Worst service I've ever had. Hispanic lady that was working the line on July 10th at 2:45 was disgustingly rude. Horrible person.

This is the best Subway in Fort Stockton! They put your sandwich together with care and give you what you ask for.

It was pretty much everything you'd hope for in a small-town restaurant in the heart of downtown. Locally owned, just the right amount of greasy-spoon charm, and so authentically West Texas that for a minute we wondered if they were about to serve us fried roadrunner with a side of coyote sauce. The place was filled with locals discussing Friday night's high school football game, which somehow made the whole experience even better. Overall, I'd give the food an 8/10, but we also didn't walk in expecting a fine-dining experience. This was clearly a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-eat kind of place. The brisket sandwich with jalapeño spread was very good. The brisket was chopped and covered in a tasty homemade sauce, while the jalapeño spread added the perfect amount of heat and a nice smoky flavor. It came with a side of hand-cut fries that were delicious. Our server suggested getting the fries covered in Hatch chile queso, and honestly, that may have been the star of the show. I'm not sure queso-covered fries are part of any recognized food group, but they should be. We also ordered the fried catfish basket, and it was very good as well. The fish tasted fresh, and the cornmeal batter was exactly what you'd expect from good Southern-style catfish. Even the house-made coleslaw was a pleasant surprise, which is saying something because coleslaw is usually the side dish everybody politely ignores. Service was exceptionally friendly, and overall, the stop was a success. I probably wouldn't plan an entire road trip around B's, but if you're passing through Fort Stockton, you're hungry, and you want some good, locally owned mom-and-pop food, this downtown staple is definitely worth a stop.

My husband ordered the bbq plate and it looked like something they served in heaven. It came with an apple cobbler. The cinnamon and nutmeg were so fragrant. And it melted in your mouth. What I liked about it was it was not too sweet. Perfect. His bbq plate looked delicious. The chicken thigh had a nice color, and great texture from the black pepper. It came with sausage and brisket, beans, and a jalapeño! Insanely good. I am so glad we stopped to eat here. I ordered a club with fries. They really underpromised and over delivered. I was expected a slice of deli meat but no, I was wrong. It was chopped chicken??? Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and perfectly buttered bread. And a lot of meat! You HAVE TO stop and eat here.

But, in all fairness, I've eaten at no fewer than 200 different Tex-Mex restaurants in my lifetime. First, as one reviewer stated, this is very much a New Mexican-style restaurant, although they try to get there with the Tex-Mex. What does this mean? Quite simply, this place uses red sauce (vs. chili gravy) for enchiladas. It also offers stacked enchiladas with an egg placed on top, which is true New Mexican. Beyond that, the menu is quite varied. I'll start with my cheese enchiladas with red sauce. The sauce was spicy as hell, which was wonderful. The enchiladas themselves were a disappointment because they used two corn tortillas to roll them with the smallest pinch of cheese I've experienced in a while. -- I'm not sure about my dad's chile relleno and beef enchilada with green sauce, but he really enjoyed both. The rice and beans were pretty much par for the course. Not bad but nothing special. The salsa here is phenomenal. There's just enough onion and cilantro to make it memorable. It's served cold, which is a must for me, and it has some serious bite. Service here is really friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is old school: cheap paneling and trite "Mexican" decor. The men's bathroom is almost as dark as a movie theater. I don't get to this area often, but I would certainly eat here again any time I do.

It had a surprisingly large portion for 6 dollars, beating out McDonald's easily. Service was great, food came out quickly, and place was clean for a gas station. Quickly restocked depleted napkins. Ambience was lacking, but then again it is a fast food restaurant in a gas station. I would recommend this carls Jr. It's built into the lives gas station.

As I was getting hungry, I saw a sign for Carl's Jr. on the highway and proceeded to turn my right blinker on. Ambiance (3/5): It's a fast food restaurant. You're not going there for the ambiance and I didn't dine in. I ordered through the drive through. Pretty much what you would expect. Service (4/5): I placed my order, paid, and the cashier asked me to pull up a little past the drive through and he would bring my food to me. It came out in the timeframe I would expect. The only hiccup? No napkins or ketchup in the bag. Drinks (3/5): Your usual assortment of soft drinks. I went with a sweet tea. Food (3/5): We all have our power rankings when it comes to fast food. For me, I'm a little ambivalent about Carl's Jr. It's about in the middle for me. I do like their commercials though. This time around, I went with the chargrilled chicken sandwich (swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and mayo) combo with waffle fries. The waffle fries are an upcharge and are only available in a medium size, not large. I'll take waffle fries over regular fries any day of the week, even for a small upcharge. The chicken wasn't bad. It was charred nicely. The bacon was a little limp, but overall, it did the job. I enjoyed the waffle fries the best. They were fresh. They had not been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time which is always a risk at a fast food joint. For what it is, Carl's Jr. makes for a decent late night selection when you're on the road.
