I really wanted this place to be good. It is close to the school where I work. I should have figured something was wrong with it when I have not seen coworkers eating it. I went tonight. This is the greasiest food I have ever eaten. I had the classic beef burrito. When they brought me my food I got up to get a fork. When I got back there was about a ten inch wet spot on my table where the grease from the burrito leaked out of the foil. When I unwrapped my burrito the tortilla fell apart because of the grease. When they brought me my chips they were wet with grease. Some chips were dripping with grease. I'm all about fresh but this was bad. The restaurant was messy. The salsa station was a mixture of all of the salsas. All of this was a total of $25. Highly disappointed. It would have been great to have a good restaurant close to work. read more

I will be going back First time trying, ordered the crispy potato taco, chili rellano, and cali taco soft with flour, elote and small drink for about $18, great price! Forgot to order sour cream but asked for side and it was no issue, I truly appreciated this. I love the salsa bar with add option of pickled veggies ( carrots, jalapeño, and onion). 4 salsas 2 green and 2 red. The crispy potato was good but I would have preferred not as thick of a potato. The chili rellano was a miss for me. With all the salsa and sauce on top it took away from the chili's. I rather have them crispy and topped with melted cheese that gets bubbly, then have the toppings on the side to eat it with. The cali taco was tasty due to the sauce on it but the carne asada could have been a bit more juicy. The elote was very good and not salty. I have driving by Valerie's for months; I typically come down Legacy before getting on Panther Creek and then up the DNT. Today I had an appointment in Frisco and chose to pick up a burrito for lunch. I didn't try a variety of items but I can safely give this spot a 5 star thumbs up. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito; and pack three sauces; the verde, roja and creamy mayo-chipotle & I got a horchata drink as well. $14.67 all in and I left to eat it at home. Burrito is probably slightly smaller and lighter than a chipotle burrito and I was hoping it tasted better. I sliced it in half and then got to work!!!! Yooooo; this Burrito is good!!!! The salsa and guacamole was fresh; the steak was perfectly seasoned with plenty of meat in each bite!!! the salsas only made it better; with plenty of heat and flavor from each bite. It's is very filling and I had not eaten breakfast; and I will probably have a very light dinner. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, served quickly, and not overpriced. I ordered the Pollo Asado burrito with a side of rice. The rice is really good. It is seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The chicken burrito not so much. The chicken inside was ice cold, way colder than the sauces and veggies put inside of it. I'm not sure if it's raw, frozen chicken, or if they just cook and freeze the chicken and reheat it when it's ordered. I genuinely cannot tell by looking at it, but I guess I will find out soon since I ate about a fourth of it before realizing. The guacamole and salsas are good though, so I guess that's a plus. Got to get my San Diego Mexican fix today at the Frisco Valerie's with my family...delicious. My daughter remembers our many trips to Roberto's in San Diego and she was so happy to introduce her children to really good San Diego Mexican food. Unfortunately, we live in the land of Tex-Mex and I know it has it's fans, but when you know that you can drive south and enter Mexico and get the same good quality Mexican food that Roberto's and Valerie's makes you KNOW it's real Mexican. Not even Los Angeles has a carne asada like Roberto's and Valerie's who by the way are family members so they are diligent with their quality. Several years ago I was flying to Hawaii and had a layover and plane change at LAX. There was a Mexican taco place in the airport and they had a carne asada burrito, I was so excited after being in Texas for a couple of years and no good Mexican food. I have never been so disappointed in my life what a nasty excuse for a carne asada burrito. ONLY Roberto's and Valerie's make the best. Roll tacos have also been my favorites. My family enjoyed a variety of different dishes and appreciated the queso and chips that the guy at the counter brought to the table. There were 8 of us. Unlike other Valerie's this guy was so kind he brought all the meals to the table even though it was just a few steps from the counter and most other places just call a number or have you pick up at the counter. I especially appreciate Valerie's because I can remain on my carnivore diet with a little deviation of the carne asada burrito in a bowl without the tortilla with a bit of guacamole and a little pico de gallo. I usually keep my carbs under 10 and this is about 4 for a rather large bowl of carne asada, quac and pico. It's my favorite guilty pleasure. They also have an excellent machaca burrito that can be put into a bowl without the tortilla. I literally live between two Valerie's in McKinney but my daughter wanted to go to this one because they live in Whitesboro which is a bit closer for them to drive. It was a great experience the staff was kind and helpful. We always enjoy Valerie's we are so glad you joined us in Texas. By the way I have a cousin in Forney that would enjoy your food how about one in Rockwall. We get together for dinner and are always looking for a great place to stay on our carnivore way of eating. read more

Had rolled shredded chicken - AKA taquitos, it was crunchy, lots of guac and shredded cheese the chicken was only filled less than half inside, some places the chicken was over fried, it was good more tortilla, than meat. (3/5) Carne Asada chimichanga was Huuge, flour tortilla was nicely flakey and crispy. Filled with refried beans, well seasoned steak, shredded cheese and guac on top can get sour cream on top, pico de gallo and lettuce on side. I never knew this place was there, I was driving by one day and decided to stop at this taco shop with family. The young gentleman was friendly but could use some customer service. It was our first time there, so maybe greeting the customers and helping them out with the menu. The place could use a bit more decor to catch the customers attention, make it more fun, seems a bit dead. I enjoyed the music blasting from the back but maybe having it play through out the restaurant. The shop had a tv on but was playing some kid program with the volume on. Asked for no onions on the shredded chicken burrito, was told that's impossible as they use onions in everything they cook. I asked if there are any meats that they don't cook onions with, guy at the window told me the pollo asado does not get cooked with onions, I said I'll take that with no onions please. I love me some street tacos when done right. They don't do the small portioned street tacos, but instead, charge you $4 for a large taco like Velvet Taco or Torchy's. The Shrimp Enchiladas were not good. The Trompo de Pastor was good and done right. I didn't care for the Elote but the Agua Frescas hit the spot. I don't know... Best place in Texas to get authentic California Mexican food. Every time I'm in San Diego I always stop by the mom and pop taco shops for delicious homemade authentic food. The only thing that's different here is that you're not in San Diego. The tacos were amazingly tasty and fresh. My daughter love love loved the fries. The rolled tacos were crispy and loaded with guacamole. The tortilla chips were the best ever, just out of the frier, piping hot, salted! The queso was thick and cheesy and stuck well to the chips The churro was the best ever, as it was delivered hot and thoroughly covered with delicious cinnamon sugar. They have a drive-through, but we wanted to order our food in person for takeout to check out this newest location. We were greeted with welcoming smiles and acknowledgments. The inside of the restaurant is clean and cute with Mexican paintings on the wall. We ordered the Californian Burrito, the Conga burrito, side of rice and beans, and 3 rolled tacos. We also grabbed a few salsa, pickled Jalapeño and carrots from the fresh salsa bar. Everything was delicious!! The quality of food was fresh and well prepared.
