If you want to experience a different, unique, upscale way to drink, Valkyrie Bar might be the place you want to hit up. The place itself is very detailed and modern. The bar area is adorned with tall wooden shelves with each bottle of liquored displayed and in the middle is a chalk board with each section of its own. First section has your mixed drinks, Second section has your list of beers, and the last area has your wines. The drinks themselves are very expensive $9-10. This is more than your typical whiskey and coke or whatever typical drink you buy at any other bar. The mixed drinks themselves are complex and use fresh ingredients to create a unique drink you've never had before. They have some interesting things they grind, peel, and mix to create a drink. Even the ice cubes are like perfect cubes. The mixologists are very knowledge and will walk you through a drink based on what you've liked in the past and they will suggest something you like. My favorite are the "Blood and Sand," "Port-de-Prince," and the "Church." My husband loves their "El Diablo" but it's a bit too smoky for me. The bar is very small and cozy, make sure to arrive early during week end nights because this place gets packed, and it is hard to find a seat! The staff are always super friendly and helpful. Located in The Brady, it is surrounded by various cute shops and lights along the street. Inside, the ambience is chique but relaxed, with the options of couches or booths to sit on. The drinks were incredibly good (although the cups were very small for their prices). Valkyrie fills Tulsa's need for a high end cocktail bar. The ambiance is perfect, with a beautiful bar that has a back-lit wall of liquor (complete with a ladder). The seating space was perfect...plenty of bar seating, small group options, and big square lounge booths that can accommodate larger groups (~10) or be shared among smaller groups. The place was very full for a Wednesday night. Our bartender was very polite and attentive always noticing when we needed a new drink. The ambiance of this bar is incredible. There is so much to take in. I made a mistake telling the bartender to make me whatever he wanted as long as it had vodka and whatever he made me was almost undrinkable. Valkyrie is the kind of place to go with your favorite colleagues on a Thursday after work. While it is a bit pricey, the cocktails are like nothing else in Tulsa. It's the only place where I trust bartenders to make my drink based on only a few descriptors such as "spirit forward". My colleagues are starting a tour of Tulsa Martinis called Tulsatini. The rubric is a trade secret, but it includes a number of important categories. Apparently, the garnish matters a lot. The gin also gives the lemon peal a chance to shine. They have a rubric and everything. They are taking an average score of gin, vodka, and dirty. Whichever gets the higher score ends up on a featured poster. They have promised that there will be score cards by the third spot. These are scientists and they have thought of everything. I had my first ever martini at Valkyrie. I got the house which is gin, and it was incredible. All the bartenders are incredibly knowledgable and invested in the experience of all customers. I love the music and the horseshoe shaped booths. Came here last night 8/10/17 for my first time, and have the most awesome experience. I had read really good reviews and noticed it was a hot spot so I decided to try it out. I love the scenery it's dark and dimly lit for more of an intimate type feel, deff a good spot for dates they have a full bar area to sit and couches with tables. There drink choices are very good they give you two different menus so you can order specialty drinks or have them custom make one for you, I had the bartender make something fruity and strong, I don't remember the name but it was very good, the bartenders were very tentative and super helpful, I will be back had an awesome experience. read more

They have a ladder, similar to the old-school tall libraries, and will even mix a drink while on the ladder! The drinks are a little on the small side but the glasses are all different. From what my friends say, the love the unknown and the surprise of the drink order. The mixologists/bartenders will remake a drink if you don't like the outcome of your adjective choice - and will answer any questions you have. We had a great time here. Exactly what I was expecting - a dark craft cocktail bar with enthusiastic bartenders and a creative menu. I ordered a Bloody Mess which included whiskey, beet, and ginger. It was wonderful. My boyfriend got a rye Manhattan, and it was very well made. It was pretty crowded, but we found a bench in the back of the bar.
