Wheelchair cushion cover: I'm a young woman who uses a wheelchair. I came in to have a few extra pull-over cushion covers made out of Lycra fabric (which I provided). Liudmila (?) the Asian woman who works here did a nice job with this, for $40 per cover. I did inquire about having a zippered closure, which she said would be $60 each, which is a bit out of my price range. I'm happy with the results! In the past I also had her fix an Eddie Bauer jacket that had a hole, and also hem a shirt with sleeves that were too long. She works fast, finishing alternations in ~2-3 days. Cash only! Only reason for less than 5 stars is because she did visually judge my partner and I (lesbian couple) because my partner has dyed hair. Other reviews note that she refused service to a lesbian couple. Also, I am an ambulatory wheelchair user and she asked me "who is the wheelchair for?" and looked surprised and confused when I said "me." She did not refuse service to me but wasn't the most accepting. read more

I had a pair of new Levi jeans that fit great but were very big around my waist, I took them into Ludmila and she did amazing! Took them in and did the stitching down the back seam of the jeans, you can't even tell they were altered and now they fit like they were made for me. I have never encountered such rude customer service. I came in to ask about pricing for a simple pant alteration. The price quoted was much higher than expected, so I politely said I would need to go elsewhere. In response, I was told to leave and never come back. The interaction left me stunned. I was treated dismissively from the moment I walked in and wasn't even acknowledged upon entering. I gathered my belongings and left as quickly as I could. Very disappointing experience. I was hoping to have found a place to bring a lot of business to, but I ended up leaving almost in tears. Please take your money elsewhere and avoid giving your money to someone who does not deserve it. I truly have never met such an evil person, I never write negative reviews (I made a Yelp account so that I could write this) but am writing this to hopefully make sure no one ever experiences what I did today. read more

I appreciate Liudmila's expert advice. I took a gown to be shortened that I had purchased from a "personal stylist" at a major department store, and it turned out I needed a larger size for it to fit perfectly. It was completely worth the effort to exchange it, because after she was finished with it, it fit perfectly and was far more comfortable than the original gown. Now I know it's better to buy a larger size and let her fit it to my exact measurements. I will be back! read more

On time, alterations were perfect, and the price was very reasonable. Everyone was professional and helpful.

I had a last minute invite to a final event, I had a dress that was perfect for the event but it was too big. I called on Friday and ask if there was any chance they could help me, I described the dress and what I was hoping to get altered, and that I'd need the dress by Sunday ‍ I spoke with Liudmila and she said she'd see what she could do to help me! Long story short, I went to the shop and was quickly pinned and adjusted. Liudmila assured me she'd have the alterations ready by Sunday. She did not disappoint! I received a text from her the next day letting me know she had finished the alterations The dress was a silky material with lots of folds, it would be so easy to mess it up but you would have no idea that it was taken in and received a whole new zipper! She did an amazing job, and was very helpful and friendly. I am planning to go back and get some more alterations done soon read more

All I can say is wow!!! So pleased! I took a dress in to my normal tailor and got quoted 2 weeks to bring the dress up several inches and hem. I needed the dress in 4 days for my Bachelorette party in Vegas so tried Phoenix Alterations instead because they were open on Sundays and said the turn around time was quick. Very happy with the service that I received here. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with. I took in a formal dress with a flared skirt that was 2 layers so both layers needed to be hemmed. There was a flaw in the bodice of the dress which she fixed for me. I also asked her to steam the dress. I was happy with the price and when I picked the dress up and tried it on, it was perfect. After Susan Marie Tailoring butchered my wife's dress' hem, Phoenix Alterations managed to find stuff we hadn't noticed that Susan had screwed up. The owner of Phoenix Alterations fixed it fast, was affordable, and quite honestly is one of the interesting people you can ever meet. I came back to have a suit tailored since then, and plan on going back for all future tailoring and alteration needs. She repaired my wife's wedding dress in 1/10th of the time it took Susan Marie Tailoring to screw up the dress and cancel on us last minute. I would give this place negative stars if I could. I brought in a pair of jeans to have a small repair done. The rude woman INSISTED they needed to be washed first. They were clean, no stains or dirt, and I don't need to be treated like a child. She also quoted an outrageous price and said I would have to pay in advance, both of which I would have done if she wasn't so obnoxious and insulting. I went in there seeing if I can get an alteration that had already been altered by someone else but I did not like it. Wasn't greeted by the old lady when i entered and I explained what I needed and explained what happened at the last alteration. She started telling me that she's not responsible for it possibly having holes/not looking good from the previous alteration which was valid. Then she started saying how it was a bad job (like yeah i know that's why i'm here) and asking if the person who did it previously if they were mexican???? i told her that the race does not matter and she said yes it does!!! she kept asking me stupid back handed questions and that's when i realized i was going to take my business elsewhere. when i walked out i heard her say "it awful" and that was my last straw and it prompted me to write this. if you can go anywhere else, go somewhere else. save ur time and money! read more
