My mother lives alone & unfortunately suffers from debilitating back pain after a fall. Panic setting in I was referred that evening to Amy Recco founder of Friends For Life Homecare. She immediately gave me the names of the social workers at GSH that would delay the release for 12 hours & at same time contacted a caregiver to be at my mothers home when the ambulance dropped her off. Soooo, a week later I write this review to thank Amy & her efficient, empathetic organization and the life changing care my mother is receiving. Thank you for saving my mother! Mike S

"I cannot express enough gratitude for Pat and the entire team at Gentle Touch. I was recently…read moretasked with the overwhelming responsibility of helping my cousin transition home from a rehabilitation center following a stroke. Since I live in another state, I was incredibly worried about how we would manage everything from a distance. Pat and his staff truly went above and beyond to ease that burden. They didn't just provide care; they made sure every detail of my cousin's home was safe and that every single one of his needs was met before he even walked through the door. What touched me the most was Pat's communication and selflessness. He kept me in the loop every step of the way, so I never felt 'in the dark' despite being miles away. He even gave up his own personal time to help, knowing I couldn't be there physically. If you are looking for a team that treats your family like their own, look no further than Gentle Touch. They are professional, reliable, and most importantly, deeply compassionate."

With a multitude of cultures and backgrounds, the staff headed by Bonnie the branch manager who put my concerns and any aid I'd need as a priority, I was always felt like I was truly a valued member of the team.

From being there one day, patients seemed to be over medicated and walk around like zombies. The facility is dingy looking and does not smell very clean. The staff are not very friendly and do not seem to interact on a regular basis except to give them medication. The residents of the facility seem to be more than just Seniors. The residents are those that have problems and need help with everyday needs. The owners Mrs. Schorr and her son Ira Schorr are nasty and disrespectful to the residents. The only time they are nice is when they are asking for the monthly rent. They speak to the residents in a nasty tone of voice and they speak just as awful to their staff members as well. These two should not be running a Rest Home because they do not know how to treat people. They failed to understand that residents who are placed in this type of facility either are Seniors or those that have problems that can not live alone. They need to be reminded of that when dealing with these residents and running and operating this kind of facility. I am sure that it is difficult running a facility with so many different people that have individual needs but screaming at the staff and the residents is not the solution but the problem. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I give them a F in all areas.
