Worst place ever! Please listen closely to negative reviews. I am very cautious when talking about the reputation of a business. Yet, this alterations parlor truly just plain out screamed for a bad review to be written for them. Tina at the front desk treated me so rudely during my multiple visits. By rudely I mean very indifferent, acts like you are disturbing her busy schedule in the back of the lobby area additionally doesn't greet. No eye contact whatsoever just looking at job item or looking away with a irritated/annoyed noticeable attitude. Initially I thought, this might mean that she takes her job very serious and therefore I will see excellent results upon returned clothing item. She quote me two weeks for initial job. I called a week later, she answer the phone rudely with negative remark asking if I received a notification of job completion which I didn't. I went ahead and stop by to drop off additional items to be altered on a second occasion while the 1st job was still pending completion. I thought perhaps this day is a fresh start and last day was just a bad day for her. I was wrong; she displayed the same disrespectful attitude, mind you I didn't even asked for the pending item being worked on. Tina showed a very factual attitude/interest as all she cared for was for me to leave items and so she can continue in the back room. It made me a bit nervous and I was hopeful that she captured my specific instructions on the additional two items dropped off. By the third stop I made at shop; this time now to pick up all three items, she just handed stuff back, pointed me to where to try them if I wished and she rudely walked away back to her back room without even making an effort to care if she accomplish the job desired by customer. At that point, I was the one who no longer wanted to be spending not one more minute of my time in such a negative environment. I tried on my pieces at home. The hem on the pants were cut too short, and the other two shirts had the wrong areas adjusted. Tina did whatever she chose to do with items, not what I attempted to explain to her during the drop off visit. I am now having to go to another place to repair her poorly done job on my pieces. I've been coming here for years for dry cleaning, that in itself has been fine. Most recently, I came to get a $70 dress hemmed for $80. That's when I met the owner and I wish I hadn't. Extremely rude, no sense of service, and asked how many months I was. I was not pregnant. She blamed it on my hand placement and was not apologetic what so ever. When I picked up my dress she acted as if she never made those remarks towards me. The service of the cashier has always been poor. It's always the same gal. I felt this job was poorly done and when I called to let them know, the lady on the phone asked for me to bring them in. I brought in 3 repairs and paid 3 dollars! Back home that would've been at least 15 bux each! So first of all they are very reasonably priced. Second of all they do a good job of dry cleaning, efficient and you can even do drive through. Finally, I had a few dresses taken in here and she did a wonderful job! Very precise and professional. Again at a reasonable price. The seamstress is great and will look for any button or other fabric that you need to make your clothing truly yours. The location is convenient, service is average at best, quality of dry cleaning is alright, and prices seem to be higher than average. I relocated to downtown a few months ago and the drive to the best dry cleaner in town, Pony Express in Scottsdale has become inconvenient so I've been using Alterations and Creations. For a dry cleaner I feel like their hours are slightly inconvenient. I work business hours, out of the house by 7:15A and home by 5:45p. Their hours are 7a-6p. It's a rush to get home to drop off or pick up. Cleaners service business professionals and should have hours to accommodate them. 6a-7p would be much better. The level of service is alright but not great. I hate that I can't just drop my bag off and leave. I have to pull out all of my clothes and have them counted on the counter. I have everything outside of undergarments laundered so it's a pain to go through this every time. Plus, I don't want my literal dirty laundry on display for the world! They like clients to prepay and offer a paltry discount of 5% for prepay orders over $25.00. My last dry cleaner gave me 20% off orders of 20 pieces--a generous savings. I popped in one evening after work with a few items to be hemmed, it was about 5:40p. I asked the lady at the counter for alterations and from the back area I hear a huff. The woman that does the alterations seemed very irritated by the request. I was informed that she normally was off at 5 and I was lucky to have caught her. I can appreciate hard working people wanting to get home and be with their families but don't let it show. After trying some charm on her she lightened up a little and did accommodate a quick completion date. Finally, they DO NOT accept AMERICAN EXPRESS! I use my Amex for 99% of my purchases and bills. It's inconvenient to use another card to only charge dry cleaning. Amex clients spend more than any other card holder. It would be prudent to accept American Express. Will continue to use them only due to the location. read more

The best thing about this business would be the location. That's pretty much it sadly to say. Granted during the holidays, I know it can be busy for a small businesses but services that are prepaid for should be ready to go by the agreed date. 12/20/18 I brought a pair of pants in at 11am to be hemmed with a cuff. The interaction wasn't cold but it wasn't friendly either, more akin to an exchange with TSA, which isn't my gripe. Got my measurements done, prepaid in full for the hem with a cuff, and given a date/time for pickup 12/26/18 after 5pm. 12/26/18 I go in just after 5pm and upon retrieval of the pants the cashier informs me that the seamstress forgot to cuff the pants. It was hemmed as desired but the work wasn't completed as initially agreed upon. I informed the cashier that I couldn't leave it there any longer as I had a flight to catch that evening but these were the pants that I would be wearing for NYE and they were not altered accordingly. No heads up was made prior nor was an apology given, I was just told to bring it back in when I returned to town. I know this small detail wasn't that bad on the grand scale as the pants were still wearable but any customer who paid in full and received an incomplete service wouldn't be satisfied right? They did some alterations but created more of a headache and I don't plan on returning here for future services, which is a shame because the location is great. read more

Not only did the costumes arrive in time but they were perfection and very reasonably priced! She is a delight to work with and her skills as a seamstress are unsurpassed. Every thing fit perfectly! This place is truly talented!! I brought in a torn jacket that was slated as irreparable by another alteration shop in Mesa. To my surprise, the kind lady inspected the jacket and indicated that it was going to take a few days but they were able to fix it. After a week, I came in today to pick it up and was beyond impressed that the jacket looked like it had never experienced damage. Not only were they able to salvage a personal favorite item of mine, they've earned a new dry cleaning customer! I highly recommend this place for any or all alterations and dry cleaning needs! This place is too pricey for dry cleaning - and I am never sure what I am going to end up paying. Usually, 4 items (a mix between dress shirts, slacks, basic dresses) costs around $20 - $25 and has a three or four day turn around period. I've also used their tailoring services to get a pair of pants hemmed and was disappointed in the outcome - they were still too long. The main selling point on this place was the location, it really is the only dry cleaners downtown. And the cute dog is fun to pet. But, I've recently discovered another cleaners uptown who charges less than half and will have it ready for me the same day - that's worth a drive! read more

And she has a great eye and knows how to make things look best on you. She took two suits that I had that were already "custom" and made them truly custom and fit PERFECT. When they "drycleaned" a suit but returned it to me wrinkled I dismissed it as a one-off, despite their total lack of professionalism in the situation. The final straw was when I asked them to repair a broken zipper. I begrudgingly paid a "rush fee" despite the fact that it wasn't a rush by any measure. When I picked up the pants, the zipper didn't work. I had to bring it in a second time and wait three days. No surprise, but they refused to refund the "rush fee." read more

If you actually go by the term "A-OK" that goes along with 3 stars on the Yelp rating system, then Alterations... is just that. I give them a fair amount of regular business for both dry cleaning and tailoring (hey, I'm a 23 year old, trying to look like a 23 year old, in a 12 year old's body). The actual work done is good and very standardized. For example: I wanted a shirt taken in; it was done, and done well, but when I showed up a few hours earlier than what was listed on my ticket, they turned me away...(?)
