This was the worse nail experience ever. The nail tech (Hien Dang) rushed through the entire process without listening to what i wanted. I wanted thick french gel short coffin nails, she did them twice as thin as I usually get them, even when i pointed this out she argued they were thick enough. She accidentally spilled things twice on the desk out of haste, burned and hurt my nails a few times. She did a poor job shaping some of my nails, despite the fact that i kept asking her to adjust them. Zero attention to details, rough handling of my hands. The corners of my natural nails are exposed on a few fingers and the price was high for the quality. I'm never coming back here again. read more

I went and asked for a gel polish pedicure, and it went fine until the woman who started painting showed off the little skill she had. She painted over my cuticle and cut my actual skin-- It stung pretty bad. The color was fine, however I went home and exactly two hours later the gel polish was lifting and it peeled off four of my toes. Not great considering I spent 60 dollars-- The man who worked the front desk gave me a shockingly nasty look when I said I was not tipping for the poor job the woman did. read more

Went in for a fill , tech Hien Dang , was rude and her work is sloppy . Her station is not sanitary at all . I've never had a attack not wipe off the excess chrome before. read more

In the morning I did my nail make my appointment the day before and Va Nail charge me $70( online said $34) and other places I go before (for 6 years) with that much for manicure and pedicure . And my daughters both go after me(still give them a chance) and the bill her almost $80 just for manicure ( even crazier) and my other daughter same time bill $40 come home and next day the color nail is off from her nail. Mr. Owner how you gonna explain this? My daughter is so upset and surprised for the price. Unacceptable!!!! I want my moneyback at least half of you charge me and my daughters!! read more

Did not have an enjoyable experience here. I requested a SNS manicure and a regular pedicure with Tammy. There is polish all over my skin - I had to use nail polish remover when I got home to fix it (pics attached). The salon was not clean and the washcloth that she put my hands on during the manicure was damp (not sure from what but it was gross). The staff was friendly and there was a good amount of colors to choose from. I gasped when they told me the total - $93. Sooo overpriced for such a poor job. I tipped 20% and am out $113 now and my nails don't look good. The sns manicure looks better than the pedicure - some toe nails are darker than others, meaning that they have a different amount of coats. My cuticles hurt and there's a cut on my toe that is stinging. For some reason they only had the television on in Spanish, so didn't have much to look at. Will not be returning. I'm giving it 2 stars just because the staff was nice and brought around sodas/waters! Update: went in to speak to the manager Tom and he was extremely rude. I showed him the scabs around my nails, and the pictures of when my cuticles were cut. If I were a manager, I would offer a refund if one of my employees wounded a customer. My cuticles are red, inflamed and infected now. I walked out and will never return after such a rude conversation. read more

Ms. Lindsey always does a great job on my nails and is great! Everyone is so kind & the salon is always clean.

Literally only deserves 1 star. Pedicure I got 2 weeks ago was mediocre because my toenails are were uneven lengths and not worth the price. Then today I got my nail extensions taken off and the person who took it off had no regard for my well-being whatsoever. When clipping the acrylic extension off, she yanked it off my left pointer finger and I said "Ouch, please don't do that" since I could feel her tugging at my actual nail, not the extension. Instead of being gentle and clipping off the rest of my pointer finger nail, the lady cut off part of the other edge and pulled the middle part off that was STILL ON MY NAIL BED. I have been to SO many nail salons in my life, but I have never had this happen to me. I was in so much pain. When filing off the top layer with the electronic file, the lady went too close to my cuticle with the METAL cylinder attachment and scraped off a big chunk of my cuticle on my right pointer finger. She did NOT apologize and instead she told me to "Stop moving." Keep in mind, I was literally not moving my body because I was already scarred from her yanking my left nail off my finger. I would have left the salon at that moment but I still wanted the acrylic/gel removed. They charged me $11 for taking off the nail extensions, which is absolutely ridiculous. I left a tip because they're probably underpaid. Never going back to this salon again. read more

Horrible! I used to go here when they first opened and they did a decent job. I stopped going because there were declines in cleanliness and quality. I decided to give it a try again (after about a year) due to it being the closest salon to where I was. It was FILTHY. I normally get my nails done during the day, but I was here at closing time today. I Was able to see their closing procedures. A nail tech put on rubber gloves to match the used flip flops and sponge toe separators to RE-USE TOMORROW. who knows how old those things are. The area for the manicure was dirty...no technician cleaned their area before leaving for the night. The polish was not applied at the nail bed, giving the appearance that the manicure was already old. They also have a separate area for manicures when they are "busy." Today, this area was filled with trash bags filled with garbage, food and boxes. Of course these things were realized as services went on...had I noticed them right away I would have walked out. Once I noticed them, I refused added services that may bring more germs. In addition to this review, I plan to inform their regulatory board. read more

I don't even get my nails done that often anymore and thought that I'd treat me and my daughters to some self care. I used Google reviews instead of yelp that day.. bad choice. It was a Saturday, early afternoon and the man at the front desk said that it would only be about 15 min. Even though we all sat down 'together', both of my daughters had multiple nail techs sit then get up and leave them. Then they moved one of my daughters next to me who eventually started to cry because she felt like they didn't want her there. Not only that but the tech that was working on me was so rough I had to ask her to please be careful after she nicked my cuticle. On top of that she overall seemed upset that she was at work at all, honestly, it was the weirdest manicure I've ever gotten in my 35 years. I wish they had said that the wait was longer and just let me go somewhere else since they obviously didn't have time or want us there. Shocked, I even paid for that actually. read more

I went to both Kathy and Sophia based on recommendations in my community facebook group. I didn't have a bad experience with Kathy but I just got through reading another review of how Kathy yelled at a customer who was simply inquiring about prices. Yikes! I'm glad I didn't ask about pricing. Because I couldn't get in with Kathy, I selected Sophia. First, I was not greeted happily. Usually, greet someone and say "Kandace?" SEE BELOW ARTICLE. I didn't even hear a peep out of Sophia. She came over and I told her over the noise that the other two girls were before me because I'm polite. The male Owner,I'm assuming, said something to them. Then who I find out is Sophia says "I said xxx" mumbling and in an irritated tone. Well, speak up and say "Kandace?" So we go to the seat and we are packed in like sardines. Every time I have gone to a salon, the nail tech rolls up my pants. Sophia just grouchily says "roll up your pants." Okay I guess this is self service somewhat. Then because I had a toe nail fungus, I asked Sophia if after she takes off the toenail polish if she could file the big toe and then put tea tree oil on it. Sophia then says in an irritated tone "If I do that the nail polish won't stay on." I ask if we can wipe it off before the nail polish application. She then tells me the same thing. I guess you can't use logic or make simple requests. SEE BELOW ARTICLE. I then continue to sit there while the woman besides her is yammering constantly and obviously talking about me because she keeps looking over at me and then saying things about a tattoo which I have on my ankles. SEE BELOW ARTICLE. Really?! I guess class is not something these ladies know about. I should have just stopped at this point but I was going on vacation and thought "I'll just never come back." The rest of the mani was me noticing that Sophia was in a bad mood. Well, that doesn't mean you take it out on your customer. Furthermore, why not ask if I want a drink when your are doing my pedicure NOT while your are doing my manicure. I would also like to note that a neighbor in my Facebook site stated she got a toe nail fungus there twice and they had health code and BBB reports. I'm not saying I got a toe nail fungus there but after my deplorable experience and this, I won't go back. I hope all you ladies read the article below and complain online if you have a bad experience. This is the only way experiences like this will stop. Meh. I did a quick search on my way home to find a decent, regular ole manicure. PROS: The place was clean and had a HUGE selection of colors. I popped in, they were busy, but there was no wait so I was worked on right away. CONS: The manicure area was really cramped, and the tables are for two people, which I've actually never seen at any salon before. I'm all about maximizing and using your space, but I didn't need to hear all about the woman next to me talk all about her family. My manicure was also done fairly hurriedly (even though no one was waiting) and she did a sloppy job. My polish didn't even cover to the edge of my cuticles so there was a slight gap, as if my nails had already grown a bit. She also actually questioned ME when I asked her to trim my nails. I like my nails short bc of typing and drawing and also it's MY choice, not hers. She didn't want to trim my nails bc she said they were already short enough. Really?? Good thing this wasn't near my house and was just a whim of convenience. Also good thing that the basic manicure was only $14. read more

When I come back to VA I always stop in here for a pedicure. I really love their practice and attention to detail. The techs are good about assisting with troublesome spots like calluses and ingrown toenails. I have tried this place a number of times, as it is often recommended. Unfortunately each time has been disappointing. I have had scheduled apts that I've arrived on time and ended up waiting 20+ minutes to be sat, etc. Just this weekend I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi, and my usual spot was booked, so I tried this salon again. The pedi was good, but the mani was very disappointing. The technician sat me down and immediately took a Dremel to my natural nails to apply tips. She did not soak/trim my cuticles, file my natural nail, etc. I asked for almond shape (numerous nails came out crooked), and she did file the tips to the length I was looking for. After applying polish and drying she said "okay all done" without even offering lotion to me. I had to specifically ask her to use acetone to remove the numerous spots of polish she got on my hands/fingers that she was going to let me walk out with. Her response was "you should wash your hands when you get home" ... no, you should be a bit more careful when applying polish, and if you get it on your customer you should clean it off. I then had to request lotion. She applied a small amount to the backs of my hands, and gestured that I was all set. The biggest surprise was when I went to pay. The total (for my spa pedi, the gel mani, and a male mani/pedi) was $152! The mani itself broke down to around $70. For that price I would expect service/results comparable to a high end salon. I'm a fan of reviews, and I don't mean to sound like I'm just trying to complain. These photos were taken the next morning (after I cleaned the polish spots off my hands) and I think they speak for themselves. This is not a $70 mani. Unfortunately I'm only now learning my lesson and will not be back to this salon. read more

I recommend elsewhere. I got a pedi last week and several nails chipped. I'm going on vacation and needed a gel manicure so I figured I'd come back and get the chipped toes fixed and get the manicure. When I walked in, the person who greeted me rubbed the snot on the bottom of her nose the entire time she was talking to me. It was awhile. I'm not a germaphobe, but this was absolutely gross. Get a tissue! The nail tech did an awful job on my nails, cut me three separate times, proceeded to rub limes all over my hands and nails (and cuts-owwww) and left gel polish all around my nails. She fixed my pedicure, but decided to redo ALL my toes instead of the three that chipped and then obviously asked (in another language) if anyone recognized me. This was apparent by the six other techs who swiveled around and took a gander at me. When I waved to the tech who had done my pedicure, I saw a flash of terror in her eyes, as my nail tech went on and on and on about it. On the way out they "reminded me" that the fix was no charge, like they were doing me a favor. Ugh. No thanks. read more

This has been my "go to" salon for the last few years but it has definitely declined and I won't be going back. I always make an appointment so I don't have to wait, but the last two times I had to wait over half an hour. The scheduling is awful. They used to always be friendly and greet you but no one talks to you and barely looks at you. Karen is the worst. She cut me numerous times while I got a pedicure and never apologized, then looked at me like it was my fault. She is very rough and I literally had bruises on my ankle from her. The last time I got the guy, and while he wasn't rough, he also cut me and my nails were not even at all. They need more qualified people and they need better customer service. My bf and I got pedicures here and they were great! My toes look amazing. Howeverrrrrr, my manicure was painful, sloppy, and when I said no drill, wtf did I get? DRILL on my already thin and rough nails along with the nastiest attitude from the person doing my nails. I had a very thin layer of clear polish on top of my nails, why not just remove it with nail polish remover? I felt like my nails were drilled down pretty much to the skin. I'm scared what my nails will look like when this SNS comes off and yes I'm aware that the nail surface needs to be rough for the powder to stick, but my nails were already rough on top. The under part of my index fingernail is bleeding, I couldn't get the camera to focus well enough for a picture because it's deep in there but my finger hurts. I'm surprised no other parts of my fingers are bleeding bc while my nails were getting filed (even though I shaped them very well) the skin on top and side of my finger was also being sanded down. Safe to say I will prob never come here again, but I guess it's the price I pay for convenience since this place is walking distance from my house. read more
