We found this bar on one of our trips to Tulsa and I've literally compared every other bar we go to to Valkyrie. This place rocks! I love a well made cocktail with complexity and layers of flavor, this place nails it! We literally made a trip to Tulsa this time to just to come to this bar. Joe was my mixologist last time and so I made sure to use him again this time. I love how you describe what kind of cocktail you like using their list of descriptive words and they create something for you. I love to just sit there and let Joe make me something different each time! Now I will say this can be a bit dangerous as I'm feeling a bit rough today and I even drank my water in between drinks! My two favorite drinks were The Messed up Estonian and Summer Sparrow. Both were complex drinks. The Estonian had more of a strawberry/black pepper flair and the Sparrow was made with cardamon and was fantastic. I only had one of those, but would have had more if it wasn't for the many creations before that! Even their basic gin and tonics are fantastic bc they make their own tonic! Same goes for their mules since they make their own ginger beer! I guess while I'm mentioning that I should say they do the same with their simple syrup and I'm sure tons of other things you wouldn't normally find! I would HIGHLY suggest Valkyrie for a cocktail if you don't mind paying for a perfectly balanced drink, but if you are just looking for a $5 drink, then this isn't your place! read more

Tulsa is my home town so when I came to visit and found Valkyrie, I was impressed. I expect this in DC, Chicago, NYC, etc. They are serious about the craft of creating spirits. Will never go to this place ever again. You can only be served after 1am unless you are friend or server. I arrived there a few minutes prior to last call. Asked for my beverage, told I wasn't allowed to have one. Then 5-6 bartenders on the patios were sure to be served but no one else. The bar is very small and cozy, make sure to arrive early during week end nights because this place gets packed, and it is hard to find a seat! The staff are always super friendly and helpful. If you are undecided on what to drink, just tell them what kind of flavors you like and they will craft you something delicious! Valkyrie is the kind of place to go with your favorite colleagues on a Thursday after work. While it is a bit pricey, the cocktails are like nothing else in Tulsa. It's the only place where I trust bartenders to make my drink based on only a few descriptors such as "spirit forward". My colleagues are starting a tour of Tulsa Martinis called Tulsatini. The rubric is a trade secret, but it includes a number of important categories. Apparently, the garnish matters a lot. The gin also gives the lemon peal a chance to shine. They have a rubric and everything. They are taking an average score of gin, vodka, and dirty. Whichever gets the higher score ends up on a featured poster. They have promised that there will be score cards by the third spot. These are scientists and they have thought of everything. I had my first ever martini at Valkyrie. I got the house which is gin, and it was incredible. All the bartenders are incredibly knowledgable and invested in the experience of all customers. I love the music and the horseshoe shaped booths. I am personally more of a dive bar guy myself but the people I was with really wanted to try this bar out while in town. We came in and got a seat right at the bar. The place was very full for a Wednesday night. Our bartender was very polite and attentive always noticing when we needed a new drink. The ambiance of this bar is incredible. There is so much to take in. I made a mistake telling the bartender to make me whatever he wanted as long as it had vodka and whatever he made me was almost undrinkable. Came here last night 8/10/17 for my first time, and have the most awesome experience. I had read really good reviews and noticed it was a hot spot so I decided to try it out. I love the scenery it's dark and dimly lit for more of an intimate type feel, deff a good spot for dates they have a full bar area to sit and couches with tables. There drink choices are very good they give you two different menus so you can order specialty drinks or have them custom make one for you, I had the bartender make something fruity and strong, I don't remember the name but it was very good, the bartenders were very tentative and super helpful, I will be back had an awesome experience. read more

They make a great old fashioned and bring someone initiated in fine drinks and they will craft something they will love just from your "taste".
