BEST FACIAL OF MY LIFE I've become a facial addict thanks to Chini. Yes, an addict. But I've reframed from going in for facials more than once a month, as recommended by Chini. She'll give you honest recommendations to address your skin care concerns and tailor the facial to best fit your skin care needs. How can you not be addicted when you know that right when you lay down and your head hits the soft pillowy cushion, your skin is going to be transformed within the next 1-2 hours into something magnificent. Using only high quality Korean skin care products, Chini carefully applies product upon product alternating between warm and cold applications to ensure maximum absorption. The touch of her hands is soothing and her massages from face to neck, shoulder and upper back are so relaxing that you will fall into a deep sleep as I have each time. I've never wanted a female to touch me more than her!! My skin comes out looking radiant by the end of the facial and I always walk out with my head held high, glowing from head to toe, thanks to Chini! But don't take my word for it, book a facial with Chini, and find out for yourself! read more

If you're looking for perfect lashes and the most relaxing facial ever, Chini is your gal! I have had my lashes done by Chini over the years and she is truly the best. She is so meticulous and really cares about the quality of her work. I have always been so thrilled with how my lashes look. I get my lashes done sporadically and so I am always very pleased that Chini's work leaves my natural lashes healthy and in tact. She's truly an expert in her field! Chini took a break during Covid and I'm so thrilled that she's back in business! In addition to lashes, Chini is now offering facials. I had the opportunity to receive one from her this week and it was incredible!!! Chini's healing touch put me in a state of total bliss and relaxation. I can't wait to return to see her for another one next month! My skin feels so soft and refreshed and I feel so rejuvenated from her magical touch! Chini's caring energy and professional expertise make her outstanding in her industry. I feel lucky to be one of her clients! read more

Almost four years with Chini. I can actually say I still love her work. No one can replace her. I've tried many places in the past, all over the Bay Area and no one is better than Chini. I see her every two weeks Her working area is very very clean. There's plenty of parking and safe. read more

I've been getting lash extensions from Chini every 3 weeks for over a year now! She's always very sweet and nice and accommodating. I am really picky so I like that Chini is very detailed and flawless with her application and has a gentle touch. I have crazy, unruly eyelashes! Some are super curly and they go in different directions! But she always glues the extensions perfectly so that they all curl and lay the same way....super talented! I've referred 2-3 of my friends and have gotten countless compliments. I like a more natural look so she has used shorter extensions, which still are noticable but don't look like a drag queen. It's totally worth the money. I never wear mascara or eyeliner so I don't have to rub the crap out of my lashes trying to get liner and mascara off every night. It also takes me a lot less time getting ready in the morning. Without makeup, my eyes still look pretty & girly with the thicker & darker lashline and lashes. She's cheaper than others out there and better so go ahead and do your research but you'll see. read more

If you care about having healthy lashes and being able to maintain extensions forever, you must book with Chini! I have had lash extensions for more than 15 years. In those 15 years, I have had 2 stylists in Las Vegas, 1 in San Francisco, 1 in Belmont and Chini. I've been with her for more than 7 years. Before seeing her, a lash stylist told me I might have to take a break from extensions. I've never had to because Chini takes care of making my lashes beautiful but also ensures nothing is damaged! My lashes are full, classic and natural looking (but beautiful). Chini is meticulous, she never leaves an extra spot of glue, nothing is clumped and her work is perfect. I get countless compliments, but also lashes is how I keep a low-maintenance lifestyle day-to-day - I don't wear any eye-makeup, just put on some foundation and am out the door. Chini took a little break from doing lashes during covid, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows that they will not be disappointed in her work-product, she will make you feel glamorous and vibrant in an hour's time!!!!! She's worth every penny. read more

5 stars for Chini! This lady is so sweet, so soft spoken, and so talented. I am very sensitive to eyelash glue, and I always had difficulty with eyelash extensions. China puts the silk extensions little further away from the eyes, so I do not have any issues anymore. I visit her every other week and enjoy beautiful eyelashes with minimal upkeep. read more

I'm a nurse and I've been a client of Chini's for years. I recently went to see Chini after being without my beautiful lashes for months! Chini went above and beyond to comply with new requirements needed for reopening per covid protocol. She already practices great hand hygiene and also on top of that she made sure that I felt safe and all proper precautions taken to ensure safe beauty regimen is perform. If you have fears about getting your lashes because of covid, I highly advise you to give Chini a chance to give you beautiful lashes while at the same time knowing you and her are doing everything required to stay safe and healthy. During these scary times it's great comfort knowing you can trust Chini to keep you gorgeous and having your health in mind. read more

I found this place through Yelp, and gave it a try. I made sure I read every single review before picking this place, since extensions are always expensive! Chini was so welcoming from the moment I walked in. She made sure she explained what she did and her style of extensions were, and made sure I was comfortable enough to want to continue with her before she got started. I closed my eyes, woke up a bit more than an hour later, and BAM. Lash Goodness. Couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you so so much! Definitely will be back. read more

First off, thanks for moving back to NorCal, Chini. She did an awesome job with my lashes and when I was ready for a refill, she moved to SoCal. Not a cool move, but I forgive her since she returned. I went to other places, but I wasn't as satisfied since Chini set a higher standard with her results against other competitors. I have the typical sparse, short Asian lashes; in addition, some of my lashes grow in odd directions and my eyes aren't quite symmetrical due to the scar from my post surgical cyst removal years ago on one of my upper lids. I like my lashes to look natural yet noticeably full, thick, and long. After she assessed the challenges my eyes bring forth (again), she made few suggestions and after I woke up from the completion of her work, I LOVE MY LASHES even more this time around. I couldn't stop admiring how beautiful and natural my eyes look in the mirror and how jealous I would be if I were other girls looking at my eyes. I even got a little extra attention from my husband *wink *wink. I would say my new lashes will contribute to my baby-making tactic =-) As usual, she provided the tool and upkeep instructions so it will last longer and mine lasted about 3 weeks with only a few lashes falling here and there. I am more than satisfied with her work and will definitely return continuously. Service - Exceptional Length of process - not long at all, but I'm definitely gifted to fall asleep easily Talkability - well rounded and easy going conversation, but she knows when I'm about to doze off Price - affordable and will aggressively take advantage of any coupon available Ambiance - din lit and spa-like Tip - I might bring an ear plug next time so I won't hear her belly growl. read more

Chini is absolutely ... AMAZING!!! TIPS for active folks: get your hot yoga, cardio or any other high intensity workouts out of the way before coming in. Shower and perform your face exfoliation regimen the morning of as well. You can't get your lashes wet for 24 hours; I usually wait 48. Yeah, gross, I know, but it helps the lashes last longer! You can still clean yourself lol, but I wouldn't recommend hopping in a shower and def avoid humid places (i.e. saunas) for the first 24 hrs. I usually come in early in the week; that way I can get a good workout or two in before getting dolled up over the weekend. That also allows the ability to put on mascara thereafter without damaging them too much. Enjoy! The first time I ever had my lashes done was in downtown San Carlos. The heavy lashes hurt and the woman burned the heck out of my eyes with the glue. I vowed never to get them done again! But then, after helping a friend through some hard times, she got me a Groupon for Chini's services. I had my doubts walking in due to my previous experience. However, Chini greeted me with a big smile and offered me tea before getting started, which soothed my nerves. Please note that her spot if upstairs inside a large salon. If her door is closed, she's finishing up another client and will come out to get you. By the way, not only is she stunningly pretty but her soothing voice and modest disposition made the welcome all the more alluring! Anyway, Chini explained the different types of lashes and the expectations I should have. Proper care is KEY!!! I definitely recommend the mink silk set. They look natural and don't feel heavy at all. If you need them to be more dramatic, just apply with mascara and remove gently with eye makeup remover oil. Chini's hands are so delicate, I can barely feel her working! So, FIVE stars for this superstar. She's pricier than some other spots but worth every penny. She works hard and is easy to talk to. She's like a therapist to me now and I always look fw to my visits with her. Plus, you look FAB after each session, without ANY pain!!! Go here! read more

Chini is the best. Thanks to her my lashes is so nice. She takes time to do my lashes and she is really nice and friendly. She keeps you company while your in there for 1 hr or more. She will not break your real lashes like the other people. I highly recommended you guys to see her. read more

I've had my eyelashes done at different places before and Chini is the best for me. I tried the famous Long Mi lashes from LA for a couple months but they break your bank and take your natural lashes with them! I've also had a bad job done before in another place where they glued my eyelashes together and had to have it removed after a week (that's how I found Chini when I was frantically looking for another place!!) and she saved my lashes by removing them ASAP and the breakage wasn't too bad. I'm really picky and OCD about my eyelashes now but Chini does such a great job she's got me addicted to these extensions. The long mi lashes did look nice and natural but for how much they cost and considering the damage it did to my natural lashes (it was so sparse when I take them off) I didn't think it would be worth it as a long term thing. I've had two different sets done with Chini now, first the Silk and currently wearing the Silk Mink. Both look great but I can really feel the weight difference on my eyes!!! I am so in love with the Silk Mink, I barely notice it's on because I don't feel a thing. It's THAT feather light. The technique that Chini applies the extensions with makes it so that the extensions fall off without taking your natural lashes with them (with the minor few where your lashes are due to fall out anyways) and this is so *crucial* because that is so not the case with many eyelash extension techs who are not skilled! You do not want sparse and bald lashes after wearing extensions. You should also know that with eyelash extensions you get what you pay for. If you find a place that's really cheap for a full set.. Just beware it's cheap for a reason. And if they don't take at least 1.5-2+ hours to do a full set, they probably glued your eyelashes together aka eyelash nightmare. So be a well informed customer and do your research beforehand; don't be afraid to ask your eyelash tech lots of questions, ask for sample pictures or styles from previous clients, or name your concerns the first time you get a set! I asked Chini like a million questions and concerns and she was so patient with me and everything turned out well that now I know for sure what I can expect and there's no surprises. I find that her pricing is reasonable as well for the work that she does. I like my lashes to look more natural too so this second set is absolutely perfect for me. I'm traveling for the summer soon and I'll be gone for a month so I'm actually really sad I can't touch them up but I'm definitely coming back for another set when I'm back. Also from the first set I found out that I'm a bit allergic to the eyelash glue but the redness goes away after two days and it doesn't bother me that much. Chini suggested I take an antihistamine before coming in as it helps to take the redness away faster so if you're allergic like me or you know you have sensitive eyes, pop a Claritin or something before your appointment! read more

iCute iLashes & Spa - My gorgeous lashes by Chini!! - Eyelash Service Near Me - San Mateo, California

I've been to several places for lashes and have to say that Chini is the best! Like other reviewers are saying she is an artist. She really pays a lot of attention to the shape of the eyes in relation to the whole face/hair and the difference of how lashes naturally grow from the inner to the outer part of the eye. Chini is a very detailed person which is a good thing as she strives to meet expectations. She asks questions on what look you are going for (i.e. Dramatic, natural, thick, etc.). So have an idea what you want because I'm sure everyone says I just want it to look natural. Either way I'm sure it will come out looking great as I'm very pleased with her work. I got mink lashes which are pricey but the best since it does not feel heavy and you forget you have them on. People who see me a lot know that I had extensions added but do say it looks good and not overdone on me. These lashes last about 2 weeks maybe could go another week you just have to be very disciplined to not touch it and sleep on your back. Yes, I sleep on my side and noticed the sides going first as Chini had warned me before leaving her office. I was thinking to take off 1 star since I waited 20mins to be seen but think she could be forgiven this one time since the quality of her work makes up for it. It also helps that she is a nice gal. read more

Two years later and I'm still seeing Chini regularly every 3 weeks for my lash fill. She's the only one who I trust to do my lashes. They look so full and natural every time I get them done. Chini customizes every clients lashes to perfectly enhance their eyes. No cheap plastic looking lash extensions here! She uses only the best materials and ensure you walk out happy and satisfied. Funny, the first time I saw Chini was because I was going to Maui for a friend's wedding and didn't want to worry about mascara raccoon eyes (hello humidity!). Now I'm getting married next month and I can't wait until Chini works her magic on my lashes for the big day! read more

I discovered iCute Lashes through Groupon and I liked my lashes so much, I have decided that I will be getting touch-ups regularly now! The first time I arrived, I was surprised at the size of the salon - it's larger than your average salon, with quite a few stations and treatment areas. The receptionist will direct you to go upstairs (located at the back), where you can wait on a comfy couch. There is also tea/water available. Then, Chini, the super talented and friendly lash artist, will greet you and lead you down a long hallway to her peaceful treatment room. Chini will talk to you about what type of style/effect you want. I told her I wanted my lashes to look a little glam (so it was noticeable), but long lasting and I didn't want to look like a street walker, haha! We decided that silk lashes - which are lighter than faux mink lashes - would be best for my needs. I let Chini decide on length & weight; she is a MASTER of her craft and knows what is best for each client! The last time I had lash extensions was 7 years ago, and this experience with Chini was SO MUCH BETTER! No tape was used...instead, Chini uses cool collagen pads under your eyes (feels like cucumber slices). I felt relaxed, as if I was at a spa! I could have fallen asleep during the whole process (about 2 hours). The result? I LOVED it! The lashes were noticeable, but looked very natural at the same time. In fact, I stopped wearing top eyeliner on my lid because the lash extensions give that same effect - it really opens up your eyes! Judging from the results and my experience with Chini, I could tell she is really detail-oriented with her work! I went back to Chini 4 weeks later for a touch-up and she was impressed that a lot of my lashes were still intact. I made it a point to not rub my eyes at all and not use any oil-based makeup on my top lid, so I believe that helped! My sister loved the look of my lashes so much, she also went to Chini and asked for the similar style/effect. Since my sister's lashes are a lot different than mine, some of her lash extensions had less staying power, but Chini quickly remedied that issue by spending an EXTRA session with her the next day! What EXCELLENT customer service!!! Thank you, Chini! read more

I wish I could leave more star as Chini deserves more. She's fantastic!! If you're thinking about eyelash extensions, you should go see Chini. She is very professional, kind, knowledgeable and very patient. I went to see Chini for a lash refresh, but the place I got my first lash extensions (Yweight) did a horrible job. There is glue on my eyelids; the girl clumped the lashes together with too much glue. It was so bad the only option I had to save my eyelashes was to have them removed. I was very nervous bout this procedure, but Chini is such a master at her craft I didn't even notice when she was done. I highly recommend Chini for eyelash extensions. Her office if very nice, clean and quiet and I can't say enough nice things about iCute iLash with Chini. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been going to Chini for a couple of years, and she always does an amazing job on my eyelashes. Her office is clean, cozy and she sterilizes her tools after every use. Chini is professional, sweet, and meticulous. It was my first time ever getting lash extensions, so of course I yelped vigorously before booking the appt after years of pondering the idea. When I saw the results, I couldn't have been happier with my choice!! Not only is Chini sweet, courteous and just all around fantastic, but she has the fine tuned skill sets first and foremost. Several close friends of mine have amazing lashes and actually encouraged me to do mine after years of admiring theirs! They all referred me to their technicians before I found Chini but after they saw mine, each of those girlfriends have said my lashes are even more amazing than there's, and theirs are great!!! Some of my girlfriends even want to switch to Chini after YEARS of dedication to their technicians AND 3 of my coworkers are now chinis as new clients!! SO. what I'm saying is that any female reading this KNOWS exactly what The implications are: #LashGameOnPoint. The last point I'll leave you with: Trust me when I say I'm the type of customer that service provides sometimes fear and or hate. But those are the idiot incompetent people who deserve a slice of reality.. Just saying. With that in mind, if Chini isn't doing my lashes, no one is. The end. read more

THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Chini is not only an amazing eyelash artist, making sure to take each client's facial features in mind, but she is also incredibly meticulous, always making sure your eyelashes look balanced and enhanced, but never overly fake or reminiscent of a drag queen. I have visited other places before I moved back to the bay area, but by far Chini does the best job of any aesthetician I have gone to. Next to clear skin and well-groomed eyebrows, eyelash extensions are my favorite face essentials! Chini knows her process and listens to what you want (or makes recommendations based on skin type, lash type, and what look you're trying to achieve). I've been to 3 of the best rated lash specialists in the area and Chini is definitely my favorite. Her incredibly sweet personality is a huge plus, she is so fun & easy to talk to. She gave me info on lash thickness/length that was TOTALLY new to me. The other technicians never explained this. I now understand why my lashes should be a certain length & trust her to make that choice for the health of my lashes. Her glue/application technique is top notch. One technician I went to had a great personality but her application of the glue was clumpy and I ended up with really sparse, tiny lashes. The other technician had great glue technique but it seemed like it didn't last as long (and she isn't very personable, while Chini totally is). Plus, Chini is just slightly more affordable for some reason. For these reasons put together, she's my top pick. read more

I've been seeing Chini for almost 2 years now (this review is long overdue) and am so grateful to have found her. Not only did Chini nurse my lashes back to health she helped me find the right length and style for me for longevity and health of my lashes. She also gave me a ton of helpful tips to help keep the lash extensions healthy between visits. Chini is highly skilled, prompt, and has a fantastic table-side manner.
