Just had the worse experience here. I came here in on Friday Feb 6th to have my jeans tailored that were too baggy from the knee up and groin area. During our fitting I explained to Patricia how I wanted the bottom of my jeans to stay untouched as I was happy with the flare. She agreed and said she would be done by Friday. I paid $60 upfront. Friday came and I gave her a call to see what time would work so I could pick up my jeans. She said she hadn't gotten to them and would be done on Sunday. Sunday rolls around and I give her a call she says she sick and has to go the clinic. Of course I was understanding and did not at all give her a hard time about it. She said I will call you when they are ready. I agreed. She called today Wednesday almost two weeks, still I'm patient and kind to her over the phone as I ultimately grateful to have found someone who can tailor jeans. For context apparently it's hard to locate a tailor who has the right equipment for jeans. When I arrive I try the jeans on and notice she had taken the bottom flare of the jeans in, not what I had requested. When I kindly brought it up to her attention, she said that this was the style and that the bottom was still 9 inches long. I kindly asked if she could let them out and redo the bottom...she says yes but it will cost you $40. I tried to explained how it did not seem fair when I had explained beforehand what my desired style was. At this point she became super defensive and would not make eye contact when expressing my dissatisfaction along with interrupting me mid sentence. After one last attempt to salvage my experience I explained to her how I could tell she does great work to what she replied "well if you don't like it why don't you do it yourself" at this moment politeness went out the window and I ultimately let her know how rude and unprofessional she was and how I would be writing a review. She said "go ahead and threat me with a bad review" I walked out and will not be returning. After seeing the reviews here I can see why many have called her a scammer. Please save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. read more

I give this place a ZERO. This was one of the most unprofessional and disrespectful customer service experiences I've ever had. I brought in a pair of pants and clearly requested two alterations: hemming the pant legs and adjusting the waistband. When I returned, only the pant legs had been altered. When I tried to explain that the waistband was also part of the original request, Patricia Ramón González, the owner, immediately became dismissive and argumentative. She raised her voice, talked over me, and insisted I was wrong. Before I could even finish explaining, she abruptly took the pants from me. She then turned her back and refused to continue the conversation. When I asked her to look up the order, she refused and said, "bring your ticket". I had to drive back home to retrieve the ticket, which clearly confirmed that both the waistband and pant hem were included in the original request. When I returned and showed proof, there was still no apology, no accountability--nothing. Instead, she immediately shifted the focus to charging me an additional $30, claiming she hadn't charged enough the first time. At no point did she acknowledge her behavior. The lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and accountability was shocking. You could not get a word in, and any attempt to resolve the issue was met with hostility. She mocked the idea of "losing a customer. I support small businesses and understand that mistakes happen. What is unacceptable is treating customers with disrespect and refusing to take responsibility when proven wrong. No refund! I am left wondering if this is a real establishment or a front. I read the reviews and many describe the same experience I had. It's a shame. Not that she cares - that's evident - I will not return and cannot recommend this business. She is unhinged and lacks common decency for her customers. I hope she actually reads this - I dare her to deny what happened. I looked her up on BBB and too bad she's not registered. It's taken me over a year to write this review, but the fact that I'm still this upset over my experience here should tell you how horrible it was. I cannot let it go, avoid this place at all costs. I truly believe this woman is a scam artist. I brought in patio cushions to have reupholstered because I was getting my house photographed to list to sell at the time. I told her on the front end that I had pictures set up in a few weeks and needed them by a certain date, she said no problem. I also asked her if I could pay half up front and half when I pick up, to make sure the work was done right, again she said no problem and was very polite about. Fast forward I come back to pick up the patio cushions on the date we agreed upon, and she had unexpectedly closed her shop for a week, leaving nothing but a note on her door. I tried to reach her via phone and could not get in touch with anyone. I then had to reschedule my photos and pay a fee for that. Fast forward again I go back a week later, bc I had no other option but to wait until when the note said she'd return, and she's there but the cushions are not done. She apologized and said that she would have them done by the end of that week. At this time she showed me she had already stripped them of the old material so I could not just take them somewhere else. I left them there, agreed to the new date and explained to her that she had already cost me one rescheduling fee and it was not acceptable and they needed to be done by the new date. Of course I come in on the new date we agreed on and she hasn't even worked on them. When I confront her about this she says it's because I only paid half up front and she needed it all up front. I asked her why she didn't say this when we agreed on payment in the beginning or the last time I was at her shop. Then she starts screaming at me that she has cancer and doesn't trust me to pay her, and wouldn't return my cushions (even not done) or the hundreds of dollars of fabric that I bought and brought to her until I paid her. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a business. Patricia is not just unprofessional, she is completely unhinged. I brought her a dress with a simple alteration and was told it would be ready Tuesday. I showed up every single day after that and it was never ready. I finally picked it up Saturday and guess what? It didn't fit. Not even close. I brought it back and she had the audacity to charge me more to fix her own mistake. Against my better judgment, I paid it. She told me to call before I came in the next day, I did, and she told me to come pick it up. I drove over again and IT STILL WASN'T DONE. I asked for a refund for half the extra charge and she agreed. Fast forward to today: I call to confirm pickup and she literally says, "I don't do work for that cheap" and hangs up on me. I called back and she told me she's "too busy" and to just come get the dress because she's not doing it. When I show up, she yells at me in front of other customers about how she "knows her worth" and "doesn't work for cheap" like I'm the one who's being unreasonable. I reminded her of the agreement she made the day before and she tells me she just changed her mind. That's it. No warning. No apology. No professionalism. I've wasted my time, my gas, and my money making SEVEN trips to this disaster of a shop, and I still don't have a finished dress. This woman is a menace. I genuinely feared she might get physical. I've never been screamed at by a business owner like this in my life. Save yourself the emotional distress and avoid this place like the plague. I wouldn't recommend her services to my worst enemy. Very frustrating experience with a dress my daughter was having altered. On the date, she said it would be ready we called to verify and the dress wasn't ready. Then we rescheduled and when we went in for the next appointment, she said she didn't have time for my daughter to try on the dress to make sure the altercations were correct because she had an appointment but no one was there. She was the one who originally encouraged us to try the dress on after alterations to ensure the dress fit. She hung up on my daughter when trying to schedule another time to go in. This was the worst experience at an alteration place I've ever had. I dropped off a very expensive golf bag and some patches to get so on as a retirement gift for a colleague, and Patricia told me she could handle it within the five days I was there in town so I could deliver it to him on the last day. She said no problem she understood I had some embroidery on it that she could not place patches over and we were all set for a pick up on Sunday. I showed up on Sunday and she had completely destroyed the bag. She only sewed on three of the patches and they covered up the embroidery that I paid for when getting it made. The rest of the patches had been glued on with Velcro and the glue was dripping and hard and all around it. Her work was absolutely terrible, and for paying $300 to get these 13 patches sewn on, I was shocked to see such poor craftsmanship. I asked her why she did Velcro and ruin the bag with glue instead of calling me and she said she could fix it over the next few weeks. I said that didn't work and I needed the bag tomorrow as I had mentioned to her in the beginning and she started screaming at me, saying she'll not give me a refund and I'll have to take it up with my bank. She's not sure what's the truth is if I'm only in town for five days or living here or what. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a vendor, and I can't believe she gets any business at all. I cannot recommend avoiding this shit hole enough. read more

Horrible experience!! I asked to have a pillow reticked. The first time I came to pick it up, she had covered out with just regular cotton quilting material not the supple ticking for pillows. I did pay over $40 to have this done. She said she would try to find some fabric and do it. I went back and she had taken my pillow, not called me and donated it to Goodwill it has been over 90 days from the original date that I was in there. Mind you she never called and it says nothing on the receipt about must be picked up by 90 days to me that is theft! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I dropped two items off for completion in February. One item needed to be repaired and one item needed to be hemmed. The owner was told when the items needed to be competed by and it was a hard deadline as I needed one of the items for an event. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick up my items and the shop was closed with a note stating she needed to time to catch up and reorganize. I finally get my items back today and the alteration to the skirt is comically bad. The hem is so crooked that it looks like a small child did the work. THIS is why she makes you pay up front. No other alterations place does this. It's because she knows her work is garbage. of course when you ask for a refund she says no. The skirt is brand new and now it is a complete mess. I will have to take it somewhere else to correct the mess she made. I also have a claim with my bank for reimbursement. As an aside, when picking up the two items, they were not bagged and not together. It took her a minute to find the item that was in for repair. This place is a disorganized disaster. STAY AWAY. She will take your money, ruin your clothes and then smirk in your face when you ask for your money back. She might look like a cute, old grandma, but she is a straight up grifter. read more

She was amazing! She did everything perfectly. I forgot to get my dress from her thinking that I already picked it up with the rest of my clothes and she kept the dress for more than a month. Had a great experience with Patricia at Alterations Best Stitch! Despite a small panic moment when I showed up at the store to pick up my tailored tuxedo to find them closed during hours, I was able to contact Patricia via WhatsApp (via their business phone number, or a link on their Facebook page) and she explained she was handling an emergency for another client at their wedding ceremony. I hate to leave bad reviews, especially about a small business, but my experience with Alterations Best Stitch warrants a 1 star review. I dropped off a total of 8 items. Here is how it went: 2 shirts successfully tailored, 1 sweater lost and then returned without being tailored, 1 brand new $200 dollar shirt ruined(tailored way too tight... can't even put it on), 1 pair of pants successfully tailored and 2 pairs of pants returned to me without being tailored and 1 pair of pants completely lost. I was given a refund for the tailoring cost($145), but I was not compensated for the ruined shirt or the lost pair of pants. I am considering suing her in small claims court. Horrible experience. Patricia is a dream come true! I am so thankful for her work. A few weeks ago, I brought in a floor-length silk dress with a difficult request: I wanted it hemmed, but only temporarily. I didn't want a full-length dress for my upcoming less-formal event, but at the same time, the dress was too beautiful to permanently trim! Patricia warned me that there were difficulties with this request, but I decided to take the risk anyways. I wasn't certain how it would turn out, but the end result was GORGEOUS. She hemmed it in such a way that the stitches can be removed and it can be a full-length dress again-- and you could barely tell that alterations had been made. This woman totally ruined a pair of pants I asked her to alter and would not fix it nor return my money. But the worse offense is, she lost a pair of dress pants I asked her to fix 9 months ago. Every other week I'd go in to ask for them, and at first she said she hadn't gotten to them yet. As weeks turned to months, her story turned to, "I have to find them, come back tomorrow/next week", etc. Finally today the cops got involved and she LIED, telling them she fixed and returned the pants but I brought them back unsatisfied and never came back for them. This is my first Yelp review. I strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere. This tailor ruined my bridesmaid dress and refused to give me a refund. She hemmed the dress crooked and way too short. The slip was sticking out unevenly at the bottom. The zipper was taken in so poorly the dress bunched at the side. I asked for a refund and they kept saying they would get back to me. The last time I called asking for a refund the owner hung up on me. I have been nothing but polite since I came into this store 2.5 weeks ago. The dress was not done on time and the owner's assistant Michelle continued to tell a different story for why the owner was unavailable. I cannot imagine they do quality work based on the condition of my bridesmaid dress which was a very simple dress. Fortunately another tailer was able to salvage the dress; though, nothing could be done about the length. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! If I could give a negative stars I would. I took my dress in for a small stitch fix and basic cleaning. Took over a week which I was okay with as long as it was done correctly. I went today to pick up my dress since the slip said pick up date was today. And to my surprise the owner said "I gave your dress to another person". She said it like it was a piece of candy or something. She then said I will get with the person and you can come back to pick it up and I'll call you before 4pm. I called several times before 5pm and no response from her. I got off work and drive back to the shop and she advised the person that has my dress left out of town and I will have to wait until he decides to come back into town. So in the meantime she said I need to wait another week for my dress which who knows if this dress will ever make it back in my hands. She has not offered to pay me the value of the dress or even a refund for the services. So in the mean time I have to wait and hope that I get my dress back. Never again will I bring any of my clothes or recommend this to anyone!!!! ***UPDATE*** after four weeks of waiting I was finally able to pick up my dress after finding out that the whole reason for the dress being there was to fix a stitch. The stitch was never fixed and the owner said to leave it another day and she would do it but I elected to not leave it another day as I would not know if I would ever get it back or maybe it could be given to another person and I'll wait a year to get it back. This has been the worse experience of my life and would never wish someone go through this. Save your money and mental health and find a better place. Sadly I asked for a refund for not completing the job requested and she denied that to me and I did not want to deal with this place no longer so I guess it's a $14 loss and 4 weeks loss as well. Positive note at least the dress is in my possession and I will definitely be reading all the reviews on the next place I take my things to. read more

Had to go back three times to pick up my dress, asked for a refund on things that were not done and the owner stated that she did not charge me for them in the first place but my receipt clearly said differently and I was charged for the specific alterations that were not done.
