendant tells me, "it's not broken, it never is - it's just a glitch." They have no ETA. We walk to the Corkscrew. It's not running. The line is SO FRIGGING LONG. The attendant tell me, "it's not broken, it's just a glitch and I'm not sure when it's going to open." The rides I did go on were fun. The lesson I learned is, I don't have the patience for the crowds, heat, and greasy food any longer. You know what doesn't have a glitch - the car we drove out of the parking lot less than 3 hours after we arrived. Boo! Glitches! Now I know why I haven't been there - waste of my time. read more

I've been enjoying Valley Fair since I was little. I've been waiting for my own children to get old enough so I could take them to Valley Fair. My son is 4 1/2 and I decided to take him for the day. I purchased all of my tickets online you save anywhere from $8-11 a ticket purchasing online and convenience is also a factor. My ticket was around $36 and my son's was $30 I believe, I also purchased the Dinosaurs Alive, $2 each and parking $12. Now that can sound like a lot and also if you have several kids it can add but, but if you compare it to other parks around the country or even the state fair or regional county fairs I believe it's a deal. Their are a TON of ride options for kids of all ages, my son is only 40inches tall and he went on rides from 10am-3pm without riding the same one twice and we didn't even make it to the waterpark. The lines were minimal (for the childrens rides). I would suggest getting there right when it opens at 10am and it's not quite as busy. The food isn't cheap but I wouldn't say it's over priced. It's no more than the state fair or county fairs and If you want to save money have lunch in your car or I saw some families pack a picnic lunch and sit on the grass (smart). They did also have an option to purchase an all u can eat for $27 I believe so if you were going to be there all day not a bad deal with lots of options. Their are a ton of ride options for kids of all ages, the waterpark is included, my son was so tired we didn't even make it, hopefully next year!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful with children. I would highly recommend Dinosaurs alive, even though we've seen it twice at the zoo this one was much larger than the one at the zoo and I felt better so it was worth it especially for smaller children. I really can't say enough great things about Valley Fair. We will make it an annual tradition for our kids. read more

I love ValleyFair and go there every annually with my little brother. People are generally nice but we had one experience that still bothers me to this day. My little brother wanted some mini donuts and I was going to get some cheese curds. (We went to the booth near the power tower exit) the guy behind the counter didn't even talk to us and he looked SO annoyed having to get us food. He then preceded to pull a bag of frozen cheese curds out of a little freezer, grab a handful with his BARE HANDS and throw them into a little oven behind him. He did the same with mini donuts. WHY AREN'T THEY MADE FRESH? Once we finally got the snacks ($14) the cheese curds were still frozen in the middle. Like rock hard frozen. We asked him to warm them up again and he literally just ignored us. So we took it up to the front and customer service looked at us like we were stupid. Very frustrating. Last Saturday I took my son to valleyfair for the first time. Trying to purchase tickets, the young girl working definitely shouldn't have been left unsupervised. After swiping my card three times ($100 a pop) she tries again and tells me it's declined. Turns out, it went through each time... and on top of there, there was some technical issue with valleyfairs card processor which DOUBLED EVERY TRANSACTION FOR THE DAY. So I call on Monday and was told initially I'd have to wait until Friday to speak with anyone because there were no managers in during the week (?!) after pressing further was told I could call from 9-5 the following day... Finally got through to the finance department and was told it'd still be Friday before both valleyfair and their card processor could pull their heads out of the brown sand and fix their royal eff up. Now it's Friday, it's not fixed, nobody is answering. Eat paint, valleyfair. Looking into legal action. read more

I loved Valleyfair. Seriously. Okay, coming from Atlanta, we have Six Flags & White Waters. To me, Valleyfair is a combination of both worlds. I loved it. What I also loved about Valleyfair is that the lines are not that long. Coming from someone who loves rollercoasters & Six Flags, the usual wait time is an hour long. Not at Valleyfair, it's usually no wait and the longest I had to wait was 10 mins and my cousins were complaining, if only they go to Six Flags, lol. I rode on every ride, except the kiddie ones and didn't do the bungee jump cause it cost extra. The humidity kills in Atlanta but the dry air was awesome for Valleyfair. Went here for the first time in a few years with some adult friends and it was still as fun as I remembered as a kid. Hit all the major rides and shelled out some extra cash for the Ripcord, which was definitely the highlight. A little pricey: Lockers were quite expensive which we had to use to store our things when we went into the water park area, beers and food were expectedly sold at a premium, and the Ripcord was more money over the regular entrance fee, but on the whole it was a fun experience. read more

Spent the day at Valleyfair and though we had a pleasant time, there were lots of areas for improvement. Tickets for those over 48" would have been $41.99 without any coupons. Luckily we found discounts on the Valleyfair website that saved us $10/ticket Parking is $12/car...there lot is the only place to park for miles, so it seems like a hose job to me. I don't have to pay to park at the mall, I don't have to pay at Caterbury Park, I don't have to pay at a lot of places that want my money. Many of the rides we were going on, only seemed to have 1 attendant/operator working the ride so it would take longer than the ride to get everyone settled. One of the rides took 6 minutes to load and the ride was no longer than 2 minutes of ride time. Greasy, fried foods seem to be the only options for food - I've never wanted a piece of fresh fruit more than today. Planet Snoopy was a nice addition to the park; however one of the rides in the midst of the kid park is not available to those under 48" tall - the swings. Seems a little strange; but I think that the ride has been there forever so it was probably too much to move read more
