Group next to us ordered burgers that looked delicious. Love the ambiance- we could see the cooks working furiously in the kitchen. The owner apologized for being out of a few items, but it's understandable since not many restaurants are open in this town. An older Hispanic woman was also behind the counter and greeted us warmly. My wife always says "if somebody's abuela is in the kitchen cooking then you know it is good". This was our first visit in town and we got lucky. A local couple stood in the order line behind us and reassured us that everything is good. Turns out the woman was my hometown mail carrier and remembered my address!!!! My hometown is more than 600 miles away! Amazing. Delicious food and a lovely experience. We will be back next time we are in town.

We started with a cup of Jalapeño and Cilantro Soup. It's a cream based soup. I couldn't detect much of any heat from the Jalapeños and the cilantro was pretty much hidden. Maybe a sprinkling of fresh cilantro on top would have made it more pronounced. It also needed to be served hot. We then got the 14oz Ribeye which came with mashed potatoes & green beans. This was a great plate of food! It came out hot! The person who brought it out waited until we cut into it to see if it was acceptable. We've never had any staff person do that for us before! It was a little under done on one side, but the other was perfect. We almost finished the plate. It was delicious! Lastly, we got the Chocolate Bread Pudding Tamale. It comes wrapped in a corn husk that it is cooked in. You remove it and eat the bread pudding. It was gummy in a good way, as hubby described it. It needed the fresh strawberries & ice cream that came on the plate. We really enjoyed our dinner! Our server, Jordan, was very efficient & made it a nice experience! We probably won't travel this way again, but if we did, we would definitely return!

I walked into restaurant with my legitimate service dog & was rudely & loudly embarrassed by an inconsiderate employee. She refused to allow me into the restaurant because of my service dog. I have a disability & need a service dog. When the woman loudly told me I was not allowed in the restaurant I told her that I had my dog's license on his collar & official paperwork but she refused me service. She refused me service due to me having a disability & depending on a service dog. She was so loud & unprofessional that all customers stopped eating & I was center of attention. Denying me service is illegal. This employee is certainly lucky they she does not have a disability requiring her to have a service dog. Rude & disrespectful & very unpleasant employee. read more

My favorite breakfast by far and away in all of Far West Texas. Knocked off one star just because the hit or miss if they'll be open some weekends. Understandable in a small town, but I recommend calling before heading over. On busy touristy weekends, service sometimes isn't the most friendly. If you want to be greeted with a smile, not necessarily the place for you, but if you want good Mexican food, this is the best option in Ft Davis. I crave their Eggs smothered in salsa between every visit. Also, bring cash. WiFi in Ft Davis can be spotty, so sometimes their credit card machine is down. read more
