I used to really like coming here but I feel the quality has decreased and price has increased. I brought my mom here with me and I understanding pricing but Lyna did not do a good job with my mom's pedicure, she rushed through it and didn't cut off all the skin and left dirt under her toenails. My mom asked for only a topcoat and the painting is poor. Communication is also not the best. Tammy was really nice but gave me gel polish on my toes instead of regular without communicating that and I ended up paying 15$ extra. I asked for regular white nail polish no gel. Absolutely DO NOT recommend this place if you are used to clean, detailed nail salons. The gentleman was actually very nice and detailed, but the tech that did my nails was a bit harsh with her choice of words and messy with her work. Then again it may be the way she just talks. I asked for a sheer glitter over my nails because I went with an idea of American theme for my nails. Well they chose the color and I was fine with it because they showed it to me first. So after she started working on my nails, I asked if the glitter was going to be put over after, her responds was a bit rude. She said i was going to have "messy nails and don't look good". Again, I'm like ok maybe it's HER OPINION but I was looking to get MY nails done. So sure, I was respectful and just stayed quiet but annoyed. The nail color is beautiful I don't mind it. The results of the experience was gross at the end. She was telling me that my nails were going to look messy and not good, but her work was far disgusting. My hands are covered in dry stuff and peeling from whatever thing they used to take off my previous dipped nails from (Nails of America River Oaks) which are my go to always. This first time experience was not great. Will not return nor will recommend it to my friend who said she saw this place near her house and has not gone yet. So therefore not recommending this place to her. Sharing the nails I wanted vs what I got. Oh mind you, it's $5 more because I wanted a third color. Logically I'm not asking for design or more work. Haven't been here in years/since Ly, and it has definitely changed. Don't think I've been somewhere, especially in COVID times that accepts/prefers cash over card but here they only accept Cash or Zelle. Be prepared to have one or the other, luckily I use Zelle because I seldom have that much cash on me. 3 stars is for the payment options along with the manicure I received. I usually will stop a service if I'm not satisfied, however my spa pedicure was pretty much done by the time my manicure was halfway complete. 1) she was rushing, in my opinion, cutting my cuticles and I have two cuts (same hand separate fingers) to prove it. 2) After cutting my nails to ensure they were even in length, she didn't care to ask what shape I wanted and just did a square (not square-oval) shape. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but I know her face and will not allow her to provide any services to me in the future. Took a while to write this review but here it is. This salon is such a scam and rip off. The owner "Jesse" charges by her "time" and not a set / menu price. I have been here a couple times because Jesse is okay at her work not great but does nice shape. Can't do designs like she says she can. I came in one time (with an appointment) and she made me wait over an hour( I was going out of town ) so I waited. While I was getting my pedicure. My pedicure was over and I was still waiting. She didn't come over to let me know she was sorry or anything. I had to ask for her twice. Their excuse was she was working on someone's nails and the lady wanted a really long set... and that's my problem how? I made an appointment. Anyways, to the main event I came in to get a full set (no designs) I just added 3 SMALL diamonds on two nails. Coffin shape, medium length... she charged me 115$ on this. I was appalled I ended up paying a total of 198$ I got my pedicure the same one I always get. "Gotta have it" or something like that... the math was not mathing. I am one person. The price she made up and pulled out of her a** was such a slap in the face and so greedy. I don't mind spending the money but this was ridiculous. I was there for 2 hours not more than that.... And she supposedly charges for her time. But my time isn't valid enough when she made me wait over an hour, I didn't complain at all I even came back and spent my money. She's greedy and rude. She's the type that will rip you off for that moment and not think about longevity of a customer. Oh and they add this crazy % to all CC tabs. So bring cash if you choose to come here Do better... When I went in there was one lady finishing up and one came in for a wax. I got a full set, pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. The lady that did my toes was wonderful, super sweet and took her time. The women who did my nails was rough. She cut my pinky and ring finger. She kept filing it and I told her twice it keeps burning on the two fingers not realizing I was cut. I asked her to just do shellac, she demanded I do powder on my nails. Another thing I didn't enjoy was that they were very loud and pointing at me and then laughing. I don't need to know the language to know when your taking about someone. She did do a good job on my eyebrows. My birthday is Friday and I'm a little disappointed with my nails especially since I paid $60 bucks for them alone. I'm giving it a two star because the women that did my toes was great. read more

A group of us came here before our friend/sister's wedding to get mani & pedis done. I was in charge of planning the event so I called a few different salons to see if they could take a group and compare prices. This salon has really good prices and could take a group AND the hospitality immediately took the cake so we booked here. When I mentioned it was a bridal event, the owner told me she would add in a few extras and decorations, but she totally outdid herself! When we arrived, there were roses, balloons, banners, chocolate, desserts, and a cheese and meats tray plus mimosas and other beverages. The decorations totally made our bride feel special! I have never experienced such special treatment at a nail salon before and it was really lovely! Most of us got gel mani and pedis and the technicians did a great job-- it was one of the best manicures I have had in quite a while. Lots of color choices for both regular polish and shellac/gel. I definitely recommend Grand Nails Bar for a group gathering or if you are local to the area! It's easy to find and there is easy parking too. My friend is a regular here and I am officially a regular! Its a little far out from where I stay but its totally worth it. I come after work so its not as busy as the weekends. It's so relaxing and I love the menthol oil they use on your leg massage. They also use a lime wedge with part of the cleansing. I forgot what package I pick for my pedicure. I pick the second one for $35. You get a nice hot towel wrap after. The nail tech uses a timer so it shows I do get a full 10 minute massage. My friend did a package above mine where it comes with paraffin wax. I didn't even know they make foot warmers for your paraffin wax! My friend who is extremely picky when it comes to her nails gets her powder dip done here. I haven't done dip yet, but looking at the process it looks pretty clean here and very multitasking if you're getting a pedi while waiting for the removal of the old dip for new. The staff are nice and for coming a few weeknights, I see a lot of regulars they have. Can't wait to go back for my next upcoming visit! read more

My review is based off the service I received in February. Due to wedding and Covid I have delayed this. I came to this nail salon to get my nails done for my wedding, I'm not from the area so the reviews seemed great. I wanted a relaxing time the day before the wedding. I made an appointment previously. I got my nails done by the owner(manager?). All I was wanting were my nails to be painted and nothing else. While the owner was priming my nails she kept asking if I wanted acrylic and I continued to say no. She kept explaining how it's nice for weddings, but I kept explaining it isn't what I wanted. She finally dropped it. Throughout doing my nails, she would get up, answer the phone and also help the other customers. There were only 4 of us inside and place was pretty empty. When the base coat was put on my nails, many fibers from the towel I had my hands on got embedded in the base coat. I didn't notice this until the actual polish went on. When she put the polish on, she didn't have any dry time between the two coats, therefore my nails started to bubble. I had bubbling and also fibers sticking out of my nails (I figured I could file the fibers off). I asked her to redo my ring fingernail because it was bubbling the worst and I knew there would be lots of pictures with that nail involved.. as she was redoing it she said "you have to let the coats dry." I know this... I worked with polish for 5 years, but she was putting it on so quickly, causing it to bubble. She then had me sit under the UV light for 10 minutes. After that she came over with the topcoat and put it on my nails. As soon as she started to put it on, I could smell it was a quick dry topcoat. Quick dry topcoats cause shrinking of nail polish, so this made me even more upset. Sure enough, once fully dry, the edges of the polish shrunk. I would not recommend this place... care isn't taken towards customers. I only got a photo of the shrinking (sorry for the bad quality). Grand Nails Bar opened up near our house and at first I was very hesitant on visiting as I was dedicated to my old Salon, however there were a couple times my regulars weren't there so I gave Grand Nails a try. Service: Chee did my dipped powder nails and she did a fantastic job. I later returned with my cousins and we received pedicures, but I would say they all did a good job. Grand Nails has a rewards program as well as specials off and on. They rewarded me for sending referrals which was a great surprise. I've been coming to grand nails for roughly 4years now. Here, I have seen good management, great management, management that needed improvement and I still I remain. I always seem to find someone I like there. Nancy is bomb!! She is very talented and efficient with time. She's someone I'd certainly recommend. I've gotten over caring too much about touches with management as they have seemed to improved with their customer service. I like to have a wine and not talk much while relaxing and getting my nails done with current trends and classic designs. It's conveniently located and comparable in price to other shops nearby. Most recently I got my nails done and they were very pretty. I will attach pics that the spa took of my nails. I had the same exact service and design that I had gotten previously (4weeks to be exact- have to give it up to Nancy for being meticulous enough to create a better grow out period). I got two more nails filled w rhinestones this time around. When I went up to pay the very first thing the owner said was the price and IMMEDIATELY began to tell me why it was the price it was. I hadn't even asked or questioned the price by that point but her already being in defense over the price was disconcerting. So I then asked, "what was the exact breakdown for the increase?" She repeated stuff but couldn't seem to understand what I was saying. Naturally I'd assume anything extra is going to be an extra fee, but when I said, "ok, it's $15.00 extra for both rhinestone nails?" She replied, "no, it's just the price!" So there was an obvious language barrier in that moment and unfortunately her need to defend her pricing before I even thought to question it made an almost happy client, underwhelmed. However, the owners husband is the manager and is a fluent speaker or English and also comes across as genuine and kind. She's the talent and he is the brand ambassador. I encourage this salon to allow the Manager to continue to do the engaging and be the voice for the salon and continue to hire great talent. I believe they can continue on an incline with that as their foundation. Would I recommend this place? Yes, it's clean, relaxing and close to hwy99 and west park. Pricing is good. They are up to date with trends and Nancy is great so far! What would I want fixed? Be more consistent with pricing. I've actually received the exact same style and service before and paid extra the next time and was told that the technician must've undercharged me before. So, yes, having firm pricing for how much add-ons cost etc would be great. Knowing what the "$5 off special referred to would be nice! And of course don't start off a sentence on the defense. Bc I wouldn't have even thought to question the price at that time, since I did get extras. But a manager being passive aggressive isn't okay. Will I return? Yes. Give them a try if you're in the market for a new nail place. Simply, ask for pricing upfront and simply lay back and relax knowing your nails will look dope. The salon is newer to the area, and was easy to find. Inside, it was very clean and modern. Being that it was a Thursday afternoon, it wasn't busy, and I was able to get service quickly. There were many colors to choose from here. The thing that usually annoys me the most about other nail salons is that they rush you to pick out your colors. They were patient with me while I chose the colors I wanted, and even gave me recommendations when I asked. The two ladies that did my nails were very friendly, clean, and thorough. The one who did my pedicure gave me a 10 minute leg/feet massage and actually had a timer running. You know many places do some quick rubs here and there and call it a massage. Not here. The one who did my manicure also gave me a nice and quick arm/hand massage as well. I appreciated all of this. I will have to see how long the nail polish stays on without chipping! This is a relatively new place close to my neighborhood! I absolutely love this place. I have been here several times. Compared to other places in Houston, it is a little bit more pricey. However, you know what you are paying for. Also, compared to the outrageous DMV prices, this place is a win. The best time to go is during the week as traffic is slower and they are not in a rush. Whether in a rush or not though, they do a great job. The place is very clean and spacious. The staff is courteous. There is complimentary drinks, including alcohol...haha. I usually get mani-pedi shellac done. One time, I got some glow in the dark polish for my vacation and it was also nice and stayed on for my 3 weeks trip and 2 extra weeks.
