Small family owned, mostly spanish but workable English. They were professional and high quality alterations with high quality silk thread used. The fit upon completion was exact and pleasing. Bad service. Our suits were picked up today and when I called to confirm they acted like they didn't have them started. Mind you they've been there since the 13th of May! Tried on the suit and the jacket had not been touched, the pants have crooked stitching, the shirt is completely wrinkled. Do not bring your clothing here to be altered. Complete joke of a business. Only went here on a recommendation and I simply put, was not happy. I went in with a suit jacket that needed EVERYTHING done on it.. I'm not a tailor so I said "please make this fit"... after laying down $80 for a jacket/pant combo I went home after being unsure of the jacket fit.. the sleeves were the obvious one to me.. I was swimming in the sleeves.. when I brought it back, he charged me another $15 to taper.. Now, like I said, I'm not a tailor, but when I say "make this fit" I would have thought that means make w/e adjustments necessary. I decided to pay the $15 thinking everything would be fixed and great!......Not so much... I could not even cross my arms after finishing with this tailor. I understand how a jacket should fit and this was horribly wrong. I refused to take my shirt/vest to this place so I found a place closer to home.. "Maria's Alterations" in Sun City West saved the day! When I laid the jacket down on her table her eyes blew up with shock. She showed me the crooked lines that the previous tailor had stitched. The inside seam of jacket looks like it was stitched by someone wearing oven gloves. Not ok for a "professional" I just picked up my jacket from Maria and was almost brought to tears because of how great it now fits! This is my wedding jacket so you can understand how upsetting it was to have this first tailor chop my jacket up like they did! Pros: Easy to find, reasonable prices, close to my home, always has available parking Cons: I used to come here because it was the closest to my home. I just had to stop. They messed up my clothes 30% of the time, but I still kept coming. However, they absolutely destroyed a pair of pants I brought in one time. Don't blink, cuz you'll miss them driving down 24th street. If you do happen to find the place and are able to squeeze into their "parking lot", then I think you'll be happy. I have come here for the last 10 years. I don't think the place has changed much in the last 10 decades. Yes, that is a hundred years. But, still keep coming back because they haven't screwed up anything of mine. Yes, they do only speak spanish. I don't know what Rand is talking about, regarding them being Vietnamese. I guess I always work with the Spanish crew. I have brought in a leather jacket and they altered it for less than $20. A place on Indian School wanted $80+ because it was real leather. I have brought in slacks, button replacements, zipper fixes, belt loop repairs, and converted button up shirts to slim fits. Everything came out great, as directed. Pay on the average of $5 to $7. I find that the more I bring in, the less I pay per item. For example, if I bring in a button replacement, I might $3. If I bring in a pair of slacks to taper the legs, than maybe it'll cost $7. But if I bring in both at the same time, I might end up paying $8 for everything. My advice, take the extra minute or two to ensure they know what you want. After they put in the pins for the location of the sew, cut, etc., put the clothing back on for a double-check. Also, learn a little spanish, or vietnamese. It'll go a long way. I try to stay fair and reasonably positive on my reviews of restaurants because its hard for me to be that critical of all the great restaurants I've been to. However, when I go to get my clothes tailored and my shirt I had comes back looking like it belongs on a 12 year old boy, I just can't let that go. I'll be fair and say that the other shirt I had done came out fine. But either way, I'm gonna look around next time. read more

This place is great! I had a pair of pants that needed to be taken up and they were quick to help. I needed them in a pinch and they got them done, and done well. Everyone here is extremely friendly, and makes you feel like family. They even sewed on a new button for my shirt while I was dropping my pants off. If you need any alterations (or Creations for that matter), this is the place to go! They are cash only, but there's a Chase across the street if you need it. read more

The reason the review is in the middle is because he deals with Parker & Schmidt Clothiers and actually has his cards in their shop. Michael Schmidt is someone to avoid like the plague. This shop is where Michael's customers are sent when Michael has screwed up another order. This business (Creations & Alterations has to clean up Michael's messes and benefits from altering at last minute orders that Michael dropped the ball on. So this shop is great and they know what they are doing hence 3 stars, otherwise Michael Schmidt 0 stars. read more

I am disappointed in this place. I walked in one day to query about the price to just hem a wedding dress and was quoted $15. I was super excited since my budget for the wedding is almost nothing. So I got there and was ignored for the first 3 mins then the woman told me to go put on the dress. I did so and she had me stand on the rises, told me how she would bustle it and put one in in the hem and one at the bustle point and said "that's it, you're done." Really? That's it. She didn't let me give her my input, she didn't pin it all the way around to ensure it was even, nothing. She didn't even listen when i told her I wanted some of the lace at the bottom removed. She also didn't look at the bodice to see if it fit well, it does but I think it could fit a bit better. Being stressed and in a rush I bagged up the dress and gave it to the clerk who told me I could pick it up on Oct 8th (4 days before my wedding!) and it was only Sept 16? I was told on the phone the turn around time was 7 days. I was a bit distressed by this but left it with them anyway. I left the store and realized they hadn't quoted me a price so I went back in. They wanted $150. I told them I was quoted $15 and I only paid $100 for the dress to begin with. They didn't say anything. I left and left the dress with them. I got home and pondered their poor treatment and apparent disregard for my desires for my gown so I called them and canceled the alteration. They hadn't done anything with it yet (THANK GOD). I picked it up the next day and will be either doing it myself or going elsewhere. For something as special as your wedding you need a tailor that puts YOU and your wishes first and doesn't rush you in and out. GO ELSEWHERE! read more
