I came here last month because my normal place was closed and I needed a manicure that day. My first experience was good, they have a LOT of colors to choose from, and my dip manicure lasted over a month with no chips or breaks, so I decided to come back again. This second time the woman who did my nails cut up my cuticles/nail beds so badly that they were all bleeding and stinging for days. She was talking on her phone using EarPods the entire time she was doing my nails which honestly I didn't care about until I realized how bad the work was. She kept apologizing for cutting one of my nails, so she definitely knew what she had done. I didn't really realize how bad it was until I got home otherwise I would have certainly asked for a discount. I've been getting dip manis for years at many different salons and have never had an experience like this. Would not return here!
This place is such a gem! I live in Austin and was visiting family in Richmond and was hoping to find a good spot to get my powder dip manicure done. My mom and I decided to check this place out due to the great reviews and close proximity to her house. We were not disappointed! My mom got a standard manicure and pedicure and enjoyed it so much! She said it was very relaxing and her nail tech did an awesome job. They look really nice. I have been doing the powder dip manicure for a few months now and love how long it lasts and how shiny it is. My nail tech was Jenny and she was awesome! She was very knowledgeable about the dip process, how to achieve the right shape and making sure it was exactly what I wanted. The salon is clean, organized and has a great selection of colors and the pricing is extremely fair. I felt like we got a great service, nothing was rushed and everyone was very nice!
Day 1 of dip nails, but so far I love it. I think my technician was jenny? I can't remember her name but she was really thorough. I went to another location and it felt thick but after going to Valerie's, my nails feel normal-- not excessively thick and they're beautiful! Only thing is she didn't clean the glue or whatever under my nails, but other than that-- GREAT job. I'll post another review after it's been a week or so to see the progress! Day 9 of dip nails-- it started "crusting" or whatever around the edges as it grew out but I also went today to get a pedicure and jenny buffed out my edges a little and made them look new again!! However after the oil came off you could tell where it was buffed which looked kinda weird. Overall, I would still come back.
I've been going here for over two years and it's been a great experience since the first time i've been serviced. Angel is an angel with the lashes and Donny is a beast with the manicures. Jennifer keeps my toes perfected and Valerie is the sweetest person ever! Amazing amazing amazing (:
I came in and waited about 10 minutes on Sunday. Miss Valerie took care of my dip powder nails and she did a great job. The shape and color were exactly what I wanted. Update: 3 weeks later and not one chip, or crack. And I've been rough will my nails. Very impressed!
Less than 2 days after getting a basic manicure the nail polish has already begun to chip. *$15 basic manicure and $5 shellac removal
I came to this place strictly off of reviews on yelp. I left the nail shop next door because my usual girl moved out of state. Valeries husband (Donny) did my nails and someone else dud my pedicure. They had great customer service and did a phenomenal job!!! I am thoroughly impressed and will be back.... They offer you drinks (which is customary now days at most bail shops) and they don't nickel and dime you by charging you for broke nails which I like. The guy that did my nails was a perfectionist and made sure they were perfect and I am a very picky person about how my nails are done.... I highly recommend this place if you live near by!!!
This review is long overdue... My fiancé and I just bought a house in Richmond, and the fact that it was closer to Valerie's salon was - NO B.S.! - part of my decision!!! I found her randomly when I was visiting my mom in Sugar Land and desperately seeking dip powder. Since then, I've been commuting to her salon from our place in Midtown. Crazy, I know, but if that doesn't speak volumes for her work, I don't know what will. I'm so glad I found her because she's now my go to, whether I'm near or far. Not only does she do an immaculate job on my nails, but she genuinely cares about her customers. My first visit to her salon, I gave her a big hug when I left! She's so sincere and I have the deepest respect for her. I hope her business grows and flourishes. She's now the only one I trust for nails, and I'm so excited to be moving closer!!!
I came in on a Saturday around lunch time without an appointment and had a 20 minute or so wait, which was not bad. A male employee, who was working on someone's nails, made sure to occasionally look up and make sure I'm doing okay and I was offered water as I waited as well. I did not mind the wait and expected it due to the time I'm coming in. Valerie ended up doing my nails and she did an amazing job. I got a dip powder manicure on my natural nails and she was very attentive to details, much more than nail techs in the past with dip powder. My nails were not not thick or clumpy as they have been in the past. I will definitely be back!

I was looking for a new nail salon near home & found Valerie's on yelp. I decided to try the dipping nails as I have to wear my nails short now for work & wanted a transition from traditional acrylic. I'm in LOVE....it has been 10 days and lots of hand washing and they look like I just had them done! Dan did my nails and I will definitely be returning. Even thinking about bringing my daughter as a solution to her nail biting.

Decided to try a new nail salon b/c the salon I was going to was in DESPERATE need of new dip colors. (I was considering going back to Shellac due to their limited color choices for dip) I saw reviews for Valerie's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. They literally have 10 rings w/about 30 samples each for in dip colors....immediately I was SOLD!!! After choosing my color, my services immediately began (and I was a walk-in on a Friday). Jenny was my nail tech and did a great job!! She was very pleasant & thorough. I was pleased with both my nails, and polish change on my toes. The salon was clean. Restrooms were immaculate & very well designed. They also have a frequent visit punch card that earns you a discount after so many services $25 and up. I've found my new nail salon!!! read more

This color was not what I asked for. As soon as she started I saw the dip turning this purple and I asked if she grabbed the right powder, the number matched but the COLOR did not. She brought the color swatch I picked and confirmed that it would turn out but it obviously wasn't a burgundy it's a galaxy purple ugh. What a waste of my time and money, they did give me 5 dollars off, so here's 2 stars. So I returned the next day after the lady's sister ran out to offer that I can get my nails redone. The next day, I was approached by the lady who did my nails (older)and said if I get it redone I need to pay 5 dollars because she was upset I asked for a discount?? This is not good customer service at all, I'm not expecting so much from a nail salon but this encounter with her was very rude. read more

My daughter went for manicure and pedicure. This place did an awful job!! A lot of the nails were smudged. This was even after it was 'fixed' twice!! I would NOT recommend this place. read more

Went here Friday before Christmas around 9:30/9:45 am. My plan was to get my nails done just before Christmas since shellac french mani usually lasts me a whole month before I need to get it redone. I was a walk-in, and the person asked me what I wanted. I said mani/pedi. So I got a spot right away. She asked me what color I wanted for pedi, which I had no clue where the nail polishes were located. So she pointed it out. Chose one and sat in the pedi chair. I'm used to being asked what kind of manicure I want. No questions. She just started on my pedicure. I noticed some lady getting a pedi and mani done at the same time, which is what I'm used to. Nobody came to work on my mani. So I just chilled and watched my show on my phone. Then I reminded the person working on my pedicure that I wanted a manicure. She nodded. She finished my pedi and started on my manicure, but she still didn't ask what kind of manicure I wanted. So I kept watching my show. Then I realized she's already massaging my arms, which is at the end of the manicure. So I told her, I wanted shellac French manicure. Then of course she had to work on it. Ugh. So it took about an hour and a half to get all that done, which should have been a 45 minute job to an hour max since I didn't have to get any shellac removed. Felt bad for her since she was the only one who worked on me so I gave her a 20% tip. The next day my shellac started to chip. My nails didn't even make it to Christmas day without any chips. To top it off, the nails stained. How?!!!! This is some bad quality nail polish. Anyway. I'm annoyed. I was going to give this place a second chance, but I wasted $$, and my nails look like they are a month old. Super annoyed. I was glad that they did a massage. However, I'd rather get good quality manicure over a massage. My nails look awful. Now I have to get it redone. It's so hard to find a good nail salon! I am giving this place 3 stars because the work is adequate; they massage you, and it's fairly clean looking. However, I've had much better manicures in the past. Oh and the massage chair I sat on was broken. Ugh. The pedi is adequate as well. I have had better. read more

Head over to Valerie's and ask for Jenny to get the perfect dip powder nails. She has excellent taste and the salon is clean and friendly! Only place around to get dip powder which is well worth it- healthy strong nails without the chemical smell and nail pressure. read more

Valerie's is AMAZING! Everyone is very nice, friendly and accommodating. I'm obsessed with nail dip and they have a huge selection filled with a wide variety of color's. Try it out for yourself! I use to only get acrylics and I'm SO happy I stopped. My nails have grown more and are healthier than ever before. read more

Once again- a local business that treats you like family! Very professional and very good at their business! They did our nails for my daughter and her wediing party and tbe stylist that we had at the wedding remarked how nice our nails were- she couldnt have done a better job! Call for appointment as they are following COVID restrictions ! You will love them! read more

This was my first time here and also my first time getting dip nails! I came in to get an acrylic fill but after asking about dip nails I was convinced it was better for my nails and what I needed. I don't have time to wait on nails to dry for 20 plus minutes and it was dry within only a few minutes. Valerie was so sweet and accommodating. She gently removed my acrylic nails and proceeded with the dip nails. I'm done with acrylic nails after this! Plus her work is amazing! I'm a stickler when it comes to my nails and I have zero complaints. I'll be back in 2 weeks! read more

Such a great team at this salon. No need to overpay for the other salons. You have a classy salon with mimosas, wine, and other drinks for your needs. They have a cute chair for little girls and only charge $10 for kids polish charge (feet and hands). read more

This is my 3rd time visiting this salon and I always feel my nails are on point when I leave. I get dipped nails and would recommend them to anyone. When it comes to designs I like the fact that they are willing to try, I am notorious for bringing in ideas O have seen on Pinterest and they have always accommodated me. Love this nail salon and the fact that it is super close to my house is always a plus. read more

Saw the reviews and they are honest facts. They are the only nail salon that does powder dipping in this area. I decided to give it a try and Angel did an amazing job!
