    Drunken noodles
    Carmen P.

Absolutely delicious! The drunken noodles and curry just hit the spot! Our first time going to Big Bend and decided to stay in Alpine, TX, this was such a great decision! Really good food! The service was great, it's a humble cute restaurant. The ambiance is quiet and nice! Will be going back next time we head to Big Bend!

Tom Kha-- maybe pass on this. Not good.

First off-- order at the counter. Food: The menu wasn't super hearty. They don't serve beef which put a damper on our plan to order "Beef Pad See Ew." We were, thankfully, able to order the rest of our typical Thai Restaurant order, though: Pad Thai Chicken-- Basic and satisfied the craving. Noodles were sweet and nutty, veggies were fresh and cooked just right, chicken was plentiful. Yellow Curry Chicken-- curry had decent flavor. There was a good balance of veggies and chicken. Tom Kha with Shrimp-- Hate to say that it was not good from the moment it hit my mouth. Was giving dog-food flavor, ngl. Ordered an extra rice as we usually need to and they brought out three large bowls with at least three hearty scoops each. Not complaining; my family of four ate most of it, but you light not need an extra rice if it's just a couple of you. All the food came out on/in disposable plates and bowls which made us raise an eyebrow. After being on the road most of the day, we were too hungry and tired to care all that much, though. Chili sauce came out in packets. Looked like some thought was put into the decor. Tables and chairs were nice but there were a lot of different conflicting decorations everywhere which made it feel too visually busy. Bathroom was tidy but needed a good cleaning. Ladies working there were kind. Worth a stop if you are in Alpine on a weekday evening and you don't feel like fast food.

    Tofu pad Thai

Love this spot. Always eat here when driving through here. I get the pad Thai every time and it's always sooo delicious. Got spice level 4 and it was delicious (it is spicy) Very very similar to Thailand Thai. Very authentic. Best Thai Iv had in west texas.

    Paper wrapped shrimp spring roll
    Joel L.

Good food, good service, very nice outside dining area. This was a great restaurant when I first started going to it (1 1/2 years). Has been starting to go down overall in the last 9 months. Today, ordered shrimp spring rolls as I always do. They came in a paperboard tray. Not a good idea, the spring rolls stuck to the paperboard and peeled the spring roll open, so I had a shrimp salad. Saved the second one for when I got home. Even worse outcome! Tore the paperboard trying to unstick the spring roll. Ended up tearing the spring roll practically in half to get rid of the paperboard. Another shrimp salad. Rethink this. I can't be the first this has happened to.

Good food for the price in the town that doesn't have much to choose from, but it was definitely more food than you could eat

We enjoy trying new things and this little Thai shop was good. The number two spicy level was just right, not too spicy.

It's always a good sign when the parking lot is full in the middle of the week. Got a seat inside and waited. Then waited some more. The hostess seated a 14-top and we decided that we would leave if their orders went in first. BUT finally - a waitress. Friendly, though obviously harried by the unexpected mid-week bonanza. Drinks & food order in!! Margarita for me, Dos Equis for him, chili con queso, spicy chicken sandwich as shared plates. $22 marg was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Queso was SO good, with hefty chips made just right. Spice in the chicken - yes please. Did we wait, yes. Did we mind, NO. BEST PART - the people watching was PRIME. We could've passed another round & been entertained until closing but folks were waiting for tables and i was just buzzed enough on the ONE marg. Looking forward to tomorrow when we try a burger & cheesecake.

As one…read moreof only a handful of larger restaurants in Marfa, we expected a much more welcoming experience, especially considering the prices geared toward tourists. Unfortunately, this establishment did not feel family friendly or kid friendly despite presenting itself that way. After waiting around 10 minutes just for someone in our party to grab menus, we were eventually served water and later had our orders taken. However, the overall attitude and repeated glares from the waitress/bartender, Gary Jean, made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Good service goes a long way, and basic kindness shouldn't feel like too much to ask. It became clear that receiving decent service was going to be more effort than it should have been, so we decided to leave before our food even arrived. To management: supporting your staff better may help improve the customer experience overall. A little hospitality can make a big difference.

At the time, we were the only customers waiting to be helped. The two employees working were making bread and chatting about their personal lives. After waiting about three minutes, a small petite girl (no name tag) came over, visibly annoyed, and said, "What do you want?" I politely responded, "How's your day going?" She replied "Good," with no eye contact and no further engagement, and just waited for me to order. I ordered two meatball subs -- one with extra cheese and both with extra sauce. She only put extra sauce on one and made the other regular. She asked if I wanted them toasted; I said yes. She never acknowledged the missing extra sauce on the second sub. She stepped away and another employee, Adrian, took over. I again politely asked, "How's your day going?" He responded, "Good, what do you want on the subs?" with a dismissive tone. I asked if I could get a side of marinara sauce. He said yes. When he finished wrapping the order, he asked his coworker (petite girl) for a side of marinara. She responded with attitude, saying, "Ew, why would you ask me to do that?" He then turned to me and said, "Sorry, we don't have any more." That response was dishonest and unprofessional. After paying, we sat down to eat. Shortly after, another employee came in -- possibly a lead or manager (taller woman). At that point, Adrian and the petite employee began openly talking badly about a coworker named Iris. They joked about how customers "walk all over her" and Adrian said, "I'd like a customer to try me on the wrong day," followed by laughter. The petite employee also mocked a Spanish-speaking family Iris had tried to help, making fun of both the customers and her coworker. It was disappointing and shameful to witness that level of immaturity and lack of professionalism. Extra sauce is not the real issue here -- it's the attitude, disrespect, and open mockery of both customers and fellow employees. That kind of behavior is completely uncalled for. hope management addresses this, because no customer should be treated that way.

However, the real problem was the way the food was served. All I've ever ordered at SUBWAYs across the country was a Beast Protein Bowl and they've always sliced up the meats. This one was just a pile of whole slices with the melted cheese glueing it all together in a large mass. Makes it pretty hard to eat with a fork right? So I ask for a knife and was told they don't carry them. So I asked them why they didn't slice it since I can't even do it myself. She said they don't slice it. I guess I can see why management would want to keep her away from sharp objects.
