My experience wasn't great. Paid for a Spa pedicure because my feet really needed it and they didn't do a very complete job removing the roughness. Polish also didn't cover my whole nails. I left feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. My gel manicure was much better. read more

I am deeply disappointed in this nail salon. When they first started out they were decent, the nail polish stayed for a week or a week and a half, but now it is just terrible. One day after getting a regular manicure almost all of my fingers are chipping or halfway gone. Now, I have not been doing much with my hands for this day either. It was supposed to be a relaxing few day not really doing much and spending time with family therefore my finger nail polish shouldn't have even been effected. However that is clearly not the case. I don't normally post negative reviews, but I gave the salon an opportunity to make it right, and they didn't take it. this is literally the worst manicure I've had in my life, and I paid $53 for it. I have short nails, and came in for a quick gel manicure. the nail technician insisted that I needed tips (I pushed back and said I didn't mind my nails being short) but she persisted and I said, fine, just 2 nails (the 2 shortest, and I showed her which 2 fingers) just to mollify her. the nail tech then proceeded to apply 4 tips (not what we agreed on) and they're the most artificial and oddly applied I've ever seen. they stick up unnaturally on an angle so you can completely see my short nail underneath when you flip my hand over. if that's not bad enough she also cut my cuticle really badly during the manicure and it bled for over 30 minutes (she never apologized). when I was paying the receptionist and found out I was being charged for 4 tips instead of 2 as I'd approved, I mentioned to the receptionist that for next time, I should only be charged for what we agreed on, since I didn't even want the tips at all and what I'd asked for is just a gel manicure. I also mentioned that I was cut and still bleeding (my finger was still dripping blood underneath the nail). the receptionist said something to the nail tech and she came over and said "sorry" (I guess sorry she cut me so bad?). no money was reduced in the bill and the excessive tips applied were not addressed. I made my daughters manicure appointments 2 weeks in advance of their father daughter dance. We showed up on time right when they were suppose to open. They had opened early and took several people before us leaving us to wait almost a half hour after our scheduled time. Then they rushed to finish their nails and did a meh job at best. My girls didn't notice but I did. I won't come back. The lack of respect for our time and the quality was not up to standards. read more

I normally go to Lotus Nails in Leesburg because of their excellent service. However, I decided to give VA Nails a shot because of their reviews. Mary was my technician who was very sweet, friendly & professional. Kathy OVERHEARD my conversation with Mary regarding the prices and she decided to yell and call me a liar. It was a clear miscommunication on our end but Kathy was yelling on top of her lungs infront of everyone. Like am I getting a free service? I am paying for my service so what gives you the right to treat customers in this manner? Especially if you're not involved which blew it out of proportion. When the staff was telling her to shut up she kept saying "whatever". Extremely UNPROFESSIONAL! Very disappointed. Still in shock as I've never seen anything like this in my life at any other place. She needs "customer service" training classes. It's because of customers employees get paid so please learn how to treat them. I don't work at the salon so pardon me if there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication but still doesn't give you the right to treat a customer like trash. Came here on a Sunday for the first time. I was a walk in and there was a very short wait but they were all very accommodating. Mary did my pedicure and she was wonderful, very sweet, and gave a great massage! The atmosphere here is gorgeous and relaxing as well. I'm only taking one star off because the prices are a little high in my opinion, although very comparable to other salons in the area so it may just be my own hang up as I am not from the area originally. Decided to try this place even though I have a favorite spot, but I wanted the newer chairs to massage my neck while getting a pedicure. The lady that I assumed was doing it was super nice, but quickly was replaced by a lady who seemed 100% inconvenienced that I am there. She didn't ask me how I am, if I wanted a drink -nothing! then when I pointed out to her all the dry skin on my big toe that she missed, she start talking to her coworker next to her and that gal peered over and they both laughed. I've been coming here for the last year and a half and was previously quite happy with the service. The past two visits have just been terrible. I've had an appt for each time, and yet I still end up waiting 40-45 min. The first time it happened, I left after 45 min because I had somewhere to be. This is one of the better nail salons I've visited. I went with my sister for a gel manicure, and they did a great job. It lasted longer than some other gel manicures I've had. My wife and daughter had a pretty bad experience here. My wife went to tip her lady with a $20 and needed cash back. None of the workers understand that she needed cash back. My wife kept repeating that she needed money back but eventually gave up. I'm torn, while the place is nice and new which is always a plus and they seem to use clean new instruments for every client (you never really know), my tech was mediocre. I got a Mani and pedi both gel totalling $85 which is pretty expensive even with gel. My massage was more of just a rubbing in of the lotion (I can do that myself) She made my toe and finger bleed which really upsets me AND gel on my fingers started lifting within one week. Which you know is not normal if you get gel regularly. Now, all of that doesn't really warrant a review in my standards, I would just not go back. What did put me over the edge was that a man walked in to get a Mani/pedi which me being from CA is totally normal but all the techs errupted into laughter and what I assumed were comments (mind you the 30 min prior I was in there they were silent...not even talking to clients) it's just very unnecessary and unprofessional. It's in a very nice area I just hope they take into account customer service so they don't lose to many clients. ...oh and their phone is hit or miss. Every time I go to this nail spa, I never ask for any one particular technician, but I have always gotten excellent service. This is the first place that I have gone that I don't leave bleeding. You see, I have Renaud's Syndrome. Nothing serious, but my cuticles get dry very quickly. I would leave ALL previous salons with sore cuticles. VA Nails & Spa treated my hands and feet with the utmost care, and the parafin treatments helped maintain moisture in my cuticles for longer periods of time. I very rarely give places 1 star but this place is only getting 1 Star because I have to give it something. I made 2 appts at 7pm walked in and wasn't acknowledged for 15 mins by any one. We were then sat for the remainder of the time to get pedi soaking our feet until the water was cold. 45 mins late no one came to us or said a thing. We grabbed towels dried our feet and left. I've visited them for a few months now and the service has steadily declined. What I don't understand is that they are ALWAYS busy. This last visit for a pedi & acrylic fill was my last time. Okay, I did not have an appointment, but "walk-ins are welcome". I sat in the pedicure chair, in water, for about a half hour before someone finally got to me, she ended up leaving me a few times to take care of other things. She was very rushed and rough. She tried to put me in a manicure seat, I told her I had someplace to be, no way I was going to have her abuse me even more. The "relaxing musac" was stuck on one instrumental. UGH, ear worm! The pedicure techs need more training on massage techniques. More consistently, the 6-minute massage that is included with the pedicure is more like just rubbing in lotion. They are NOT massaging. This salon has up their game by making sure your visit is safe for you and them. No more walk-ins and that suits me just fine. Tom makes sure that appointments are scheduled without over loading the salon. All the stylist wear protective gear and you must wear a mask. You wash your hands and have your temperature taken when you arrive. I'm just happy that my stylist, Kathy, is still there as she really takes the time to do my mani/pedi. Probably the best his and hers pedicure we have ever had. Took about an hour but everything from a lime scrub to a mask was done. Excellent. Feet and calves feel great. Only thing I would suggest is less mingling between the technicians in their native language. It was a very loud long conversation. I kind of felt like a third wheel.
