Like most places in West Texas. Service was slow. Tacos were cold. 1 star for hot coffee and 1 star for atmosphere. read more

A cool coffee shop with friendly people but the prices for the food are a little high for what you get. Service is also REALLY slow and after two errors on my sandwich (I asked for no avocado spread), I finally gave up, took the sandwich as it was and threw it in the trash. I may or may not give them another chance for breakfast but will probably go somewhere else for lunch. read more

Great place. Light breakfast and lunch. Smoothies. Excellent coffee. And, they have nitro cold brew coffee on tap. A beautiful addition to the beautiful little town of Marathon. read more

V6 Coffee Bar - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Marathon, Texas

Wow! An unexpected pleasure in a funny little town. This coffee shop is part of the Gage Hotel, a very nice place, in the middle of nowhere, just outside Big Bend. It is very well done and the coffee and cappuccino were excellent. There is nice outdoor seating on a street side porch that makes you feel like you are in an old western town(you are). They have smoothies, sandwiches and breakfast but I just came for the coffee. read more

V6 Coffee Bar - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Marathon, Texas

Sooo disappointing when businesses advertise a set of operating hours that they don't follow. While traveling through we were dying for a cup of coffee this afternoon. We decided we could hold off until we reached Marathon, only to discover this place had its doors closed at 4pm, an hour early. Boo. read more

Was pleasantly surprised by this gem right outside Big Bend! Came here for coffee, but ended up ordering a full breakfast just because their menu looked so good. And it did not disappoint! Highly recommend the Marathon Muffin (avocado mayo on point) with a cup of joe. Great customer service, quick and affordable, and a nice change of pace from camp food! read more

We visited the coffee bar multiple times a day during our stay at the gage. It's a really cool place, love the decor and it's really clean. The nitro cold brew is a must try....especially with no Starbucks around. Ha! Avocado toast and breakfast potatoes were my favorites. read more

I am not sure why everyone here seemed put out to pour a drip coffee. Horrible unfriendly service.

Great food and even better coffee! They have almond milk and gluten free options. The food came out quick. The location is perfect before heading to big bend. Nice restroom and hot breakfast stop before setting up camp. read more

Such a cute little coffee shop! You should definitely come here if you are passing through town. I had a chai latte and avacado toast and really enjoy both. Warm, cozy vibe to the place. read more

This cafe is an oasis in the desert. They have a full menu of interesting and unique salads and sandwiches, along with all the offerings of a normal coffee bar, including nitro cold brew! The manager/barista is very friendly and sparked up a good conversation, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop. HIGHLY recommended. Everything was delicious. read more

$1 dollar for coffee refills. Ridiculous. You charged me over $2 for 1 cup. Really? Who do you think you are, Ritz Carlton? Otherwise good place for breakfast. read more

Was wanting a quick stop for coffee and small bite to eat on our way out of big bend. I'm kind of a picky coffee drinker, but their black drip coffee was great. Also tried a peach muffin and zucchini bread, and it was fresh, moist, and delish. Workers were nice as well!!! read more

Our group stopped today and ate breakfast here. Our table had jalapeño sausage biscuits and gravy, stuffed French toast, pancake and breakfast fries, and the Marathon Muffin- all of which was very good. Our only negative was the refill charge on coffee, but it was a buck and a small inconvenience. Hard to imagine a better breakfast with something for everyone in your group. read more

Do yourself a favor and stop here! We had the traditional breakfast, egg sandwich and a coffee and everything was so good. People are very friendly and welcoming. It was also super clean and just an overall pleasant atmosphere. If we ever find ourselves back in Marathon, we will definitely be stopping back in. Can't say enough great things about the place. read more

So fantastically yummy eat all the espresso chocolate chip cookies you can!!!!!!! Chris was super super nice, love this place

From the outside you would never guess how cute and quaint this place is. It's got a cute gift shop attached and is all owned by the Gage hotel next door. Coffee was great and their zucchini bread is homemade and extremely delish! They have a large inside area for seating and also a few tables and chairs outside. I got the Honey Cinnamon Latte and it was just enough sweet for the espresso. read more

Random stop on way out of Big Bend NP. Had breakfast burrito...very tasty and generous size.

Great little place for lunch. Stopped here on the way to Big Bend. Super friendly staff. Small menu but don't let that deter you. The roast beef sandwich with pickled onions was delicious and they had a couple vegetarian options as well. read more

Wonderful little gem of a coffee place in the middle of nowhere. We stopped by on the way to Big Bend, great coffee and clean bathrooms. We stopped by again on our way back for lunch, great sandwiches and good service. Highly recommend a stopover. read more

Terrible Service. Barista with the black glasses did not greet us till we were halfway out the door. A simple, "Hello how are you?" would have sufficed. We would have learned his name but we were ignored. This is a shame because it is a nice place. We have owned restaurants and deeply understand customer service and its impact on keeping a restaurant open, alive, and thriving. Our experience: It was 4:00 in the afternoon. There was one other couple, and they were seated at the bar. My wife and I walk in, we walk to the bar and look for a menu. The couple to our left were taking pictures of a drink the barista made. They were complimenting him, so my wife and I sat down in the seats by the board games. These seats are right in the middle of the restaurant in plain view. We waited a few minutes while the Barista talked to the couple. My wife decided to search the counter for a menu. We perused the menu and decided on a couple of sandwiches. Again we waited a couple of minutes for him to acknowledge us. My wife then turns to me and says, let's go somewhere else. We walked to the door, I reached for the handle, pulled the door halfway open, and he says, "Okay guys what can I get for you?" My wife happily says, "We are gonna check out another place." For that level of service, we would rather enjoy our lunch and time elsewhere. We recommend others do the same. It is a shame because we have a wedding with several dozen guests that would have all eaten here, had they just had basic courtesy. It appears that service in west Texas is on the decline, this has been a common theme for the past several years. Fort Worth, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, and Denver seem to have great if not excellent service in their restaurants. read more

Just happened to stop in Marathon and glad we did. Hubby had a turkey club that was very good. Be sure to check out the connecting boutique. Picked up a pound of fair trade coffee and a couple of Texas bird books. Will stop again an the way home for another almond cookie. read more

What a great find on the way home from Big Bend! We were expecting to have to get to Fort Stockton for coffee and breakfast but checked and found this gem in Marathon. A real espresso bar with an excellent barista! We had cortados and they were perfect. For breakfast we had the English muffin (sausage, egg, cheese, tomato), and huevos ahogados - both were amazing. The espresso chocolate chip cookie was also delicious, and there were lots of other yummy-looking pastry options. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area! read more

Fantastic coffee shop. Delicious sandwiches. Staff was quick and courteous. Great place to stop on the way to/from Big Bend.

We travel to Marathon and stay at the fabulous Gage Hotel every Thanksgiving weekend. We were disappointed to see that the breakfast place west of our hotel was not open as it usually is. We headed back the other direction to check out the fare at V6. My husband got the egg sandwich, which was very large and easily shared. It was also delicious! I had quiche, which was also wonderful. The coffee was great (they use beans from Big Bend coffee roasters in Marfa). We could not stay away from their sweets! Pecan bar, the scrumptious chocolate chip and shortbread cookies, and the pear coffee cake. I also saw a yogurt parfait made with homemade granola and homemade cherry preserves that looked wonderful, but I did not get a chance to try it yet. The morning service was friendly, but food was slow to come out of the kitchen for eggs, etc. Fortunately, not many folks are in a hurry to get anywhere once they have paused in Marathon. It was a chance to meet travelers from all over the world. read more
