LE truly went above and beyond for me…read more I was referred by Mariee's Bridal in Scottsdale to Suzanne's Sewing to have my wedding dress altered, and unfortunately it turned into a disaster. After my very first appointment, my dress went from fitting perfectly to not fitting at all, and with every subsequent appointment it only got worse. Two weeks before my wedding, I realized I had to take a chance and find someone else. I called Le and she knew even before seeing the dress, she immediately understood what was going on and agreed to see me at the end of her workday. When she finally saw the dress, she was shocked by the condition it was in. It had essentially been slapped together by Suzanne's Sewing. The dress had been stretched out and damaged from being repeatedly taken in and out, and mismatched material had even been added under the arm area and along the sides that looked nothing like the original fabric. LE worked on my dress every single day. During the first week I was in the shop every other day, and the week before the wedding I was there every evening. The night before we left for the wedding, I didn't leave her shop until 3 a.m. Despite the condition the dress was in, LE managed to completely transform it. She made sure it fit me perfectly and that the corrective alterations looked seamless. She even prepared a backup dress for me in case the original dress ripped during the reception because of the previous damage. LE is incredibly skilled and has a remarkable eye for detail. With formal gowns, every adjustment affects the entire structure of the dress. If someone doesn't fully understand how each change impacts the rest of the garment, the results can quickly spiral into bigger problems. LE clearly understands this craft at a very high level. If you are getting married or have a special event, this is absolutely the place you should go for alterations...DO NOT GO TO SUZANNE'S SEWING!

They also happen to be just up Bell Road from where I live so I decided I was going to stop in. I was greeted right away and Yuriy took a look at the tear in the comforter. He was able to do the repair right then for me and charged a good price. Do note that he only takes cash and he's a nice man with a nice local business so be sure to leave him a tip! I originally had Marcia help me with creating outfits for my daughters quinceañera (she had drawn up some designs for her court) and Marcia met with us, heard her ideas, looked at her drawings, asked for measurements, and was able to execute almost exactly what my daughter wanted (almost exactly because some of what she wanted was not even possible but was improvised in a wonderful way). This left us with such unique designs that no other quinceañera court will ever have, and that means the world to us! Marcia was detail oriented, incredibly creative, and understood my daughter's creative vision too (and even I was having a hard time with it!) Marcia also helped me to completely update a few formal dresses, two of which were for my daughter's quinceañera too (yes, we both had two outfit changes for the evening!). She helped me put a slit in one, shorten the length, put sleeves on it (which we later removed too), and the other one - she helped me make this one bigger - and it was REALLY tough, it was gorgeous and so very detailed and lacey and it just seemed impossible... I'd gone to five other places before finding Marcia that had told me they'd charge me an arm and both legs OR that it was simply NOT possible. So I thought it wasn't... it wasn't until I shared my story with Marcia, she asked me to see the dress and she told me YES, she could do it! Marcia was up for the challenge and executed not only perfectly but so beautifully too! I felt like a queen and it was gorgeous. She knows how to work with all kinds of fabric, various types of designs and she can create something new from scratch from ideas or visions or she can update or revamp your pieces. She has done all of these for me! Marcia does alterations also and does a great job!! She's helped me to get a last minute dress fix done right away and it saved me from having to go find a new dress in another state for a wedding!!! She helped me with making this dress shorter & fixing the length without losing the beauty of the puff at the bottom (hopefully you'll see in the pics) and shorter straps for my bust / arm area, although I did want to have some cleavage She also helped my partner fix the sleeves on his suit (made them shorter) and this was also a rush request that she did a great job with. I was so excited when I found her because a good designer is really hard to find, let alone one who is personable, patient, responsive and easy to work with, who also does great work. She does things rapidly too with tight turnaround time for an up charge but it's still affordable when you compare to going to a major box store or something! Her space is open from 1:30-6:30pm and by appointment only, so let her know when you can come by and she will coordinate with you. I loved her work, working with her, and the quality of the work for affordable prices. She'll work with your schedule and make your clothing dreams come true. Give her a try.

Liudmila (?) the Asian woman who works here did a nice job with this, for $40 per cover. I did inquire about having a zippered closure, which she said would be $60 each, which is a bit out of my price range. I'm happy with the results! In the past I also had her fix an Eddie Bauer jacket that had a hole, and also hem a shirt with sleeves that were too long. She works fast, finishing alternations in ~2-3 days. Cash only! Only reason for less than 5 stars is because she did visually judge my partner and I (lesbian couple) because my partner has dyed hair. Other reviews note that she refused service to a lesbian couple. Also, I am an ambulatory wheelchair user and she asked me "who is the wheelchair for?" and looked surprised and confused when I said "me." She did not refuse service to me but wasn't the most accepting.

I specified (and paid extra) for the original hem to be preserved and got back jeans with a tiny little tight hem that does not look like a jeans hem and makes the flared bottom look stiff, not relaxed. Would definitely never take your designer jeans here and I'm personally never going to use them again.
