I had been wanting to try a Russian style manicure for a while after seeing how good they were online. It did take a while ~around 2.5 hours but I felt taken care of and well treated the entire time. I was able to make a same day appointment on a Friday in the evening and was treated with several types nice dark chocolates, tea, and white wine. I chose a blue gel from their choices and was not rushed to choose a color. They had a vacuum which collected dust when they were filing which I really appreciated and they were extremely detail oriented and fixed two nails of mine that were starting to break at the tips. Shop was kept very clean and orderly also. The service all was around $120 including tip. I work a food service job that really puts my nails to the test, so I may update this review if needed but so far they still look great. Yes it was expensive, but it was the best manicure I've ever had and I see myself returning when I feel the need to treat myself. I am in love with how they have held up, and I've received so many compliments on them so far. read more

The ladies who did my nails were so precise and skilled in the gel application, and the polish looked impeccable in the end. They also used a great electric tool for exfoliating my feet which is a game changer, instead of the usual soak. Their ambiance at the salon is also very relaxing and welcoming. Response to owner: she clearly cut me and is saying it was a hang nail. Regardless of whether it was a hang nail or not my ring finger was sore and raw for days. I also let her know that my finger hurts and she responded with "it's ok the pain will go away" I am not complaining about the chipping of the nail polish I get my nails done all the time and I know that regular polish does not last. I am complaining about how once I left the salon there were air bubbles on my nails due to the rushed job and not waiting fully for the first coat to dry. I have talked to someone and was told you guys would fix it, so waiting for that. Honestly this place is horrible now! I went to get a manicure on Wednesday the lady who did my nails cut my ring finger cuticle to the point I started bleeding and my finger was sore and raw for 3 days. My hangnails are worse than before and it's as if I never even got my nails done. Also their prices have gone up I paid 60 dollars for regular color and clean and it didn't even last me 3 days. On top of that the second I left the salon my manicure was bubbly due to her not waiting fully for the polish to dry before she applied the second coat. I tried texting and calling to come in for them to fix it and I have been ignored. For months I couldn't find a Russian manicure in the Bay Area. Found a couple places and then randomly found Vale. The biggest difference is how meticulous they are about cuticles and dead skin. The manicure itself lasts forever but I am one of those people who don't like seeing my manicures grown out. So I still get my nails done every 2 weeks - but the color is still in great shape. The pedicures?! - they use machinery. Your dry ass heels will thank you. It takes a lot longer, but if you're a mom just bring your earbuds and watch your favorite shows for some quality mom time. I found this place during my Yelp search for a decent salon in the Belmont/Redwood City Area. I called the day before for an appt and they were able to accommodate. The nail salon does have its own parking lot which is helpful. It looks like a new salon with nice decor and was clean. The pedicure chairs were big comfy lazyboys that do massage which was nice. My friend and I were asked if we wanted anything to drink (water/wine) which came with some chocolates. I received a very thorough pedicure with gel nail polish which took 1.45 hr so give yourself time. The only thing that was missing was the leg/foot massage. I paid $115 (without tip)! I didn't expect the steep price and it would have just been absolutely perfect if a foot/leg massage was included. read more

Prices are not cheap here, but for the service and quality, I think it's worth it. The salon itself is very clean, modern, and bright. My favorite part of the overall experience is the coffee. They offer coffee, wine, and water with some chocolates and the coffee is actually really good haha. It's the little things!' Now for the manicures. If you have never had a Russian manicure (like myself), YOU MUST TRY. It is truly game changing. They focus on your cuticles and no soaking in acetone/etc. The result is a very clean looking, long lasting manicure that will give you compliments everywhere you go. I have now come in twice - I've booked with both Katya and Katerine. My first experience was a 3/5 with Katya. I found Vale on instagram and called to make an appointment and requested Katerine, and the lady on the phone told me "don't worry about that". Odd response, but I didn't mind at the time. Katya was a very sweet gal and did a great job with my cuticles. I asked for a natural ombre design - and 1.5 hours in, she started sponging white nail polish on pink nails, making the ombre look more like a "snowflake" (not natural or anything like the picture). When I communicated this to her, she went from saying she could do the picture to now telling me that she wouldn't be able to get it to look like that. It was a little frustrating, but in the end, I left with a pink chrome design and she did try to fix the issue as much as she could. I felt bad because it took 3-4 hours to get a look I didn't really want, but overall, I would book Katya if you have more simple/no design nails. I think the salon charges $10 less for anyone other than Katerine, so this would be a good deal! My second time in was with Katerine. I showed her the same photo and she told me she could get it exactly that way. She did it within 2 hours, and I am happy with the final result. You can see the photos for the retention as well - it's now been over a month and all my nails are still on, none are broken. The only downside was that this cost me $110+tip. Again, not cheap, but here the quality was worth it. Overall, I plan on returning to this salon and making it my main nail place to go to! I'm not a huge design/art deco nail girl so I plan on keeping it simple to take advantage of their amazing manicure services, which I think is their forte. For $80+tip, it's something I'd be willing to splurge on once a month. read more

I have been coming to this establishment since their grand opening in 2023. What started out as amazing service of manicures and pedicures has slowly turned into poor/subpar service. To charge about $100 for a manicure and even more for a pedicure and receive such poor service is infuriating. The last couple of months I've had to return numerous times after a service to have either a chip nail fixed or uneven bumpy application of nail polish- and of recent recently a shellac manicure lift after one day. They rarely pick up the phone when you call, and when you text the business number (as they highly suggest) they don't answer and are often left on "read" which makes scheduling or changing an appointment extremely hard. I've also have had issues with pricing in the past, where I would schedule a shellac manicure and charged a poly gel manicure which is much more. This has happened to me twice. When I made an attempt to reach out to Marina the owner (as suggested by the receptionist) via Instagram to speak on my experience, again no response and left on "read" but I still continued to schedule my nails services here until this week my $100 shellac manicure once again started to lifting after 3 days. When I came in to have it fixed was met by a very rude and cold Katya (manicurist). If they think this is how you run a business, I do not see this establishment lasting very long. I've spent close to $2000 in services at Vale Nails just this year, but will be taking my money elsewhere. read more

I got a gel Russian manicure and pedicure August 26th and by August 28th they were peeling. When I called, the woman I spoke to seemed surprised that the nails were peeling. She was able to get me in the next day and Aika fixed six of my peeling nails. She assured me they would be fine. It's been 10 days and my nails are already peeling. I'm a nurse so I use my hands a lot. But I've never had a manicure deteriorate this quickly. For the price I paid, they should have lasted three weeks. I'm beyond disappointed. read more

I went here by searching "nail salon near me". Made an appointment, made the mistake of not asking how much it would be. When I got there, I thought the chairs were set up weird, they were up on a different level than the floor, and I have very long legs, and my feet didn't really reach into the small tub for my feet. It turns out they really weren't going to soak my feet, just a quick rinse. That was disappointing, I enjoy the soak. Their choice of colors was limited, so I could not get the type of color I want which is a little sparkly wine color. I've always been able to get that elsewhere so already twice disappointed. Then during the pedicure itself, we are so far higher than the person doing the pedicure that they kept needing me to be in a certain position that hurt my back for them to be able to see my toes and do their work. I told them it was uncomfortable, they couldn't really fix it, so I am thinking I will never come back here again, because I come to a pedicure to be treated, not to leave with my back hurting. Then I go to pay, and the lady told me it's $100!!! This is more than twice as I pay in other places where I leave happy. I told her that I have never paid that much for it, and she said that is their price, and I told her if it's going to be something that is twice as much as elsewhere, they need to tell people that it's a special pedicure that costs more. She says they use special products, and she thought I would have looked on their website, I explained how I found them. She ended up giving me a 30% discount because I was so mad. I was still unhappy to pay $70 to leave feeling worse than I arrived. My back truly hurt for the rest of the day. I just looked on their website to see if it really lists $100 for a pedicure, and it does not!! (it lists $75 which is high, but definitely not $100, so her 30% "discount" was just getting me to their regular high price after giving me an inflated original price) So was she just being dishonest by overcharging me because I didn't ask how much it was beforehand? Wow. Zero transparency, and it felt like they were dishonest, and trying to take advantage of people. Will never go back, you shouldn't either. This isn't the way to run a business. List your prices in store before people get stuck paying a high cost to leave unhappy. read more
