The shop is small but cute, and lots of funny decorations. Hair grows back, but it's frustrating to pay for a service and only see/realize after that it wasn't what I asked for - if you forget, why not ask mid-service? Ive gone here a few times for a Brazilian and an eyebrow waxing. Anna does an amazing job every time. She's friendly and she works quickly but carefully, making sure to get every single hair. She always has music playing in the background and offers conversation to distract from the pain lol. After the brazilian wax, she applies oil to the front area and powder to the back, and then a cold towel which feels SO relieving. I was new to waxing when I first started seeing Anna, and she has been honest with me about every question I've asked. I'm usually extremely self conscious, but I am very comfortable with her because I can tell that she's focused on doing her job well and is not judging my body at all. I've always had problem skin, so I've had a lot of facials, but Anna gives the best ones. She's not shy about doing extractions, but they are always minimally painful. My skin gets red and irritated really easily, but somehow when I leave my face doesn't even had a mark. I go in with dull, congested skin and without fail my skin is glowing two days later. She's easy to talk to, doesn't push products on you, and her prices are EXTREMELY fair. 10/10 recommend. read more

I've gotten waxed in three different states. Sad, happy and....hahahaha. No, but really. I've been waxed in Texas, New Mexico and California. My eyebrows are all dark and thick and like man hair. So sexy. Waxing often leads my skin to bleed or burn. This doesn't happen at Skin Utopia. Anna is always quick but gentle. You always feel like a friend and not just a client. I tried Anna's European facial for the first time. The facial left me with a healthy glow and minimal red marks. Anna is very knowledgeable and helpful. I also was happy that Anna did not pressure me to buy her skin products or to come in for a facial frequently. She understands that a facial is an expensive luxury. I only give 3 stars since it is still expensive for me as a college student and I sampled one of her moisturizers that didn't seem to do much for my skin. It was quick and simple to get an appointment and the appointment started on time. The location is small, but very clean and there was ample parking. Anna was very quick but also efficient and although waxing generally sucks, this wasn't bad. This is how facials and microdermibrasion should be! I bought a Living Social deal for a microderm. I've been finding that some businesses that offer groupon or living social don't treat you well as they should. My theory is they a) already have your money and b) don't think you'll be a repeat customer. If their customer service was outstanding, I might just be a repeat customer! Anna has great customer service. She was running a bit late and called to let me know. I was already driving to her place but when I got there, it wasn't a surprise that she was running so I entertained myself. Anna started with a consultation and told me what she would do based on what I told her. I appreciated that she really seemed to listen. She then went into a wonderful facial. It was special because it was more than just putting on products. She really massages your face. She also said that people only need to come in 3-4 times per year for a facial which was nice to hear. Anna was very thorough about extractions. The two other places where I did microderm did not really do extractions. I found her to be very conscientious about her work. The microderm itself was also great. Unfortunately for me, in 5 weeks, I had four sessions which turned out to be a little more than my skin could handle (Julian from Julian's Skin care told me to do weekly sessions for 6-8 weeks... so glad I didn't listen to that advice). My skin is pealing a bit but it's not from anything Anna did. She's moving to a new location in Burlingame and she said her prices will come down. There are no words to describe Anna's talents with a waxing strip. I was TERRIFIED of getting a brazilian. Terrified. I was convinced that Anna was the master. Being, um, very Mediterranean, I still wasn't sure. I went to Anna a few days before my wedding and I was amazed. She was done in 15 minutes at the most, and it hurt no more than a regular bikini wax. I swear! Now, I make it my every 5 week appointment and I could not be happier.
