Perfect brunch spot! I met up for a few girlfriends for brunch here and we had a great time. They have a bottomless brunch deal for $44 which includes 1 brunch entree and unlimited brunch cocktails for 90 minutes. It's not clearly noted on the menu what's a brunch entree but I was told you could get anything on the menu that wasn't a shared plate and anything additional would be an up charge. Pretty solid deal. Let's start with the food. I had the Avo Toast with a side of bacon. Whenever ordering avocado toast I'm always worried if it'll be enough or if I need to order something extra. This was plenty! It's one slide of toast but it's a pretty nice thick piece of multigrain rye bread topped off with avocado, cherry tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, queso fresco and a sunny side up egg. It also came with a side of home fries. Nice, thick and well seasoned potatoes. One of the best avocado toasts I've had in the city! The bacon was a thick cut and good. We also shared the doughnuts and they were amazing! Definitely use that sauce that comes with them. Now for drinks, I love a brunch with plenty of options. You could select between mimosas (classic, passion fruit or guava), michelada, Bloody Mary, espresso martini, white sangria and Vagabond punch. The mimosas were great. I enjoyed both the passion fruit and guava. The vagabond punch was pretty good. It reminded me of a rum punch. Service was solid. Our server gave us some advice on the entrees and kept the mimosas flowing. The inside was nice. It was pretty busy but it never felt like it was too loud or too crowded. BUT, you could simply go buy a bottle of champagne and get the same drunk so probably less the price. It's more about experience. Why not amplify that with the two things God gifted us, vodka and caffeine. - there's a total California aesthetic (I'm not just saying that a cringe past CA resident way) the whole restaurant is beach themed, and the drinks are named after surf destinations. it has a very clean, light, and bright interior, wish it was warm enough to test out the roooooftop - the espresso martinis were delicious, they use real cold brew in the bev so it's not just the flavor of coffee. the mimosas (not self pour) came in multiple flavors and were STRONG - as for the food the menu is quite simple. the donuts were delicious and clearly baked on site. super flaky and warm. - the Portuguese baked eggs were a little plain for my liking. I love the amount of onions and other vegetables in the stew, however, I wish the dish had a lick or a little something different like a feta cheese to break up the low-key marinara vibe. read more

My boyfriend added Vagabond to our bucket list a month ago and it was finally time to check it out. We walked in (without reservations) and ended up sitting at the bar. We were greeted by the bartender and immediately selected the bottomless brunch option. For $44, you will leave extremely satisfied. The food servings were HUGE! We tried a couple of different drinks on the menu and they were all really good. There's tons of seating indoors, plus a patio outside. Lovely experience all around. Food- we got yucca fries and tempura to start. Both were tasty. Then we had the halibut, chicken, and fried rice for entrees. All were a good portion size and well seasoned. Drinks- we all got wine. Nice varietals and cute glasses. We showed up during peak dinner time on Saturday. As a result, the only seats they had were on the roof, which we accepted. It was a bit cold, but with jackets and a heater on, it was definitely manageable. The food was quite good. The quesabirria tacos are rich and delicious; my only gripe is that it's just two tacos, each of which is on the small side. I ordered the Portuguese seafood stew. It was spicier than I expected but very flavorful. And, it came with a nice warming bowl of rice and a hefty chunk of crusty bread. Four stars specifically for the fact that the bottomless drinks include more than just mimosas (rum punch, sangria, expresso martinis!!), Oh and 4 stars for the vibes and decor. The food is your average breakfast food, nothing to write home about. The sliders rise above the rest, but are small and not a full meal. If they could make that a full burger with fries I would cry tears of joy. I like the rum punch and expresso martinis. My friends have enjoyed the white sangria and mimosas (several flavors). I don't like sparking wine, so I'm grateful for a bottomless drink brunch that includes more than just mimosas. The staff are quick and nice. Reservation def required. Tho if you're a party of 2 you might be able to get away with no reservation if you're cool sitting at the bar. We showed up 11am on a Saturday with no reservation and the bar had about 6 seats available. The other 2 times I've been, I made a reservation. Street parking, but just have a little patience and speak that close parking spot into existence! Again, go for the vibes and the wide variety of bottomless drinks. I have walked pass Vagabond many times, hearing their great music coming from the upstairs bar and after checking out their menu, I decided to stop in. It was soon after they had opened that I decided to head in for happy hour. I liked the nautical theme and they had a lot of seating options. I was greeted by the staff and the bartender was sweet but almost seemed annoyed that I was there... perhaps because they had just opened. She was attentive nonetheless. For drinks I had the white sangria. It was okay but reminded me a lot of a premade bottled sangria I've had before. So I decided to try the Nazaré which I really enjoyed. It was refreshing and spicy but not too spicy! For food I tried the Skillet Esquites which I enjoyed, it was very creamy but I enjoyed the flavors. The Yucca fries were good but my favorite was the King's sliders. Cooked perfectly and I appreciated that there were not too many toppings and sauces. 4.5 stars! Came to Vagabond on Saturday for brunch and had such a lovely time! They have an amazing brunch deal: $40 for bottomless including an entrée. Usually anywhere with such a good deal is mediocre but the food and drinks were great! I started with a coffee which was perfectly good and then moved onto the punch that was apart of the bottomless deal -- delicious! You can mix and match any of their brunch drinks so my table had a mix of the punch, mimosas, and espresso martinis. All great. The food was super super delicious. I got the poke bowl which was so good. I wish there was a little more tuna but the bowl was a great size and super filling. The pancakes looked INCREDIBLE so I'll have to come back to give them a try. My whole table enjoyed their meal. For dessert we each had a Portugués cream/egg tart which was such a delicious bite and fab end to the meal. Other highlights is the decor is bright and beachy and the music is awesome. It's the perfect spot for brunch with friends. Our server was friendly and as brunch went on would refill us without us even having to ask for new drinks, which is always a win. Since Vagabond is fairly new my advice to them would be to add more servers for brunch. Our server was taking care of a really large party (~10 people) in addition to other tables in their section including ours. I think there were only 2 servers and each was tending to a huge party. As a result we waited 15-20 minutes before being able to grab their attention and rushed to order knowing we might not get to grab them again. Kudos to our server for managing so many tables at once! My bf and I were killing time before our trip back to NYC and he had really wanted to get pancakes, so I'm trolling around Reddit to find the best pancakes in DC for the man. It leads us to the vagabond. The ambiance at the restaurant is a beachy vibe - this place seems more fit to be in San Diego than DC. The waitstaff was very slow - somehow people that sat after us got their food before us - insane. I thought the food was just alright - nothing to write home about. My boyfriend did really enjoy the pancakes though, they were massive and extremely fluffy - he needed extra syrup they were so big. I went with the surfer's burrito which was just eggs, bacons, hashbrowns stuffed in a burrito and it came with home fries. It was just alright. My main complaint about DC in general is that the water there tastes like absolute garbage - it tastes like the pipes it goes through and I've gotten sick from drinking it before. Since I can't drink the water here, my bf and I both got juices. I wish everywhere would just give bottled water. read more

When it comes to a DC brunch that I would consider a great value, Vagabond is now up there with the likes of Shaw's Tavern. I personally did the bottomless with the breakfast burrito and left just under $55. I enjoy that I can mix and match the bottomless here so I started with the espresso martini but then stuck with the rum punch. The food was good and the space is nice, but it is quite small and it gets loud quickly. Reading the other reviews they still have some issues with staffing but my server was working very hard. Great place for Sunday brunch! Meet up with some of my DC friends while I was in town for work. They recommended Vagabond as it was fairly close to my hotel. Even though it has a gorgeous rooftop patio, we opted to sit inside due to the high heat (very cool surfer vibe going on in there). The menu has a number of interesting things from which to choose. Everyone got something different. I had the chilaquiles (pretty much breakfast nachos). Absolutely delicious and way too much to eat in one sitting. I stumbled upon Vagabond while walking around DC while my wife got a massage. Immediately upon walking into the building I felt a sense of calm and also noticed how clean and well maintained the restaurant was. I immediately took a seat at the bar stool next to the stairs and ordered a Vagabond punch. The bartender was friendly and got me my drink in under a minute. The octopus had good flavor but was a little on the chewy side. The tuna ceviche was all over the place with way too many flavors combining. I understand that eclectic fusion is part of the theme, but the flavors in the ceviche seemed to be more fighting each other than complementing. To top it off, the tuna had spent too much time in the marinade and had developed an off texture. The standout was the delicious halibut which was perfectly cooked and came with a crisp potato-leek pancake, and nice cilantro sauce. The yuca fries were decent with the sauce more creamy than spicy. Better were the vagabond chips, lightly fried with tzatziki dip. The happy hour specials included a $3 taco. Drinks: Padang Padang (strong) and especially the Wishing Wells drink were enjoyed. Overall our experience was meh. We went for brunch after seeing so many posts on instagram raving about the bottomless brunch and including espresso martinis as a drink option. I had the pancakes which was good, can't say anything bad about them. My friends had the Dawn patrol sandwich and one of the burritos. I think their food was also just okay. The espresso martini that they serve for brunch is not good, unless you enjoy bitters in yours (which I do not). Such a change from the old Rebellion, the space now features a bright white/teal color scheme and a surf theme. They have a long list of summery sounding cocktails, but we went with some beers - Maui Big Swell IPA in the can, and a Nicaraguan pilsner called Panga Drops. For food, the menu is pretty varied, so we sampled. It was a bit of a mixed bag. The grilled baby bok choy was spectacular. For a veggie side, this has amazing grilled flavor and tasted very elevated. The quesabirria beef tacos are very tasty, though a bit thin and less packed with goodness than you would get at many competitors, such as Xochi. The sliders are good, too, but the yuca fries are pretty bland. It is worth a visit if you're around. The space is really beautiful, and it looks like they are about to start offering happy hour every day. read more

The space is very beachy and modern, but there's fun music that turns it from relaxed to energetic. I loved the Pura Vida scramble at brunch (and the breakfast burrito looks great too), and at dinner I really enjoyed the chicken skewer plate with bok choy and Mediterranean salad.
