This owner does not respect his customers' time and money. Go to him if you buy luxury clothes and don't care he doesn't finish the job on time. He will treat you more serious if you take luxury brand clothes to him. I was a regular customer. He never finished the job on time. And he always came up with different excuses when he couldn't finish the job on time. And the excuses were always some people did something to him so he didn't finish the job. The most recent experience was horrible. I drove down to his shop to pick up my clothes on the date he told me. Nothing was completed. He said he need more time. Then I called him on the date he promised that he will complete the work-- the answer was again job not yet finished, need more time. Short story is he changed the finishing date 3 times without calling me to tell me he didn't finish the job. So I drove down to his store 2 times just to hear him telling me that he needs more time. I also called him a few times to make sure he actually finished the job before I drove down. The answer was always not ready yet. He offered $40 off on a $215 bill. He said he will not charge me for one of the skirts. The truth was He suggested to shorten that skirt, I told him Not to. And the skirt was shortened when I picked it up. This really pains me to write a negative review about this mans business. I know this is his livelihood at stake here but I also think other people need to know about about negative experiences when choosing a place to take their expensive clothing to. This was my first time visiting this tailor. I was previously using a different tailor in the valley and never had a bad experience. I wanted to try someone knew to see if there were any differences. So I take in my brand new Paige jeans, which cost about $170. I simply wanted to have them hemmed and the bottoms tapered in a little. I dropped the jeans off on Monday or Tuesday and was told to pick them up on Friday. When I went in Friday I was told they wouldn't be done till after 2pm. I said no problem I'll just come in Monday. Monday comes and their still not done, was told to come back in 30 mintues. I said no problem I'll just come back tomorrow. Tuesday comes and they're still not done. Thursday morning comes, I call and was told they're going to be done in 5 minutes, I say I'll be there in an hour. I show up and they're still not done. I wait for 20 mintues for him to work on them. Finally they are done. I try them real quick and head home. When I get home I notice one pant leg is an inch longer than the other and the tapering is also too tight. Normally I guess I would go back and have him fix it, but I can't deal with his false promises anymore. So now I'm stuck with my expensive jeans screwed up and unsure what to do. Avoid this place at all cost! I dropped my work uniform off almost 6 months ago and every time I went back to pick it up he gave me a new excuse. First he left my uniform at his girlfriends house, the second time same excuse, the third time he was on vacation, the fourth time he was randomly closed, the fifth time he was on vacation again. When I finally did receive all of my uniform pierces, they weren't even done. Out of 4 shirts he only did one. What on earth had he been doing for 6 months!! When I told him about it he made it seem like I was crazy. There is something wrong with this man, he's very disorganized, doesn't do anything he's promised and then tries to charm his way out of it. I took the dress in March and he said that it would be ready by April 13, 2023. I even gave him an extra day for him to have a bit more time. Very rude. ruined my dress and was being very aggressive. He began yellIng at me for no reason and began saying that he did alter the dress correctly when he removed all of the dress train. He did not understand the emotional connection the dress had to me. Once i took off the dress, he snatched it right out of my hands and began to put his hands on me and yanked the dress away from me. Valentine has worked on 5 suits for me. Every single one of them fit perfectly. Tremendous attention to detail. Even the thread he uses is of extremely high quality. Every jacket of mine requires him to detach both sleeves, tailor them and re-attach the sleeves. He's done an impeccable job. How'd I know? I just turn the jacket inside out and I see the perfectly spaced hand-stitches. I've seen him work behind the desk and he is a master of his art. If you have searched high and low for a reputable tailor, then breathe a sigh of relief; Valenti Custom Tailoring (VCT) is the place you've been seeking. Valentin, the owner of VCT, hails from Romania where he underwent a rigorous course of instruction at a tailoring school. The subsequent closure of that school is an index of how quickly the world is losing the art of tailoring. Fortunately for us, Valentin has preserved that disappearing art. An anecdote will show the complete trust that I repose in Valentin. I own a beautiful Johnny Carson suit that had hung in my closet unworn for 14 years because I did not want to entrust it to some hack who would ruin it. Valentin is the only tailor I trusted to handle the tailoring and he made the suit fit me like a glove, first taking it apart, then "basting" it back onto me piece by piece. THAT is how a master tailor works. Valentin has subsequently re-tailored a number of my other suits in this manner and they all look and fit much better than before. I have also brought Valentin several pieces of vintage clothing to re-tailor because he has studied the tailoring and design of historical eras like the 1920s and 30s. For example, I owned a tuxedo jacket that was made in 1940 but had no pants to go with it. I brought in a pair of black wool suit pants, which Valentin converted into tuxedo pants with grosgrain stripe and so forth. It is impossible to tell that the pants were not originally made to go with the jacket. One note of caution: VCT is a one-man operation, meaning you may have to wait a while before you get your clothes back. But would you rather entrust your suit to some amateur who promises to get it back to you in an hour, or would you rather wait a little bit and get back one of Valentin's masterpieces? Be wise and make VCT your first and only choice for tailoring. read more

I brought my wedding dress in to Valenti's for some alterations to the style. He explained what we could and could not do with it based on the fabric and the stitching. I ended up having him remove my sleeves so I could be comfortable. He saved the appliqués that were removed when detaching the sleeves, and we decided to add them to the shoulders! It's gorgeous! I will update this review with pictures of the dress after the wedding! I am over the moon excited about how Valentine was able to alter my dress! It was so reasonably priced too!!!! I've been a customer of Valenti for over 3 years now and I am constantly impressed with his level of skill and professionalism. Whether it's a simple hemming of pants (I'm short and need to get EVERY pair of pants I purchase hemmed) or a full jacket rebuild, he navigates the task with deft and ease. As some have mentioned, Valenti is not the cheapest tailor in Phoenix. Not that ANYONE should look for that. What you get for your money at Valenti's shop is expert craftsmanship that comes from years of dedicated practice. Brought my daughters dress for repairs to fit as desired dress had a train explain to keep train this dress was a special dress have an emotional connection as was gifted to her by family and decided to use Valenti services as I heard he does great work on March 29th was when I dropped it off told me they'd be done on the April 13th. I went back on the 14th and he apologized that it was still not ready, advise had driven from far away to pick up the dress and needed the dress he asked for me to come back before he close at 6 pm same day I left to give him time when I came back he handed the dress to my daughter to try on I walked in with her notice the train of the dress was off and the straps on the dress had a horrible job done I walk out of dressing room and explain to him how dissatisfied I was that he had in my opinion ruined her dress and showed him of pictures before he said dress was wearable was not ruined he said would not leave with the dress would buy the dress from me ask for me to bring in a receipt explaining the dress was not for sale was a gift and had an emotional connection he took the dress from my daughters hands and dd was not taking the dress said would call the police and would take me to court sd was not going to get a freebie I said I would not leave with out the dress and he put his hands on me and yanked the dress off my hands he got aggressive and I felt assaulted in front of my daughters he admitted that he had messed up the dress and said would give a discount of 40 dollars from the bill said he didn't care for any emotional connections and didn't trust me and needed cash money to take the dress home I explained I didn't have cash only card I ask him to charge my card and to give me my daughters dress at this point I felt in scared that he had gone off on me in front of my 2 daughters which are minors and felt scared luckily my daughter was able to record it on her phone he charged my card and hand the dress said would remember my name I ask that he did because I would never use his service was not professional said didn't care he said the business runs with out me and didn't care I walked out Super disappointed I wish I had never walked in for his service and had my daughters experienced this treatment . Do not go here. They are horrible and awful people. I found out two days before my wedding that they had not finished my wedding dress. I wish I could call every bride that Marcia is about to screw over because she is too busy getting drunk. One time when I went in for a fitting her face was all scratched up and she said it was because she was drunk and fell out of her car. She kept sending me texts that it would be finished and two days before my wedding she promised it would be done and I showed up to the store to find out that she hadn't been to work all week and nothing had been done. The business owner was not very sympathetic and just talked about it was impacting him the whole time. I begged him to work on my dress and he refused to do it. He did not take responsibility that his employee wasn't coming to work. I ended up going to Phoenix Custom Tailors and they did an amazing job and was able to finish my dress in two days. read more

I've been going to Valenti for a couple months now and despite the fact I'm not a big review writer, I realized that I would be remiss in letting another day go by without sharing my experiences. To take a step back, I'm an up and coming designer by the way of Los Angeles. I've lived in Philadelphia, New York and even overseas for a while. Needless to say, I'm cultured. After transitioning to Phoenix just months ago to build my business, I stumbled upon Valenti from Yelp by none other than the Grace of God. In the 12 years I've been in Los Angeles, and believe me, I've been all over LA, I have NEVER found someone with such a gift for tailoring. There is literally no job too big or small. His professionalism, true to the game experience, creative input and efficiency is second to none! I promise you -- THERE IS NO ONE IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA who can do what he does .... believe me, I have the highest expectation for quality and I have done my due diligence. Most of the other "tailors" claim that they indulge in custom or bespoke but as soon as you drop off your materials to be cut and sewn, they're quickly in the mail to their outsourced shops in Southeast Asia. Valenti keeps everything right in house, from his hands to your closet. The man has sheer wherewithal and talent -- a passion for perfection that you just can't put a price on. He's a one of one operation, a one-man army. So long as you're a little patient with your more difficult requests, he'll make you a happy customer. I was always taught that you can't rush greatness.
