I placed a USPS Hold Mail request for 2840 Main St, San Diego, CA 92113 and received a valid confirmation number. Despite this, the Logan Heights Post Office failed to honor the hold and delivered all my mail anyway -- including my personal identification, which is now missing. This is not just poor service. It is a violation of USPS procedures, including: USPS Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) 508.1.8 -- USPS is required to suspend delivery when a Hold Mail request is properly submitted. USPS Carrier Handbook M‑41, Section 131.3 -- Carriers must follow hold orders issued by the post office. USPS Customer Service SOP for Hold Mail -- Offices must verify and enforce holds and ensure mail is secured until pickup. None of these procedures were followed. When I arrived from Florida to retrieve my held mail, staff first claimed no hold existed. After I showed the confirmation number, they admitted the hold was found -- but the carrier delivered everything anyway. I returned the next day and was given the exact same explanation, word for word. The supervisor stated he was "as high as it goes" and refused to escalate the issue. He also said he could not send anyone to retrieve my mail, even though USPS caused the problem. This contradicts USPS policy requiring management to escalate unresolved mail‑loss incidents and initiate a Missing Mail search. Because of USPS negligence, my identification is now missing, exposing me to identity theft, fraud, and financial harm. I have already filed complaints with USPS Customer Service and will be escalating to the USPS Consumer Advocate and the USPS Office of Inspector General. We also plan to pursue litigation for negligence due to the failure to honor a confirmed mail hold and the refusal of the 92113 Postmaster to escalate or resolve the issue. Upper‑level USPS management needs to investigate this location immediately. read more

Every single time I send a package from this location my packages are lost , stolen , broken , or shipped to a different facility . I only go to this location because I live nearby but I prefer any other one as this one is very slow and the employees always seem miserable. Employee Miguel was incredibly rude to me. I'm still in shock at how awful he was! I asked if I could take two medium boxes from the front and he said that they were already stocked. I said they weren't and that's why I was asking. He picked up the other medium boxes and was trying to say that's what I took which wasn't. I took the long ones that open on the sides. He asked me which ones they were and then kept telling me that they were the same and that I was wrong and that "it's ok to be wrong." It was so strange. Then he said, "ready?" As if I was going to let him help me. I said I'd wait for the next teller and he said, "Good" Then he kept saying something under his breath and when I asked he said, "What are you, deaf?" I have come here many times as it is close by, however the staff is incredibly rude, abrasive and extremely unhelpful every single time I have been in here. We are a local business and we have to ship things. We know the protocol, and we packaged small boxes, they were about $5 or so to ship. NUMEROUS ones. We've done our own labels only to be covered by the USPS labels so we come in with the addresses. Why waste our labels (standard) when they print theirs out. Well, we went to drop off these boxes and maybe there were 8 or 9 and Lily assisted us. NOBODY was behind us. It was empty. She was completely put out with us. Her body language, her attitude. Ok people have bad days. We were courteous and did our business and left. A week or 2 later, one my of employees goes and has the unpleasant experience with Lily. She berated him and said she doesn't have time to be labeling all these packages, there were several. She said we have to start printing them at our work blah blah. If we were able to pre-print them we would. We ALWAYS have issues using USPS online tools and guess what? WE ARE BUSY TOO Hence, taking it TO USPS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF! Is there a rule or a law that says I can't bring several items to ship? Please--someone enlighten me. My employee was embarrassed and upset. There is NO justification for this. AND even if there are customers there, well I'm sorry-you wait your turn. Just like I've waited my turn many times in that store. So please - Lily--if you're unhappy please work behind the scenes. I got so much push back mailing a letter oh it's too thick no it's not... ohh it has to be bendable would you bend a xmas or birthday card or even if you sent a stack of photos On top of that Josephine you look down on the mail carrier. Unfortunately, this post office is close to work so it is the most convenient one. EVERY SINGLE TIME that I come here, I have the worst experience. I also get stuck with the same lady too, Cerfie. Can the post office please hire someone else that is competent?? Every month, our company sends out newsletters in manila envelopes. I send out about 119 of them all weighing the same. Apparently people do not know how to meter stamps so I have to buy stamps. I will review about my most recent experiences. Last month -- I was of course stuck with Cerfie, who was the only one working. First of all, why do they only have one person working at a time especially when the lines are forever long?? I told her that I have 119 envelopes all weighing the same and just needed to buy stamps for each of them. She struggled to find stamps for me. This lady cannot count or something. She literally pulled out the first set which were $1 stamps and needed to count like 7 times. SEVEN FREAKING TIMES. Can we not count to 119? And then when it came to the second set, she did the same thing!!!! I think that post office workers need to be able to count correctly. Not to mention after she sold them to me, I recounted them myself and she did not give me the correct amount. Today -- I literally just came from here. They opened at 10:00am. I arrived at 9:45am and stood in line. Of course I see Cerfie walk out. Great. I hope and hope that she was not the person helping me but unfortunately she was. The two systems she was using were down so I had to wait for the other girl, Monica. I switched to Monica and then Cerfie magically got the system to work so I had to switch back. I told her the same scenario. Just need 119 stamps for all the same size. She asked me where it was going. I said "just local so in San Diego". She said "Okay, so lets just say they are going to San Francisco". I said "No. I said local, San Diego". What does she not understand? Anyways, she had to go to the back and get stamps which took her another 10 minutes. Same counting problem. I HATE post offices and really, it is because the people who work in them are so incompetent. Sorry for the people who waited in line behind me. It is not my fault the lady moves slower than a snail. When you need to send a package out , it doesn't get more convenient then having a USPS located right by your house !:) Location : really convenient ! One of the only ones near Carmel valley :) in the back of the hallmark located in the valley center plaza . Hours : always check if open :) some USPS locations have different hours ! Lines are shorter then lost post offices , usually 2-3 people working at the counter Service : good ! People are nice and helpful :) if they have extra tape , they will let you use They are very attentive to questions and provide the right answers ! This is my first 1-star review ever! My local USPS should be so proud of themselves! I come here because it's the closest one to my house but every single time I walk in here I am hit in the face with the smell of incompetence and misery. There has never been one time, in 4 years of coming here, that there hasn't been a line of at least 8 people. And then when it is finally your lucky turn, you are greeted with a snarl, a glare, and a $19 charge to send a 6 oz gift that only cost you $10 in the first place. No wonder everyone is just buying everything with Amazon Prime these days. I've started going to the Carmel Mountain headquarters because they are fast, efficient, and super friendly. read more

::Sending mail out:: This USPS is located inside the Hallmark in the Vons Shopping Center off of Valley Ctr Dr on the Carmel Creek Rd exit off of the 56. The first time I tried to go the other day I couldn't find it because I saw the sign however no mailboxes were outside so it's not like your typical USPS. I was bummed because Hallmark wasn't open for another hour and there was no drop box outside. I wish there was a mail drop box outside like most USPS! I came today and found my way towards the back of the Hallmark Store. This place is convenient except for trekking into the deep back part of the store. read more

I came here with a Click and Ship package and a large envelope today. Oddly enough, the mailman checked the Click and Ship package on his scale, which added extra time. I have been staying with family for the past 3 months while awaiting completion of my Orange County home and have had 3 occasions to visit the USPS office inside of Elam's. The service there is outstanding. I've lived in Dana Point for the past 9 years and go to their main PO where one can expect to stand in line for 1+ hours; lines shorter than those I've experienced at the Elam's location. These workers are phenomenal....in particular the friendly blond woman who wears a wrist brace. They are fast, efficient and never take pause. I arrived yesterday with a line so long I wanted to turn around and go home. Within 5 minutes my packages had been mailed. Thank you! Once I move back to OC, it would almost save time to drive to this location to send a package! read more
