Completely unhappy with service received. The prices are ridiculously high and do not compare to quality service at other salons or any west coast salons. I tried the dip powder for an upcoming vacation. I don't know why I decided to try something new but I should have stuck with the basics. 1. This type of manicure seems very unsanitary. She didn't have me wash my hands, she didn't clean my nails with alcohol or the soapy water and brush. I didn't see new tools opened for use. Maybe the tools were previously cleaned but I doubt it. Anyways she filed my nails then started to apply the polish and dipped my nails right in the jar. I've never had this done before but it seems like there should be a better/ more sanitary method to do this. What if someone has dirty hands, dirtiness under their fingernail, ect? Smh no no no! I will not do powder nails again. 2. My nails are thick and bumpy. She told me don't worry because would file. She filed and it still turned out crazy. It does not look natural. These are my natural nails. Too many layers and uneven filing. I also requested a pedicure and it was rushed. The massage for both feet was a total of 3 minutes. This is why I do not typically request the more expensive pedicure options because some places simply put different creams on you but do not massage or scrub off dead skin. The descriptions are great but service doesn't match. Overall, I'm unhappy and will most likely file my nails to a natural shape and repaint or remove all together. Also, this manicure doesn't come with cuticle trim. I was a walk-in and told 15 mins which turned into an hour. I appreciate they accept walk in customers but the estimated time was very off. read more

The worst gel manicure I've ever had. The nail tech appeared to be racing with the tech next to me. As part of her race to get me out of there, she did not have me wash my hands, resulting in pricks, waves, and smudges in my nail polish. The color came out completely different than my pedicure, although I picked a matching set. Obviously, this was not the fault of the nail tech, but she was completely disinterested in trying to fix the problem. While I was there, another woman came in, was seated at a pedicure station, and was left, without being told if/when someone would be with her. She finally got fed up and left. I originally wanted an eyebrow wax as well, but after the way she rushed through my mani/pedi, there was no way I was letting her near my face. So, despite the poor reviews posted both on Yelp and Facebook, I decided to give Amour Nails a try. I have recently relocated to the area from New York and was hoping to finally find a steady nail place. Its location is convenient and lets be honest, us girls can be a little difficult at times, so i figured id still give it a shot. Well, I guess I should trust yelp reviews a tad bit more next time. I called and made an appointment for a Manicure and Pedicure with Van, as her name was mentioned on several positive reviews. When I arrived I was taken in a timely fashion. Van was kind and polite and gave me a great pedicure. Once she began my manicure, you could tell her next appointment had arrived and she was anxious to finish me so she could move on to her next client. I took the time to dry my nails, and left for the evening. By the next afternoon, with barely any wear & tear - my nails were already chipping. I decided I would go back and ask to have them repainted, since I had just had them done the evening before, and a manicure is not cheap anymore! The owner was at the counter when I walked in, and rolled her eyes when i gently expressed my concern. Telling me "Thats what happens when you don't do Gel" but that she would fix them for me this time. I sat in her chair and she removed my polish, as she did that, I questioned the price of a Gel manicure, as she was insistent that it was much better. She gave me the price, and I suggested paying the difference to have my nails done with Gel, and receiving a credit for my $13 manicure from the evening before that hadn't even lasted 24hours. She said she would only discount me $5.00 so I decided to just have my nails repainted. Well, Im not sure how long the owner has been doing nails but there was nail polish everywhere, all over my nail beds and cuticles. My 6 year old son could have done a better job. She told me to put my hands in the dryer and she just walked away. Three of the nail technicians were hanging out in the pedicure chairs, and i asked if one of them would fix them for me or i would just have to have it taken off because i was embarrassed to leave with my nails looking that bad. They simply pointed to the cotton and remover and told me i could take it off. An absolute waste of money, I will not be returning. read more

Gel Manicure- $28.00, you get what you pay for. I called ahead of time to make an appointment, walked in still had to wait 15 minutes before I could be seated. Upon sitting the woman proceeds to take my worn out gel polish off, she was so rough she ended up hurting me. She proceeded to cut my cuticles, in the process cutting me and drawing blood. She simply laughs and say sorry. We keep going. Not completely removing all of the old polish she started painting my nails I explained I do not like thick polish, she said fine she will make it thin. She proceeds to paint. Was here on Oct 1st and have now have an extremely painful infection in my fingers from them removing too much cuticle, piercing the skin and unclean instruments. She cut me in three different spots, I noticed the one spot that she put antiseptic only because I asked. I realized later there were more spots that she didn't take the initiative to do on her own. After she does my eyebrows, I always get tons of compliments on my "super model eyebrows"! I also like how they do pedicures. I went in to receive the false eye lashes for 25$) that were suppose to last for 2weeks. The lady showed me before and after pictures and I said I approved. She said once she did it I can't ask for my money back. The should have been a RED flag to me that obviously that has happend to her before. The processes itself was not "that" painful. I left pretty happy. After two weeks I was definitely ready for those suckers to be off. Warm water,baby oil, Vaseline, everything I could find to help get the glue off was NOT working! I got some off on one eye, but the other one still had plenty that weren't going anywhere soon. Now 3 weeks later, any many of my own eye lashes pulled out by the horrible job and glueing the damn things to my own eye lashes, I STILL have two sets on one eye that CAN'T get off! I called Armour nails and asked what I can use to get these OFF! She said once again warm water(tried it a million times) or come in and they have some special solution that can take the glue off for $10. NO WAY and I going back there! Save your time/$/pain/humiliation and DO NOT get your eye lashes done here. Have a 5star cruise I am going on in a week and I know false eye lashes will have to come with me(ill do them myself) because I have NONE left! Seriously one of the most irritating painful things I have ever gone through of my 28years of the beauty world. Wish I read a review Ike this before going. You live and you learn I guess. Just hope my eye lashes will grow back. Already spent over $100 on formulas. Wish me and my eye lashes luck. read more

Came in with two friends to get a set of acrylics done. We picked our colors, and when going to front desk to ask for service, we were ignored by 2 employees. We decided to sit and wait, seeing that they were working on a few people, and another lady came in. Instead of taking us they took her, and then ignored us again. My friend and I went in over lunch when the place was empty for manicures and girl talk. I got a regular manicure; she got gel. The cuticle trimming and filing were cursory and not well done for either of us. Then they submerged my friend's hands in acetone rather than wrapping the nails with acetone cotton balls and foil. Then they alternated scraping the nails and leaving grooves with a metal tool and drenching the nails in acetone. My friend's nails are going to be in terrible shape when that gel polish wears off. Moreover, it HURT her. There is no need for that level of deep scraping and dousing the whole hand in acetone. They also charged her $2 above the price of the gel manicure for "gel removal." So she got a hatchet job on her nails and paid $2 extra for it. As for me, after the same cursory poorly done cuticle trimming, another manicurist sat down to give me a really poor hand massage, but that's better than my friend who didn't get one at all. Then yet a third manicurist sat down. It is obvious she is new to this trade and does not know what she is doing. It took her 45 minutes to put regular polish on my nails. She kept messing up and trying to cover and patch and fix. My nails look messier than if I had done them myself. Despite letting them dry under lights for 25 minutes, the moment I stepped out of the shop, they smudged and bunched up because there were SO MANY bad mish-mashed layers of polish on them. My nails look like I painted them myself while drunk. I immediately took off what was left of the polish when I got home. $12 for nothing. I will never go back. I understand that someone might be new, but several more experienced manicurists kept coming by to look over her shoulder and shake their heads. They knew she was doing a poor job and didn't intervene. It's just really poor customer service. The attitude of the staff also seemed irritated that we were there at all. Some days it can be slow, some days you may get a nail tech who isn't as neat but more often then not, you get in quick, good service. I absolutely loved this place. I walked in yesterday (Sunday) at around 2:30 pm and was immediately greeted. I told them what i wanted (full set gel), picked my color and was seated promptly. Before getting in to specifics about the services, i wanted to comment on how nice the shop was. It looked very peaceful and was really quiet and relaxing. I also want to note that upon sitting down, there is a friendly little sign at each station asking for patrons to be quiet as to not disturb other patrons (love this). My tech was Thy and she was awesome! She made sure she knew exactly what i was looking for and got right to work. She was really nice and friendly and made small talk. She was also efficient, i was in the shop for just under and hour. My favorite part of getting my nails done is getting designs. I usually ask for a design and let the tech just freehand whatever they can think of. Sometimes this works out for the best and sometime it doesn't. I couldn't have been any happier with my design from Thy. I chose a neutral color for my nails, so she went super colorful with my design and i love them.
