I was quoted $25.00 to clean my suit. I dropped it off. I honestly didn't know what is considered expensive or not because I hadn't had a suit cleaned for a while. I could not remember what the price was so I had my wife call and ask how much suits where to cleaned. The woman who answered the phone said it was $21.00 tax included. I told the guy about the call and he said that was a lie. I am assuming he simply looked at me and gave me a higher price for SOME reason? To be honest I'm sick of it. I'm going to regal cleaners from here on out. $4.75 per item, $9.50 to clean my suit there. P.s. I checked Tony's web site and the woman my wife spoke to on the phone was correct with her pricing according to HIS web site. He simply looked at me and gave me a higher price. Needed a suit dry cleaned by the next day for a wedding. Went to 2 different places before stopping into Tony's. Although they couldn't get it dry cleaned by the time framed I needed, the lady took one look and said All you need is a steam and it'll be done in 10mins. It could have been longer but I wouldn't have noticed because of the very friendly conversation I had! read more

I took in two rugs to be shampooed they were fine when they went in. I received a call from the cleaners telling me they needed repair and it would cost $100 or more. Since they were fine when I took them in I said no. When I picked them up both of them had one side ripped off. No wonder they said they needed repairs . I don't know their rug washing process but I've had rugs washed before without having edges torn off. I don't recommend them for washing rugs. read more

I love Tony's Dry Cleaners. Really great location, you can't miss them on 7th Street. Locally and family owned - I always love supporting a local, family business when I can! I have to use their dry-cleaning services fairly regularly as my job requires me to wear suits, slacks, blouses, etc. Everything always comes back neat and pressed and without any odor. They create that perfect line down the middle of your slacks - you know the kind of crease that makes it look like you just bought them! Pricing is reasonable - their prices are all listed on their website. I normally have 5 - 6 garments done every other week, and it normally runs between $40 and $60 depending on the garment. All in all, highly recommend! I will keep using Tony's for my dry-cleaning needs. read more

Box is very sturdy but they provide another thick layer protective box. Showcases my wedding dress beautifully. None of me designs on my dress are gone and the beads are intact. I'm amazed at how well they treated my dress. Total was around $200. Which I think is amazing considering how dirty it was. They charge $7 for a shirt. $20 for a suit. Insane. For about 10 items, my total was about $85. They do not have their prices up in the store, and they did not tell me how much it would be before hand. There are a handful of other places in the area that do just as good of a job. Took my wedding dress to be pressed before my big day. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My dress was beautifully pressed and they even hung it in a form instead of just a hanger. They also do keepsake boxing for your wedding dress to preserve it for years to come. All my embellishments were intact and overall absolutely great service. Definitely would recommend. read more

I took 2 coats in to be altered. On the first coat only the sleeves were to be shortened. On the second coat the sleeves and the coat length were to be shortened. We, my daughter (who's coats these were) and I, returned to Tony's a week later to pick up both coats. My daughter tried on the first coat, that only needed the sleeves shortened, and she looked a bit apprehensive and a bit perplexed. But none-the-less she opted to take the coat as she was leaving back to college and needed the coat. When we left Tony's my daughter commented that it didn't feel right in the sleeves, as if it was bunching and it felt uncomfortable to her. I told her to leave it but she insisted that she would need a coat. The second coat that needed both the sleeves and length shortened was left there because they said it wasn't ready and would be another week. When I returned a week later to pick up the coat it was very visible to me that the job was not done properly. The front of the coat was uneven, I would come to later find out, it was a whole 1/2 inch off. Also, at the bottom of both the right and left sides of the coat there was a zigzag stitch that shouldn't have been there, it should have been a straight stitch. The sleeves also looked as if there was too much lining fabric where it joins the exterior of the coat. From the backside of the coat, at the bottom, the lining was visible (hanging down too far). When I questioned the employee she said her seamstress was gone for the day and to just leave the coat there so she could fix it. When I returned 2 weeks later to pick up the coat there were no changes made to the coat at all. When I questioned the owner about why the seamstress put a zigzag stitch on the two bottom sides she said that was the only way it could be done to close the coat. I asked why the seamstress didn't go in from inside the lining and she said, "That would have been too much work". When questioned why it was still uneven she said it was because it was on the hanger and that once I put the coat on it would be fine. I explained to her that that wasn't the way it was when I originally purchased the coat, that the coat was nice and even at the bottom. She insisted I put the coat on, I told her it wasn't my coat and it wouldn't fit me because the coat belonged to my daughter who was away at college by this time. By this time I just wanted to take my coat somewhere else to have it fixed but she was insistent on having the seamstress do repairs right then while I waited. I told her no that the coat had already been left there for them to fix and they failed to do anything to fix it in the three weeks since it was originally promised to me. I simply wanted my coat and I expressed that I wasn't going to pay for it because the job wasn't done properly and she grabbed my coat. I then pulled out my cell phone to call the police so that I could get my merchandise back and she proceeded to charge me for the work done, even though it was very clear that I was not satisfied and I was neither confident nor comfortable with leaving my coat any longer. The owner proceeded to tell me to never bring anything to her again and I promised her I wouldn't. It's been several weeks but I've since had this coat fixed by FIT ALTERATIONS, they did a phenomenal job! I would advise to NEVER take anything to TONY'S CLEANERS AND TAILORS FOR ALTERATIONS. I really don't think the seamstress knows what she's doing. read more

Not sure what changed - I've gone here several times and today picked up my suit jacket and it smells like mildew - it's a dry clean only jacket so I'm not too sure what they did - my husband and son also agree that it smells - I did not say anything to staff as I didn't realize this until I got home and pulled off the plastic - I'm thinking it's time for a new dry cleaners. read more

I just moved to Phoenix and decided to try this place since it's very close to my new house. I went there for the first time this week, and unfortunately, it'll be my last. Dry-cleaning businesses aren't exactly rare, so anything less than a satisfying experience means I'm taking my business to the next one down the street. That's exactly what happened with Tony's. To be fair, the cleaning service was fine. They didn't lose or damage my clothes and they all came back fine. However, I certainly wasn't blown away with the customer service. The lady who took my clothes was adequately pleasant, but didn't take the time to answer my questions--well, she didn't even give me the chance to ask them. She didn't count the items in front of me as most places do, she didn't ask about stains or starch preferences, nor did she warn me that my wife's silk robe would cost almost as much to clean ($13) as it was to buy. The only information/confirmation I got regarding my order was in the receipt she gave me before I left. She didn't tell me when my order would be ready until I came back into the store to ask after having gotten into my car. And I found out later that the order was ready a day earlier than her quoted pick-up date (something she apparently does regularly to cover her butt, which I get, but I really could've used some of the pieces a day earlier). The prices were okay. They weren't ridiculous, but were on the high side. My biggest issue was with my wife's silk robe, which is pretty small and thin. Thirteen dollars seemed high--maybe it's not--but I should have been warned about something that expensive since we would not have had it cleaned had we known the price. My 3 dress shirts came out to $6.75, five pairs of pants totaled $27.75, and a silk blouse was $6.20. These totals were prior to Tony's tacking on an 8% "Environmental" fee; I have no idea what this includes. Again, I'm new to the area, so I don't know whether this is required by local law or just something Tony's has created to add 8% to their revenue. But I've never heard of it before and was a little annoyed when I saw it on the bill, as this was something else that would've been nice to have been warned about. The parking situation also sucks. They've only got parking for two cars. To be fair, I was satisfied with the actual dry-cleaning; I can't really complain about how my clothes were cleaned and pressed. But since there are several dry-cleaners within short driving distance to my house, I don't plan on returning to Tony's. read more

I've been going to Tony's for years now, and it wasn't until recently I finally had it up to here and found another dry cleaner. They always dry cleaned my dress shirts, sweaters, and pants for a reasonable price and the staff is always very nice. That's a big plus. But a couple years ago I needed some alterations done for a pair of slacks. They were finished and looked great - for two wearings. Then the new seams fell apart and they looked horrible again. I had them done by another tailor and they're still in great shape after years of wear. I hate paying multiple times for the same job, but I figured it happens. Then I started traveling a lot, and I thought if I have the shirts folded it would be less wrinkles than me folding them myself and packing away. It definitely helped but this exposed another problem that ended up being the dealbreaker. When they're folded, I can't see if they've actually CLEANED the shirts. Several times I've gone in with stains on my shirts - simple soy sauce from sushi or spots of oily food or something. I would have them flag it with tape so it gets worked on like normal. But when I pick up my shirts they're all folded up and boxed. I pack them up and fly to my job only to find out that THREE of the four shirts had the stains on them still! No word to me that they tried and couldn't get them out. No "I'm sorry" or "Hey, these were too tough for us". They just pressed them into the fabric more and sent me on my way. So I look like a slob that week angry that Tony's dropped the ball on this one. This happened two other times and I finally said that's IT. I actually started laundering my shirts at home, air drying and dropping them off to Tony's so I could control the washing portion of the process. I finally got tired of doing all this and switched to another cleaner by the house and noticed that even the folded shirts have fewer wrinkles than what I would get at Tony's. Sometimes even the people pressing the shirt would hard press a crease into it. I mean, you're watching how this is going when you do it, right? Why would you press a crease into my shirt? It seems like the quality has really fallen here, and they may consistently lose customers until they step it up. I will miss the nice people. And I hope they figure this out. But I won't be back for a while if ever. read more

So, I went here because it is really close to my house. I dropped off my jacket and they said it would be $8.50!! Yikes. . . I know of plenty cleaners in my old neck of the woods for $2.25. Not only were the prices exceptionally high. . . but the staff was very awkward and not customer service oriented. . . After they stated the price for their service I avoided any conflict by saying: "Oh, you know what let me step out front and make sure this is the dry cleaners my mom wants me to drop it off at." The lady started to hand me my jacket back when two men (that were hanging around, watching me talk to the employee) walked forward and asked me if there was a problem. . . I told them no with a smile and politely left. . . So if you like awkward and over priced service. This is your place! ;p read more

I never write reviews but I am tired of being disappointed in this place which is so near my home. I usually drive a couple miles further because Tonys is expensive and unfriendly, sometimes rude. and not that good. I got a trench coat back once that was all wrinkled on inside and they charged $16. I needed something quick this week and didn't have time to drive further. Once again the reception person was not only unfriendly, but downright rude. I suggest Kachina or maybe Arcadia cleaners. Further but better service and maybe even a smile or a thank you. read more
