My husband and I purchased a pop-up camper (Aliner Expedition) from Vacationland RV last week and were very pleased with the overall educational and purchase experience. Joel showed us the workings of the camper, and Mike was awesome with providing us with the full tutorial. He also made sure our new SUV was properly hooked up to the camper and recommended the Curt Echo Controller (Bluetooth) to assist in braking, for which we were very thankful. The store inside offered all the RV accessories and gadgets one would need for camping, and their offerings of fun (dog-oriented!) tees, etc. was a total plus. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone looking to invest in an RV!

I purchased my travel trailer at vacationland today. I visited other dealers around the area, and these people are by far the nicest, friendliest, down to earth people I've encountered throughout my search. The sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The service staff are the same, and a joy to be around. The pricing is beyond competitive. I would be stupid to buy anywhere else! Their accessories were also priced to sell! I compared priced to amazon, and figured, why wait for Amazon when it's priced almost exactly the same here, and I can just take it home now! Thank you again for all your help in selecting my new travel trailer! I can't wait to see you again!

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Jayco and Rick's RV…read more I bought my Jayco camper brand new just a year ago, and it has now been sitting in Rick's RV's service department for over a month for warranty repairs I was told would take two weeks. During this entire time, I have received zero updates unless I call them myself. Meanwhile, I am still making payments on this camper and paying for storage I can't even use because my camper is stuck in their shop. This has completely ruined my family's summer camping plans, and it is beyond frustrating that a brand-new camper should need to be in service for over a month without clear updates. To make matters worse, Rick's RV told me I could come pick up the camper without a working stove (which is under warranty) so I could use it. How ridiculous is it to pay $27,000 for a camper only to be told I can take it without a fully functioning kitchen because Jayco and Rick's RV can't figure out whether to replace the stove? The lack of transparency, accountability, and customer service from both Jayco and Rick's RV is outrageous and should be a serious warning to anyone thinking about buying from either company. They have my money, but I don't have the working camper I paid for, and they don't seem to care how this impacts their customers. If you are considering purchasing a Jayco or working with Rick's RV, think twice. Their customer service ends the moment they get your money, and you will be stuck chasing them for updates while your plans and wallet suffer. I am posting this publicly because I want others to know exactly what kind of service they can expect.

Service caught a significant issue with the trailers 5th wheel mount and my F350 hitch. Needed a new part and the MANAGER jumped in a car to go get it 3 Hours away..... I CAREFULLY asked questions as we talked finance and walked away SEVERAL THOUSAND UNDER MY BUDGET after including SEVERAL extended warranties.... Financed some just because and there is NO penalty to pay it off in four months on a 48 month term I chose. (If you dont understand the finance terms ASK.... I stopped them early on as should any SMART shopper.) The acceptance walk thru with the tech revealed the need for additional waste line parts.... They handed them to me with the purchase kit.... $ 70.00 + saved. The new vehicle kit is a very nice touch..... was ready to purchase separately but everything you need is provided... (see previous comment) Ok.... I purchased several optional packages which you really dont need. I made a passing remark as I did the acceptance walk thru on one I regretted agreeing to.... MOMENTS after finishing the acceptance walk the ALWAYS HAPPY/BUBBLY Kathtyn walks up and hands me a piece of paper CANCELING the package and says, "Service Tech mentioned you did not want... here's the change." That was AMAZING... I highly recommend using Braidwood Camping World... EXTREMELY Friendly staff... Stands behind the product and fixes it right.... Very happy....

Here were the top annoyances: Air Conditioning - Broke completely in the middle of our July trip, the mechanic said it was quite old and missing some screws. It wasn't possible to fix on the road, so we had no AC for 4 days. Sensors - Many of the key sensors were inaccurate. Ex: black tank level, water level. This proved very challenging for first time RVers like us, who didn't have a feel for how often to empty or refill tanks. Door - The screen door was missing a piece of plastic, which created a hole for bugs to come in and the door itself required a VERY hard closure to latch. My kids could rarely do it themselves. Awning - Not functional; directions in troubleshooting book didn't match type of awning on our RV. Generator - Shut off inexplicably a few times. Mattress - VERY old and worn. Electrical panel - Literally kept closed with duct tape and wouldn't stay closed. Easy to accidentally turn things off. Privacy curtain - Held back with duct tape. Easily knocked open.

I can however say that I was impressed by the upper leadership at camping world . Immediately upon posting the review I was contacted by leadership for details . I did NOT tell them that I was currently in negotiations with a different Camping World location. I was NOT trying to play the "leverage game" and wanted the results to be the result of good (or bad) business practices. It wasn't 24 hours later before I was contacted , apologized to, and informed everything was being "made right". Camping World (as large as they are) still cares about business. I can appreciate that. I do appreciate that. I have since completed the purchase of a new RV and cannot wait to get out on the road this spring . Reviews are like opinions - take them with a Grain of salt (whatever that means). They are an individuals perception of a specific happening at a specific moment. My experience went from positive to negative by the actions and decisions of one individual. Don't let one bad apple ruin your banana split! Thank you Camp World for being professional, caring for the concern of your customers. Looking forward to future dealings and a long relationship Original review: I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Camping World in Wauconda, IL, and I feel compelled to share it as a warning to others. From the moment I walked in, the sales tactics were pushy, aggressive, and entirely focused on closing the deal rather than addressing my needs or ensuring my safety. Despite my lack of experience towing anything longer than 14 feet, they convinced me that towing a trailer over 38 feet long would be "simple" and assured me that "with the double axle design, you won't even know it's there." This was irresponsible advice, especially since I didn't even own a vehicle capable of towing the trailer's UVW of 9,000 pounds. The misinformation didn't stop there. I was told the RV "already had solar" because it had an inverter preinstalled. In reality, the unit was only "prepped for solar" and did not have any panels installed. Additionally, the sales team inaccurately claimed that the heat was "all electric" and not propane-based. It became clear they were simply telling me what they thought I wanted to hear, regardless of whether it was true. This lack of honesty and transparency made me feel misled and manipulated throughout the process. The most frustrating part of my experience came when I placed a deposit to "lock in the price", since the price was "accidently posted way below originally intended". I was assured that the deposit would be refunded if we didn't finalize the purchase. However, after deciding not to proceed with the purchase at this location, things quickly deteriorated. I was initially told that the financial department was closed over the weekend and my refund would be processed on Monday. When Monday came and went without any communication, I followed up only to be rudely informed that they were keeping my deposit for "work done"--despite no work actually being performed on the RV. The lack of professionalism and accountability from Camping World was shocking. Phone calls went unanswered, promises were broken, and I was left feeling disrespected and deceived. The staff showed no interest in resolving my concerns or taking responsibility for their actions. This level of customer service is unacceptable for any business, let alone one as large as Camping World. I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Camping World in Wauconda to think twice. Their high-pressure sales tactics, misleading information, lack of transparency regarding deposits, and overall poor customer service made for an awful experience. Save yourself the stress and frustration--look elsewhere for a dealership that values honesty, professionalism, and its customers.

Within three months, our RV suffered a broken axle--an issue fully covered under warranty. The failure occurred three hours from home, so I contacted Charles, our salesperson, expecting some guidance in arranging a tow to an authorized repair facility. His earlier assurance that "we will take care of you" if anything went wrong has proven remarkably hollow. Towing to an authorized dealer is prohibitively expensive, and we were essentially told we were on our own. One might reasonably assume the dealership could arrange transport to a Camping World location for warranty repair, yet that assistance was nowhere to be found. The situation appears to stem from a perfect storm of limited Good Sam insurance coverage, questionable build quality on a brand-new unit, and a salesperson whose interest evaporates the moment the sale is complete. Charles can talk a convincing game, but when it mattered, he dropped the ball entirely, leaving us to navigate the process without support. If you are considering Camping World, proceed with caution. Once the paperwork is signed, you should fully expect to become an afterthought.
