I had so much fun at FlyOver America! From the moment the ride started, it really felt like I was actually on a real ride and flying through everything. The way your feet are dangling and you're lifted up in front of the big screen makes it feel so real. The visuals are beautiful and the effects make a huge difference you can feel the wind and even a little mist, which makes it even more immersive. At some points I honestly forgot I was inside the mall because it felt like I was really traveling. It's not too scary, but still exciting enough to enjoy every second of it. I was a little nervous at first, but once it started I just relaxed and had fun. The whole experience is very well done and something different from anything else in the mall. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying it. It's fun, unique, and totally worth it . I would do it again for sure! read more

The cost is around $24.99 for a 20 to 25 for this experience. The high technology was well executed and great sound effects. I did the FlyOver experience with my coworkers for our holiday outing and had a good time! The wait to get in was minimal and the waiting area was decorated for the holidays! The experience was geared towards Christmas, with elves popping up throughout the ride. There were "snowballs" thrown at you and the ride ended at the North Pole! The graphics were great and you couldn't see the edge of the screen, making you feel totally immersed. I was told that the experience is the same year after year for the holiday one, and I enjoyed it, but don't feel the need to go again. If you're on the fence, do it! Our group opted to do the double feature and we weren't disappointed! You really feel immersed in where you are. The mist machines during the ocean scenes are a nice touch. The wait for the ride was 10 minutes tops. My friends and I kept trying to answer the trivia questions on the screens in line which kept us entertained. Pretty awesome, but if you've done Soarin at Disney you have pretty much done FlyOver America. With that said, I loved Soarin, so I has happy to try FlyOver America! Start to finish, about 10 minutes. Worth $22, you make the call. I did enjoy the "ride" and it very well done. Multiple times I found myself lifting my legs so I didn't hit the objects on the screen! Other effects, like cool mist hitting your face as you "fly" through the clouds was a nice touch. Worth a try, even if you have done Soarin. We enjoyed our recent ride on Flyover America. We were in town for a conference and made a few visits to the Mall of America. The ride itself is great; the access to it, not so much. We had a coupon for the ride from a coupon book the mall charges $10 for, but currently the ride includes an extension for Canada also, and the coupon isn't good for that, so we only did the U.S. portion of the ride. Like Soarin' at Walt Disney World, you wait in one line first, and then again in a different room divided into lines. There is a display for the second wait with trivia questions. From what I could see, the people who also paid for the Canada portion of the ride didn't have to wait, so if you are in a hurry you can try paying for both. My wife is having issues with a knee, so we weren't impressed when we had to climb stairs to get to the ride. I assume it isn't handicap accessible. They will have you pose at the start and superimpose the picture with the ride so you can buy a few pictures at the end. So the ride itself was great, even though overall it made us appreciate Disney's Soarin.' read more

We have been here twice and this place will never cease to amaze us even if we are going to visit this 10 more times. The check in process is quite simple at the front desk and make sure to look for online discount coupons. The staff direct people well inside the premises and are very helpful. Coming to the experience, it is SURREAL! Nothing like I have ever experienced before. It's a fairly 10 minute simulated flying experience over some of the famous landmarks and landscapes of the USA and ends at outside of the earth. The fantastic background music just ups the entire feel of the whole experience! The best part is the mist u feel on your face as you fly over water bodies and the sweet fragrance as you fly over some prairies. FlyOver America please make your coupons so they are worded correctly. We had a coupon from the coupon book sold by the Mall of America. The coupon said it was for $3.50 off tickets (plural). The person behind the counter who sold us the book stated it was for each ticket. We expected $3.50 off each ticket but when I asked the old man behind the counter with the white hair bald head, he blew up big time in anger stating that was not how it was intended but he would honor it. He did so in front of my daughter and 2 grandchildren. We were shocked and because of his intense anger, we left to sit down to discuss it. I asked the grandkids if they still wanted to go because they were looking forward to it and they said no they no longer wanted to. I looked over at him and he was sitting down leaning on the counter shaking his head with a disgusted face at us. I hope he gets some anger management classes soon so he doesn't ruin the experience for others. Also for those who also like saving money or who are on a budget, tickets purchased in advance are cheaper online. Don't give the grinch anymore money than you have to. read more

I echo the many reviews that state that the staff have no idea what they are doing - from the front desk sales, to the people that accepted our tickets and got us seated to even the manager. They have no idea what to do with customers who paid online - made us pay extra and wait in line twice. No direction or guidance. The signs for showings were incorrectly placed and they have absolutely horrendous customer service skills. It's like they are ready to pick a fight with customers. It is shameful. Went on the busiest day of the week- Saturday, the last weekend of the holiday show right after Christmas. The line wasn't very long. We waited about 20 or so minutes (which isn't bad for these types of things, about 2 showings ahead of us). In the pre-show where they give us safety instructions as we waited to board the ride, it ended in a snow (confetti) drop, which was a nice cute little surprise. I'm sure it was cold to give us the full winter experience and they also mist water on you which is cool! It's a very short ride. Ran for about 7 minutes. Maybe worth it every few years or so. You can save a few dollars by buying tickets online. Overall the experience is cool and fun. I remember doing these types of attractions at MOA as a kid. read more

FlyOver America is a lot like the ride Soarin' at Disney World and Disneyland, but a little less magical. Guests sit in chairs that are suspended off the ground and "fly" over important/recognizable/scenic parts of the USA that are projected on a very large screen. There are parts of the ride I liked, and parts I didn't. However, I would say that, even with a discount rate (and discounts are easy to find for this ride), it's not worth the price. Here's the good and bad of it: The good: Wait times are pretty short, there is a large capacity, the seats are comfortable, the staff is really nice, and one of the "flyovers" is over Minneapolis (you can't see that on either of Disney's Soarin' rides)! Almost anyone can ride this ride, including seniors and people with disabilities. The bad: The price, at $19 for about 15 minutes of ride time, is not a good value at all (it's still not a good value with one of the many discount passes you can find for around $17). By comparison, you can purchase a discount ride pass from Costco/Sams/online for practically ALL of the other rides at the MOA (Nickelodeon Universe) for about the same price as one trip on this one attraction, and then ride them all day. This ride sprays water misters as part of the effect, but it's way too much and you sort of get wet from it. Some of the scenes they use are somewhat obviously computer enhanced. They pretty much force you to take a photo and then try to sell it to you at the end. All in all, this is an ok attraction, and might be good for people who aren't physically able to ride on the other rides in the MOA, but I would not recommend it to most people based on the value for the price. read more

As others have observed, if you've experienced Soarin' Over California at Disney California Adventure Park, you'll be familiar with this concept. Quite a few years ago, my family and I had a great time Soarin' so I was looking forward to trying FlyOver when it was announced as a new attraction at MOA. Shortly before 7:00PM a few Sunday's ago, my son and I had the unique experience of being the sole riders having purchased tickets to the last seating. We sat in the very center of the theater and felt pretty fortunate to have the ride entirely to ourselves. Once immersed in the experience, it really does feel like you're hang gliding across a well chosen panorama of American locations. From sea to mountain, city to forrest, coast to coast the scenes are spectacular and included are a few well executed thrills such as having a squadron of jets pass beneath you and then perform a precision aerial manuever. You fly through clouds and feel a cool mist, pass over orchards and a fruity scent wafts over you and frequently you feel the wind in your hair. The price seems reasonable given the relatively generous length of the ride (~10 minutes) and the quality of the experience. We already plan to go back for FlyOver Canada and might do the double feature just to see America again. read more

My son loved it and wanted to go again. I thought it was okay. I have been on Soarin' at Epcot and this ride was just like it. There were no lines when we went and got right in. The only time we did wait was when the ticket agent was making plans with her friends for later. Not a big deal, I am not against chit chat, but it would have been nice for her to tell us where to go to get on the ride. We walked to the store entrance and another employee told us where to go. Walk in and they take your picture available for purchase on your way out. We opted out. The ride itself is nice. Very short and a little bit pricey for such a short ride.. Yes, it's unique, but in my opinion the price point is high. It was enjoyable and my son liked it so that's all that matters. read more

We've been to Soarin at Disney World and really enjoyed it so we thought we would enjoy this ride as well. We were right! There was a line just to purchase tickets. The wait was about 15 minutes to purchase tickets. If you want to avoid waiting in line I recommend purchasing tickets online. I think you also get a discount if you purchase tickets online. We didn't buy online because we thought there were set times associated with this ride and didnt want to be tied down to a set time slot but we were wrong. Availability for this ride is first come first served. I read online that they might even offer a 10% discount based on AAA membership. This is NOT confirmed but it doesnt hurt to ask when purchasing tickets in person. After our wait in line for tickets we then had to wait to line up for the ride. The wait time for a rainy Saturday late afternoon trip was one hour. Since we were here right before Halloween, the ride had a halloween theme to it. The props in the wait area were all Halloween themed and so were the videos they showed us. I thought it was very cute and clever. This ride may not be the best for those that are sensitive to motion sickness. Since we did the double feature (USA and Canada), we were able to move to different seats after watching the USA flyover (which was shown first to us). I sat at the end of the row watching the USA flyover and sat in the middle of the row watching the Canada flyover. I had more motion sickness sitting in the middle of the row than sitting at the very end of the row. There was not a lot of movement of the chair but there was a lot of movement on the screen. There are three levels and we sat on the 1st row which had about 17 seats. There is storage underneath the seats so I was able to securely store my jacket and purse under the seat while the ride was in progress. During the ride they sprayed mists of scents to match the view. I thought that was pretty clever. Overall a great ride! read more

I loved this FlyOver America. It is a 4D movie. It is phenomenal and lasts for 20 minutes. I had the full experience and strong feelings throughout the movie. The movie had included all the minor and major details (strong winds, feeling of wet clouds, the smell of evergreens, etc.) In order to bring the film to life, there were lots of physical and visual effects experienced by the audience. The show is in the corner of Nickelodeon Universe. It cost $25 per person. We had the opportunity to watch both the United States film and the Canada Film. This was due to the fact that "Fly Over Canada" just happen to have been in theaters when we were there. No guarantees that "Fly Over Canada" will always be there. When 'flying' over bodies of water, clouds, and snow there was mist sprayed into the audience to add the extra bit of exposure to what it may truly feel like to be flying over the wonderful sights. We would definitely recommend seeing either shows if you happen to find yourself at Mall of America. read more

As it was, it was just a jumble of confusing clips. I think the Omnitheater at the science museum is an overall similar but ultimately better experience. If you have been to Soarin' Over California at Disney's California Adventure park, you will like FlyOver America better. It is located within Nickelodeon Universe in the Mall of America. So first you get your tickets then stand in line. Line was not too long. There's also a timer that tells you how much longer till its your turn, and it's pretty accurate. When you reach the front of the line, there's a briefing of rules and what to expect. Soon as that's done you get in to your seat and buckle up. Sure it's a theatrical ride where your seat moves in sync with the scenes, but let me tell you, it feels like you are actually there. Not only were the effects great, but also the props used to make it more realistic. Let me explain. When you soar over a rain forest, it smells like you're actually in a rain forest. When you soar over Hawaii, you smell the ocean. When you soar near a waterfall, mists of water gets sprayed on you. When you up in the clouds, they mist fog. I feel like it's longer than Soarin'. The places you soar over are famous places, citites, historical monuments etc. You just have to experience it for yourself. My son does not like scary rides but he surely enjoyed this. If you're in the Mall of America or Nickelodeon Universe for that matter, you can't skip FlyOver America! read more

My girlfriend LOVES FlyOver America and bought me a ticket today to try it for the first time (It was her 3rd time). Just to give you a quick comparison, it reminds me of the movies you watch at the OmniTheater at the Science Museum in St. Paul. Service: The service sucked, quite honestly. We were in the hands of 3 or 4 people. I don't know about the service of the person who sold my friend the tickets, I hadn't arrived yet. The young lady who took our tickets gave us zero direction on where to go. We ended up on the outside of the line we needed to be at and while my gf was going to go back to see where we went wrong, i just saved time and went under the rope. The young lady who helped us once it was our turn to enter the ride told us to go in line 3... and that was it. Once we got to line three, we and the group with us, didn't know where to stop. We were going to go alllll the way to some visual doors, but my gf (who had done this a few times) said last time she had done this there were doors in a specific area and that was how we were to enter the ride. The doors were almost invisible, since it was so dark, we were given no instruction, once again, and there was no sign to tell us to "Stop Here." So needless to say... all of the adults were slightly irritated. The only person who was someone more professional was the guy who made sure we were seat belted in and had our belongings in the area below our seats. The actual ride was pretty cool and felt real. I personally am afraid of heights and i literally gripped my seat most of the ride. LOL Would i do this again... NOPE. FlyOver America is a flying theater ride and it's almost the same as Soarin'. It's really over priced $11 for kids and $15 for adults. It was $22 plus tax for my sister and me to go. The whole ride was just like Soarin' and the theming was too. It had a blue with red arrows theme. Before you go to the intro video room, you sit in front of a green screen so they can take picture that you have to buy for like $10. After the photo, you go into a room with 80 other people and watch a three minute long intro video. That's longer than the ride itself. The worst thing is it's sung. Then you go into the theater and you have to wait forever until the ride starts. This ride actually makes you feel like your flying so if you have a fear of heights or get motion sick, you shouldn't ride. The movie is really blurry. If you did Soarin' than this ride will be a disappointment. If you didn't do Soarin', you would swear it was Soarin'. After the ride is done, you go into souvenir shop. People say the staff is really nice but they really aren't. I held up my phone to text when the employee showed me my souvenir photo. He thought I was trying to take a picture of it so he yelled for the whole souvenir shop to hear, "YOU CAN'T TAKE PICTURES OF THE PHOTO!" Other than the ride staff, the ride is a fun place to go.
