Stay clear of this place if you're looking for wedding dress alterations. The owner argues with you the entire time and messed up the alterations after having my dress for 7 weeks. Mind you, the dress just needed minor alterations at the top and to create a bustle. She pulled my top down in the middle of the store to cut out the cups (WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR while I was still wearing the dress) they had sloppily sewn in. My chest was exposed and it was very degrading. After this point, I told her that I would have to take the dress somewhere else to fix, I was tired of her arguing with me. This place is not equipped for wedding dress alterations and they will mess up your wedding dress. She also had the nerve to curse me and my marriage on my way out! This was in front of 2 other customers as well. Totally unprofessional and truly terrible experience. I now have to take my dress to another alteration shop to fix. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would! First, Irina sold the business over the summer, who did excellent work. She listened & asked questions. I took a chance with new owner/workers. I won't be back. I had them work on 5 pants and 1 skirt. First, one pant hem is incorrectly folded and sewn in one leg making it bunch. Second, another pant was to be shortened but still present the ragged unfinished hem look at bottom of the jeans. They cut and hemmed it with the ragged unfinished look gone. Ok I thought, I'm just not gonna write a review and never return. Nope, the third Jean pant disaster did it for me. This pant was super long but I just wanted the bottom of the legs folded up and simply sewn in the current style of the large over folded style popular today. I even folded the legs for them, just sew. Nope they cut off the legs of the Jean and sewed! No cuffs! RUINED jeans times two pairs! I was explicit in my instructions/desires multiple times. I, unfortunately, did not check them when I picked them up. But even then, nothing to do, the damage is done. Never ever to return. read more

I came to Golden Thread last month to get alterations on a pair of slacks, a satin skirt, and a tshirt. Each item was too large for me, and for the bottoms they were too loose around my waist. I dealt with the owner Irina, both when I came in for the alterations and when I came in to pick up the items! She is such a sweet lady, she really takes the time to correctly measure your items and explain how each one will look for the final product. Last October I was attending a charity event and needed a dress "reconfigured" they tucked here, pulled up there and hemmed the dress with my new shoes. The event was a complete success. Later on in the month of December a charity that I am involved with was being honored in California and I had the opportunity to wear the dress to an event at the Beverly Hills Hotel!!
