I will rate usps a 3.9 but I need to round down for now because its may 2026 my parcels are delayed. My parcels are not supposed to be delayed so to usps. Do the following scan my parcels / dont smash my parcels bubble wrap them/ read the apt and address carefully/ do not lose my parcel. To the the mailmans: be sure ur mail vans are securely secured / and as a woman get the mailman new mail carrier bags. New bags so the mail and parcels are not lost. Tip the mailman its appreciated. I use usps all the time they can do a better job and put effort into getting my mail. The usps location is decent can be a bit busy the ladies are nice. read more

Hoping this location gets investigated for mail fraud like the other comments have been reporting. They constantly lose packages, can't find them in the back, no one knows what to do except cancel your mail and make decisions that aren't based on USPS guidelines. I wouldn't be shocked if employees were returning packages back to avoid shipping them or just dropping them at random houses. There is endless junk mail from USPS as well. 95% of the mail is citywide run marketing ads and junk coupons that I do not wish to receive. When I was there last the person in front of me asked why the mail carrier stated they couldn't deliver to his house and where his package is. Something that seems to be common and part of living in Marin is losing your mail. Then when you go to find it they tell you it's not our problem wait for an update that never happens. Or they call you to make you feel bad and blame you as if you could deliver yourself. I have come here multiple times. It's completely hit or miss, and most of the time right now a miss. The post office manager blames the lack of organization on the employees and day shift supervisors. How many supervisors and managers need to work at a location where only 1-2 people ever work the front desk? Where would mail go if it's not on a truck/plane/boat or in a usps facility? read more

Honestly, the people working here were unbelievably rude. I asked to look at the label she put on my package just to make sure everything was correct. I was not asking her to change anything. But this woman with the dramatic bat-wing eyeliner immediately snapped at me, saying there was "no changing." I told her again that I only wanted to see the label, and she completely blew up at me. Then as I was walking out, the guy working with her started yelling random comments too. It felt so unnecessarily hostile and bizarre. I have no idea why they were acting like I personally ruined their day, but I left feeling angry and disrespected. Oh how this store has changed so much and not for the better. We all know the economy is tight and every business is finding the going tough nowadays. Yet still most businesses do not resort to fleecing their customers at any given chance. Such is the case now at this USPS suboffice on Clement St. Case in point , dealing with prepaid ebay packages/boxes. I went there last week to drop off a couple of ebay boxes. The manager/owner hastily put each item on the digital scales and then gave me a receipt. Afterwards, I receive a message from usps on ebay telling me that I had underpaid for one of the boxes. Not by one or two pounds . By nine pounds in fact. For a pair of hiking shoes and nothing else in the box. The original weight I put down was 3.5 pounds. An extra pound or so would have been begrudgingly acceptable. However, over 8 pounds bringing the claimed weight overall to 12.5 pounds was being dishonest and in fact fraudulent. The matter is now with usps investigations. read more

I appreciate having a post office on Clement to get things done when shopping nearby. It makes life a bit easier. This is a post office satellite that does most of everything except no money orders and no passports. Other than that, they can help you mail things and they have stamps you can buy. We have always found them to be very friendly and helpful. read more

This store on Clement street provided excellent service. The staff was friendly, patience, knowledgeable and helpful. I went in to mail my passport renewal and needed postage to mail my envelope. The counter person said I should send it priority mail because the envelope was larger and easier to see - he gave me the pro/con of my envelope vs. the priority envelope. It made sense. read more

I've had two negative experiences with this shop. I purchased certified mail tracking service for two packages and neither of them were scanned right away and provided timely service. The second one took over two weeks without any update. When I went back to ask them about it they were confrontational like I was trying to rip them off versus trying to solve the problem. I like trying to support local businesses, but there is a bit of a communication barrier and with the spotty quality of the service, I likely won't go back. read more

If I can give negative rating I would definitely do it. Watch out for this location. The only provide selective post service while other USPS location will do anything. I have a prepaid label package to drop off they wouldn't accept until I pay extra. However they label was prepaid by sender, sender will pay the difference. This place makes me suspect that not all USPS locations are created equal. Maybe that was common knowledge. But basically, this location is not consistent with other ones around the city. It really feels like another Clement Street business (#supportlocalbusinesses I guess) in that it doesn't accept card for purchases under $5, it charges extra for every little thing, doesn't sell real packing tape, etc... Also, they were playing Frozen on their TV. Only come here for basic shipping needs. read more

This place reminds me of a mom and pops shop. It's very small but very functional. The 2 people there were very friendly and fast moving (though I've been experiencing good customer service in most usps locations nowadays). I was able to get in and out within 5 mins. Highly recommended! read more

This is not an official post office, but an affiliate retailer. This is why they are a bit cranky about taking packages that are already prepaid, they don't get any money for that (I've always had success with them taking my prepaid packages, but if you don't like confrontation, suggest finding a street mailbox). They also knowingly rip you off -- I went in to ship an envelope to Richmond, CA and saw first class postage would be $2.50, so asked for that. When she charged me, she conveniently selected the $5 "retail" first class postage & charged me as such. I didn't bother fighting with her because the convenience of having this service within a few blocks of my apt is worth the few extra dollars to me, but it doesn't make me happy to go here and they definitely wouldn't get my business if I were planning to send a bunch of packages. read more

I gave my American Express to pay and they told me the credit card machine only worked for Visa or Master Card. I was surprised and asked if they were not USPS. The gentleman at the registers said "I will show you" and grabbed my Amex and put it in the machine. He pulled it out really quickly though. Well the machine worked. So he had to print the receipt and asked me for my signature. As I was signing I asked again if they did not take Amex. He and his colleague both said no at that point. They should have just told me they don't take Amex. I understand a lot of small businesses don't accept it due to a higher fee. But come on. Be honest with customers. And I did learn that this is a retail USPS which I guess means they are a franchise. read more

This is a mixed bag of service and availability. As a registered post office you'd think there would be regular hours of operation and holidays but it's not. Similar to other businesses on clement it's family/ small business and so there's a charm to it for friendliness and neighborliness. What doesn't work? If you actually have timelines or schedules and just so happen don't know if they're working that day :( read more

This place tried to convince me that my poshmark shipping label doesn't work on an express priority mail box that I could get for free at any us post office. I've been a poshmark seller for a while and know which boxes work. They were pushing for me to buy a plain unmarked box for $3. No thanks. I walked out without mailing my package because I didn't want to aggravate them. Plus at that point, do you even trust them to mail your package for you? Better safe than sorry, if you care about your packages, go somewhere else that won't try to scam you and ship it off with a peace of mind read more

do not bring any pre paid labels here. they are always turning down my packages for not being the correct weight even though i confirm the weight at home. you are better off going to the usps on parker and geary with prepaid packages. read more

Very nice staff who were extremely helpful. I got more customer service here then I'd ever get at a traditional post office or UPS/FedEx store. They helped me package my roughly 15 packages which saved me so much time. UPS or FedEx would have charged me for that. I ended up spending significantly less by coming here than I would have spent elsewhere. read more

Nice people in a very small location. Generally fine service but we have a complaint: THEY SOMETIMES BOX UP PACKAGES GOING TO CHINA, AND GIVE THE CUSTOMER'S FORMS TO CUSTOMERS AT THE COUNTER since some of them don't speak English. We have all our packages pre-addressed and fully boxed so if we have to stand in lined while one of the owner's boxes up a package going overseas this is a giant waste of time. They should do what the regular usps does: REQUIRE PACKAGES BOXED IN ADVANCE AND GIVE ANY FORMS TO CUSTOMERS and have them fill them out at a counter and then they can return to the head of the line. This keeps the line moving! I tried to suggest this but the owner's don't speak good english (or pretend not too) and just smile and chuckle - will somebody be so good as to advise them in Chinese that the line will move faster if they adopt the above policy, their customers will be happier, and they will get more business in the long run. We know they are just trying to be extra helpful, but it sometimes has a reverse effect. read more

I've dealt with some crappy usps around SF and the couple that run this small shop are great! Super friendly, willing to help, they don't charge you for using a strip of tape unlike the other locations. There's never a line and they are always quick. read more

I went in for holiday stamps and they had a nice range of options. Plus, they didn't charge an extra surcharge, which some contracted USPS stations do. They were friendly and efficient. Pretty good, considering most post offices are pretty awful and slow. read more

Like the other reviews, I received abhorrent service when I brought in a prepaid package. The man was RUDE and refused me a strip of packing tape to shut my box. Luckily a nearby business was kind enough to spare me a strip of tape to close up my box, but just a hot tip for anyone who is still considering visiting this usps location and doesn't feel like paying $2.95 for a roll of packing tape, the small grocery store next door sells packing tape for $1.65. read more

Horrible service. This place charges more for everything than the regular Post Office. I also had them ship a package out and they sent it to the wrong place. When I went back to complain, they said it was my fault they wrote down the wrong address even after I showed them a copy of the shipping address. I had to ship something else out and asked if they would at least credit me the $3.00 shipping cost toward my next package, they rudely said no, turned around and walked away ignoring me. I strongly suggest anyone who wants to buy or ship anything to NOT come here because they will pay more than other places and if something goes wrong with the shipment, they will blame you and you are stuck with all charges and fees for shipping the items again if you get that item back. read more
